Additional Inheritance - Chap 47
Chapter 47.1
Li Shuo rubbed Wen Xiaohui’s head. “You’re thinking too much about it. Love is the most complex thing in the world. If you were able to determine its weight or size, there wouldn’t be as many ups and downs1 in life. No one is capable of thinking rationally when it comes to love, so it’s very normal for you to feel lost.”
Wen Xiaohui smiled with difficulty. “You’re really good at comforting others.”
Making fun of himself, Li Shuo replied, “Comforting you is the only thing I can do.”
Wen Xiaohui raised his glass. “I’d like to give you a toast for these words.”
Li Shuo raised his glass and clinked it against Wen Xiaohui’s.
“Do you want to sing?” Wen Xiaohui’s personality became more evident after a bit of drinking.
Li Shuo smiled and said, “You go.”
Wen Xiaohui rolled his sleeves up, then went to select a song. After he finished, he turned around and saw that his original seat had been taken by a boy who was cozying up to Li Shuo. Li Shuo was the kind of person who was always the focus of attention, no matter where he went. The radiation of his appeal did not distinguish between men or women, young or old. It was miraculous when he thought about it – how could he have turned down such a guy?
Wen Xiaohui chose a really lively English song and the birthday boy suggested that everyone dance to it. Therefore, Wen Xiaohui turned up the original vocals to the max, taking a big step forward to jump around while singing. The dozens of people in the private room also stood up, frantically swaying their bodies.
Li Shuo quickly gathered a group of gay guys, including the birthday boy who seemed to have had too much to drink as his jealousy2 was completely undisguised.
Haozi appeared and moved closer to Wen Xiaohui, grabbing the microphone to sing a little. They laughed at each other. As the song reached its climax, nearly everyone started belting out. It was unprecedented – the atmosphere was buzzing.
As the song approached the end, everyone seemed exhausted judging from the way they were dancing plus they’d been drinking. Everyone was swaying from side to side, laughing loudly like a group of maniacs.
Wen Xiaohui laughed along with them – he laughed so much that his drunken eyes became hazy. It was Luo Yi’s birthday today, but he was actually at a stranger’s birthday party. How could something so ridiculous happen? It was unbelievable.
What was Luo Yi doing? It was already dark and that person didn’t look like he had good intentions. Would he really celebrate Luo Yi’s birthday with him? Could Luo Yi be feeling very lonely? Or maybe frustrated? He shouldn’t have left – he should have waited outside the villa for that man’s car to leave before going back. Why the heck did he end up at such an inexplicable place?
Someone’s arm wrapped around Wen Xiaohui’s waist.
Wen Xiaohui turned around to give them a blank stare. Haozi’s face was really close to Wen Xiaohui as he said in his ear, “You can’t stand properly anymore. How about I take you home?”
Wen Xiaohui smiled, waving his hands to decline the offer. “Thanks, but I’m fine.” He wanted to return to the sofa.
Haozi still didn’t let go and the tip of his nose was pressed against Wen Xiaohui’s hair. He said suggestively, “Your body smells so nice.”
Wen Xiaohui felt a bit disgusted. His first impression of the guy was that he was impertinent and his attitude was unchanged. Wen Xiaohui was lucky he didn’t waste time going on a date with him. He pushed Haozi away from himself rather discourteously, then he staggered towards Li Shuo.
As he approached Li Shuo’s feet, he slipped on a wine bottle that was lying on the floor and landed on top of Li Shuo.
Li Shuo reached his arms out to catch him.
Wen Xiaohui burst into laughter and Li Shuo laughed too. “It seems like you shouldn’t drink anymore.”
“I’m fine – I don’t get drunk easily. This is barely anything.” Wen Xiaohui sat up straight, reaching out for a wine bottle.
Li Shuo grabbed Wen Xiaohui’s hand. “Xiaohui, drinking helps to liven things up, but I don’t agree with using it to drown your sorrows. Not only will it not solve the issue, you might end up doing something stupid.”
“I really want to drink.” Wen Xiaohui looked at him with an innocent expression.
Li Shuo pulled him to standing, dragging him out of the private room. Wen Xiaohui could feel the little arrows of envy whooshing behind him and stabbing him in the backbone.
They went outside. Evenings in the capital were already very cold even though it was only autumn. A gust of wind swept past them and Wen Xiaohui immediately started to shiver. He felt a lot more sober.
Li Shuo glanced at him. “If you’re feeling upset, you can chat to me. Don’t do anything silly.”
Wen Xiaohui sighed and replied, “Li-dage, not everyone can be as understanding as you. Besides, I’m fine. Someone stood me up, but it wasn’t his fault. I’m just feeling a little lonely. There really isn’t anything else.”
“It doesn’t seem as simple as that.”
Wen Xiaohui planted his bottom down on the walled flower bed. He tapped his right foot with his left foot and his left foot with his right foot as he entertained himself.
Things definitely weren’t as simple as they seemed, but he was unable to confide in Li Shuo. Besides there were many things about Luo Yi that he couldn’t even confide in Luo Rui. He was hiding so many secrets – it grew heavier and heavier up to the point when he met ‘that person’ today. He felt like he was about to be suffocated by these secrets. He once suspected that the contract and his out-of-the-ordinary relationship with Luo Yi was the largest obstacle to their relationship, but now it seemed as though there was more to it.
Li Shuo sat down beside him and he said gently, “Xiaohui, I can’t change your mind, but I’d like to offer a few impartial words. There’s something wrong with a relationship if it leaves you feeling upset.”
Wen Xiaohui stifled a laugh. How could he possibly tell Li Shuo that he and Luo Yi weren’t even together? He said, “Li-dage, I understand this. Thank you.”
Li Shuo smiled. “Do you really want a drink?”
Wen Xiaohui nodded.
“Okay, I’ll let you drink to your heart’s content.”
“Are you not going to look down on me for being silly?”
“You can be silly and I’ll deal with the consequences. I’ll make sure you get to a hotel safely.” Li Shuo stood up and he dragged Wen Xiaohui to standing. “Let’s go.”
Wen Xiaohui felt a gush of warmth flooding his heart as he looked at Li Shuo’s gentle and handsome smile. Li Shuo’s feelings were like a spring that maintained a constant temperature – lacking the invigoration of a cold spring or the passion of a hot spring. Li Shuo always kept his cool; he behaved rationally and appropriately, taking into account the situation. He could give someone the greatest respect and freedom, purging the prejudice and selfishness caused by self-interest. This was Li Shuo’s approach to love – lukewarm, but comforting. It was a pity that people only longed for the gentle and mundane after experiencing something exciting and passionate. To be honest, being in a relationship with someone like Li Shuo, he could be so nice to you to the point of perfection, but you would never be able to attain his love.
Remembering the events that happened in the US, perhaps he found Luo Yi’s love confession particularly moving because of the contrast with Li Shuo.
When they returned to the private room, some people gave them suggestive looks while others were full of jealousy.
Wen Xiaohui acted like he didn’t notice. At this moment, anyone who dared to provoke him was asking for it.
Li Shuo put the wine in front of him. “Come on, I’ll drink with you.”
Wen Xiaohui clinked glasses with him before he started to drink in an unrestrained manner.
After they’d been drinking for a while, Li Shuo was called over by the birthday boy. Wen Xiaohui didn’t hear why he was looking for Li Shuo, but he couldn’t be bothered to find out. His mind was filled with booze as he drank one glass after another, as if it were water.
In between the haziness, someone sat down next to him and he squinted. It didn’t seem like Li Shuo; instead it was Haozi. How could this guy be so annoying?
Haozi was drunk as he moved his face closer. “How about I drink with you?”
Wen Xiaohui didn’t pay him any attention, continuing to drink on his own.
“What’s so great about Li Shuo? Everything revolves around him…” Haozi said disdainfully, “He’s so pretentious. It’s such an exaggeration.”
Wen Xiaohui really didn’t have the energy to mock him, otherwise he would have caused Haozi to scurry home with his tail between his legs.
When Haozi realised Wen Xiaohui hadn’t said anything, he went a step further, putting both of his arms around Wen Xiaohui’s waist. “Your waist feels so flexible. Have you tried any unusual positions in bed?”
Wen Xiaohui gave him a sidelong glance. “I haven’t tried it before. Would you like to teach me?”
Haozi nodded absentmindedly. “That’s not a problem.”
“Take your trousers off, so I can see how big you are. We can talk if you pass the inspection.”
Haozi laughed out loud for a while until he realised Wen Xiaohui was mocking him and his expression changed.
Wen Xiaohui shoved him away. “Dude, can’t I drink in peace?”
Haozi clicked his tongue as he replied, “You don’t have to be so aggressive. There aren’t many like me in our circle that you could choose from. I asked you out a few times, but you refused. Why are you pretending to be proper when you’re dressed like a slut?”
Wen Xiaohui felt enraged, as if there was a gush of demonic fire burning in his heart. “It’s not for you to see, so sue me.”
The volume of Wen Xiaohui’s voice wasn’t low, so although it was noisy in the private room, the people around them still heard it. Furthermore, these people were onlookers who weren’t concerned about things getting out of hand and they started jeering. Haozi’s complexion looked even worse and his face became flushed. His chest heaved violently. He sneered, “Then who are you sticking your ass out for? Li Shuo? What a whore!”
All of a sudden, someone grabbed Haozi’s shoulder. He was in so much pain that he recoiled. He turned around to see Li Shuo standing behind him with a look of indifference. “Step aside, you’re in my seat.”
Haozi brushed his hand away as he stood up abruptly. The two of them were similar heights. The atmosphere turned hostile all at once.
The birthday boy rushed over to help smooth things over. “Haozi. Haozi, you’ve had too much to drink. Come here and have some supper.” He dragged Haozi along, hoping to take him aside.
Haozi pushed his hand away, pointing at Li Shuo as he mumbled, “What the heck do you want?”
“I’d like to sit back in my seat.” Li Shuo’s gaze was as sharp as a knife as he scrutinised Haozi.
Haozi was wondering if there was a way out of this situation. Wen Xiaohui had already stood up and he was tugging Li Shuo. “Li-dage, we should leave.”
Li Shuo apologised to the birthday boy, then he escorted Wen Xiaohui out.
————————————-
Once Wen Xiaohui left the bar, he squatted on the ground as a result of his weak legs.
“Xiaohui, I’ll take you to the hotel.”
Wen Xiaohui giggled, taking out a bottle of wine from behind his back. “I grabbed a bottle, let me finish it first.”
Li Shuo frowned as he said, “Xiaohui, you shouldn’t drink any more. You’ll feel awful tomorrow.”
“So what. Anyway… Anyway, I don’t have to go to work.” Wen Xiaohui put the mouth of the bottle to his lips as he gulped a few giant mouthfuls.
Li Shuo took the bottle away from him and drank the rest of the wine. “Look, it’s all gone. You should get some rest.”
Wen Xiaohui grabbed the wine bottle, tipping it upside down and shaking it. When he saw that it was actually empty, he flung the bottle on the ground angrily. “Damn, you’re all trying to make life fucking difficult for me.”
Li Shuo sighed.
“Who does that idiot think he is? He said I3 was slutty, but was I bothering him? I’m still a fucking virgin!”
Li Shuo burst out laughing.
Wen Xiaohui sniffled as he lamented, “Fucking hell, I’m still a virgin at this age. Why am I such a wimp?” He let out a massive belch, and everything started spinning.
“Okay, you should go back to get some sleep. The effects of the wine you drank will get even stronger. You’re still able to walk, but soon you won’t be able to move. Be good. Don’t make me waste too much energy, okay?”
Wen Xiaohui was in a daze as he nodded.
Li Shuo supported him as he got into a taxi which took him to a nearby hotel.

Translator’s note:
I’ve seen some questions on social media recently asking why Wen Xiaohui rejected Li Shuo when he’s so perfect. I think this chapter is clear in explaining why Xiaohui, who thinks more with his heart than his head, ultimately decides that Li Shuo is not the right guy for him. Li Shuo’s story continues in ‘Winner Takes All.’

Li Shuo was right. When Wen Xiaohui arrived at the hotel, he was nearly unable to walk a single step and he felt like he was going to fall over. Li Shuo and a security guard helped him upstairs.
Wen Xiaohui collapsed on the king-sized bed, feeling like the ceiling was spinning round and round. Li Shuo’s voice sounded as though it was coming from outer space. “Sleep well. I’m going to buy you some hangover cures.”
“What time…?” croaked Wen Xiaohui.
“Pardon?”
“What time is it?”
“It’s 12.30 a.m.”
“It’s over.” Wen Xiaohui said dejectedly.
“What’s over?”
“His birthday… is over.” Wen Xiaohui’s voice was so quiet that it almost couldn’t be heard.
Li Shuo didn’t hear him properly and just treated it as if Wen Xiaohui was spouting nonsense. As he was about to leave, he heard Wen Xiaohui’s mobile phone ringing. It was most likely someone who was close to Wen Xiaohui if they were calling at this hour. He took out the mobile phone and saw that the person calling was Luo Yi. He answered the phone without a second thought. “Hi.”
The other end of the line was momentarily silent. “Li Shuo.”
“Yes, it’s me. You remember me?”
“You and him are still together… Where are you?”
“Still?” Li Shuo thought it was an inappropriate use of the word, but he didn’t dwell on it. “We’re at XX Hotel. Xiaohui drank too much, so I’m looking after him.”
“I’ll come and pick him up,” replied Luo Yi quickly.
Li Shuo was stunned. “Oh, great.” He wasn’t sure if was reading too much into it, but he felt that Luo Yi’s tone was a bit weird.
“Can you message me his room number and leave the key card for the room with reception along with my name? Then you should go home and rest. I won’t trouble you any further,” said Luo Yi frostily.
Li Shuo frowned and he massaged the area in between his eyebrows. He felt that after drinking, his thinking ability had declined. Now wasn’t the time to be analysing the strangeness of Luo Yi’s tone. He said, “I’ll stay here to watch him until you arrive. Also, I was planning to get him some hangover cures. Can you buy some for him on your way over?”
Luo Yi hung up.
Li Shuo stared at his mobile phone blankly for a while, then shook his head. Exhaustion and tiredness eroded his consciousness. The room that he booked for himself was on the same floor, so he decided he was going to go there to sleep once Luo Yi arrived.
He put the mobile phone at the top of the bed and lay down next to Wen Xiaohui. The bed was large, but Wen Xiaohui had rolled over in his sleep and he had coincidentally rolled next to Li Shuo. Li Shuo used his fingertips to brush away the hair from Wen Xiaohui’s fringe. He couldn’t help but curl the corners of his lips up into a smile after seeing Wen Xiaohui’s boyish appearance while sleeping, and he gently placed a kiss on Wen Xiaohui’s forehead. “Sleep well.”
He’d been dozing off for a while when the room’s doorbell rang. Li Shuo dragged himself out of bed to open the door.
Luo Yi was standing at the door, giving Li Shuo a cold reception. He stared at Li Shuo without blinking.
“Oh, hi.” Li Shuo was about to tilt his body sideways to let Luo Yi pass, but Luo Yi had already entered the room and either accidentally or purposely bumped into Li Shuo’s shoulder.
Li Shuo, who was leaning on the cupboard by the door, straightened his neck and kneaded his throbbing temples.
Luo Yi arrived at the bedroom to see Wen Xiaohui curled up on the bed. The white bed sheets were tousled – it clearly looked as though two people had been lying on the bed. He narrowed his eyes.
Li Shuo yawned. “You can look after him. I’m in room 1805. Get in touch if you need anything.”
Luo Yi didn’t turn around, otherwise Li Shuo would have seen the murderous look in his eyes.
Li Shuo opened the door, then he left.
Luo Yi took his jacket off. He sat at the edge of the bed, quietly watching Wen Xiaohui.
Wen Xiaohui smacked his lips and started muttering in his sleep. It appeared as though his sleep wasn’t very restful.
Luo Yi caressed his cheek tenderly. He whispered, “Xiaohui-ge, get up and have some hangover cures.”
Wen Xiaohui mumbled to himself, turning over and hugging Luo Yi around the waist.
Luo Yi dipped his head and kissed him on the cheek. “Get up. You can sleep some more after your medicine.”
Wen Xiaohui opened his hazy eyes, but in reality, he couldn’t see properly and the dim wall lamp only projected a blurry shadow. He opened his mouth, saying in a hoarse voice, “Li-dage…”
Luo Yi’s body immediately went stiff. He asked in a deep voice, “What… did you say?”
“Li-dage.” Wen Xiaohui whispered, “Are we going to drink some more?”
Luo Yi clenched his fists; his expression looked somewhat sinister. He leaned over, pressed his lips tightly against Wen Xiaohui’s lips, licking them roughly.
Wen Xiaohui’s brain was already lacking in oxygen and at this moment, he felt almost suffocated by the intense kiss. He grabbed onto Luo Yi’s shoulder subconsciously, as he mumbled, “Li-dage, don’t…”
Luo Yi was livid as he bit down on Wen Xiaohui’s lip. He roared, “Take a proper look at who I am!”
The bite wasn’t serious, but it was painful enough to make Wen Xiaohui shudder. He tried his best to open his eyes. After a period of time that lasted four or five seconds when his vision was out of focus, he asked tentatively, “Luo Yi?”
Luo Yi replied gruffly, “Yes, it’s me and not your Li-dage.”
“Luo Yi?” Wen Xiaohui stretched out his arms with difficulty and hugged Luo Yi’s neck. He whispered, “Are you alright?”
Luo Yi couldn’t resist bringing Wen Xiaohui’s slender body into his embrace. His body was warm and alluring.
“Luo Yi. Luo Yi!” Wen Xiaohui exclaimed in quick succession, but his voice was so low that it seemed like he was sobbing. “Are you okay?”
Luo Yi’s heart felt pained. He gently stroked Wen Xiaohui’s back. “I’m okay.”
“Luo Yi, are you okay? Luo Yi?” Wen Xiaohui repeated these words over and over again, until he started to sob quietly.
Luo Yi kissed the moist corners of Wen Xiaohui’s eyes and his warm cheeks. “I’m okay. I’m okay.”
Wen Xiaohui took the initiative and parted his lips to let Luo Yi’s invading tongue and the taste of his scorching passion enter. Luo Yi’s body became warmer and warmer – his blood felt like it was boiling. He kissed Wen Xiaohui’s lips impatiently and frantically while he started to unbutton Wen Xiaohui’s shirt.
Wen Xiaohui clung onto Luo Yi’s neck, running his fingers through Luo Yi’s dense locks. The intense kiss had stripped away all of his rationality and Luo Yi’s hand skimming across his skin made his body burn even more.
“Luo Yi… Argh…”
Luo Yi could hardly wait as he stripped Wen Xiaohui of his clothes. It was exactly what he’d wished for that afternoon – the present that he wanted above all else – was right there before his eyes. In his arms.
The pair’s lust was uncontrollable once evoked, as it engulfed their rationality with ease.
Luo Yi kissed and caressed Wen Xiaohui, leaving behind traces of himself on Wen Xiaohui’s body. Wen Xiaohui continued to struggle in his state between confusion and alertness before he eventually succumbed to the whirlpool of confusion.
When Luo Yi entered forcefully, Wen Xiaohui felt like he was a fish that’d been tossed ashore – the fate of his body was not in his own control. It was completely at the whim of Luo Yi.
The explosive energy of Luo Yi’s young and well-built body was intimidating. He relentlessly invaded the body that sent him into a frenzy, until Wen Xiaohui’s thoughts and feelings were in disarray. Wen Xiaohui’s voice became so hoarse, he couldn’t even utter a moan.
That night was long beyond compare; it was as though Luo Yi had been waiting for this day for such a long time that it couldn’t readily draw to a close.
Finally, Wen Xiaohui’s murmurs intermingled with his cries of happiness and pleas for mercy. He was already delirious and he could only drift along to Luo Yi’s motions in the Ocean of Lust1.
Luo Yi’s response was each thrust becoming more intense than the last.
They slept in each other’s arms until dawn.
Luo Yi was woken up by the sound of his mobile phone ringing. He answered the phone and a hoarse voice emerged from his larynx: “Speak.”
He remained silent while he listened, then he said, “I’ll come over now.”
After putting down the mobile phone, Luo Yi tried to move his other hand, but it was completely numb after Wen Xiaohui had slept on it for half the night. He gently lifted Wen Xiaohui’s head and retracted his arm. He quietly admired Wen Xiaohui’s serene sleeping expression.
Wen Xiaohui’s eyes were a bit puffy as a result of crying last night. His nose looked red and his lips were even more scarlet and swollen after being kissed by Luo Yi. Part of his shoulder was exposed beyond the duvet – it was smooth, round and fair. The messy strands of hair dangled on his face, appearing languid and sexy.
Luo Yi’s gaze was so gentle that he himself wasn’t aware of it. He caressed Wen Xiaohui’s forehead, his cheek and his clavicle. When he recalled how this person belonged to him, his mind buzzed with an indescribable sense of satisfaction.
He placed a few kisses on Wen Xiaohui’s shoulder, wanting to kiss his entire body in this manner.
Wen Xiaohui was in a deep sleep after drinking and expending too much energy last night, and there was no sign of him waking up. Luo Yi continued to watch him like this for a while before he left the comfort of Wen Xiaohui’s duvet. He put his clothes on and departed quietly.
———————————————
When Li Shuo pushed open the door to Wen Xiaohui’s room, he saw Wen Xiaohui sleeping soundly, curled up in a duvet. In order to not wake him, Li Shuo put the breakfast on the table quietly, then he boiled some water.
The sun was already high in the sky2 by the time Wen Xiaohui opened his eyes. In the instant that he regained consciousness, all that he felt was pain and even more pain – headache, tender eyes, sore throat, lower back pain, and also… There was also the lower part of his body, the place that was too embarrassing to mention, which was…
Wen Xiaohui’s eyes widened suddenly as if he’d awoken from a dream, feeling disorientated.
“Xiaohui, you’re awake.” Li Shuo’s crisp voice sounded as he brought over some coffee.
Wen Xiaohui stared blankly at Li Shuo. His brain was still so confused that it was like a sticky paste.
Li Shuo rested his hand on Wen Xiaohui’s forehead. “You feel a little warm. Are you okay?”
“I… How could I…?” Although Wen Xaohui had been a virgin for 22 years, he didn’t lack knowledge of sex. He’d carefully done some research before, so he knew that the unusual pain in his lower body was definitely not caused by constipation or anything of a similar nature. Furthermore, his brain was filled with hazy depictions of love making, which were too realistic to be a product of his sexual fantasies.
Did he sleep with Li Shuo?!
