Wen Niannan’s throat was dry and in pain, he struggled to sit up, took the jar from the night table pouring a glass of water.
After drinking water, his head was sober. As soon as he lowered the glass, he heard a quarrel downstairs. He heard Gu Yansheng’s voice, and fear could be seen in his eyes, he hid in the blanket.
The fight downstairs became more intense, Wen Niannan was wondering about what was going on, hesitating, he lifted the blanket getting out of bed carefully.
Looking for support, he held the handrail with difficulty, step by step he walking down the stairs, her head was still aching. Out of the blue Wen Niannan stopped when he heard her mother’s voice.
There was a never-ending conversation between the two people in the living room. He stood there, trying to listen to the argument between the mother and son. The tears suddenly slipped from his eyes running from them to his chin till it fell to the cold ground.
Wen Niannan felt as if he was in an ice cellar.
Everything became in that way… It turned out that he was going to propose to Shen Luoan… It turned out that it was because of him that the mother and son didn’t get along… It turned out that he would rather cut off the relationship with his family than be with him…
Cut off the relationship… no…
He wiped the tears off his face, going down the stairs while supporting himself, just in time to see Lu Yun raising his hand to hit Gu Yansheng.
Lu Yun was the first to react, looking at Wen Niannan’s red eyes she knew that he had heard all the discussion, Lu Yun was afraid to frighten him so she walked slowly to him.
“Nian Nian, you finally woke up, why did you get down? Go to bed and lie down. How could you get out of bed just after you woke up? Mom will help you to go upstairs.”
Wen Niannan glanced at Lu Yun with no life in his eyes, then he looked at Gu Yansheng, something seemed to have changed in his eyes.
Lu Yun turned back shouting at Gu Yansheng who was standing in the distance: “Gu Yansheng! What are you doing over there? Come on, can you at least help Nian Nian?”
“Since he can come down, why can’t he go up by himself?”
Zhou Yuanfeng, standing behind him, kicked him out of sudden, Gu Yansheng looked back at him with his pained leg.
Reluctantly walked over with an irritated face, gritting his teeth, he said: “Okay now, he’s sick and weak, I will carry him up.”
“No need…I can go up by myself…”
Without waiting for him to finished speaking, Gu Yansheng took him into his arms not caring less about his refusals. As soon as Wen Niannan was about to speak, Gu Yansheng stopped him with a glance. He lowered his head close to his ear, he whispered: “Don’t play tricks, don’t move either…”
“Don’t move too much, Nian Nian, your body is still very weak, don’t forget to cover him with the blanket. We’ll go up in a bit, Yuanfeng and I have something to discuss.”
Lu Yun whispered to the person in Gu Yansheng’s arms: “Niannian, mom will go to see you in a moment, if this kid dares to bully you, tell your mother.

Gu Yansheng carried the person upstairs with a grumpy face, but he climbed the stairs too quickly, he almost slipped, the man in his arms threw his arms around his neck in a shock.

Gu Yansheng pushed the door walking towards the bed, he softly put Wen Niannan in the bed. Then he turned to leave.
“Wait” Wen Niannan lowered his head, squeezing lightly the sheets as if he had made up his mind.
Gu Yansheng turned back with impatience, he raised his eyebrows to look at the person in front of him: “What do you want?”
“Do you really prefer to break all relations with your family to divorce me?” Do you really hate me that much?”
“Yes, why you’re asking that if you know the answer.”
“Okay, I understand.”
Understand what? What did he mean by that? Gu Yansheng was a little astonished. He didn’t understand what Wen Niannan was talking about.
Zhou Yuanfeng in the living room poured a cup of coffee, offering to Lu Yun, he sat in front of her saying: “What do you want to do with this, Auntie?”
“What else can I do? That scumbag is anxious to get divorced. Nian Nian is such a sensible and obedient child, why can’t he see him like that?”
Lu Yun was furious with him because when it was about the company’s business, Gu Yansheng was very careful, but out of it, he wasn’t able to distinguish between right and wrong.

Lu Yun opened the door walking in. As soon as she entered, she smelled the tick smell of the cigarette, glaring at the man in front of the window, she said: “Gu Yansheng immediately put out that cigarette. Don’t you know that Nian Nian can’t smell the smoke? ”
Gu Yansheng extinguished the cigarette with a somber face, he turned his head frowning: “He’s really a porcelain doll.”
“ASheng, it’s enough, stop saying nonsense, Auntie has something to say.” Zhou Yuan Feng went over to open the window letting the air fill the room.
“You don’t need to go to the company for a while, I’ll stay in the country for a month. During this month, you’ll be staying at home being responsible to take care of Nian Nian until he gets better. ”
When Wen Niannan heard it, he looked back at Yansheng in surprise noticing that the other person was also looking at him, but when he met his gaze, he turned his head angrily.
“Huh? Me taking care of him? Are you doing this for his physical sake or for the control of the company to take me out of the way? I knew my mother’s return wasn’t just for the video, as expected of her. ”
“There’s no need…I’m getting better…”
“Shut up! You don’t need to make out of this a show!” Gu Yansheng’s body was full of fire, with no secure place to release it, he opened his mouth to yell at Wen Niannan, he made his tantrum kicking over the table, making a mess of the ground.
“Who are you talking to?”
Wen Niannan didn’t want to force Gu Yansheng, he was just about to refuse one more time, but a glance of Lu Yun stopped him from doing it.
“Don’t forget that Nian Nian and Yuanfeng both have shares in the Gu Group, and the board of executives isn’t yours!”
Seeing that the mother and son were about to argue again, Zhou Yuanfeng rapidly pulled away Gu Yansheng telling him: “Follow me to the study, we need to discuss something.”
The door was closed with a bang.
A bitter expression appeared on Wen Niannan’s face. His headache grew worse and worse because of the smoke, he couldn’t stop coughing, and his head was about to crack, but he endured it, he didn’t want to show weakness in front of Gu Yansheng.
“Isn’t Nian Nian feeling well?”
The man in the bed didn’t answer, he couldn’t speak, perhaps it was because of the headache or something else.
“Does it hurt? Where does it hurt? The pain in your body is far less than the pain in your heart?”
Wen Niannan lowered the hand holding his head, he sobbed with tears in his eyes: “Mom, I…”
“Did you hear that? When we were talking in the living room.”
Wen Niannan nodded softly: “Yeah.”
“Mom…”
“Huh? What’s wrong?”
“I…I want to divorce, is that ok?”
“You…what did you say?” Incredulous, Lu Yun looked at him, unable to believe what Wen Niannan had said.
“Yansheng can’t get away from his family. Both grandpa and mom have high expectations for him. You can’t get along because of me, and Yansheng can’t ruin his future because of me…”
“Enough of that nonsense!” Said Lu Yun in an angry murmur, Niannan stop doing any movement.
“That boy got you all wrong. I told Yuanfeng to delete the video, all the comments and all the gossip on the Internet will be gone today. I know that you’re in pain because that bastard of Gu Yansheng didn’t do anything. Mom will do it for you, we will teach him.”
“No.” Said Wen Niannan stopping her when he saw that Lu Yun was going to criticize Gu Yansheng.
“Mom, you don’t have to do anything for me. There is no need to damage more your relationship because of me, as long as I leave, he’ll be happy, right…this won’t be like this anymore, without smiling neither of us…the best will be to agree to the divorce… ”
Lu Yun sighed, sitting on one side of the bed, she held his hand, whispering to him: “Nian Nian, I know you’re accepting this divorce because of his sake. He did that to make you accept his deal. You can’t do something like that, you can’t let Shen Luoan win.”
Wen Niannan raised desperate his hands to cover his eyes, he cried like a little child, sobbing intermittently: “What can I do…what else can I do, will he be happy if I agree to divorce? I didn’t do anything to make him hate me for just getting married to me, why is it like this now…”
Their meet after a few years… that warm embrace…gentle eyes …and…the hot kisses…
All those illusions were created at that time by the humble love for Gu Yansheng thinking that Gu Yansheng loved him as well, happy as if he was in the most wonderful dream.
Later, Shen Luoan disappeared…Gu Yansheng’s eyes changed drastically when they were looking at him. He didn’t know what he had done wrong at the time. Until that glass of wine was poured on his head by Gu Yansheng at the wedding reception; and when he felt the mocking eyes of everyone on him, he knew his dream was over.
It was all fake… when he woke up from his dream…
Lu hugged the poor child in pain patting his back to comfort him: “Don’t worry, Mom is coming back for your sake. She will give that boy the lesson he deserves.”
“Nian Nian, Mama won’t give up on you. Mom has seen everything you have done for him. If you leave now, all you’ve done over the years will be in vain. He will be at home taking care of you until you’re recovered, will you give him another chance?”
“I…I feel that no matter how hard I try, it will be useless, the divorce is the best ending for us…I don’t want to go on…”
