Desharow Mermaid - Chap 48
It seems that to prevent me from making trouble, the thick and long fish tail under Aeglares was curled around my ankle, and his arm was around my neck, with his chest resting against the back of my head. This intimate posture made me feel embarrassed and nervous because I didn’t know when Aeglares would suddenly lose control of his animal instincts. I was in his lair, completely at his mercy.
So I decided to close my eyes and pretend to be asleep.
Aeglares didn’t seem to have any intention of doing anything to me for the moment. His chest rose and fell rhythmically, and his breath was long and steady like the sea breeze, gently brushing against my head. His basketball player-like, long and wide webbed claws rested on my hand, as if we were really intimate homosexual partners.
This guy really didn’t seem to have any plans. I stole a glance at him and saw that his usually glowing eyes were closed, and the water droplets on his eyelashes dripped down along his straight nose like a statue, calm and quiet. Aeglares seemed to be really sleeping, and he had already fallen asleep. I didn’t dare wake him up, but I also didn’t dare sneak away while he was sleeping.
It was undoubtedly a failure. I swear I haven’t even pulled my foot out from under his incredibly heavy tail, and Aeglares would wake up.
I closed my eyes again, took a few deep breaths, and slowly relaxed my stiff body. But the hormonal scent that permeated the lair made it impossible for me to fall asleep. My heart was beating fast, and I was sweating all over, even though I was lying still, I felt like my body was rapidly consuming energy. I lay there for a while, and my stomach made a series of grumbling sounds.
“Oh… damn it!”
I swallowed my saliva and realized that I hadn’t eaten anything for a long time. Aeglares was obviously awakened by my movement, he opened his eyes, and I awkwardly touched my stomach: “Hey… um… I’m hungry.”
He raised his webbed claw and pressed it against my stomach, looking at me with a smirk. I was really starving, and he seemed to know that he had found my weakness. Seeing my expression, he slyly hooked up the corner of his mouth and laughed
I can provide you with an English translation of this passage:
His webbed paw lightly pinched my chin and brought me closer to his side. I had no idea what he wanted, but then I saw his pointed ear move towards my lips, as if indicating that I should do something.
I immediately realized that he wanted me to kiss him – or more accurately, to lick him – as a “prepaid reward” for food, just like last time. It made me feel like a giant dolphin, and he was the trainer. He was feeding me and taming me, while I had to obediently depend on him.
It was ridiculous!
I stood there, but my stomach betrayed me and growled even louder than before. The strong hunger forced me to give up my resistance, and reluctantly, I licked Ageres’ ear. But he didn’t stop there – he moved his cheek closer to my eyes and looked at me with a smirk.
Sly…
I cursed him silently in my heart, closed my eyes, and licked his cheek. But then he stretched out his paw and gently touched my lips, his eyes full of ambiguous desire. It was obvious that licking his fingers had a sexual connotation. Was I supposed to lick his entire body to get food? I’d rather starve.
“Hey, you!” I glared at him with a red face, but he just grinned and grabbed my wrist, licking it back and forth with his tongue. I was petrified and didn’t know what to do. After licking me, Ageres gave me a meaningful glance, curved his tail, and jumped out of the hole. I was still in shock as he disappeared into the darkness, leaving only the sound of water in the distance.”

I covered my aching chest and crawled to the edge of the cave to watch him hunt. However, my eyes suddenly widened as I took in the breathtaking view before me. The cave was indeed located on a steep cliff at the outer edge of an island, but it wasn’t very high above sea level. Agerres could easily jump up to it, and there were many adjacent reefs around it, like a staircase leading straight down to the sea.
Looking out, all I could see was the vast, endless sea. Moonlight spilled over the surface, casting shimmering reflections that blended seamlessly with the starry sky above.
A sea breeze blew up from below, lifting my clothes and hair, making me feel as though I was flying. The moon was so close, I could almost reach out and touch it, as if I was sailing on a spaceship through the vast galaxy.
Witnessing such a spectacular and mysterious scene, my heart was filled with joy and I lost track of time, lost in this vast world. Suddenly, a black shadow rushed out of the sea like a sharp arrow. I came back to my senses and saw the agile figure of a half-human, half-fish creature crossing a graceful arc in the moonlight. As it fell into the water, it created a splashing shower of water, like a scattering of stars. But it was as if it had pierced not the sea, but directly into my heart, stirring up an unquiet wave.
My heart seemed to be splashed like a drop of water into my throat.
I stared blankly in that direction for a while before reluctantly turning my gaze away. Otherwise, I was afraid I would jump into the sea and swim with Aegirius.
I reminded myself that I should take advantage of his absence and quickly explore the terrain inside the cave to prepare for our future escape. With that in mind, I groped my way into the cave step by step.
Many floating creatures like fireflies were in the depths of the cave, emitting small blue light clusters, which provided good illumination, allowing me to see the structure of Aegirius’s nest. In the center of the cave, there was a sunken pit filled with flowing water, like a natural hot tub. I guessed that the bottom should lead directly to the ocean, and perhaps this was where he slept.
I carefully walked around the edge of the pit and found a sub-cave entrance on the left side that was big enough for half a person to pass through. It was like an oval window, but not deep, and I could see clearly with one glance. It was a dead end without any other exit. I couldn’t help but notice that there seemed to be a pile of human items inside, and I curiously leaned in with half of my body to take a closer look.
Immediately, to my surprise, I found that all of them were human items. They were miscellaneous and had everything from canned oil, large pearls, valuable ivory products, red wine, white wine, and beer. These items were common in the past Eurasian trade, and in addition, there were some commonly used navigational tools, many of which were from the past, such as sextants and sheepskin navigation maps. The oldest was an eighteenth-century single-tube telescope, and a ship’s wheel that looked like it was forcefully removed from a ship!
My goodness, just when I was marveling at what I saw, I actually saw a tattered yet thick English dictionary—this is probably why Aegirius could use English. He really is a studious merman…
I randomly flipped through the dictionary and saw that some words were marked with special symbols by a ballpoint pen. This must have been left behind by a human who had used this book before. I flipped through it a few times and unexpectedly found a folded letter inside. When I opened it, I could recognize that it was filled with many scribbles, but I wasn’t sure what language it was because it was too messy and the ink was too smudged to tell.
I instinctively put it in my pocket because perhaps it recorded the last encounter of the person who met Aegirius…
These things are enough to prove that Ageres is at least 300 years old. They are evidence of his long oceanic career, some of the spoils he brought back, or perhaps mementos.
And I may not be the first human he brought back to his lair… nor was I his first “spouse,” considering the significant age difference between us.
Lost in thought, a sour feeling suddenly rose in my heart, but I immediately forced myself to dismiss these strange thoughts and continued to focus on the dictionary. I flipped through it at random, but my mind was in disarray, feeling a bit restless.
Damn it, Desaro, what are you thinking about! Think about how to leave here later; that’s the real issue. What does it matter if this beast has brought back a few humans to his lair!
I frowned and looked in another direction. There seemed to be other entrances to the depths of the cave. But just as I was about to leave the small cave I was in, I suddenly heard a commotion outside. I immediately realized that Ageres had returned and hurriedly retreated. But as soon as I reached the edge of the pool, Ageres appeared unexpectedly at the cave entrance, and my feet slipped, causing me to stumble and fall in.
Damn it, what bad luck!
I choked on water in panic, coughing several times. Just as I was trying to climb out of the water, I came face to face with Agerres. I was so scared that I almost fell back into the water, but he quickly grabbed me by the waist with his webbed claws and curled his tail around my legs, lifting me out of the pool and onto the ground. I couldn’t see Agerres’ expression in the dim light, but I felt a wave of panic because I had just been looking through his private collection.
I knew he must have discovered what I had been up to, but I didn’t know if he would be angry with me. When his webbed claw reached for my neck, I instinctively shuddered, afraid that he would choke me to death. However, he only held my head and neck down and brought his mouth closer to my chest, licking it.
I stiffened and looked down, only to see that the wound on my chest had reopened due to the recent movements, and blood had already stained my clothes. Agerres’ tongue circled around my wound before sliding down in the direction of the blood flow, biting open my clothes, and preparing to lick my lower abdomen. I quickly shrunk back, using my hands to hold his ears and stop him from going further down. “Hey… don’t lick me anymore. I’m feeling much better now!”
Damn it, if he continues down there, I’m going to have a reaction…
I gritted my teeth, feeling goosebumps where his tongue had touched. But my words had no effect on Agerres, who continued to lick down, his slippery ear wings easily sliding out of my mouth. His tongue scraped along the bloodstain from my chest, causing my lower abdomen to twitch sensitively.
I could only cling tightly to my waistband, my only line of defense. I knew that if I were alone with Agerres, something dangerous would happen, but I didn’t want it to happen now. My body couldn’t handle the torment of this beast!
But my defense only backfired. Agerres’ webbed claw moved from my neck to my pants, lifting his gaze to look at me. I turned pale and stuttered, “No, I can’t.”
“Wet… you should take off your clothes…”
Agares spoke in a nearly commanding tone, his words rumbling low and his moist breath spraying onto my face. The overwhelming scent of hormones hit me, and I felt my vision darken.
“It’s fine, I’ll just wear these. Wait a bit and I’ll be done!” I protested loudly, grabbing my pants tighter. If it were any other man, I could confidently flaunt my body without a care, but facing Agares, it was no different from jumping into shark-infested waters.
“Take off…” Agares opened his mouth, his tone full of threat.
A chill ran down my spine.
In the end, my resistance only resulted in my pants being torn into pieces and my shirt being ripped off, leaving me in nothing but a pitiful pair of underwear. Fortunately, Agares didn’t have the intention of making me fully naked, and after my fierce struggle to protect my crotch, he reluctantly stopped.
I curled up like a shrimp, glaring at Agares with embarrassment and anger but too afraid to lash out. He, on the other hand, casually took out a few fish from behind me. They appeared to be salmon or a similarly nutritious and tender type of fish.
My hunger forced me to swallow my saliva uncontrollably. I watched as Agares used his webbed claws to gut and fillet the fish. Only when he handed me a long strip of fish did I snap out of my daze.
Under these circumstances, expecting cooked food was out of the question. I eagerly took the food in front of me and took a tentative bite.
To my surprise, the fish had none of the expected strong fishy taste. It was only slightly salty with a hint of sweetness. I opened my appetite and wolfed down all the fish that Agares had brought, feeling fully satisfied.
As I was belching with contentment, I heard several long calls from outside the cave. I turned to look and was shocked to see many mermaids suddenly appear in the water, all looking up at Agares and me, as if expecting something.
