Don’t Mess with the Puppy! - Vol.1 Chapter 2 Part 2
Heeseong was punished for putting the wireless earphones in the washing machine. His punishment was to accompany Yoon Chi-young to his dinner.
“I’m sorry, but our restaurant does not allow pets.”
They encountered a small obstacle, but Yoon Chi-young smiled, understood, and came up with a solution.
“Just stay here for a moment.”
‘You crazy bastard!’
Heeseong snarled and struggled, but he ended up in Yoon Chi-young’s coat pocket.
Yoon Chi-young protected the puppy nestled in his coat pocket with his hand. The size of the pocket was just right, and his hand was large enough to allow the puppy’s body to settle in comfortably.
Eventually, Heeseong, having given up, lay down in the pocket with a weary face.
‘So warm…’
Perhaps it was because of the injury, or because he had been tormented by Yoon Chi-young’s lips all day and had even waged war with his fingers, but Heeseong felt like he could fall asleep at any moment. However, a lingering tension kept him awake. It was the tension of being next to a cannibalistic wolf.
‘I wish I was in my brother’s pocket instead.’
When he was younger, his brother would put the tired Heeseong in a bag or pocket after a long day at work. Those were the times when his brother was also struggling in the organization, and that was his best way of taking care of Heeseong. Yet, it remained a fond memory because it was the only place where he could sleep soundly and warmly.
But if it was Yoon Chi-young, it was out of the question.
‘Is Yoon Chi-young playing with me now only to fatten me up and eat me later?’
Yoon Chi-young had rumors swirling around him of being a cannibalistic wolf, so there was no reason he couldn’t prey on a puppy. Suddenly, Yoon Chi-young’s kindness and the generous treats he provided seemed suspicious.
In the meantime, Yoon Chi-young was led somewhere by a staff member. Judging by the smell of food, it seemed to be a Korean traditional restaurant. The sound of a door opening suggested that Yoon Chi-young was guided to a reserved room.
“Oh, is that Yoon Chi-young?”
As the door opened, the voice of a young man, somehow familiar, was heard.
At this noise, Heeseong, who had been lying down wearily, perked up his ears. Why did the voice sound familiar? Heeseong’s black eyes widened.
Meanwhile, Yoon Chi-young continued the conversation.
“What brings me the honor?”
“Since when do we need a reason to meet?”
“Of course.”
Yoon Chi-young answered nonchalantly. His playful response was met with a somewhat forced laugh from the other party. Despite the casual interaction, it seemed that Yoon Chi-young held a higher status.
The other party then spoke in a more secretive tone.
“Hey, Yoon Chi-young. I’ll cover today’s expenses. In return, let’s visit the canine beastman casino together.”
“Ha…”
Yoon Chi-young sighed as if annoyed. In contrast, Heeseong inside the pocket perked up hopefully.
‘A canine beastman casino?’
If Yoon Chi-young agreed to go to the casino with the man, it could be the perfect opportunity for Heeseong to escape.
The man continued, trying to entice him further.
“If you come, those canine beastmen would dig up a corpse if you asked. Just help me out this one time.”
“What’s your goal?”
Yoon Chi-young seemed to have taken a seat. Since he hadn’t taken off his coat, Heeseong ended up nestled near his thigh. Heeseong tried to get out, but Yoon Chi-young’s hand securely blocked the round body of the puppy.
“There’s someone I’m looking for, but he’s been missing from the canine beastman casino lately. Even when I call, the canine beastmen won’t answer me.”
“It seems like someone must have taken them…” the other party muttered as if to himself. Heeseong, curious about who was speaking, bit Yoon Chi-young’s hand, a plea to be taken out of the pocket.
The man continued, “I even found out the name. It’s Gyeon Heeseong.”
‘Really? Is he looking for me?’
Heeseong waited with anticipation. Just moments ago, he had wanted to stay inside the coat, but now he was eager to show his face immediately. The person might be a canine beastman worried about him or an acquaintance of his brother, capable of rescuing him from this cannibalistic wolf.
However, Yoon Chi-young, while sipping on something, murmured as if annoyed, “It’s strange how many people are looking for that puppy…”
“Ah, I can’t stop thinking about it.”
‘Listen to me! Let me out!’
Heeseong, desperate, squirmed with all his might inside the pocket. Finally, Yoon Chi-young acknowledged him.
“Why? Want to come out?”
Yoon Chi-young murmured understandingly as he took Heeseong out, in a tone that seemed to indulge his complaints. However, there was a subtle enjoyment in his demeanor about the situation.
Heeseong, not caring about that, eagerly showed his face outside the coat. His fur was all staticky, but identifying the man looking for him was more pressing.
“Ah, when I see him, I’m definitely going to…”
Upon seeing the man, the puppy’s eyes filled with nothing but murderous intent.
Heeseong knew him too. They had already met, and he was just as displeasing to Heeseong as Yoon Chi-young.
“Bite his d*ck first.”
‘…Damn it…’
Unlike the handsome Yoon Chi-young, this was just a rude-looking horse beastman. And he was the very reason Heeseong had gotten in trouble with his brother.
It was Kwon Ki-hyuk, who had been hit in the face with chips by Heeseong during a poker game after asking for a blowjob.
Heeseong typically had trouble remembering other beastmen, but Kwon Ki-hyuk was an exception, vividly etched in his memory.
These were the words Heeseong heard when he first encountered Kwon Ki-hyuk. Clenching his fists from the very first word, Heeseong held back patiently, thinking of his brother. Especially since he was already under strict watch for a previous mishap.
His brother had cautioned him, knowing the political influence of Kwon Ki-hyuk’s family. But whether he was a politician’s son or not, to Heeseong, Kwon Ki-hyuk was nothing more than a perverted horse beastman.
And Heeseong later realized that Yoon Chi-young had been present in that game too.
Kwon Ki-hyuk had clearly directed that comment at Yoon Chi-young. At the time, Heeseong was too consumed with rage towards Kwon Ki-hyuk to notice, but recalling it now, the rumors about Yoon Chi-young cannibalizing his own kind seemed widespread. The prevalence of such rumors made them seem all the more credible.
Yet, Heeseong found the pervert even more detestable than the cannibalistic wolf.
“What’s with the puppy?”
Reunited with Kwon Ki-hyuk, he asked disdainfully, as if looking at something insignificant. It was typical of the horse clan, overflowing with unnecessary pride. Suddenly, he bared his teeth at the puppy as if to threaten it.
In response, Heeseong showed his own wariness. He growled, baring his fangs, and fidgeted on Yoon Chi-young’s arm as if anxious.
Yoon Chi-young, holding a beast in his arms, casually lifted his glass and replied:
“My puppy.”
“He’s not a beastman, just a real dog, right? Look at that temper. Barely bigger than a d*ck.”
Woof!
At Kwon Ki-hyuk’s mocking laughter, Heeseong barked sharply. Despite his body still aching and knowing he shouldn’t strain himself, he felt he would explode with anger if he didn’t express his fury somehow. Then, Yoon Chi-young, treating the fist-sized puppy with almost reverent care, stood up, petting it gently.
Yoon Chi-young, who had been soothing the puppy, approached Kwon Ki-hyuk, who was sitting across from them. Bringing the puppy close to Kwon Ki-hyuk’s face, he asked, “What’s wrong? Don’t like him?”
‘I f*cking hate him. He’s disgusting.’
The puppy seemed to understand, nodding its head. In the puppy’s eyes directed at Kwon Ki-hyuk, there was nothing but contempt and hatred.
Then, a gentle yet serious question was posed, “Then, do you want to eat him?”
‘What…?’
Feeling something was off, Heeseong desperately leaned his head back, catching sight of Yoon Chi-young’s handsome face looking down at him. His face was undeniably movie-star handsome, with naturally flowing black hair, bold yet appealing features, and soft eyes. Within those… lay the slightly dilated gray irises of a madman.
“Shall our puppy play with him? We could even put him on a leash, would you like to lead him around?”
“What the hell are you—ugh…!”
Yoon Chi-young had grabbed Kwon Ki-hyuk’s hair, pulling his head back forcefully so his face was fully visible. Panic seeped into Kwon Ki-hyuk’s expression, his exposed neck vein bulging. His breathing turned ragged with shock.
Tension swiftly filled the room, and Yoon Chi-young’s smile turned cold. His actions, while looking affectionately at the puppy, were cruel. It was then that Heeseong was reminded of Yoon Chi-young’s brutal wolf clan nature.
Kwon Ki-hyuk, catching his breath in panic, touched Yoon Chi-young’s solid arm and forced an awkward laugh.
“Hey, Yoon Chi-young… Haha. Your jokes are always, dammit.”
“Ah… Don’t like it?”
No matter what Kwon Ki-hyuk said, Yoon Chi-young only looked down at the puppy in his arms.
Heeseong was already vigorously shaking his head. Kwon Ki-hyuk was repulsive and undesirable to be near. In fact, Heeseong disliked all of the horse beastmen who took pride in flaunting their sexual prowess and size. Based on his experiences in the gambling den, the horse clan always enjoyed sexual jests, oblivious to the whispers behind their backs about their premature tendencies, much like wild horses.
After a moment, Yoon Chi-young slowly nodded in agreement.
“Right. Our puppy shouldn’t eat dirty things.”
“…Ha.”
Regardless of Kwon Ki-hyuk’s incredulous laughter, Yoon Chi-young disdainfully let go of his hair. Kwon Ki-hyuk’s face, strained with veins popping on his forehead, was pushed away in an ugly manner. Beside him, Yoon Chi-young casually wiped his hand on Kwon Ki-hyuk’s expensive-looking suit. The puppy watched this scene, alternating its gaze as if not understanding the dynamics.
‘Weren’t they friends?’
Heeseong had thought they were friends, but now Yoon Chi-young was treating Kwon Ki-hyuk as if he was merely a toy for his puppy.
“I’m too busy playing with the puppy.”
Yoon Chi-young sighed as if bored and returned to his seat. Afterward, he carefully placed Heeseong on the table like handling a precious gem. Thanks to this, the puppy found itself amidst an array of exquisite traditional Korean dishes.
Even with grilled short ribs in front of him, Heeseong was more intrigued by Yoon Chi-young’s bored remarks.
“I thought Assemblyman Kwon was about to make the news soon, so I thought we were preparing for that by meeting…”
“What?”
“There was no need for you to come all the way here.”
“What are you talking about, Yoon Chi-young?”
Kwon Ki-hyuk asked seriously. His hair, once sleekly styled, was now disheveled like a mad scientist’s. The forced smile on his face had vanished.
Witnessing the scene, Heeseong’s mood took an unexpected turn.
He had just seen the downfall of someone who tormented him, all too easily exposed. It was a hollow victory, yet Heeseong couldn’t help feeling a distasteful sense of satisfaction. The man was never worthy of sympathy to begin with.
The scum who had tried to corner him in the restroom attached to the room, intending to force himself on Heeseong.
Recalling the past, Heeseong didn’t hold back. Even limping on his hind legs, the puppy navigated through the food to approach Kwon Ki-hyuk. Yoon Chi-young, clearly observing, made no move to stop him, and Kwon Ki-hyuk was too preoccupied to notice the small puppy.
Heeseong heated up Kwon Ki-hyuk’s lower body just as he had wished.
“Why my dad? Just start with what it is… ugh, f*ck!”
Heeseong blatantly caused trouble by spilling hot soup right in front of Kwon Ki-hyuk.
Kwon Ki-hyuk, now with his lower body scalded as he desired, cursed and flailed about in a spectacle. His frantic attempts to cool his groin were comically reminiscent of a prancing pony.
“Are you okay?”
Even then, Yoon Chi-young seemed oblivious to Kwon Ki-hyuk’s distress, focusing only on comforting Heeseong in his arms. Within that embrace, the puppy maliciously glared at Kwon Ki-hyuk, eyes shining with spite.
“Did you want to spill that? Good job.”
Yoon Chi-young praised Heeseong, even for the mischief he caused, unlike his brother who always urged restraint. Heeseong puffed out his chest in a thrill of satisfaction, his fur bristling with pride.
And as Yoon Chi-young made to leave the room, Kwon Ki-hyuk detained him with a string of coarse curses.
“You bastard, what was that about earlier?”
“Ah.”
The smile vanished from Yoon Chi-young’s face. Seeing his icy gaze, Heeseong instinctively perked up his ears. It was instinctive. He sensed danger in provoking Yoon Chi-young at this moment.
Yoon Chi-young didn’t react with irritation. Instead, he gently placed Heeseong back into his coat pocket, but his murmured words carried an ominous tone.
“You shouldn’t see bad things, so stay here.”
‘I want to see it too!’
Heeseong tried to grasp Yoon Chi-young’s wrist with his front paws to avoid being put back into the pocket, but it was futile.
Then, Heeseong heard a heavy sound. The coat’s lapel fluttered vigorously, indicating Yoon Chi-young must have kicked something forcefully.
Crack.
It was the first time Heeseong had clearly heard the crisp sound of a bone breaking. The stifled gasps of Kwon Ki-hyuk struggling to breathe suggested he was in too much pain even to scream.
Soon, the brutal sounds faded, and the door opened, leaving only the clinking of fine dining utensils from the hall to be heard. Inside the pocket, Heeseong was enveloped in a strange sense of elation, his heart racing continuously.
It was the first time he caused trouble and didn’t get scolded for it. It was also the first time someone had taken his side.
