Don’t Mess with the Puppy! - Vol.1 Chapter 2 Part 20
In the end, the puppy received a doctor’s examination and was put on an IV. After spending two full days like a greenhouse flower, the pain subsided a bit, and he felt like he could live.
After a good night’s sleep, Heeseong woke up with a much better body.
“You’re awake?”
Yoon Chi-young looked down at the puppy who had opened his eyes languidly, as if he had been waiting. Gently caressing the puppy’s folded ears, he spoke shyly.
“I have a gift prepared for you.”
‘I don’t want it.’
The puppy sullenly turned his head. Anyway, what Yoon Chi-young would end up giving him was skinship like kisses. Heeseong had already experienced it a lot, so he had no particular expectations.
Then Yoon Chi-young spoke as if he had anticipated the reaction.
“It’s not a kiss.”
‘…It’s not?’
“I think the puppy will really like it.”
While speaking, Yoon Chi-young suddenly checked his wristwatch. It was past 2 a.m. However, Yoon Chi-young didn’t mind the late hour and asked the puppy in a voice filled with anticipation.
“Do you want to go see it together?”
‘Now?’
“We have to see it before it cools down.”
“…?”
The puppy tilted his head in puzzlement. Perhaps finding that cute, Yoon Chi-young slowly lifted the corners of his mouth and smiled. Doing that under the dim lighting made him look like a psychopath who had committed a suspicious act and was enjoying it alone. The puppy, who had only experienced his gentle side, now recalled that he was the organization’s boss.
It was bothersome, but he became a little curious. He said they had to see it before it cooled down. Heeseong thought maybe Yoon Chi-young had prepared a fancy meal for him.
“Let’s go.”
And so, the puppy ended up being dragged to Yoon Chi-young’s arms with his languid body.
The place Yoon Chi-young took the puppy to was about a 30-minute drive away.
Heeseong was lying in Yoon Chi-young’s arms in the car, dozing off. Perhaps because of the many unresolved emotions, he kept feeling drained. Especially the memory of being betrayed by his brother kept coming to mind, making him feel very heavy-hearted.
“I used some money and connections after a long time to give a gift to the puppy.”
‘What kind of gift even requires connections…?’
Fortunately, thanks to Yoon Chi-young, those desperate emotions subsided. Heeseong wondered what on earth this man-eating wolf was thinking, whether he really liked him, but gave up. There was no way to understand a lunatic.
The car stopped in front of an abandoned building on the outskirts of the city. The wolf clan organization members quietly got out of three black cars, including the one Yoon Chi-young was riding in.
They all entered the abandoned building as if it had been prearranged. Heeseong was snuggled deep in Yoon Chi-young’s arms.
The old building was very cold even after entering. Although he had finished shedding, the white fur coat couldn’t block out the cold of December. The puppy, shivering from the cold, decided to use Yoon Chi-young as a heater.
‘Hold me.’
The puppy roughly scratched at his chest to convey the meaning of wrapping him in his clothes. Fortunately, he seemed to understand right away, and Yoon Chi-young tightly wrapped the puppy in his coat as if he had been waiting and asked.
“Are you cold, darling?”
‘Lunatic.’
Heeseong was now used to Yoon Chi-young’s nonsense, so he just ignored it.
The puppy ended up leaning the back of his head against Yoon Chi-young’s chest. The puppy’s small face poked out in the middle of the tall man’s coat. Behind the puppy, who was fiercely shining his eyes, the wolf clan organization members solemnly followed.
Yoon Chi-young walked into the abandoned building with his long legs. Inside the building, various materials were scattered around as if construction was about to begin.
‘A gift that even required connections is in a place like this?’
It was somehow suspicious. Heeseong tried to grasp the situation by turning his head that was poking out of the coat this way and that, but he couldn’t make heads or tails of it.
The place Yoon Chi-young stood was in front of a warehouse closed with an iron door.
The puppy examined the suspicious iron door from his arms. From above, Yoon Chi-young had the organization members turn on the building’s lights. Several bright fluorescent lights were turned on, but the light was weak, so the building still felt eerie.
“Sit here and take a look.”
Finally, Yoon Chi-young laid out a blanket in front of the door and put the puppy down on it. Then he stood next to the iron door, which was about the same height as him, with a bright expression.
‘What kind of nonsense did you do again?’
The only audience, the puppy, had no particular reaction. He just sat there sullenly, looking ahead while wrapped in a blanket against the cold. In front of him, Yoon Chi-young spoke in a voice filled with anticipation, albeit shyly.
“This is the gift I prepared for the puppy.”
‘Just show it to me.’
As the puppy barked once as if urging him, Yoon Chi-young even counted to himself and opened the iron door. As the iron door opened with an eerie sound, a dim light from a distant bulb leaked out from inside.
When the iron door was fully opened, a collapsing warehouse came into view. It was an old place that looked like it would be used to store unused items. Seeing the inside, Heeseong could immediately recognize the identity of the gift Yoon Chi-young had prepared.
‘…Crazy bastard…’
Inside was the horse beastman Kwon Ki-hyuk, on all fours in his underwear.
The puppy’s eyes widened in surprise. Kwon Ki-hyuk’s body was covered in bruises, and his once clean face was a mess. Moreover, a strange rope was tied around his neck, and there were blood stains here and there. Still, he seemed to have some consciousness left, as Kwon Ki-hyuk trembled excessively whenever he heard Yoon Chi-young’s voice.
Standing next to him, Yoon Chi-young introduced the gift, feeling proud yet shy.
“Here, it’s your gift.”
“……”
“What do you think? Do you like it?”
Despite the barrage of questions, the puppy just stared at the inside of the warehouse with a shocked and frozen face.
‘…Fuck.’
The reason he deliberately restrained his reaction was because of Yoon Chi-young. He was standing next to the door, looking at the puppy with anticipation-filled eyes as if he wanted to see the reaction right away. Heeseong didn’t want to show the reaction Yoon Chi-young wanted. He felt like he would be losing for some reason.
Heeseong deliberately pretended to sigh. It was because it wasn’t a normal situation.
However, the puppy, who had suffered too much at the hands of the pervert horse beastman, thought with his black eyes shining.
‘…I like it…’
Following his thoughts, his short white tail was the first to wag rapidly. Seeing that reaction, Yoon Chi-young proudly wiped his own lifted mouth. The gift was a success. Yoon Chi-young believed that the puppy’s disposition was the same as his own.
Seeing the puppy’s honest reaction, Yoon Chi-young even suggested using it.
“Now, the puppy can do as he pleases.”
“Ugh…”
Yoon Chi-young roughly pulled the leash that was around Kwon Ki-hyuk’s neck without any consideration. It seemed to be painful as it was an unfinished rope, and Kwon Ki-hyuk groaned. But no one cared about Kwon Ki-hyuk’s pain. There were countless beastmen he had cruelly toyed with.
The puppy looked at the string neatly placed in front of him. Heeseong sullenly looked at the string, then gladly came out of the blanket and bit the string.
Woof!
The puppy, who had suffered a lot, wildly shook his head while biting the string like prey. He vented his anger to his heart’s content as much as he had been harassed by Kwon Ki-hyuk. The string only swayed a little, but still, the experience of seeing Kwon Ki-hyuk tremble while watching the tiny puppy was first-rate.
Yoon Chi-young, who found that sight cute, gladly asked.
“Do you want to keep him like this? Or should we eat him?”
At the question, the string fell from the mouth of the puppy who had been venting his anger to his heart’s content. Heeseong was the type who couldn’t do two things at once, so he needed time to think separately.
‘I don’t want to keep him.’
He had no interest in Kwon Ki-hyuk even if he were given a truck. Heeseong was already satisfied just by seeing the guy who had become a complete mess.
However, it felt a bit unsatisfying to end it here. Moreover, if Yoon Chi-young had even used his connections to bring him here, he could really do as Heeseong pleased.
A good idea came to mind.
Heeseong, who had been looking around, looked at each of the tall organization members one by one to find Ji Young-bae.
‘Translate for me.’
Heeseong, who had found Ji Young-bae, mumbled. He could have transformed into a human and spoken directly, but he chose the second-best option because he had no clothes.
“Yes.”
Fortunately, Ji Young-bae, whose translation success rate had improved, quickly understood the puppy’s words.
Ji Young-bae started translating while holding the puppy toward Yoon Chi-young.
‘That thing is too dirty to keep.’
“He says it’s too dirty.”
‘Ha…’
The puppy sighed deeply. He was used to translation failures, but it was a bit tiring to see Yoon Chi-young’s hurt expression.
Still, he persistently tried to communicate without giving up.
‘That thing! Is too dirty. To keep.’
“Ah. He says he doesn’t want to keep it because it’s dirty.”
“Ah… That’s true.”
Yoon Chi-young nodded as if he understood. His disappointed expression also softened considerably. The puppy now spoke with a dignified body language added.
‘So. Let’s pass it on.’
“So let’s throw it away.”
‘To my workplace.’
“To my workplace.”
The translation was sloppy, but anyway, Yoon Chi-young seemed to understand. At the mention of throwing it away, Yoon Chi-young, who had been measuring the height of the building outside the window, exclaimed “Ah” and nodded his head.
“You’re saying to put him in a place like the gambling den where the puppy used to work?”
‘That’s right!’
He couldn’t be happier that Yoon Chi-young understood after two or three tries. The puppy slowly wagged his tail and glared at Kwon Ki-hyuk distastefully. Working at the gambling den was really dirty and hard. That’s why Heeseong hoped that Kwon Ki-hyuk would experience at least half of what he had gone through.
Yoon Chi-young must have felt that it was okay, as he nodded his head and examined Kwon Ki-hyuk’s condition, then muttered as if talking to himself.
“Then, since it would be troublesome if someone recognizes him… I’ll have to put him in a gambling den in Southeast Asia where they don’t even speak the language.”
At those words, Kwon Ki-hyuk trembled excessively. He even raised his head and looked around fearfully. A gambling den where they don’t even speak the language. It was obvious what Kwon Ki-hyuk would suffer. At the gambling den, the employee who was naive and couldn’t talk well always ended up doing the dirtiest work. For example, cleaning the room that a customer like Kwon Ki-hyuk had made a mess of and left, or taking off clothes as he ordered.
“Ple- please. Not there…”
Despite Kwon Ki-hyuk’s plea, Yoon Chi-young just smiled happily and consulted with the puppy.
“For about… 3 years?”
Speaking softly, Yoon Chi-young approached to pick up the puppy who had been wagging his tail. The puppy was about to gladly fall into Yoon Chi-young’s arms but remembered something and asked to be put down on the ground.
The puppy, who had approached Kwon Ki-hyuk on all fours, firmly stamped his foot on the back of his relatively unharmed hand.
‘He shoved this hand into my mouth. Fuck.’
“…He says that hand was trying to be shoved into the puppy.”
“Ah…”
Ji Young-bae immediately translated the fierce mumbling. It was somewhat inaccurate, but anyway, the meaning was somewhat conveyed. However, that slight difference in interpretation must have been a very important issue for someone, as Yoon Chi-young’s face, which had been smiling happily, froze coldly. He walked toward Kwon Ki-hyuk with his long legs and said.
“You should have told me earlier.”
“Wa- wait, wait a minute… That’s not what I did… Aaaah!”
Yoon Chi-young’s shoe stamped precisely where the puppy had stamped his foot. The shoe stamped down two or three more times. The sound of the back of the hand being crushed and Kwon Ki-hyuk’s agonizing scream echoed.
Only then did Yoon Chi-young relax his stiff expression and lift the puppy into his arms.
“Let’s go.”
Behind him, the quick-acting organization members were moving Kwon Ki-hyuk like a piece of luggage.
The sound of Kwon Ki-hyuk’s despair continued to echo in the old building. Heeseong saw it over Yoon Chi-young’s shoulder, but he didn’t feel sorry for him. Anyway, Kwon Ki-hyuk would get back exactly what he had been doing. Thinking about it that way, 3 years seemed short.
Still, Heeseong felt a little refreshed. He actually liked Yoon Chi-young, who took his side, and his gift. Just this once, the puppy buried his cheek between Yoon Chi-young’s coat first. His heart was pounding.
