Don’t Mess with the Puppy! - Vol.1 Chapter 3 Part 7
When they returned home, there was a big change. Heeseong’s room had been created.
It seemed that the subordinates who hadn’t accompanied Yoon Chi-young today had renovated it. As soon as he saw his room, Heeseong, who had transformed into his half-beast form, surveyed the surroundings with rounded eyes. His black eyes sparkled, and his tail swayed gently at the sudden gift, but Heeseong, who wasn’t used to receiving, unconsciously asked in a sullen manner,
“Why did you suddenly make my room?”
“We’re going to live together. Of course, you need one.”
From behind, Yoon Chi-young hugged Heeseong’s shoulder while draping a robe over him. Even as his earlobe was bitten by Yoon Chi-young, Heeseong looked around the stylish room with an unfamiliar gaze.
Heeseong’s room was the second-largest after the bedroom. When he opened the built-in closet, it was packed with all kinds of new clothes and shoes from various brands, and next to it was a plush sofa, a table, and even a new laptop.
The puzzling point was that there was no bed in the room. Heeseong thought it didn’t matter since he slept with Yoon Chi-young anyway, but then he flinched. He wondered why it had become natural for him to sleep with Yoon Chi-young.
But there was a bigger dissatisfaction.
Heeseong glared at one side of the room with a tightly furrowed brow. There were colorful dog supplies and a popular fainting mat for puppies.
“Do you think I’m really a puppy?”
“Exactly. Our puppy is a fighting dog.”
Yoon Chi-young wondered what Heeseong was if not a puppy, but he played along for now. Anyway, everything the puppy said was correct. Heeseong looked at the puppy supplies with a dissatisfied and discontented expression, as if he didn’t like them. Although he pretended to dislike them, his black eyes were lively since there were many necessary items.
“……….”
Soon, Heeseong weakly averted his gaze. As expected, having his own room in the wolf’s den felt unfamiliar and strange. This wasn’t where he was meant to settle down.
“Don’t make my room without my permission.”
“Why?”
“I’m going to live independently anyway.”
At those words, Heeseong felt Yoon Chi-young’s quiet energy from behind. The chilling atmosphere made Heeseong afraid to turn around. It was too unfamiliar for Yoon Chi-young’s demeanor, which had always been friendly, to change so abruptly.
After a brief pause, Yoon Chi-young asked softly, as usual,
“Didn’t you say you’d live with me forever?”
“I never said that.”
Heeseong spoke while looking somewhere on the floor with a gloomy expression. A solemn silence flowed inside the stylishly decorated room.
Heeseong had changed a bit after being betrayed. He didn’t like having his own space in the house of Yoon Chi-young, his revenge partner. He disliked the feeling of being indebted and no longer wanted to rely on anyone. This kind of relationship was bound to fall apart someday, and when that happened, Heeseong would be the one to bear the burden, whether it was material or emotional. In that case, it was better to start alone with nothing.
“……….”
At the end of the silence, Yoon Chi-young released his hands that had been back-hugging Heeseong. Feeling puzzled, Heeseong hesitated and turned around, only to see his expressionless face. His gray eyes, looking down at Heeseong’s nape, were sharp and seemed to flicker with thirst. They were just like the eyes of the wolf he had seen the night before.
Heeseong felt an eerie chill and tried to take a step back, but Yoon Chi-young subtly pulled his waist with force. Then, he smiled weakly while making eye contact as usual. While Heeseong looked at him with an unfamiliar gaze, he offered a small compromise.
“Then at least use the clothes, puppy.”
“Clothes?”
“Yeah. My clothes didn’t fit you, right?”
That was true. Until now, Heeseong had been wearing Yoon Chi-young’s clothes, which were a few sizes too big, and it had been uncomfortable. Although hesitant, Heeseong decided to take a look at a few items since he inwardly wanted his own clothes. Yoon Chi-young finally let go of him and gently opened the built-in closet as if showing it off.
Inside the built-in closet were numerous clothes packed by season. For Heeseong, who had less than a box of clothes when he lived at the gambling den, it was like a different world.
‘My new clothes….’
Heeseong first took out the coat he had always wanted. He wanted to have clothes that truly fit him, not cheap suits or hand-me-downs from his brother. Heeseong stroked the texture of the high-quality coat. At a glance, it looked as luxurious as the one Yang Hye-chan wore.
Yang Hye-chan. Heeseong, who had unconsciously thought of him, asked hesitantly,
“But… who is Yang Hye-chan? Why did you say I took revenge for you earlier?”
In response to the question, Yoon Chi-young, who had been looking at Heeseong with delight, answered nonchalantly,
“Oh, nothing much. He just tried to kill me before.”
“…What?”
Heeseong turned around in surprise. He saw Yoon Chi-young sitting elegantly on the sofa, twitching the tip of his black tail. He spoke lightly about the serious matter as if it were a tedious memory.
“I had dealt with his older brother. So Yang Hye-chan teamed up with my older sister and deliberately approached me.”
“Why did your sister do that?”
“Leaders originally dislike it when the guardian becomes too strong.”
“……….”
Heeseong finally understood the real hardship faced by a guardian. He had thought it was difficult just to monitor and deal with the clan, but it was a role that also earned resentment from close relatives. Heeseong recalled how Yoon Chi-young wasn’t welcomed by anyone at the clan’s gatherings. It was a memory that angered him.
With a slight suspicion, Heeseong asked,
“Then, did you kill Yang Hye-chan’s brother?”
“No, I didn’t kill him. I just made him pay the price for his betrayal.”
“Ah, then well….”
Heeseong’s serious expression softened. Then, wasn’t the betrayer getting what he deserved? Having grown up among fighting dogs who valued righteousness, Heeseong naturally believed that betrayal came with a corresponding price.
‘So that’s why he said he intentionally bit Yang Hye-chan….’
Given Yoon Chi-young’s personality, he most likely deliberately let Yang Hye-chan approach him, tested him, and then took revenge. In Heeseong’s eyes, Yoon Chi-young was the most cunning among wolves. Fortunately, he only showed his foolish side, giving plenty of kisses to Heeseong as a puppy.
“……….”
However, one thing bothered Heeseong.
Even though Yoon Chi-young had only done the job assigned to him, he had earned the resentment of his own kind and was having his life threatened. Moreover, even his sister, who was family, had tried to kill him. But it didn’t seem like Yoon Chi-young had experienced such things only once or twice.
With his gaze darkening, Heeseong carefully asked while caressing his new shoes,
“…Aren’t you sad?”
“Why?”
“Your siblings, your sister tried to kill you.”
“Is the puppy sad?”
“Damn it, I’m not sad.”
Heeseong spoke stubbornly with a deep frown. In response, Yoon Chi-young just smiled with his gray eyes as if he were in love, making Heeseong even more upset. However, Heeseong didn’t want to act pathetically just because he had been betrayed. He stubbornly believed that he had no reason to be sad.
Yoon Chi-young, who had silently finished laughing, casually said while leaning his arm on the back of the sofa,
“It’s okay. I didn’t have any expectations anyway.”
“……….”
At those words, Heeseong was at a loss for words. Heeseong, who had lowered his gaze without a word, fiddled with the new shoes in his hand.
Perhaps it was because he had recently been betrayed by someone who seemed like family. He felt concerned about Yoon Chi-young, who said he was fine. He felt that way even more because he knew they were both dog and animal species with a particularly strong pack mentality.
That damn feeling of being abandoned or ostracized from the pack. Heeseong was in so much pain that he had nightmares every night, but for Yoon Chi-young, it was an everyday occurrence.
“…How can that be okay?”
“Well, I was angry, but….”
Yoon Chi-young smiled and gently reached out his hand. He grabbed Heeseong’s arm and carefully pulled him close.
“After meeting the puppy, everything became fine. I even quit gambling altogether.”
Come to think of it, Heeseong knew that Yoon Chi-young was a VIP at numerous gambling dens, but he had never been to a gambling den even once after meeting Heeseong. He had thought Yoon Chi-young was just working and living happily with the puppy by his side 24 hours a day. He had really changed after meeting Heeseong. It was something that felt special because it was so natural to be together.
Yoon Chi-young, who was sitting on the sofa, hugged Heeseong, who was standing in front of him. He rested his cheek on Heeseong’s waist and said while twitching his black wolf ears,
“So don’t leave me alone….”
“……….”
“You’re my guardian, aren’t you?”
Every time he spoke, Yoon Chi-young’s black tail swayed behind his back. As far as Heeseong knew, wolves didn’t wag their tails, but the man-eating wolf was imitating the puppy. Imitating each other was a sign of being of the same kind.
“……….”
Heeseong dazedly kept his eyes open and carefully embraced Yoon Chi-young’s head, which was nestled in his arms. The wolf ears were laid back for easy petting, and Yoon Chi-young also closed his eyes comfortably.
However, the puppy’s eyes, who hadn’t fully grasped the situation, were filled with confusion. But there was also a glimmer of expectation in them.
If Heeseong left this place, he would be alone, just as Yoon Chi-young would be alone. Even if the future was uncertain, right now, we only had each other.
Heeseong, whose heart had warmed up to Yoon Chi-young a little, deeply embraced his head in his arms. His heart was beating fast. Beastmen had very strong innate instincts. The instinctive sense of fulfillment from belonging to a pack captivated Heeseong. The puppy spoke firmly as usual, not knowing that his quickened heartbeat was being conveyed to Yoon Chi-young.
“Don’t try to coax me with those words.”
“Did you notice?”
Yoon Chi-young smiled cunningly with his eyes curved. He pulled Heeseong’s body, which was hanging in his arms, even closer. Heeseong, whose body was drawn in, ended up sitting on Yoon Chi-young’s lap on the sofa.
Outside the window, the sun was slowly setting, and a subtle light seeped in. In the stillness, Yoon Chi-young bit Heeseong’s white cheek and made ill-mannered nibbles. The sound of flesh brushing against each other was particularly unfamiliar as they pushed and pulled each other playfully with their hands.
In succession, Yoon Chi-young playfully bit Heeseong’s thin chin. When Heeseong laughed without much rejection, he smiled joyfully, raising the corners of his mouth. Soon, Yoon Chi-young overlapped his lips with Heeseong’s as if giving a bird kiss.
“You….”
The startled Heeseong flinched and parted his lips. Although he had kissed Yoon Chi-young to the point of getting tired of it when he was a puppy, it was still unfamiliar to kiss him in his human form. However, Yoon Chi-young frowned his beautiful brows pitifully as if asking what the problem was.
“Why?”
He tilted his head and asked with a very pitiful gaze,
“It’s just the two of us… Can’t we?”
“……….”
The words “it’s just the two of us” particularly resonated with Heeseong. It wasn’t simply that it was just the two of them in this space, but it seemed like Yoon Chi-young was the only one on his side in the vast world.
People who had always approached Heeseong had high expectations just by looking at his gentle appearance. Among them, those with bad intentions expected special services. No one had ever accepted Heeseong for who he truly was.
But Yoon Chi-young was different. Even though he was a man-eating wolf with a veiled past, he was the only person who readily accepted all of Heeseong’s sides and showed him unconditional affection. Heeseong looked at various parts of Yoon Chi-young’s handsome face with attentive eyes. Yoon Chi-young, who had been biting his lips as if enduring something, closed his eyes while pressing his forehead against Heeseong’s. As if asking Heeseong to look at him, he subtly tightened his grip on Heeseong’s waist.
As expected, Heeseong didn’t want to push him away.
For the first time, Heeseong reciprocated what he had received from Yoon Chi-young. Although he hesitated for a moment, he soon pounced on Yoon Chi-young’s lips without much skill. At that clumsy sight, Yoon Chi-young smiled, raising the corners of his mouth, then willingly embraced Heeseong and gently intertwined their tongues. He wrapped his arms tightly around Heeseong’s body as if to imprison his entire being.
Soon, Heeseong accepted his kisses without much rejection, just like when he was a puppy. However, he didn’t intentionally deepen the kiss because Yoon Chi-young’s breath was quickly becoming rough.
Heeseong, who had been biting his lips, pulled away slightly and said,
“But why did you spare the leader…? Can’t we kill him along with Park Geon-tae?”
“Should we? I spared him because he didn’t do anything reckless, but….”
In response, Heeseong pondered and then whispered seriously that they should keep an eye on him.
At that sight, Yoon Chi-young smiled brightly while pressing his forehead against Heeseong’s. Heeseong’s appearance, with all his sincere schemes, looked so lovable. Taking the opportunity, Yoon Chi-young pulled Heeseong’s nape and intertwined their tongues.
“Mmm, wait….”
As their emotions intensified, the kiss deepened. Yoon Chi-young’s breath also became rough again. Gradually, Heeseong’s face turned bright red, and he pushed Yoon Chi-young’s shoulders to escape from his embrace.
Heeseong, who had gotten up from his seat, hurriedly tied his half-loosened robe. His body, with even the fur on his white tail standing up, clearly appeared to be in heat. Even as Yoon Chi-young, whose pupils had already dilated, tried to draw his body in again, Heeseong pushed his hands away as if urging him and said sternly,
“No, the doctor said not to stimulate you.”
“Physical affection helps release pheromones anyway.”
Woof!
Before he could finish his sentence, Heeseong transformed into a puppy as if running away. Then he left the room first without any lingering attachment.
“……….”
Left alone, Yoon Chi-young couldn’t even stand up due to his aching lower body and covered his forehead with his large hand. Thick veins bulged on his forehead.
‘They clearly told him to cooperate.’
Although he knew Heeseong needed time to approach him on his own, Yoon Chi-young wanted to get rid of the doctor who was of no help at all.
