Don’t Mess with the Puppy! - Vol.2 Chapter 4 Part 3
Heeseong went inside and transformed into his human form.
Rising with a smooth, bare white body, Heeseong quickly put on a white nightgown. His expression looked rushed yet quite excited. After inserting his recklessly wagging tail into the tail hole of the nightgown, Heeseong squatted in front of the living room table and counted the amount of money again.
’40 million won…!’
He finally had some money.
It was an amount he would have had to work tightly at the casino for over a year to earn. Heeseong busily wagged his white tail as he counted the 40 million won over and over. He was happy and reassured to finally have some funds.
At that moment, the organization members who had seen Yoon Jin-young leave came looking for Heeseong. The two members checked if the puppy was alright, and upon seeing him handling a large sum, asked in surprise,
“Where did this money come from?”
“Yoon Chi-young’s brother gave it to me.”
The members’ faces hardened. They knew Yoon Jin-young wasn’t the type to take a loss and that he was the kind to cunningly scheme. If he had handed money to the young and pure Heeseong, there must have been a condition.
Worried, Ji Young-bae examined the puppy with suspicious eyes and asked,
“Did you perhaps make a deal?”
Heeseong nodded as if it were obvious and neatly divided the money into 5 million won stacks. He had an attitude of not caring about the members at all.
“I agreed to monitor Yoon Chi-young’s activities and periodically pass on information to him.”
At Heeseong’s excited words, Ji Young-bae’s face turned ashen.
He knew the Watcher’s tendencies better than anyone as he followed him. The Watcher was particularly merciless when it came to betrayal. That’s why he had to save the innocent puppy.
For the first time, Ji Young-bae spoke to Heeseong with strict eyes.
“Do you know that’s an act of betraying the director?”
“……?”
Heeseong’s hand, which had been rapidly counting the money, stopped.
Finally laying his puppy ears back, Heeseong raised his head. His round, black eyes were slightly furrowed as if asking what nonsense he was talking about.
Heeseong spoke, delinquently twitching one ear.
“Young-baehyung. I’m going to use this money to buy Yoon Chi-young something delicious.”
“But the money was obtained by selling the director’s information through the current deal…”
Heeseong cut him off as if it were absurd.
“I collected it.”
“……”
“Yoon Chi-young will like it too, since he now has a real excuse to deal with his brother and also got money, right?”
The puppy, who had gotten up from his spot, put the neatly organized money in the annex’s safe. He didn’t forget to prevent the members from seeing the password settings. Although his true form was clearly a puppy, he had an attitude of having handled a lot of money before. It was natural, considering he had worked at the casino.
The members looked at him somewhat unfamiliarly but refrained from saying anything more for now. As those who moved alongside the Watcher, they could tolerate the puppy’s delinquent behavior.
Still, Ji Young-bae asked about the part that worried him the most, in case Heeseong faced any repercussions.
“How did you leave evidence of the contract?”
“I pressed my nose bridge.”
Ji Young-bae nodded as if that was enough. It was a verbal contract. In that case, even if Heeseong gulped down the money, the other party couldn’t touch Heeseong and would have nothing to say. They would only have to be more mindful of the Watcher. It seemed Yoon Jin-young hadn’t left proper evidence of the contract because he was too wary of the Watcher.
Then, checking the late hour, Heeseong led the way ahead of the members.
“Hyung. Let’s go find Yoon Chi-young. The time is already too late.”
Heeseong spoke while getting dressed. Behind him, Ji Young-bae looked at him with complex feelings and spoke as if resigned.
“You two really suit each other well.”
“……”
The puppy turned around with a face as if he had heard a curse. Ji Young-bae stood there with his usual heavy, expressionless face. He couldn’t carelessly reveal his expressions to the clever puppy.
Fortunately, the puppy, who had acquired a sum of money as thick as his own body, quickly shifted his attention elsewhere.
“What does Yoon Chi-young like? Is it gold?”
Heeseong asked chattily, sticking close to another member. On top of the footprints where Yoon Jin-young had walked away reassured, Heeseong’s much smaller footprints were imprinted again. It was yet another victory for Yoon Chi-young, who had been quietly waiting.
