Shen QingXian stared blankly.
Standing this close to look at that pair of eyes was similar to standing below myriads of mountains: The red sunset reflecting on the horizon, the fiery maple leaves illuminating the lake water, immersed in it, looking so gorgeous and magnificent*.
*the whole sentence ‘the red sunset…and magnificent’ is written poetically but it’s basically saying GJS’s red eyes are similar to the red sunset and the red maple leaves floating on a body of water. SQX was so immersed in GJS’s red eyes b/c they looked really nice.
After pausing for a moment, Shen QingXian asked him: “Has anyone praised your eyes?”
Gu JianShen’s eyebrow slightly rose. Soon after, his thin lips slightly hooked up and he jokingly asked a question in reply: “Would anyone look at me face to face like this?”
True…….Similar to how not one person in the entire Heavenly Dao dared to look straight at Shen QingXian, he was afraid that in the entire Heart Domain and even the entire Heavenly Dao, no one dared to glance at Gu JianShen.
Aside from having a bad reputation, even if he was born bright and charming, his beauty was nurtured through the accumulation of blood.
Red eyes were seen as ominous in the Heavenly Dao, so he changed his eye color when he came to Moonset Secret Realm.
Shen QingXian reached out a hand and touched the corner of his (GJS’s) eyes and softly said: “Very beautiful.”
Gu JianShen was struck dumb.
Shen QingXian lightly touched his (GJS’s) slightly cold skin and stared at him to say: “These are the most beautiful pair of eyes I’ve ever seen.”
He said this slowly. The childish voice did not contain the usual indifference and alienation and instead contained a thread of softness and sweetness in it. It echoed by the ear and shook the heart.
Gu JianShen’s eyes unexpectedly turned a deeper shade, similar to billows of crimson clouds at sunset that gathered together one layer at a time, creating a magnificent world of flames.
Shen QingXian’s lips bent and his voice became increasingly soft: “Really want…….” this pair of eyes.
He had not finished speaking when a shocked voice of a young man transmitted from behind them: “Why…….why is it like this?!”
Shen QingXian and Gu JianShen snapped out of their thoughts at the same time.
Gu JianShen changed his eye color and Shen QingXian immediately walked away from the tempting charm.
The change in attitude was very quick. Such a sharp contrast that even Esteemed Emperor JiuYuan felt deeply astonished.
But his mood was very good. Looking at Shen QingXian’s face full of indifference, his entire mind was filled with his (SQX’s) appearance from just before: shining eyes, slightly red cheeks, and his softly trembling lips.
Thinking that this person was Heavenly Dao’s one and only Esteemed Lord LianHua, his ‘proud son of heaven’ ShiShu who he had once only heard of but never met…….
Gu JianShen felt a thread of heat lingering around his chest.
He increasingly enjoyed what he was doing at the moment.
Shen QingXian approached Su Yu and saw a scene he expected to see.

In front of his eyes was an arid and warm nest. Although it was built a bit awkwardly, it was filled with a mother’s love for her children. It was meticulously built, carefully protected, and nurtured young beasts crying piteously for food.
But right now, this nest has turned into Asura hell.
Inside were five young and immature little beasts around two foot tall with soft fur, delicate claws, and eyes that seemed to have not yet opened. Although their mother was a violent and fierce beast, these little beasts with pure white fur were extremely cute, soft, and harmless.

For these beast cores, these five people ruthlessly, sadistically killed these pitiful young beasts. Only, at the last minute, they were discovered by the young beasts’ mother. Seeing that her children were killed in such a miserable way, the mother found it intolerable and went berserk, crazily chasing after these savage slaughterers.
These five people were naturally not this rank three fierce beast’s opponents. They fled in all four directions from being chased and then encountered Shen QingXian and company.
In order to help them, Su Yu lent out a hand to kill that fierce beast…….
But the reality was, the ones he saved were murderers and the one he killed was a grieving mother who suffered the painful loss of her children.
The shock was too big for Su Yu. He stood motionless, his eyes lackluster.
Shen QingXian did not need to do anything. That woman was already an arrow at the end of its flight. Running here had already burnt the last of her life’s flame.
She was greedy for these beast cores but the reality was, she didn’t even have the strength to possess them anymore.
After gripping tightly onto that beast core, her body thoroughly collapsed. After a difficult gasp for breath she laid on her back and fell into the hell that reeked of blood that she had created herself.
Even in death, she tightly held onto that beast core.
Su Yu looked on blankly for a long time before uttering: “She’s dead…….”
Shen QingXian silently looked at him.
The little peach blossom was born at WanXiu Mountain and had not undergone the affairs of life. Going through Moonset Secret Realm this set, would be enough for him to get a glimpse of the corners of the world.
With a ‘GuLu’, the woman’s corpse, which was tightly holding onto the beast core, stiffened and fell into the pile of scarlet rotten flesh and let out a ‘PuChi’ sound that made one’s head feel numb.

This move of Su Yu’s was one that he chose by following his heart. Although there were enormous troubles afterwards, it was still following one’s heart. Why is that Gu JianShen wanted to interfere?
Gu JianShen absent-mindedly said: “Follow one’s heart, but the heart to follow is my own.”*
*so an explanation of this sentence: GJS says 随心 (follow one’s heart) as in 随心所欲 (follow one’s heart’s desire) however, here he just says 随心 so it doesn’t really imply one’s own heart it could be a heart in general or a random person’s heart and then he clarifies in the second part of the sentence by saying following his own heart. Hope that sorta makes sense.
If he’s going to warn Su Yu then he’ll warn him, this has no relation to Su Yu’s frame of mind. The so-called ‘follow one’s heart’ is to only follow one’s own heart. If one was to listen to another person’s heart then how is it ‘follow one’s heart’?
Shen QingXian softly smiled: “As expected, Heart Domain’s ideals are very unique.”
This adjective was full of ridicule but Gu JianShen didn’t become angry. On the contrary, he (GJS) felt that it was interesting.
After arranging everything, although Su Yu was tired, his mental state became a lot better.
“Let’s go,” He (SY) said.
The whole journey, nothing was said. They walked until the sky turned dark.
After eating dinner and everyone respectively went to rest, Shen QingXian found the time to check on the Jade Scroll and found that the praise eyes task was already completed.
Shen QingXian was a little bewildered. Didn’t it say to praise in no less than three sentences?

Shen QingXian was solely occupied with looking at his (GJS’s) eyes that he actually didn’t take note of. But he could assume that it wasn’t something decent, well, doesn’t matter if he didn’t hear.
As of now, the Jade Scroll was a terrified thing. Once it lights up, it’s scared and when it’s scared it spits out words and doesn’t concern itself with what Shen QingXian is thinking. Feeling that he (SQX) was staring at it, a line of text popped out.
“9. It is cold, the ground is hard, please sleep together with Gu JianShen!”
Shen QingXian fell silent.
The Jade Scroll had already stealthily “died”.
His Excellency the Esteemed Lord looked at the Heavenly Staircase and decided to endure and continue to do this ‘physical labor’.
Sleep together?
Shen QingXian turned around to look at Gu JianShen: “Are you asleep?”
Gu JianShen was looking against a tree. When he (SQX) turned his head around, he (GJS) had already looked at him (SQX).

Oh right, I saw that a mei zi say that she couldn’t identify between Your Majesty and Esteemed Lord. It’s actually very easy to tell the difference. In the Heart Domain, Gu JianShen is proclaimed Emperor so he is called Your Majesty; Shen QingXian does not involve himself in the secular world so the Esteemed Lord is the respectful/esteemed way to call him.
His Majesty is Gu JianShen.
The Esteemed Lord is Shen QingXian.

? My poor Su Yu, he got hit with harsh reality again.
On another note, looks like the Jade Scroll is putting some reason when giving out task 9, will this be the same for the future tasks ?
