Four-Faced Buddha [To My Shore] - Chap 104
Chapter 104 is a dream.
Tian Xiaotian, holding her coffee cup, clicked her tongue twice through the glass: “When our CEO Fan came to the base, what kind of grandeur did he have? He was practically a Doberman, right? Look at him now, so pitiful, like a stray dog that’s just been adopted.”
She nudged the man beside her with her shoulder: “It’s been three days, Brother You. He’s been watching over you for three days. I calculated it, he comes out of the meeting room to check on you on average every hour, as if he’s afraid you’ll get lost or run away.”
“Is that so?” You Shulang’s voice contained a faint smile. He gazed at the figure behind the blinds, his eyes gentle and full, but his words were directed at Tian Xiaotian, “So, you’re not focused on your work?”
Single Tian Xiaotian suffered two heavy blows: “So I just ate a mouthful of dog food and now I’m getting criticized by my boss?”
You Shulang’s smile deepened: “Don’t make random comparisons.”
“So you’re protecting him already?” Tian Xiaotian exclaimed in anguish. “Brother You, you’re the epitome of manhood in my eyes. We don’t tolerate being love-struck.”
The sunlight finally broke through the thick clouds outside the window, shining through the glass onto the imposing man.
Tian Xiaotian suddenly squinted, leaning closer to You Shulang, staring intently at his face: “Brother You, why is your skin so good these days?” Her gaze shifted slightly upwards, focusing on the shadows under his eyelashes. “Good complexion, but dark circles under your eyes… could it be… you’ve been partying every night?”
You Shulang, usually eloquent and rarely speechless, was momentarily speechless. After a few seconds, he clicked his tongue, said “Time to eat,” and turned to walk down the corridor into the meeting room.
The meeting room door was ajar. You Shulang knocked twice as he pushed it open.
“Come on, let’s go eat,” he said, looking at Fan Xiao.
Just as Tian Xiaotian had said, Fan Xiao had already been at the research and development base for three days. He was acting strangely, not saying much, his eyes piercing, especially when he looked at You Shulang. His gaze was like dense, entwining vines, binding him tightly.
Early in the morning, he drove his truck to take Tiantian to school and then to You Shulang to work. After they said goodbye, he didn’t leave. At first, he just stayed in his truck, gazing at You Shulang’s studio, sometimes for the entire day. Later, when You Shulang discovered him, he hid in an even deeper corner. Finally, You Shulang, worried he’d get cold in the truck, had no choice but to invite him into the research and development base, keeping him under his watchful eye.
Fan Xiao stood up from the sofa, looked at You Shulang for a while, and then whispered, “Could you spare two minutes?”
It was lunchtime, and people were changing clothes to go to the cafeteria. They passed by You Shulang, greeting him warmly.
You Shulang smiled and responded twice, indicating he had some things to take care of. As he spoke, he strolled into the conference room, his expression as casual as any routine task.
He closed the door behind him, simultaneously shutting the blinds. In the secluded space, You Shulang’s smile vanished, replaced by a helpless expression only Fan Xiao had ever seen. He beckoned, “Come on, let’s confirm, but you said only two minutes.”
Fan Xiao approached slowly, but his movements quickened the moment his fingertips touched You Shulang’s. He pulled You Shulang close and kissed him impatiently.
Their lips and tongues intertwined, Fan Xiao, like a novice, unsure of his strength. You Shulang felt a mix of pain and numbness from the kisses, yet he still indulged Fan Xiao’s roughness.
They kissed deeply and shallowly until they were breathless, at which point Fan Xiao withdrew his assault. He pressed his forehead against You Shulang’s, his breath ragged, and asked, “Is this really not a dream? You’re really back by my side?”
You Shulang gently stroked Fan Xiao’s cheek and answered him earnestly once more, “It’s real, don’t be afraid, Fan Xiao.”
Fan Xiao pulled You Shulang into his arms, holding him tightly. “I was so afraid this was just another dream, and that when I woke up it would all be nothing.”
“Then let’s keep this dream going.”
The embrace tightened, and You Shulang tilted his head to kiss the man’s temple, smiling, “Fan Xiao, you can’t cry anymore. Although I like seeing you cry, it’s only in bed.”
Fan Xiao nuzzled against the warm neck, murmuring in a muffled voice, “You Shulang, you provoked me first. Even if this really is a dream, whether in the dream or after I wake up, I will never let you go.”
Their fingers intertwined, You Shulang replied calmly, “I know.”
Fan Xiao finally turned on his phone. These past few days, he had been anxiously watching over You Shulang, turning off his phone, blocking out external information, and ceasing all work.
Only after You Shulang’s repeated persuasion did he restore communication. The phone screen lit up, and a barrage of messages flooded in.
Fan Xiao picked and chose, scrolling casually, only stopping at one message. He lowered his eyes and pondered for a moment, then typed a message: “Let’s close the net.” With a light tap of his finger, he sent it.
After the New Year, the weather warmed up a bit, but Fan Xiao was still bundled up.
He took off his heavy motorcycle jacket, revealing a thick, luxurious cashmere coat that perfectly complemented the silver paint of his Maybach.
The winter sun was unusually bright, and Bai Yupeng was caught in this rare moment of sunshine as the police dragged him out of the underground casino.
His eyes stung from the glare, his arms were numb from being tied behind his back, and he moved his legs passively, his legs feeling weak.
Gradually, a crowd gathered, whispering amongst themselves.
“What did he get arrested for?”
“I heard it’s drug trafficking.”
“That bastard, he should be executed!”
His gaze swept erratically, shouting incoherently, before suddenly snapping back to Fan Xiao leaning against the luxury car.
He was initially stunned; Fan Xiao’s image in his mind had long since shifted from a refined, wealthy businessman to a lowly scoundrel. Seeing him now, he was momentarily confused, taking a beat to register the image.
The next moment, Bai Yupeng’s eyes flashed with shock and anger, and a sudden realization ignited a furious rage within him!
“You, it’s you! You’re taking revenge on me!” Ignoring the pain, he struggled in the police’s grasp, his face contorted in a terrifying grimace, as if he wanted to devour Fan Xiao.
Fan Xiao, standing across the street, remained nonchalant. He shrugged as if looking at some random cat or dog, slowly raising his hand and sliding it across his neck in a deadly motion.
Seeing the mad dog across the street barking even more fiercely, he chuckled softly and knocked on the window of the car behind him.
The window slowly rolled down, revealing an ordinary face, bearing a striking resemblance to Bai Yupeng.
Bai Yupeng, still struggling, suddenly froze, his face turning from pale to white, finally settling into a frenzied, violent expression.
However, his frantic shouting and ramming only earned him contempt from the people inside the car. As for Fan Xiao, even enjoying his pathetic state seemed pointless; he turned his head to look at the flower shop by the roadside.
Bai Yupeng was forced into the police car, his last expression as the door closed lingering on his gritted teeth.
Watching the police car drive away, the man inside stretched out a hand from the window: “Mr. Fan, it’s been a pleasure doing business with you.”
Fan Xiao glanced at the hand but didn’t shake it, simply saying lazily, “Congratulations to Fourth Master Bai on his rise to power.” ”
I’ll need your continued support in the future, Mr. Fan…”
“We’ll talk about the future later.” Fan Xiao patted the car. “I’m leaving, I have other things to do.”
The flower shop door opened, and a sexy male voice asked, “Do you have wild roses?”
