Full Cup of Water - Chap 9
Yuzhuo Group has been deeply engaged in international education for many years and founded several international schools, ranging from kindergartens and middle schools to pre-university courses. It could be regarded as a forerunner and gained a first-hand advantage in this field, establishing its position as a market leader.
In the past few years, Yuzhuo Group had plans to go public. The management found several well-known consultants in the industry to seek advice from. After one of the consultants set out to understand Yuzhuo, he was very hesitant. He found that Yuzhuo Group was a company that had only been established for over 20 years, but the internal structure was already very “familial”. The high-level people were related, and the powers and responsibilities were chaotic. If they wanted to go public, they had to restructure. Once restructured, it would affect the interests of many people. The chairperson and founder may not have the courage for this, which was troublesome. This well-known consultant feared trouble because he cherished his plumage, and if this project failed, his golden reputation would be tarnished. Of course, if this could be done, it would add a brilliant touch to his resume.
During his hesitation, he turned to a reliable old classmate for advice. This old classmate was Su Zhong.
Su Zhong learned about the Yuzhuo Group with the purpose of helping his old classmate. For Su Zhong to understand a company, he would research the company thoroughly. As a result, Su Zhong inadvertently researched the Xin Qianyu family thoroughly.
Su Zhong soon discovered the relationship between Xin Qianyu and the Yuzhuo Group. The chairman and founder of Yuzhuo Group was Xin Qianyu’s grandfather, and Xin Qianyu has his mother’s surname, so he was one of the heirs.
Xin Mu did not expect this to be the reason, so she was very surprised. But after thinking about it carefully, it made sense. Xin Mu frowned and said, “Since you knew early on that Xiaoyu was rich, why didn’t you tell him? Was it interesting to watch him wrong himself and pretend to be poor?”
Su Zhong replied, “He didn’t wrong himself by pretending to be poor.”
Xin Mu suddenly remembered that she met Xin Qianyu in the city that day. Xin Qianyu was wearing LV pyjamas and staying in a five-star hotel. He was using a Montblanc fountain pen to write. Indeed, he… did not wrong himself.
In truth, when Xin Qianyu yelled aggrievedly, “I don’t have the money to rent a house”, he stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel for a month until Su Zhong came to pick him up to live with him; when Xin Qianyu yelled, “My salary is so low”, he usually swiped his black card during his spending; when Xin Qianyu yelled, “I don’t have a car”, he took a ride-hailing service to get to and from work.……
Although Su Zhong was not a particularly sensitive person, he was not blind to this extent.
Xin Mu sorted out her thoughts in her mind only to find that her understanding of Su Zhong was limited to Zhu Pu’s version of the situation, and Zhu Pu’s story was unreliable. According to Zhu Pu, Su Zhong was careless and rarely paid attention to Xin Qianyu, so he did not know what Xin Qianyu was doing. But now it seemed that this was not the case.
Xin Mu began to re-examine Su Zhong.
“Then why didn’t you expose him?” Xin Mu asked.
Su Zhong replied, “I think he should have his own reason for doing this.”
Xin Mu became more and more surprised. Since Su Zhong entered the office, every word said had exceeded Xin Mu’s
prediction.
This was a very new thing for Xin Mu.
After all, in her eyes, men are all dogs.
She sighed. Su Zhong was a different dog.
No wonder my son was seduced.
Xin Mu’s red fingernails groped the handle of the black chair uncomfortably.
Her eyelids drooped slightly, her mascara-coated eyelashes thick and black.
“Were you never curious about the reason he lied about this?’
Su Zhong replied, “I’m a little curious. But I believe he will tell me when the time is right.”
“Hehe.” Xin Mu sneered. “Haven’t you studied economics? Don’t you know that we can’t treat everyone as rational people? If Xiaoyu was a clever and rational person, you could believe so. But Xiaoyu is not.”
Su Zhong was taken aback and did not speak. He just looked at Xin Mu like a humble student.
Seeing Su Zhong’s somewhat confused expression, Xin Mu regained the familiar feeling of controlling the field. Having such a confused expression appear on a person like him, who exuded a calm and wise temperament, seemed very sexy to Xin Mu.
Xin Mu had to force herself to mouth silently three times, “He is gay, and he has fucked my son”, before being able to suppress her animal impulse.
“Xiaoyu loves wasting time on insignificant problems…” Xin Mu crossed a pair of long legs in black stockings and tugged at her hair gracefully. “By the way, what kind of person do you think Xiaoyu is?”
Su Zhong raised his eyes and looked at Xin Mu. “Xiaoyu is a very earnest and gentle person.”
When Xin Mu heard this, she could not help spluttering with laughter. “You’re too foolish! Since he was young, he has mainly been a stubborn and mischievous troublemaker. Only someone as foolish as you will believe in his acting skills.”
Learning that Xin Mu had called Su Zhong to the office, Xin Qianyu immediately put down the work at hand and rushed over. Naturally, Xin Mu’s secretary did not dare to stop the bad-tempered young master. Xin Qianyu pushed open the door to Xin Mu’s office but saw no one else there except Xin Mu.
Xin Qianyu’s anger suddenly dissipated, and his expression became embarrassed. “Mom, why are you…”
“Why am I what?” Xin Mu asked.
Xin Qianyu paused. “You, why are you at work?”
This question was quite clever, and Xin Mu smiled when she heard it. “Yes, why do you think?”
Xin Qianyu closed the office door, hesitated for some time, but rose to the occasion and asked, “Did you look for Su Zhong?”
“Yes,” Xin Mu replied frankly. “I wanted to see which vixen seduced my son until he became mindless. Is that strange?”
Xin Qianyu did not know whether to laugh or cry when he heard the word “vixen”. Xin Qianyu’s mother felt that Su Zhong was the vixen who had seduced her son, and Su Zhong’s mother also felt that Xin Qianyu was the vixen who had seduced her son. It was clear that all mothers were the same.
Xin Qianyu knew that Xin Mu had a lot of opinions on this relationship, so he said, “Actually, it’s not that serious… I’m not mindless. ”
“If you’re not mindless, then tell me, why are you pretending to be weak in front of Su Zhong?” Xin Mu knocked on the desk. “I just can’t watch you being intimidated, even if it’s fake.”
“Okay, then I won’t be intimidated!” Xin Qianyu puffed out his chest and straightened his back. “I’m telling you firmly now, can you fucking leave my business alone? When I was bullied in school, why didn’t you care? At that time, you weren’t protective, but now you pretend to be a loving mother!”
“You being bullied? Who pushed his classmate’s head into the toilet?” Xin Mu’s voice rose. “I wasn’t protective? If it weren’t for me being protective, that toilet idiot would have killed you!”
Both Xin Qianyu and Xin Mu had forgotten the name of the person whose head had been pushed into the toilet by Xin Qianyu. Every time they talked, they referred to him as “toilet idiot”.
Anyway, at that time, there was a classmate who didn’t like Xin Qianyu, a transfer student. At first, he just banded with his classmates to taunt him sarcastically. Later, it escalated violently, and Xin Qianyu was locked in the bathroom and sprayed with water. Xin Qianyu would rather endure anything except him. He kicked open the bathroom partition door with one foot, then pulled that classmate and stuffed his head into the toilet. The young friends who passed by were stunned, and none wanted to use the toilet anymore. They stood there admiring Xin Qianyu’s heroic demeanour.
This classmate dared to bully others in school because he was somewhat popular. Now that his head was soaked in the toilet, he was furious and planned to find senior students to punish Xin Qianyu. Although Xin Qianyu could fight, it would be tough to withstand four fists with two. It would also be challenging if he were to be cornered by a large senior. Fortunately, Xin Mu knew that Xin Qianyu had offended someone at school, and she secretly resolved the crisis.
But Xin Qianyu did not buy it. He felt that if it were not for Xin Mu saving herself from worry and throwing him into a boarding school, such a thing would not happen. More importantly, Xin Qianyu was bullied once he transferred to the school, but Xin Mu did not react. Neither did she express any sympathy for Xin Qianyu.
Xin Mu did not sympathize with Xin Qianyu. Instead, whatever time she had was used to sympathize with the classmate who had been beaten by Xin Qianyu. Xin Qianyu was so savage and dominating that he had incidents every few days. She never said a bad word about him, instead paying and putting in the effort to help him clean up the aftermath. She was already an “exceptional mother”!
As soon as the mother-son pair talked about this, it was like the pouring of rice that never ended.
Xin Qianyu complained bitterly about how his mother paid no attention to him and how he faced the difficulties and troubles of growing up on his own. On the other hand, Xin Mu said that she was busy at work. Of course, I didn’t have time to care about you. My limited time was used to clean up your mess. Wasn’t that enough?
During the conversation, Xin Mu also, consciously or unconsciously, brought up Xin Qianyu’s glorious deeds: Xin Qianyu’s altercations were endless.
Xin Qianyu looked at his mother rigidly and said, do you think I wanted to? The effects of force are mutual. Hitting someone in the face hurts my hands too!
When Xin Qianyu made the firm, self-righteous speech, he did not know that Su Zhong was in the lounge with a wall separating them, and he heard the contents of the mother-son quarrel.
This was of course what Xin Mu had planned.
She told Su Zhong that Xin Qianyu was a bad guy, and Su Zhong could not believe it. She had to let Su Zhong hear Xin Qianyu quarrel with his own ears and reveal his wayward and dominating true colours before she could truly tear off Xin Qianyu’s disguise in front of Su Zhong.
The argument was nearly over. Xin Qianyu was almost done pouring out the same old boring things about disgraceful matters. Xin Mu coughed twice, smiled slightly, and said, “Okay, I won’t argue with you anymore. You’re my son. I should be more tolerant as a mother.” After speaking, Xin Mu opened the lounge door and said to Su Zhong, who was inside, “You can come out.”
Su Zhong walked out of the lounge.
When he saw Su Zhong, Xin Qianyu was completely stunned as if he had been struck by lightning, numb from his scalp to his toenails.
Xin Mu only smiled and said, “You guys live together now, right? Then you can go back together. I won’t see you out.”
