Good Luck Time - Chap 19
Tao Sizhi held the cone in one hand and her schoolbag in the other. It was difficult to pick it up, so she leaned over and used a tissue to rub the corner of her mouth with Jiang Ge’s hand. Jiang Ge’s hand was hot at the time, and the knuckles of his fingers touched Tao Sizhi’s lower lip, which was cold and numb.
Jiang Ge frowned and said nothing.
After eating the ice cream, Tao Sizhi’s brother called him. Tao Sizhi asked him, “Where are you? I want to go home.”
Tao Siyuan hesitated and said that he had just arrived home and asked Tao Sizhi if he wanted to pick him up at Jiang Ge’s house.
”No need,” Tao Sizhi felt relieved and told him, “I’m at the convenience store in front of the community and will walk home right away.”
After hanging up the phone, Tao Sizhi stood up and said to Jiang Ge, “He’s back. I’m going home.”
Jiang Ge said “hmm” and sat still.
He seemed to be troubled by Tao Sizhi, his very long legs were slightly bent, and he looked at Tao Sizhi with no expression on his face.
Tao Sizhi carried her schoolbag and looked at Jiang Ge face to face. After looking at him for a while, she said to him, “My brother told me that they call me a thief because they are ignorant.”
  Then Tao Sizhi went home.
Later, Tao Sizhi never saw Zhu Anquan near Jiang Ge again. It was unclear whether it was a coincidence or whether Jiang Ge’s standards for making friends had been raised.
However, judging from the way Jiang Ge often ignored others, Tao Sizhi thought it might be Zhu Anquan who spontaneously stayed away from Jiang Ge.
Of course, all of this is just spontaneous speculation by Tao Sizhi, who has little experience in making friends. It lacks any basis and is not very reliable.
Just like Tao Sizhi never knows what Jiang Ge is thinking, what he wants to do, why he ignores him, why he laughs, and why he gets angry at Tao Sizhi.
Because Jiang Ge didn’t say anything, and if he did, Tao Sizhi might not understand. The only thing Tao Sizhi knew was that Jiang Ge started helping him very early and was always tolerant of him.
Thinking of this, Tao Sizhi reached out, opened the cabinet on the bedside table, fumbled and took out the old mobile phone from high school, hugged it tightly in her arms, and closed her eyes a little tighter, because of the same reason as the previous 213 The same reasons for lying awake at night.
The author has something to say: Tao Siyuan, Jiang Ge saved you.
  Chapter 11
The next morning, Tao Sizhi’s mother, who had just returned from traveling, discovered the chestnut cake in the refrigerator.
At 10:02, she was wearing an off-white down jacket and holding two large bags of vegetables she bought on the way back. She walked in in a hurry and called Tao Sizhi, ready to cook.
”Where’s your brother?” She put the dishes on the dining table and asked Tao Sizhi.
Tao Sizhi was playing games on the sofa. He raised his head and before he spoke, Tao Siyuan walked out of the corridor, wearing long pajamas and looking a bit slovenly.
”You’re so young to get up so late,” his mother said with disdain. “When your father and I were your age, we slept at most five hours a day.”
Tao Siyuan selectively ignored her words and asked, “Where’s Dad?”
”Going to the office.” She pinned her shoulder-length curly hair with a big hairpin and carried the dishes to the kitchen. “I made an appointment with a client.”
Tao Sizhi’s parents are both lawyers and run a law firm in partnership with others.
The law firm’s business is good and it has opened several branches in other cities in the province. The couple has reached the age of retirement and is still busy with work, but it is better than when they were young. At least they have time to travel.
After a few minutes, she came out with the cake box, put it on the table, and said, “You can eat this cake. A small piece of cake, a big box, there is no room for food in the refrigerator.”
When Tao Sizhi heard this, he immediately raised his head and warned everyone: “This is mine, don’t eat it.”
”What kind of cake?” His brother walked over, took a look, and said, “The packaging looks familiar. When did you buy it?”
Tao Sizhi jumped off the sofa, walked to the dining table, and took the box away.
Carrying it to the sofa, he opened the lid, removed a spoon stuck to the side of the box, dug out the cake and ate it.
Tao Siyuan was still standing there, looking at him, with a slightly confused tone: “Why are you so stingy?”
Tao Sizhi hugged the box tightly, ignored it, and kept eating. His brother looked at him for a few times, then turned and rushed back to his mother in the kitchen: “Mom, is Yunshan fun?”
”Haven’t you been there?” The distant voice reached Tao Sizhi’s ears.
”No,” Tao Siyuan said inexplicably, “I haven’t been there.”
”Ah?” His mother came out holding a handful of celery and said, “How do I remember you went there, seven or eight years ago.”
  ”No.” Tao Siyuan denied.
Tao Sizhi had already finished the cake. When she turned around and saw the celery in her mother’s hand, she immediately said, “I don’t eat celery.”
”I know you don’t want to eat it, so just don’t eat it. I’ve steamed the eggs for you and put carrots in them. They’re steamed until they’re soft.” His mother told him.
Satisfied, Tao Sizhi disassembled the cake box, folded it, and put it into the recyclable trash can in the living room.
His mother did not immediately turn around and go back to the kitchen. She leaned against the kitchen door, thought for a few seconds, and suddenly said “Ah”: “I remember wrongly. It was your brother who went there with your client’s son, the one named Jiang.” .During the summer between the sophomore and senior years of high school, right?”
Tao Sizhi raised his eyes and saw his brother’s expression change.
”That was the first time that my brother went out to the market without us. He said it was fun when he came back, but he still didn’t want to travel.” His mother didn’t notice, and then asked Tao Sizhi, “Brother, have you gone to Yunshan Reservoir?”
  ”Gone.” Tao Sizhi said.
”Mom, your celery is dripping with water on the ground,” Tao Siyuan interrupted them, “Hurry in.”
His mother lowered her head and saw that it was indeed the case. She muttered, “Auntie will clean it this afternoon,” and went into the kitchen with celery.
Tao Sizhi’s mother doesn’t cook often, but her skills are much better than Tao Siyuan’s. Tao Sizhi had just eaten half a piece of cake. She was not hungry, but she still ate a lot.
After the meal, his mother took out her camera and shared the photos she had taken during the trip with them. Tao Sizhi was beside her, half an arm’s length away, watching her on the camera screen holding up a silk scarf and posing in various poses in the wind by the reservoir.
