Good Luck Time - Chap 2
When Tao Sizhi saw the word annual meeting, he only thought, “There must be a lot of people.” He was more afraid of crowds and hesitantly wanted to refuse.
The boss knew his character and saw his intentions, and suddenly began to instill in him the philosophy of life, such as “young people have more contact with society”, “now is not an era where only ability is considered” and so on.
Tao Sizhi began to lose focus, and was suddenly attracted by his boss’s words: “And the winning rate at this year’s annual meeting is the highest in history. If you miss it, you will lose it.”
Tao Sizhi has a shortcoming, he can’t resist almost all lottery activities. Therefore, at the end of the conversation, he not only accepted the annual meeting ticket, but also said “thank you” to his boss.
On the Friday of the third week after New Year’s Eve, the group’s annual meeting was held in the top-floor banquet hall of a luxury hotel next to the park.
The banquet hall was very large. There were seventy or eighty round tables in the hall, and a stage was set up in front of it. There were two huge electronic screens on both sides of the stage, which broadcast the scene on the stage in real time.
After the chairman and president made speeches, the dinner began.
The atmosphere at most of the round tables was high and people were drinking and drinking, while a few were very quiet.
Most of the quiet tables were occupied by socially awkward employees such as Li Xiao and Tao Sizhi from the logistics department.
The people who arranged the seats thoughtfully arranged them in a corner where no one would notice, so that they could eat quietly without being disturbed and concentrate on waiting for the lottery draw.
Before the lottery started, there were several performances. Tao Sizhi happened to be sitting next to the stereo. Her ears hurt from the music and she felt very bored, so she told her colleagues that she planned to go outside the banquet hall for shelter.
There were many people outside the hall, gathering together in twos and threes to chat. Tao Sizhi leaned against the marble pillar, looked down at the gray and red floor under her feet, and was stunned.
Not long after, the alarm clock on his phone rang, reminding him that it was already nine o’clock in the evening and it was time to do his gaming routine. He took out his phone, opened the software, and started playing the game seriously. After a while, he suddenly heard someone calling him: “Tao Sizhi.”
  ”Tao Sizhi.”
Tao Sizhi recognized this voice. When he just graduated from high school, it often suddenly and inexplicably rang in his ears, making him feel a little bored.
The sound sometimes appeared in the cafeteria, sometimes in the playground, sometimes in his home, downstairs at dusk. Tao Sizhi didn’t know the reason for the sound, but every time she heard it, she never found the source.
In recent years, he has rarely heard it again, so at the beginning of the day, Tao Sizhi didn’t take it seriously and didn’t look up until the sound got closer and closer to him, making him suspect that this time it was not an auditory hallucination.
Then he saw a pair of leather shoes. The leather shoes are black and polished, stepping on the gray-red carpet. Then he heard again: “Tao Sizhi.”
He had no choice but to slowly raise his head and saw the person calling him.
This man was almost a full head taller than him. He wore a black, crisp suit and had his hair cut very short. He stared at Tao Sizhi and held a glass of wine in his hand.
Apart from maturing a little, Jiang Ge’s appearance has remained almost unchanged. However, the unabashed domineering and mocking look in his eyes that was familiar to Tao Sizhi was no longer there.
”Why don’t you speak,” he said, “don’t you recognize me?”
Tao Sizhi said: “I recognize it.”
