Good Luck Time - Chap 5
Everyone knows that time speeds up when we recall. Before Tao Sizhi could think about anything, the annual meeting was over.
As the closing music played, people in the banquet hall stood up one after another and flocked to the door. Tao Sishou and Zhao Hao walked out together, and were dispersed by the crowd not long after.
There were people in front and behind Tao Sizhi, and their arms and back were pressed against each other. The air was densely packed with different voices. Tao Sizhi felt anxious and afraid, and moved forward with the flow of people.
After walking for a minute or two, the crowd finally dispersed, and he met Jiang Ge.
Jiang Ge was holding the bag for the annual meeting in his hand. Like Tao Sizhi, he was also a person. He walked with Tao Sizhi in silence at first. When he arrived at the hotel lobby, he asked Tao Sizhi: “Where are you going back?”
  ”Park,” Tao Sizhi said, “dormitory.”
Jiang Ge then said: “I will also go back to the park. I will take you back.”
Tao Sizhi stopped and said to Jiang Ge, “I’m going back.”
But when she walked to the hotel entrance, Tao Sizhi found that it was raining outside.
It was pitch dark outside, there was a light rain, and the cold wind blew on his face and hands from the cracks in the glass door, making him shiver.
He was afraid of the cold and did not go out immediately. He stood next to the doorman and watched. He saw several cars picking up senior executives drive up to the door and then drive away, leaving tire watermarks. Jiang Ge also stood by his side, accompanying him to look outside.
”I’ll take you back.” After standing for a while, Jiang Ge said.
Tao Sizhi was unable to conjure an umbrella out of thin air, and finally left with Jiang Ge.
When the car started, neither of them spoke.
Tao Sizhi felt a little uneasy. She didn’t know where to move her hands, so she couldn’t help but put her hand into her pocket. She held the lottery ticket in her pocket with her left hand and kept rubbing one of the sharp corners of the lottery ticket with the pad of her index finger.
After driving onto the ground and into the rain, Jiang Ge asked Tao Sizhi: “What are you doing?”
While driving, he put his right hand into Tao Sizhi’s pocket, grabbed Tao Sizhi’s fingertips and the lottery ticket with a corner blunted by his fingertips, took the lottery ticket out of Tao Sizhi’s hand, and looked down at it. After one glance, he suddenly smiled and said, “What a pity, you didn’t win again.”
Tao Sizhi stared at Jiang Ge and said nothing. Jiang Ge didn’t return the ticket to him. He looked at the road, was quiet for a while, and said to Tao Sizhi, “Tao Sizhi, can I give you the prize?”
There was no music in Jiang Ge’s car, and it was eerily quiet. Tao Sizhi said “no”, Jiang Ge seemed not to hear and said easily: “You must have thought about how to deal with the prize.”
  Tao Sizhi denied: “I didn’t.”
However, Jiang Ge still didn’t seem to hear him and said, “How are you going to deal with it?”
Tao Sizhi held back his words at first, but then he couldn’t hold it back anymore and shared his idea with Jiang Ge: “Sell it on a second-hand car platform.”
Jiang Ge laughed softly. He raised his hand as if to touch Tao Sizhi’s face, but Tao Sizhi avoided it and he stopped laughing.
The hotel is only ten minutes drive from the dormitory in the park, and they arrived quickly.
Jiang Ge’s car could not enter the dormitory area, so it was parked aside. Tao Sizhi asked him for the lottery ticket he had just taken. He was reluctant, but gave it to him anyway and let Tao Sizhi sit. He opened the door and came over with an umbrella to pick Tao Sizhi off.
When Tao Sizhi walked down, the rain had stopped a lot. The cold air touched his face and seeped into his collar. He pursed his lips in the cold.
”I’ll see you off.” Jiang Ge closed the car door for him and said.
Tao Sizhi wanted to refuse again: “It’s a bit troublesome to register before entering.”
  ”No trouble.” Jiang Ge said.
He put his arm around Tao Sizhi’s shoulders, held an umbrella, checked in at the gate, and walked in with Tao Sizhi.
On a rainy night in January, the air is damp and cold. The collar of Jiang Ge’s cashmere coat rubbed against Tao Sizhi’s face. He was much taller than Tao Sizhi and exuded a warm aura.
The rain hit the umbrella, the stagnant water beside the concrete road, and the black leaves, covering up the sound of their breathing.
Tao Sizhi walked close to Jiang Ge, and Jiang Ge’s hand on his shoulder gradually moved downward, hugging his arm as if hugging him.
After walking for about fifteen minutes, they arrived at Tao Sizhi’s dormitory building. Jiang Ge closed his umbrella, put it on the umbrella stand at the door, and naturally accompanied Tao Sizhi upstairs.
Tao Sizhi lived on the 9th floor, and the heating in the building was very strong. When the elevator went up, he felt a little hot, so he took off his coat and held it in his hands.
Jiang Ge looked at him, and he also glanced at Jiang Ge.
Entering the corridor, Jiang Ge still walked beside him, showing no intention of leaving.
Finally arriving at Tao Sizhi’s door, Tao Sizhi took out the key to open the door, raised his head and said to Jiang Ge, “Goodbye.”
Jiang Ge didn’t respond to his goodbye, and moved closer to him, wanting to kiss his forehead. He moved away a little, imitating the tone his brother taught him, and said “No more” to Jiang Ge.
His brother emphasized to him many times that ordinary friends would not kiss and go to bed. Tao Sizhi knew that whatever Jiang Ge did with him was wrong.
But even though he said no, Jiang Ge still came closer.
Tao Sizhi felt ashamed of his brother’s teachings because Jiang Ge still kissed him on the forehead; he also felt that he had made some progress because he did not allow Jiang Ge to enter his room.
  Chapter 3
After returning to the room, Tao Sizhi took off the rain-stained clothes, put them in the laundry basket, and then went to the bathroom to take a shower.
He likes the bathroom in the company dormitory very much. The lighting is warm, the bathing space is small, the amount of water from the shower head is appropriate, and the water temperature can be stabilized at 38 degrees Celsius. He quickly finished his shower, dried himself and put on his pajamas.
After walking out of the bathroom, Tao Sizhi’s cell phone rang. His brother called him.
He picked up the phone and heard his brother ask him on the other end: “How will the New Year’s Eve party be?”
”The special prize is an expensive car,” Tao Sizhi told his brother truthfully, “but I didn’t win.”
His brother smiled: “Then you think you will win.”
Tao Sizhi felt that his brother was laughing at him, so he stopped talking. He doesn’t like people laughing at his bad luck.
