Good Luck Time - Chap 62
Tao Sizhi opened his mouth dizzily. Jiang Ge put the thermometer under his tongue, waited for a few minutes, then took it out and read: “Thirty-eight degrees four.”
”I’m going to buy you some fever-reducing medicine and I’ll be back soon.” Jiang Ge put the thermometer aside and said, “I cooked porridge for you just now, but it’s still a little hot. I’ll feed it to you when it cools down a bit.”
He kissed Tao Sizhi’s forehead, tucked Tao Sizhi into bed, and then walked out of the room.
After Jiang Ge left the room, Tao Sizhi did not fall asleep immediately. He lay on the bed in a daze for a while, feeling that he was still thirsty. The water on the bedside became cold, so he stood up and walked out slowly to pour water.
His legs were not as soft as his own, and his calves seemed to be still being held by Jiang Ge, and they were throbbing and painful.
Tao Sizhi was wearing Jiang Ge’s clothes, covering her thighs. She walked to the living room, took a cup, and poured herself a glass of water with her wrists shaking a little.
After taking a few sips, Tao Sizhi suddenly heard movement behind her and turned back with her water glass in hand.
Mrs. Jiang stood at the entrance, holding the access card in her hand, looking at him blankly.
  Chapter 40
Mrs. Jiang was wearing a beige suit, with a bouquet of flowers in the open bag at her feet. Her appearance was almost the same as before, except for her hair color.
Tao Sizhi had not seen Mrs. Jiang for a long time. He skillfully used appropriate social methods. He smiled at Mrs. Jiang and said, “Hello, Auntie.”
Mrs. Jiang was stunned again, and then whispered: “Sizhi.”
”You are here in Jiang Ge,” she asked Tao Sizhi, “do you think it’s cold in such little clothes?”
Tao Sizhi went back to her room and put on pajamas. When she came out, she saw Mrs. Jiang pruning flower branches. She walked over and called her again.
Mrs. Jiang turned around and smiled at Tao Sizhi: “Where is Jiang Ge, has he gone out?”
  ”Yeah.” Tao Sizhi said.
”Why are you left alone at home?” She muttered, pruning a peony.
Tao Sizhi stood at the long dining table and watched her cut off the lower leaves of the flower branches.
While she was repairing, she said to Tao Sizhi: “I think Jiang Ge has finally come back from the northwest. He still works overtime and doesn’t go home. He comes and goes alone. There must be no life in the new house. I happened to pass by today. I bought some flowers and wanted to help him decorate them.”
The weather was gloomy and rain clouds were gathering outside the building. Mrs. Jiang turned on the lights in the dining room, illuminating the flowers and white vases on the dining table. Tao Sizhi smelled the aroma of fresh flowers.
”I didn’t expect you to be here.” She put the repaired peony into the vase, looked at Tao Sizhi, and asked him, “You and Jiang Ge have reconnected.”
Tao Sizhi looked at her without saying anything. She didn’t seem to care, and asked again: “Is it Jiang Ge who came to see you?” Tao Sizhi said “Yes”, and she was silent for a while.
Mrs. Jiang bought a total of fifteen different flowers. After placing them in the vase, she wrapped the pruned branches in paper, sprayed some water on the bouquet, and raised her head and asked Tao Sizhi: “Does it look good?”
Tao Sizhi said it looked good, and she smiled happily, threw the paper bag into the trash can, and said she hadn’t seen Tao Sizhi for a long time and wanted to chat with Tao Sizhi.
Tao Sizhi felt a little pain all over her body and her head was dizzy, but she was still conscious, so she obediently walked to the living room with Mrs. Jiang and sat on the sofa.
”Sizhi.” She poured herself some water, held the cup, looked at Tao Sizhi, and seemed to hesitate for a while before asking Tao Sizhi, “Do you like Jiang Ge?”
She wore light makeup and had a few light wrinkles under her eyes. Jiang Ge’s eyes looked so much like hers that Tao Sizhi was a little distracted. But he quickly came to his senses and said to Mrs. Jiang, “I like it.”
”How do you like her?” Mrs. Jiang looked into Tao Sizhi’s eyes and asked.
Tao Sizhi found it difficult to answer, so she looked at her and said nothing.
She couldn’t wait for Tao Sizhi’s answer, and she wasn’t angry. She said “Sizhi” and then said, “Auntie is very conflicted.”
  Tao Sizhi said: “Ah.”
”I’m afraid you don’t like Jiang Ge that way,” she frowned slightly, lowered her eyes, looked at the glass of water in her hand, and murmured, “I’m afraid Jiang Ge is lying to you.”
Tao Sizhi looked at her quietly. After a while, she added, “But I’m afraid you really don’t like him.”
”Can you understand?” She raised her eyes and looked at Tao Sizhi.
Tao Sizhi thought for a long time and finally said to her: “I’m sorry, Auntie. I didn’t understand.”
Tears welled up in Mrs. Jiang’s eyes. She lowered her head, tears falling on the back of her hands, and said “It’s okay” to Tao Sizhi in a trembling voice.
Tao Sizhi really wanted to say something to make her jump for joy, but he couldn’t think of anything.
”Jiang Ge has been a very proud child since he was a child,” she sobbed, telling Tao Sizhi, “I can’t imagine him accepting failure.”
Tao Sizhi pulled out a tissue and handed it to her. She took it and wiped her tears.
”Jiang Ge suddenly seemed to be a different person at that time, and Xiao Tao stopped being my consultant. Auntie, it’s not that I haven’t thought about you.” Mrs. Jiang’s hands were shaking slightly, she put the cup on the coffee table and made a crisp sound. “I just don’t think he will – I don’t dare to think about it…”
”He is so patient with you… I should have found out earlier, I should have told him earlier,” she burst into tears, holding the white tissue tightly with her fingers, her tears dripping on the paper, causing light water stains. “He won’t make any mistakes against you.”
Tao Sizhi looked at her and felt that Mrs. Jiang was very sad. He stretched out his hand hard, put it on her shoulders, and hugged her gently.
”I’m sorry, Sizhi.” Her nasal voice was thick, and there seemed to be a lot of pain in her tone.
Although Tao Sizhi didn’t know the reason for her apology, he still said to her softly: “It doesn’t matter.”
Thinking about her words, Tao Sizhi couldn’t help but say, “Jiang Ge didn’t do anything wrong to me.”
”Jiang Ge said he thought I was normal,” he chose the words to express with great difficulty, and then told Mrs. Jiang, “We are going to be together.” He thought about it and said to Mrs. Jiang: “Because I love Jiang Ge, Jiang Ge loves me too.”
