I Like Your Pheromones - Chap 20
At the foot of the academic building of the Junior High, Zhao Minjun counted the number of students and made sure that they had all arrived at the school safely. Then she announced that they were dismissed.
While the students were being counted, Duan Jiayan continued to hang off of Lu Xingci. Song Yi glanced over a few times and felt his worldview collapse a little more with each glance.
Fortunately, they stood at the edge of the group and it was dark out, so few people noticed such an abnormal scene.
After they were dismissed, Lu Xingci watched as Song Yi wanted to say something but hesitated. Duan Jiayan was still hanging himself off him and refused to let go. So Lu Xingci commented: “I’ll send him to the dormitory building.”
Song Yi hurriedly said: “Ah, that’s great. Thanks, thanks.”
“Thanks for what?” Duan Jiayan suddenly raised his head and vigilantly stared at Song Yi: “What are you smiling at him for?”
Before he realized the seriousness of the issue, he asked in confusion: “What’s wrong with smiling?”
Duan Jiayan: “Let me tell you. It’s useless to try to sell yourself to him. My name is all over his body, including that part on the back of his—”
Before he could even say “neck”, Lu Xingci, whose head was starting to hurt because of his loudness, covered his mouth.
The male student’s fingers were slender and his palms were wide whereas Duan Jiayan’s face was quite small. At first glance, it seemed as if most of his face was covered.
Duan Jiayan: “…H-hey! You… MmmmMMm, what are you doing?!”
Lu Xingci disliked the feeling of his breaths puffing into his palm and retracted his hand.
Duan Jiayan recovered his freedom, criticizing with plenty of dissatisfaction: “Lu Xingci, how can you be so ungrateful?”
Song Yi: “…”
Lu Xingci got used to his unusual behavior: “He’s drunk. Don’t mind him.”
Song Yi: “…Okay.”
Song Yi pondered and considered Duan Jiayan lucky that he would forget everything after he woke up. Otherwise, Duan Jiayan might just murder him to shut him up when he woke up tomorrow.
On their way back to the dormitory, Duan Jiayan didn’t quiet down either.
Lu Xingci and Duan Jiayan were in a much too intimate position. It was an inconceivable sight to behold. Thus, Song Yi couldn’t help but glimpse over a couple more times. He watched and pondered whether he should take a photo of such a rare opportunity to laugh at the absurd things drunk Duan Jiayan did tomorrow.
He didn’t expect that…
Duan Jiayan suddenly turned around and asked him in an unfriendly tone: “What are you looking at?”
Duan Jiayan showed off his beautiful facial features. When he gave a cold expression, fierceness radiated off of him. Many people had been intimidated by him in this way before.
However, Song Yi was not frightened. He only noted this as super hilarious. He was afraid that if he laughed, Duan Jiayan would fuss about it. He hurriedly cajoled him, “I won’t look, I won’t look. I won’t give you a single glance.”
After saying that, Song Yi really couldn’t help but let out a “ha”.
Duan Jiayan: “…”
Song Yi: “…” I’m done for; I couldn’t hold it back.
With an expressionless face, Duan Jiayan quirked his mouth and suddenly thought of something. He decisively reached out and covered Lu Xingci’s face with his hands.
After that, he raised his eyebrows at Song Yi and puffed: “Keep looking. His face is covered anyways, so you can only look at my hands. “
Why was he so possessive of Lu Xingci?
Moreover, Duan Jiayan was so drunk that it was Lu Xingci’s eyes that he covered with both hands, making the latter unable to see where he was walking at all.
It became immensely difficult for Song Yi to hold back his laughter, but he didn’t dare to laugh. If he did, he knew that Lu Xingci might just murder him to shut him up as well.
Lu Xingci finally couldn’t take it anymore and asked: “Take your hands off me. I can’t see where I’m walking.”
Lu Xingci finally couldn’t take it anymore and tsked: “Take your hands off me. I can’t see where I’m walking.”
“It’s fine, I’ll look for you.”
“Take them off. Or else I’ll drop you on the ground.”
“Go ahead and drop me.” Duan Jiayan resolutely continued: “In any case, he’s not allowed to look at you.”
“…” Song Yi was suffocating, trying to hold back his laughs: “Okay, I won’t look. I’ll go wait for you in front of the dormitory building. Take your time, alright?”
He walked quickly back to the student dorm and played with his mobile phone for a while before Duan Jiayan and Lu Xingci finally appeared in his line of sight.
He didn’t know how Lu Xingci persuaded him. At present, Duan Jiayan seemed to be relatively calm. Song Yi put his phone away and was just about to pick up Duan Jiayan from Lu Xingci.
“No-” Duan Jiayan was completely unreasonable: “I want to stay with him. We’re already unable to separate.”
Even though he knew that Duan Jiayan was super drunk, he was still unprepared to hear that declaration from him. Song Yi felt like he had seen a ghost.
He looked at Lu Xingci apologetically. The latter wore the same expression as usual. He had already gotten used to being tortured by Duan Jiayan.
“Is he like this every time he drinks?”
“Not really,” said Song Yi awkwardly: “He was only fussy in the past. He stuck to you so much tonight probably because of your pheromones.”
Unlike previously, this time, when Duan Jiayan got drunk, he revolved solely around Lu Xingci.
99% Compatibility…
Duan Jiayan could maintain his rationality when he was sober, but once he was drunk, Lu Xingci’s pheromones were fatal to him.
Thankfully… Thankfully the person who had such high compatibility with Duan Jiayan wasn’t some random stranger.
Otherwise, he would be done for.
Lu Xingci worked with Song Yi to slowly move Duan Jiayan onto Song Yi. When Song Yi was about to bring Duan Jiayan to his dorm, Duan Jiayan suddenly stared back at Lu Xingci fixedly.
Just as Song Yi thought that he was going to do something Earth-shattering again, Duan Jiayan said lightheartedly:
“Lu Xingci! See you tomorrow!”
Lu Xingci looked at his drunken, hazy look. He who couldn’t even stand stably, but still didn’t forget to bid goodbye to him.
He was at a loss whether to laugh or cry and was left with no choice.
“See you tomorrow.”
Song Yi also reacted: “I’m so sorry, Class President. I’ve bothered you tonight.”
“It’s fine,” Lu Xingci said: “Let him rest early when you guys get to your room.”
Song Yi is too busy to vocally agree.
After saying goodbye to Song Yi, Lu Xingci went to the school gate.
He came out late. At the gate of First Middle, almost all the parents who were picking up the students had left.
A small white car stopped in front of him, the window rolled down, and Jiang Yao looked at him with a big smile.
“Why are you here?” Lu Xingci asked casually as he buckled his seatbelt.
“Mom is here to pick you up, isn’t that better than simply a driver?” Jiang Yao said: “I just met with Chen Yue. He said that your class went out for a meal today.”
Lu Xingci made a noise of agreement.
Jiang Yao was filled with interest: “So how did you get covered with Omega pheromones?”
“My classmate got drunk. I sent him back to his dorm.”
“How long have you had such a close classmate?” Jiang Yao recalled the past: “Last time Chen Yue got drunk in our house, not only did you not care at all, but it was Auntie Shu who took him upstairs.”
“That happened so many years ago already.” Lu Xingci said with a smile: “Now auntie certainly won’t be able to lift him.”
“Young guys… all grow up pretty quickly. How old were you back then? You only cared about sneaking drinks of your dad’s wine…”
Seeing that Jiang Yao’s attention had been diverted, Lu Xingci made a sound of agreement and relaxed into the seat of the car.
Before Lu Xingci left home the next morning, as Lu Xingci was right about to step into the car, Auntie yelled a few times and ran out in a hurry.
“I almost forgot.”
She placed a box of medicine in Lu Xingci’s palm.
Hangover Medicine.
Lu Xingci looked up at her.
Auntie Shu said with a smile: “Madam said for you to take it with you. She said your classmate may need it.”
Lu Xingci accepted the medicine and thanked her.
When he arrived at the classroom, Chen Yue just happened to be chatting with Song Yi.
Lu Xingci conveniently scanned the room. Duan Jiayan’s seat was empty.
At the moment he sat down, he heard Chen Yue ask: “Where’s Duan Jiayan?”
Song Yi: “Xiao-Duan couldn’t get up at all this morning. He’s probably skipping class.”
Chen Yue happily heard the news: “He was too hilarious last night. Even though he was such a lightweight, he still drank with others. Zhou Xingchen isn’t here either, so I’m guessing he’s getting extra sleep at home.”
Seeing Lu Xingci sitting down, Chen Yue yelled: “Did you finish the Physics homework? Let me copy it.”
Just as Song Yi predicted, Duan Jiayan didn’t show up for any of the morning classes. In the afternoon, the moment Lu Xingci entered the classroom, he saw Duan Jiayan resting on his seat.
He was languidly paralyzed in his chair as if he had no bones, playing with his mobile phone. When he heard Lu Xingci sit down, he turned his head.
“Was I a roaring drunk last night? I asked Song Yi, but he wouldn’t tell me anything.”
When he woke up this morning, he pretty much forgot all about what happened last night. He only remembered toasting Zhao Minjun, but that’s it. Everything afterward was all fuzzy and fragmented.
But Song Yi had to remind him to thank Lu Xingci when he went to class. Last night, Lu Xingci was the one who sent him back after he got drunk. He didn’t trouble Lu Xingci any less the whole way back.
“You were.” Lu Xingci looked at him: “You slammed the table and told Zhou Xingchen that you weren’t that kind of a heartless person.”
“That’s barely acceptable. Anything else?”
“You leaned on my back and admitted that you were a paging machine in your past life.”
“Stop making shit up.” Duan Jiayan doubted: “How could I do such a stupid thing?”
“It’s not as stupid as what you did afterward.” Lu Xingci understated what happened: “You ask me… if you could bite my glands.”
“…”
Under Duan Jiayan’s frozen stare, Lu Xingci said with a smile and a ridiculing expression: “I didn’t expect that this would be your sexuality.”
“…Shut up.” Duan Jiayan cut him off: “Let me wipe what happened last night from my memory. Neither of us will speak about this and we’ll let the past pass.”
“It’s too late.” Lu Xingci mercilessly exposed his self-deception: “Song Yi saw all about how you were a roaring drunk last night. The reason Song Yi didn’t tell you about it was probably because he was afraid that you would plot to murder him after you woke up.”
“…”
Seeing Duan Jiayan completely covered in the gloom, Lu Xingci paused: “Did you take medicine?”
Duan Jiayan argued through gritted teeth: “I allow you to ridicule me like this, yet you’re still telling me to take medicine? You little—”
Since he misunderstood, Lu Xingci gave him the box of medicine directly: “For hangovers.”
Duan Jiayan stared blankly for a second before he realized that what he thought wasn’t what Lu Xingci meant. He received the medicine and flexibly changed his tone: “You’re not a bad person.”
Lu Xingci smiled and didn’t bicker with him. Duan Jiayan had yet to sit back down in his seat. He still looked like he had something to say.
“Something still the matter?”
“Song Yi told me to thank you.” Duan Jiayan said: “Even though I don’t remember what you helped me with last night, from what he said, I was probably a lot of trouble when I was drunk.”
“Thank you ah, Lu Xingci.”
“If you got drunk next time, I would also send you home.” Duan Jiayan specially added a sentence to show his sincerity: “No matter how you fuss, I won’t dislike you for being troublesome.”
The weather was getting colder. Duan Jiayan wore a thick jacket on top of a lightly-colored vertically-striped shirt.
He was never one of those rule-abiding boys. His shirt had two carelessly unbuttoned top buttons, revealing a section of the thin but distinct collarbone.
Way too thin. His elbows were supporting him against the desk so that section of his collarbone curved to naturally form a shallow indent. Fair, exquisite, and dazzling; it was particularly eye-catching.
That phrase, “no matter how you fuss”, felt like it was filled with suggestions of permission.
Knowing that this wasn’t what he meant, however, one couldn’t help thinking about it.
“It’s better if I don’t.” Lu Xingci moved his gaze away: “I’m scared that there’ll be an accident.”
A 99% compatibility not only affects the Omega but also affects the Alpha.
There was a moment last night where he became absent-minded because of Duan Jiayan’s pheromones.
“What are you scared of?” Duan Jiayan was puzzled. After pondering for a while, he could only think of one explanation: “Are you afraid that I will take advantage of your state and bite you?”
“Yes,” Lu Xing’s reply was not sincere in the least: “I’m super scared.”
“…”
