Limited Possession - Chap 36
Gu Chaocheng’s story
Chapter 6
Xie Zhiyao didn’t expect to meet Gu Chaocheng again so soon.
This afternoon, his boy group would be holding a fan meeting in the Sheng He building, which belonged to Hua Sheng. Coincidentally, Gu Chaocheng happened to come to inspect the work today.
When Xie Zhiyao heard the news, he was instantly so happy that he jumped up three feet before he sped to the dressing room and made up his hair for a long time.
Gu Chaocheng came to the event venue before Xie Zhiyao went up on stage. When the manager heard from the event organizer that he was coming, he hurried to treat him with hospitality eagerly. Xie Zhiyao wanted to take advantage of the chaos to squeeze in, but was pulled away by the manager halfway as he reprimanded, “Xie Zhiyao, do you know who’s sitting inside? Why are you barging in here?”
Xie Zhiyao’s lips moved, he asked tentatively, “It must be president Gu.”
“You know that too? So why did you run here?” The manager shooed him away to the stage, “Quickly go and rehearse.”
Dispirited, Xie Zhiyao walked towards the stage listlessly. But before he could walk halfway, he heard a restless movement from behind.
It turned out to be Gu Chaocheng coming out surrounded by a group of people. Next to him, the manager was eagerly making introductions, “Although our group is a little less reputable, the quality of work is still very high. President Gu, if you have time, you can watch their performance, or you can let them introduce our case to you.”
Xie Zhiyao immediately resurrected from the dead. He turned around and stared straight at Gu Chaocheng, the corners of his mouth raised up to the sky. His hands hidden in his sleeves swung rapidly as he waved to Gu Chaocheng.
Sure enough, Gu Chaocheng saw him, but his line of sight only fell on Xie Zhiyao for a few seconds before moving away indifferently.
Seeing that Xie Zhiyao was standing close by, and knowing that he was talkative and likeable, the manager waved to him, “Zhiyao, come here, tell president Gu about our group.”
Xie Zhiyao just took a step forward when he heard Gu Chaocheng say, “The beta next to you, come here.”
It was like Xie Zhiyao fell into ice water in an instant. He looked at Gu Chaocheng blankly, but Gu Chaocheng wasn’t looking at him.
Wu Ke was standing next to him, and indeed, when Gu Chaocheng called him, Wu Ke immediately greeted him.
Xie Zhiyao was confused and stupefied about what happened after, so he couldn’t remember clearly. It’s just that late at night, Wu Ke hadn’t returned yet. Xie Zhiyao didn’t want to go back to the dorms either, so he stood downstairs and talked to the cat that was in contemplation. The cat ignored him, but the dog greeted him. Xie Zhiyao’s nose felt a little irritated. He booped the dog’s nose and sighed, “I’m asking you to be self-sentimental, I’m asking you to be self-sentimental, how embarrassing.”
Chapter 7
Wu Ke had never experienced such petty annoyance in his life.
Although his appearance wasn’t one of the best in the group, at least he was in charge of visuals. The second rich generation people who wanted to be friends with him could form a line from downstairs of the company to West street…but unexpectedly, Gu Chaocheng had ignored him the entire time?
Gu Chaocheng brought him to a restaurant and started eating as soon as the dishes were served without saying a single word. After eating, he asked the driver to send him back.
It was like he was reluctantly doing a task.
“Is this person sick?” As Wu Ke thought about the absorbed look of Gu Chaocheng when he ate, he felt a chill, “In any case, he’s also the president of Hua Sheng, why doesn’t he have style at all?”
Wu Ke gagged as he walked to the dormitory, when he saw Xie Zhiyao squatting by the corner petting a cat. As he walked closer, he could even hear him babbling on to himself.
Wu Ke didn’t want to say hello to Xie Zhiyao, but when Xie Zhiyao turned around and saw him, he swiftly got up, “You’re back?”
“What are you doing downstairs?”
Xie Zhiyao hid his thoughts, “Feeding the cat.”
Wu Ke felt that Xie Zhiyao was hopeless. He didn’t bother talking to him, so he went straight to the elevator. But Xie Zhiyao caught up from behind and asked in hesitation, “W-why are you back so late?”
“What’s that got to do with you?”
Xie Zhiyao was left speechless. As he was about to think of a way to get the words out from Wu Ke with difficulty, next to them, several artists from the company came over. When they saw Wu Ke, they greeted him exaggeratedly, “Eh yo! isn’t this our future president’s wife?”
Wu Ke wasn’t popular in the company, and he also knew what these people meant by these words.
“Eh, Wu Ke, what did Gu Chaocheng take you to do today?” Someone asked.
Xie Zhiyao’s heart tightened and he immediately pricked up his ears.
“We just had a simple meal,” Wu Ke twirled his hair1 and said with a smile, “President Gu is quite humorous, he told me a lot of stories about his past.”
“Eh, I heard that his pheromone grade is very high, and he’s also particular about exercising self-control.”
Wu Ke covered his mouth as he smiled, “Ah, I don’t know about this.”
Everyone around immediately laughed, half-serious and half-fake.
Only Xie Zhiyao didn’t laugh. He stood at the corner of the elevator with his head down, staring blankly at the tip of his toes.
It turned out that…Gu Chaocheng had such a side. Being dull and blunt was fake, while not bothering to emit charm towards him was real.
Back in the dormitory, Wu Ke took a shower. When he came out, Xie Zhiyao was already wrapped in his blankets. He suddenly remembered something, then went to the living room, took out something from his coat, and went back to their room and tossed it far away on Xie Zhiyao’s bed.
“President Gu asked me to bring it to you.”
Xie Zhiyao was a little confused. He only realized that it was his notebook when he picked it up.
He had dropped it backstage at the wedding. Gu Chaocheng had picked it up for him and even asked someone to give it back to him.
“Do you know him?”
Xie Zhiyao didn’t know how to answer, but said, “The person who saved me on the road that day was president Gu.”
Wu Ke was astonished and raised his eyebrows after a while, “Oh.”
“What’s wrong?” Xie Zhiyao grabbed his blanket and asked nervously, “Did president Gu say anything?”
Wu Ke shook his head, “No, he didn’t say anything, he just asked me to bring this to you.”
Xie Zhiyao nodded his head in disappointment.
Wu Ke climbed into bed and was about to turn the lights off when he suddenly said, “It seems like president Gu doesn’t like omegas, he’s disgusted with the smell of omegas, but he’s also not gay.”
These words weren’t actually said from Gu Chaocheng’s mouth, and Gu Chaocheng hadn’t looked him in the eye the entire time. Wu Ke only gossiped with Gu Chaocheng’s driver while he went back to the office to get something.
“Master is a very eccentric person.” This was the driver’s comment about Gu Chaocheng.
It’s bearable if a person is a little strange, it’s fine if they have money. Wu Ke brainwashed himself, then picked up his phone and scrolled through his friend circle while humming a tune.
He didn’t notice Xie Zhiyao on the other side, whose expression had already become extremely lonely. With red-rimmed eyes, he held the small square book in his hand and stared at the ceiling without saying a word.
Xie Zhiyao thought sadly: He had never tasted the sweetness of love, but tasted the bitterness first. He shouldn’t be so easily moved.
Chapter 8
“Zhiyao, why are your dark circles so serious?” Seeing the dispirted Xie Zhiyao, Lang ge, the eldest in the group, immediately put down what he was doing at hand and walked over.
Xie Zhiyao rubbed his eyes and asked in hesitation, “Lang ge, tell me, what does it feel like to be interested in someone?”
Lang ge was stunned, then he smiled, “Oh, our youngest has grown up and is finally enlightened! Quick, tell gege who is it?”
“I-”
Their group member in the other room just happened to come out. Hearing Lang ge’s words, he instantly strode over and looked at Xie Zhiyao with a gossipy look in his eyes, “What, what, did our youngest get out of the single life?”
“I didn’t-”
Before Xie Zhiyao could finish, he was talked over by the two people around him until he had to raise his hands in surrender, “I didn’t leave the single life, and I don’t have a partner. I just have a secret one-sided interest in someone, and then they don’t like omegas.”
Lang ge’s expression stalled, and right after reacting, he patted Xie Zhiyao’s shoulder, “It’s okay, Zhiyao, don’t be sad, there are plenty of fish in the sea.”
“Yeah, this isn’t your problem. You’re so cute, it’s his loss for not liking you.”
Wu Ke came out of the room. He yawned a few times, looked at the three people on the sofa, and then went to the kitchen.
Lang ge scoffed and said scornfully, “Don’t pay attention to him. His tail raised up towards the sky after having a meal alone with Gu Chaocheng. He really thinks he’s going to marry into a rich family.”
The person next to him lowered his voice and asked, “But it’s really strange, I heard that Gu Chaocheng doesn’t interact with celebrities. Don’t mention eating alone, he doesn’t even take group photos. How can a person like him be interested in Wu Ke?”
“Don’t care about him,” Lang ge patted Xie Zhiyao’s back and said to him, “Zhiyao, don’t be influenced by him. No matter what Gu Chaocheng or Li Chaocheng, we don’t care.”
The corner of Xie Zhiyao’s mouth drooped down again.
He really wanted to listen to Lang ge’s advice and wanted to give up this abrupt and unknown interest, but his legs still didn’t obey as he ran to Yu Feng road past ten o’clock.
What if…he can meet him?
Without talking or saying hello, just taking a look at him was okay.
When he was in high school, Xie Zhiyao often heard from his friends that if you secretly fell in love with someone, you still had to go to the door of that person’s classroom even if you had to go around two to three teaching buildings after class. Xie Zhiyao didn’t understand at that time and thought it was very meaningless. He finally understood it now.
He couldn’t tell when he became attracted to Gu Chaocheng. It was probably during the alarmingly dangerous few seconds on Yu Feng road; the suspension bridge effect, where danger elicits heart palpitation. He told this to himself.
However, when he walked to the intersection of Yu Feng road, he saw Gu Chaocheng sitting under the dim yellow light in the distance. He wore a straight suit as he looked steadily forward to walk to the other end. Xie Zhiyao’s heartbeat abruptly accelerated.
Forgetting about the suspension bridge effect, and forgetting about how there are plenty of fish in the sea, he directly caught up to him. Maybe his footsteps were too heavy, or he was too excited, but Gu Chaocheng suddenly stopped and turned around when he was a few meters away from him.
Xie Zhiyao didn’t manage to stop himself, so he ran straight into Gu Chaocheng’s chest while staring blankly ahead like this.
Chapter 9
Gu Chaocheng’s chin got hurt by this little omega who popped out of nowhere. As he angrily lifted the back of Xie Zhiyao’s collar to teach him a lesson, he saw him cover his forehead. Eyes brimming with tears, he raised his head and said with a cry, “It hurts.”
“…” Gu Chaocheng forgot what he was about to do for a moment. He let go and pulled away Xie Zhiyao’s arm to check his forehead, “Are you okay?”
“It’s definitely swelling,” Xie Zhiyao cried, “I’m going to be disfigured!”
“It’s not swelling.”
“It’ll swell up later!”
Gu Chaocheng dare not move anymore. He inexplicably had the guilty conscience of a perpetrator, “What should I do? Should I buy you some medicine?”
Xie Zhiyao calmed down after a few minutes and was aware that his delicate appearance just now was shameful. He wiped away his tears with his back turned, then turned back around to apologize to Gu Chaocheng, “I’m sorry Mr Gu, I didn’t mean to hit you.”
Gu Chaocheng couldn’t keep up with his emotional changes, “Does it still hurt?”
“Much better,” Xie Zhiyao shook his head.
Gu Chaocheng reached out and touched the red mark where Xie Zhiyao was hit with the back of his hand. His hand was a little cold. Xie Zhiyao stood still in a daze, not daring to move, but he suddenly thought about what Wu Ke had said- president Gu doesn’t like omegas, he hates the smell of omegas. He suddenly took a step back, taking the initiative to distance himself.
Gu Chaocheng touched the empty air and looked at him without knowing why.
“I’m sorry, Mr Gu.” Xie Zhiyao said.
His docile appearance made Gu Chaocheng a little confused. He was inexperienced with omegas and never tried to get into contact with them as much as possible before. Now that he really encountered one, he became frantic and disoriented.
But it seemed as if Xie Zhiyao was different from other omegas. He’s not as bad as Tu Yan, nor as shameless as those who beg to climb into his bed…
Stop!
Gu Chaocheng stopped himself from his rapidly developing thoughts. He glanced down at Xie Zhiyao, “If you’re fine then that’s good.”
He turned to leave, but XIe Zhiyao grabbed his sleeve, “Mr Gu, can I treat you to a meal to apologize?”
“No need.”
Xie Zhiyao loosened his grip, “Oh.”
He watched Gu Chaocheng turn around and leave. His back was always straight and upright whenever he walked, appearing especially tall and steady. However, not knowing if he had bad vision himself, Xie Zhiyao felt that Gu Chaocheng’s pace was a little faster than before.
Back in the dormitory, he put an ice pack on his forehead all night. When he woke up the next day, the first thing he did was to run to the front of his mirror to see if there was swelling.
“Thank god, thank god, I’m not disfigured.” Xie Zhiyao ran back to bed and breathed a long sigh of relief, “If not I’m finished for the performance this afternoon.”
He kicked the blankets cheerily and heard someone in the living room speaking in a loud volume.
“I’ll go! An invitation from the entertainment singing stage? They’re inviting us to bring our new album to them next month to promote?!”
Xie Zhiyao froze. The entertainment singing stage was currently the hottest music show. According to common sense, their group was not qualified enough to go.
“Ge, did you pull the strings for this?”
The manager’s voice rang out, “No, how can I be so capable? I’m not even clear about what’s going on, but I think it may be because of Wu Ke. He had a meal with Gu Chaocheng before and maybe Gu Chaocheng was very satisfied with him, so he helped him pull some strings.”
The group of people roared with laughter, the usual malice disappeared in the excitement of being on the entertainment music show.
Xie Zhiyao thought this wasn’t too good for him.
Very selfish, very sinister, and had a love mind1, but he still couldn’t be happy.
When no one was outside, he took a bowl of dog food and a bowl of cat foot in loneliness, then carried them downstairs.
The two cats very quickly smelled his scent and surrounded him, rubbing against his pants legs. He poured cat food in, and turned to pour dog food for the dog. When he wanted to reach out to touch its head, the dog avoided him in an agile way, rushing to the bowl and scoffing down the food.
Xie Zhiyao’s memory was revived by the sight of it and was even more sad, “Stinky dog, you are just like that big stupid dog!”
He ran upstairs angirly, picked up his notebook, and wanted to write a few big words down; ‘I don’t want to like Gu Chaocheng anymore’. He wrote halfway but thought it looked ugly, so he was about to turn a new page to rewrite it. But as he flipped and flipped, he felt that something was not right.
He slowed down, flipping page by page, then suddenly stopped.
On a blank page, Tu Yan’s signature was written clearly.
Xie Zhiyao remembered what Tu Yan’s signature looked like. This one was real.
He choked on a breath, and couldn’t write the remaining three words ‘Gu Chao Cheng’.
Chapter 10
Gu Chenbai finished his work at hand and was ready to go home. After entering the elevator, he remembered something, so he pressed the button for the next floor and went to Gu Chaocheng’s office.
Sure enough, Gu Chaocheng was still working overtime.
Gu Chenbai knocked on the door and heard a low “please come in” from inside.
“Ge, have you eaten?”
At his words, Gu Chaocheng looked up, and his cold expression eased a little, “Yes, are you going back?”
“Mn, Tu Bao hasn’t had dinner.”
Gu Chaocheng knitted his brows, “Is his hand broken? Why doesn’t he have the ability to take care of himself at all? I just don’t understand, did you marry a wife or are you raising a child?”
Gu Chenbai raised an eyebrow, “It’s not conflicting, there’s double the joy.”
Gu Chaocheng’s expression instantly turned bad as he waved his hand, “Fine, fine, fine, you can go.”
“Ge,” Gu Chenbai walked up and asked him with a smile, “Did you return that notebook?”
“Mn.”
“What’s his reaction?”
“Who?”
Gu Chenbai couldn’t help but sigh, “The owner of the notebook.”
“Oh, I don’t know, I asked his roommate to return it to him.”
Gu Chaocheng looked at Gu Chenbai with a poker-face after he said this, as though he didn’t know what he meant. Gu Chenbai laughed angrily, “I took the risk of getting kicked out the door by Tu Bao to ask for a signature for you, yet you didn’t even meet the person?”
“I didn’t even say I wanted to meet him,” Gu Chaocheng paused, his gaze flustered as he concentrated on the computer screen.
Oh, who’s the one who ran backstage after the wedding, asking people he bumped into if the performance’s dance group had left? Then there was someone who watched Qi He studio’s bus drive off with the notebook in his hand, out of his wits as he stood under the eaves.
Gu Chenbai helped him out of kindness, yet was said to have acted on his own initiative by this person. He gave up on curing Gu Chaocheng and said helplessly, “Such a good opportunity to- forget it, you’re free to play as you wish.”
Gu Chaocheng stiffened for a few seconds, but stopped Gu Chenbai when he was about to leave, “Chenbai, omegas aren’t all like Tu Yan, right?”
Gu Chenbai laughed aloud, “What did Tu Yan do to you? Are you so afraid of him?”
“…I dislike him for being annoying, causing disturbance, and hurting others with his words.”
“Then you should find someone good, gentle and can talk.”
Gu Chaocheng paused and didn’t reply.
Gu Chenbai said,”Ge, if you can meet someone like that, you must find a way to catch them. You’ll regret it your whole life if you miss the chance.” He then shut the door and left.
Chapter 11
Xie Zhiyao’s current mood was very complicated.
He didn’t understand why Gu Chaocheng would help him get Tu Yan’s signature. This behaviour was simply ambiguous to him, like it was a little secret that only the two of them in the whole world knew. He didn’t even dare to look at the notebook again. When his gaze fell on top of it, his heartbeat would thump.
Xie Zhiyao felt that the irregularity of the rhythm of his heart was very serious these days. If he went on like this, he would be finished.
First love is so hurtful. Sure enough, being in love was really not an easy thing.
He originally wanted to hang around Yu Feng road tonight, but the manager forbade him. The manager said that he was slacking in dance practice recently and had an improper attitude, so he made him practice properly alone in the dance classroom. Xie Zhiyao stuffed rice into his mouth in a huff, deciding to eat as much as he could consume.
Wu Ke happened to come back from outside then. The manager wanted to scold him, but as he thought about what happened with Gu Chaocheng, he didn’t dare to get angry with him easily, and asked attentively, “Ke, did president Gu get in touch with you lately?”
Wu Ke was stunned. He rolled his eyes and said, “Not much, he said he’s been busy with work recently.”
The manager was a little disappointed, but he still smiled and said, “You can try to be proactive.”
Wu Ke nodded his head indifferently, changed his shoes and went to the room.
Xie Zhiyao listened silently by the side, and the food in his mouth became difficult to swallow. He thought: What ‘ambiguous’, Xie Zhiyao, you’re being self-sentimental again, you don’t even have big stupid dog’s number, yet you’re still thinking about dating. However, Xie Zhiyao was an optimist, he fiercely stuffed half a bowl of rice in his stomach and told himself: I’ll solve difficulties when I encounter them, if I don’t have his number, I’ll go ask for it!
He rushed to the dance classroom and practised dancing dozens of times. Then he took a video to send to the planning team according to the manager’s request, letting them post it on Weibo. After that, he rushed to Yu Feng road before ten o’clock, stood at the head of the road, and stretched his neck to look on both sides.
However, he waited for over two hours and still hadn’t seen Gu Chaocheng.
How could he have known that this morning, Gu Chaocheng had flown to Lan city for a business trip.
Xie Zhiyao sneezed three times from the early morning wind. He then ran back to the dormitory shivering, before worming into his blankets without even taking a shower.
When he woke up the next day, the alarm had been ringing for a long time before he heard it. But he couldn’t open his eyes, in a daze, and it was Lang ge who went over to him to call him. He reached out to touch his forehead and found that he was having a fever.
In a confused state of mind, Xie Zhiyao gulped down the medicine Lang ge gave him. The manager knocked on the door and told them: We’re going to Lan city today, there’s a shooting for a variety show there.
Chapter 12
Xie Zhiyao had always had good health and only caught a cold once a year. In his memory, he had never caught such an illness that came down like a mountain. After taking the medicine, he thought quietly; this high fever that came so heavily was probably due to depression.
After holding on for an entire day’s worth of programs, Xie Zhiyao felt that he was about to fall apart and almost fainted in the dressing room. Lang ge passed him the room card, letting him go back to the room quickly to take a rest and that he shouldn’t go to the dinner party that evening.
Xie Zhiyao was originally uninterested in the dinner party. This was exactly what he wanted, so he took the room card and left.
He glanced at the room card number before entering the elevator, and then followed the arrow on the wall to the room, “1808…”
When he arrived at his destination, Xie Zhiyao picked up the room card and swiped it twice over the sensor. However, the error warning sounded, “eh?”, Xie Zhiyao thought it was strange. He turned the card over and swiped it again a few times, but the door still didn’t open.
In doubt, he was about to try again, but the door in front of him opened by itself.
Inside stood an unfamiliar man, tall and appeared like an alpha. He wore an exquisite nightgown, but impatience was written between his brows, his eyes conveying a bad signal.
“Who are you?”
Xie Zhiyao trembled, and just realized that he had the wrong room. He immediately bowed and apologized. As he was about to leave, the man grabbed his wrist. Seeing Xie Zhiyao’s small face flushed red and his limbs weak, the man thought that his heat period was coming and needed to be solved urgently. He saw that no one was around and pulled Xie Zhiyao into the room, “A little omega who’s sent to the door, and even looks pretty.”
“No-”
The man was very strong and Xie Zhiyao’s wrist was pinched until it hurt. Unfortunately, he was sore all over and couldn’t get rid of it. He was scared to death and shouted for help, but the man covered his mouth.
Just then, someone grabbed his shoulder from behind and moved him back
A solid chest plastered to his back. Xie Zhiyao’s heart hung in his throat.
“President Yang, are you drunk?” Gu Chaocheng’s voice rang in Xie Zhiyao’s ear.
Like a divine soldier descended from heaven. Xie Zhiyao was stunned for a moment, and was suddenly not afraid anymore.
The man froze, he looked up at Gu Chaocheng and immediately let go, “President Gu?”
Gu Chaocheng pulled Xie Zhiyao behind him, his expression turned cold as he said to the man, “President Yang, since you’re drunk, you should go to bed early.”
The man glanced at Xie Zhiyao, then looked back at Gu Chaocheng. His eyes immediately became clear as he smiled mockingly, “Yes, yes, yes, I recognized the wrong person in my drunkenness, I thought he’s my friend.”
He apologized to Xie Zhiyao shamefully. Xie Zhiyao shrank behind Gu Chaocheng without speaking or answering.
When Gu Chaocheng took Xie Zhiyao away, the man was still smiling, but the corners of his mouth clearly sank.
“Mr Gu, what should we do?” Xie Zhiyao was a little afraid after that. He followed Gu Chaocheng and asked nervously, “Will he retaliate against you?”
Gu Chaocheng took him to his room without saying a word. He opened the door to let Xie Zhiyao in before explaining to him, “You stay here first, I’ll come back later.”
Having escaped from a disaster, he was like driftwood. Naturally, whatever Gu Chaocheng said was what it was.
When Gu Chaocheng went out, Xie Zhiyao sat on the couch and waited for him nervously. Gu Chaocheng came back after ten minutes and was met with Xie Zhiyao’s anxious eyes as soon as he entered the door.
“Don’t be afraid.” Gu Chaocheng said subconsciously.
Tears pooled in Xie Zhiyao’s eyes. Gu Chaocheng walked up to him in hesitation and reached out his hand helplessly, gently patting the top of Xie Zhiyao’s head.
“Don’t be afraid, it’s been dealt with.” Gu Chaocheng said, “I’ve asked the hotel to monitor him, he wouldn’t dare to find you for revenge.”
Xie Zhiyao sniffed. Gu Chaocheng thought that he was still scared. Just as his brain was running at full speed thinking about what comforting words to say, he heard Xie Zhiyao’s weeping and aggrieved sentence, “Then did you help me take revenge?”
Gu Chaocheng thought, I just contacted the legal department and ended my contract renewal with that person’s company, is this counted as revenge?
“Do you want me to beat him up?”
Xie Zhiyuan wanted to nod, but he felt that his request was a little too much, WHat was his identity? And he didn’t know if Gu Chaocheng even remembered his name. That person seemed to be Gu Chaocheng’s business partner and shouldn’t be offended.
Xie Zhiyao just clenched his fists before loosening them, “Forget it.”
Gu Chaocheng just remembered that the door wasn’t shut and wanted to turn around to close it, but Xie Zhiyao thought that he really wanted to beat that man up, and he panicked, quickly hugging Gu Chaocheng’s arm as he begged, “Don’t fight, don’t fight, I don’t want you to get hurt…”
Gu Chaocheng felt Xie Zhiyao’s hand and asked in surprise, “Why is your body so hot? Are you in heat?”
“I-”
“You still dare to run about when you’re in heat?” Gu Chaocheng lifted Xie Zhiyao away and distanced himself from him, saying furiously, “I haven’t asked you yet; what are you, an omega in heat, doing in a strange alpha’s room? Do you know what would have happened if I hadn’t been there today?”
Xie Zhiyao was being scolded so much that he couldn’t get a word in, He was originally already feeling discomfort, and felt even more wronged now. If he hadn’t been foolish enough to go to Yu Feng road and get blown by the cold wind all night, he wouldn’t have caught a fever, and today’s situation wouldn’t have happened.
“I had my heat half a month ago, didn’t you already know?”
As soon as these words fell, both of them froze.
Xie Zhiyao wiped his tears and was about to leave. Gu Chaocheng didn’t dare to pull him back, so he followed behind him and asked in a low voice, “Then what’s the matter with you?”
“I have a fever! Can I not?” From his pocket, Xie Zhiyao held the flu medicine that had to be mixed with water in front of Gu Chaocheng.
Gu Chaocheng’s brain suddenly short circuited. He grabbed the medicine from Xie Zhiyao’s hand, stopping him, and said awkwardly, “I-I’ll mix it for you.”
Chapter 13
Just like that, Xie Zhiyao was inexplicably lying on Gu Chaocheng’s bed. Then he watched as Gu Chaocheng got a portable food tray from god knows where and even brought him the mixed flu medicine. Gu Chaocheng’s actions were natural, as though the two of them were intimate lovers.
“Have you eaten?”
Xie Zhiyao held the bowl, “No.”
“What do you want to eat? I’ll order for you.”
Xie Zhiyao felt hot all over from the steam. He buried his face in the bowl and answered shyly, “I’m not picky with food.”
“Then shall I order?”
Xie Zhiyao nodded, “Okay.”
Gu Chaocheng went to the living room to call his secretary and reported a few dishes to him, asking him to order the hotel’s kitchen to bring them up as soon as possible. Xie Zhiyao had just finished the medicine when he returned to the bedroom. He had been holding the bowl as he secretly watched him and quickly averted his gaze when he saw him come back.
Seeing that he was sitting obediently on his bed, Gu Chaocheng’s heart felt an unavoidable peculiarity.
“Mr Gu,” Xie Zhiyao lowered his head and his tone suddenly dropped, “Do you still remember my name?”
“I remember, Xie Zhiyao.”
It was the first time that Gu Chaocheng called him by his full name. Xie Zhiyao’s face turned redder, he tugged on the quilt and said, “Then- then you only know my name. After all, we’ve only met a few times. In fact, we’re just like strangers.”
Gu Chaocheng was a little sad by what he said, as if a basin of cold water was poured on his little thoughts that had just sprouted. That’s right, he was just a stranger to Xie Zhiyao, and was even an unpleasant stranger. After all, Xie Zhiyao was either crying or angry whenever he met him.
Seeing that Gu Chaocheng was silent, Xie Zhi thought he had crossed the line. He put down his bowl and asked cautiously, “Mr. Gu, am I disturbing you?”
Gu Chaocheng came back to his senses and took the bowl from him, “No.”
“Then…” Xie Zhiyao looked up at him, his gaze not evading at all, “Mr Gu, are you single?”
Gu Chaocheng was stunned. He didn’t dare to look at Xie Zhiyao, so he looked at the bowl in his hand and answered, “Yes.”
Xie Zhiyao’s eyes lit up and he instantly grinned. He laid down and leaned sideways slightly, but his eyes were staring straight at Gu Chaocheng as he said with a smile, “Mr Gu, what medicine did you give me? How is it so effective? My head doesn’t hurt anymore as soon as I drink it.”
Gu Chaocheng’s face turned cold. He immediately went to the kitchen to check the flu medicine that had just been torn open. After confirming that it was correct, he returned to the bedside and said to Xie Zhiyao, “It’s the flu medicine you just gave me, it’s not the wrong one, is there a problem with this medicine?”
“…” Xie Zhiyao’s smile froze on his lips. He turned over, pulled up the quilt and covered himself, replying stiffly, “No problem.”
Gu Chaocheng didn’t know what he said wrong and made Xie Zhiyao unhappy again. He stood by the bed and fought a waging war for a few minutes before deciding to continue what he had been saying earlier, “I don’t only know your name, but also that you are twenty-one this year, you’re an artist from Qi He’s studio, and your dance group is called AGT.”
Xie Zhiyao’s mouth curled as he thought, what kind of understanding is this? Didn’t I tell you these things? I’ve gone on the internet much earlier to research about you until I became crystal clear and know everything by heart, okay?
“Oh, that only proves that we are half strangers.”
Gu Chaocheng was silent again.
He really wanted to call Gu Chenbai for help now to ask him to teach him conversational skills with omegas.
After a long silence, the little omega’s voice called out gently from the room, “Mr Gu, actually, if you don’t know what to say, you don’t have to talk. I just want to chat with you, not interrogate you.”
