Limited Possession - Chap 37
Gu Chaocheng’s story
Chapter 14
Xie Zhiyao turned over and patted the side of the bed, “Mr Gu, I want to have a chat with you, is that okay?”
Gu Chaocheng’s throat tightened and could only glance at the person on the bed, feeling flustered. He sat down awkwardly, afraid of pressing on Xie Zhiyao’s leg, and shifted several positions before sitting down. He had completely forgotten that this was his room and his bed.
“Mr Gu, I didn’t expect that I would meet you here, are you here on a business trip? When are you going back?”
“I’ll go back after work is done.”
Xie Zhiyao moved a little closer. It was clear that they were the only two people in this room, but he still lowered his voice and said nervously, “Did that man just now have business to do with you? Since you humiliated him, will he retaliate against you?”
“No, he wouldn’t dare.”
The corners of Xie Zhiyao’s mouth bent when he heard this, “So cool.”
Gu Chaocheng’s body stiffened a little again.
“I heard Wu Ke say that you don’t like omegas and hate the scent of omegas, is that true?” Xie Zhiyao’s confidence disappeared the more he spoke, his voice becoming smaller and smaller.
“I’ve never said that,” Gu Chaocheng frowned and asked doubtfully, “Who is Wu Ke?”
“It’s the beta that you took away in the Sheng He building the other time. He’s my roommate. Didn’t you have a meal with him? And you even told him a lot about your past…” Xie Zhiyao mumbled, “What’s there to pretend to be stupid for.”
“I don’t know his name, I just ate a meal with him and I didn’t talk to him.”
Xie Zhiyao’s eyes widened and he asked incredulously, “How could you not have talked? You guys left after four o’clock, and he came back to the dorm at eight thirty, did you not talk at all within those four hours?”
Gu Chaocheng recalled carefully, and then nodded self-confidently, “Yes.”
Xie Zhiyao choked. This type of situation didn’t seem impossible for Gu Chaocheng.
“Oh, I only asked him to bring you the notebook. I didn’t say anything else.”
Xie Zhiyao smiled, “I saw the signature, thank you.”
“No problem, I actually wasn’t the one-”
The doorbell rang before Gu Chaocheng could finish; the food probably arrived. He got up to open the door and felt a sense of relief when he went out the room. The wind from the corridor slipped in as the door opened, pouring into Gu Chaocheng’s shirt collar. Only then did he realize that he had a layer of sweat on the back of his neck.
The hotel waiter pushed the cart in and left. Gu Chaocheng asked Xie Zhiyao whether he wanted to eat in the dining room or in bed.
Xie Zhiyao wanted to say that he could go to the dining room, but before he could say anything, he sneezed loudly.
Hence, Gu Chaocheng brought the dishes to the portable tray he had prepared in advance, and put the dishes in front of Xie Zhiyao.
“Mr Gu, why do you take care of others so well?” Xie Zhiyao felt strange that regardless of his identity or personality, Gu Chaocheng didn’t seem like a master who would serve others.
“I took care of my younger brother for several years and formed a habit.”
Xie Zhiyao was stunned. He thought of the rumoured second young master Gu at the wedding. Although he had a superior appearance, there seemed to be a problem with his right leg and he had to lean on a cane when he walked.
Xie Zhiyao didn’t dare to ask more about such things. He turned silent, took the chopsticks handed over by Gu Chaocheng, and ate obediently. When he had a sip of soup, he saw Gu Chaocheng standing motionless beside him, so he reached out to pull his sleeve towards the bedside, “Eat with me, how can I finish eating so much?”
Gu Chaocheng’s refusal drowned in his throat as his hands were stuffed with a bowl.
“I have no appetite. You can show me your live eating broadcast.”
Gu Chaocheng felt that this was a little insulting to him. As he was about to get angry, he saw Xie Zhiyao holding the porridge bowl, frowning and swallowing it bit by bit into his stomach, and suddenly his fire went out.
“You eat so little, how can you not fall sick?” Gu Chaocheng picked up the bowl while preaching, and then began his eating broadcast with dedication. He was actually tired of the hotel food, but he didn’t know whether the cook had changed. Today’s food was unexpectedly much better.
Xie Zhiyao smiled as he held his bowl, and quickly bowed his head to continue eating before Gu Chaocheng looked at him.
Chapter 15
“I’m so full. I’m sweating all over from the heat.” Xie Zhiyao said as he touched his round tummy.
Gu Chaocheng pushed the dining tray aside. He took off his suit jacket, wearing only a black shirt without a tie, the shirt had a good draping effect and texture. When he bent over, Xie Zhiyao could catch a glimpse of Gu Chaocheng’s muscle lines in the shirt along with his strong figure. It was a pity that Gu Chaocheng’s expression was nothing to write home about, but it didn’t matter, in Xie Zhiyao’s eight hundred times photoshop filter, Gu Chaocheng’s weakness became ascentric and sexy.
Xie Zhiyao swallowed his saliva, but he couldn’t stop the roller coaster in his mind.
He stared at Gu Chaocheng and blurted out, “My group members have all gone to dinner and may come back late.”
Gu Chaocheng wasn’t able to react for a bit.
“I probably have to go to bed early tonight, I’m afraid they’ll disturb me when they come back.” Xie Zhiyao added.
Gu Chaocheng paused for a few seconds, then averted his eyes, barely maintaining a stable voice, “T-then, you can sleep here.”
Xie Zhiyao succeeded in his trickery, but he still blushed hopelessly.
Was he being too bold? He even frightened himself, “Restrain yourself, restrain yourself a little, Xie Zhiyao.” Xie Zhiyao said quietly in his heart.
“Where would you sleep then?”
Gu Chaocheng said, “I’ll take another room.”
Xie Zhiyao made an ‘mn’ sound. Although it was unexpected, he wasn’t too surprised. If Gu Chaocheng took advantage of his state now, Xie Zhiyao would be upset instead. Fortunately, he didn’t make an error in judgement.
Xie Zhiyao’s favour for Gu Chaocheng increased by another ten points.
“I need to go back to take a change of clothes,” He suddenly remembered.
Gu Chaocheng said, “Alright, I’ll accompany you.”
Xie Zhiyao put on his coat, took out the card from his pocket and held it in front of Gu Chaocheng. “I read it wrong before. It’s 1308, but I saw it as 1808.”
“Don’t read it wrong next time.” Gu Chaocheng helped him press the elevator, and his tone was very serious.
Xie Zhiyao nodded vigorously, raised three fingers and swore, “I definitely won’t!”
They walked to Xie Zhiyao’s room. His group members hadn’t come back yet, but Xie Zhiyao felt guilty about behaving like a thief. He hurriedly took out a set of clothes and toiletries, then ran out of the room, almost bumping into Gu Chaocheng.
Gu Chaocheng held onto him and took something from his arms. Xie Zhiyao suddenly looked up and smiled at him, “We look like we’re sneaking like this -“
He consciously said the wrong thing, so he didn’t dare to continue speaking. He lowered his head, and burned all the way from his neck to his earlobes. Gu Chaocheng didn’t understand what he said and watched as his face became hotter. He thought that his high fever had not subsided, so he hurriedly took him back to his room and made him a cup of antipyretic medicine.
Xie Zhiyao was most afraid of eating medicine, so when Gu Chaocheng wasn’t paying attention, he squeezed into the bathroom to take a shower.
Gu Chaocheng knocked on the door outside the bathroom with the medicine bowl in his hand and urged Xie Zhiyao to come out. Xie Zhiyao’s clothes were half taken off, so he had no choice but to put them on again. He slowly opened the door with a bitter expression and stared at Gu Chaocheng with eyes full of resentment. At this time, Gu Chaocheng thought to adopt the stance of a president and directly connected the bowl to Xie Zhiyao’s mouth. Xie Zhiyao’s resistance was ineffective and had to gulp the whole bowl of medicine from Gu Chaocheng’s hand.
Gu Chaocheng helped him shut the bathroom door with satisfaction.
After Xie Zhiyao took a shower, Gu Chaocheng was reading documents on his laptop on the desk outside. Xie Zhiyao didn’t dare to disturb him. He took his phone and crept back to bed to play by himself.
Half an hour later, Gu Chaocheng finished his work and closed his laptop. When passing the bathroom, he smelled the faint scent of honey-peach remaining inside. His heart suddenly beat faster, which he had never felt before. Gu Chaocheng was used to being alone. Silence had been the constant theme of his twenty-seven years of life, but now, self-doubt emerged. Perhaps he needed it to be a little lively.
Xie Zhiyao was scrolling through his Weibo in bed with boredom, but his attention was always focused on Gu Chaocheng. He heard Gu Chaocheng’s footsteps approaching the bedroom.
Xie Zhiyao pulled up the quilt and didn’t even dare to breathe out.
“Are you feeling better?” Gu Chaocheng walked over, took the electronic thermometer at the head of the bed and tested Xie Zhiyao’s temperature, “Thirty-six point five degrees, it’s gone down.”
Xie Zhiyao, who had just washed his hair and dried it, looked like a fluffy little animal. With his hands on his chest, he looked especially obedient. Gu Chaocheng looked away and said with a low voice, “Go to bed early, I’ll be next door, call me if you need anything.”
“But I still don’t have your number!’ Xie Zhiyao felt very wronged.
Gu Chaocheng took out his phone, opened his address book, and handed it to Xie Zhiyao. Xie Zhiyao quickly keyed in his number, and a few seconds later, the tinkling of bells rang out. Xie Zhiyao then revealed a smile.
Gu Chaocheng felt that he couldn’t stay any longer. When he was about to leave, Xie Zhiyao called out to him again, “Mr. Gu…”
“Hm?”
“I have a request. I know it’s too much. If you don’t want to, you can refuse me.”
“Say it.”
“Can you wait here until I fall asleep? Your room is too big, I’m afraid to be by myself,” Xie Zhiyao put on a pitiful expression, “I fall asleep very quickly, just ten minutes more, okay?”
Gu Chaocheng felt that he had a stress reaction to Xie Zhiyao’s “okay?”.
He said subconsciously, “Okay.”
Xie Zhiyao was obviously happy and twisted around in bed.
Gu Chaocheng pressed him down, “Go to sleep.”
The corners of Xie Zhiyao’s mouth were tilted high. Barely controlling it, he closed his eyes and said, “I’ll sleep, I’ll sleep.”
Xie Zhiyao originally thought he would be too excited to sleep, but perhaps it was because of his illness, the smell of Gu Chaocheng, or the peace of mind Gu Chaocheng brought to him by being by his side, his brain ran actively for a few minutes before he soon unexpectedly entered a deep sleep.
He almost didn’t dream throughout the night.
Chapter 16
Xie Zhiyao soon fell asleep, but Gu Chaocheng didn’t leave immediately. He sat at the head of the bed and watched him sleeping quietly for a long time. Xie Zhiyao didn’t sleep properly, lying on his back with his legs wide apart.
According to reason, Gu Chaocheng would frown when he saw such a sleeping position, but he didn’t. His first reaction was that; in the future, they would sleep in the same bed. Would he be squeezed out of bed by Xie Zhiyao?
He quickly consciously and ridiculously withdrew this thought. Not to mention whether Xie Zhiyao thought of him in that way, but even if he did, he should not secretly think about others like this.
Xie Zhiyao’s eyes were full of love and joy. Gu Chaocheng had never been in love and dared not make a final decision.
It wasn’t that Gu Chaocheng didn’t meet omegas who liked him, but those people either took a fancy to his family’s money, or became interested in his appearance and lost interest after contacting him. Xie Zhiyao was the only one who was always in high spirits that would even intensify.
He helped Xie Zhiyao tuck in the quilt, then walked out lightly, turning off the light and leaving.
Xie Zhiyao slept well that night, but Gu Chaocheng didn’t sleep at all. His drowsiness was swept along with that faint scent of honey-peach, making him restless and couldn’t sleep all night.
……
Xie Zhiyao slept the heaviest and sweetest sleep he ever had this month. He woke up muddle-headedly and didn’t know where he was, but he soon remembered that this was Gu Chaocheng’s room. Gu Chaocheng slept in this place the night before yesterday. Xie Zhiyao’s face turned red. He pulled the quilt tightly around him until he heard his phone ring.
Lang ge called him, “Zhiyao, where are you?”
Xie Zhiyao was startled, and his thoughts quickly returned, “I-I’m having a run outside.”
“Oh, come back quickly and have breakfast. The video recording in the morning starts at eight thirty.”
Xie Zhiyao sent a text message to Gu Chaocheng, then packed his clothes and left his room.
Xie Zhiyao and Lang ge slept in the same room. When he returned to 1308, Lang ge was putting on his shoes. He saw Xie Zhiyao, pointed to the bed that was neat as new, and asked him, “You didn’t sleep here last night, did you?”
Xie Zhiyuan couldn’t hide, so he had to admit, “Mn.”
“Where did you sleep?”
“At a friend’s.” Xie Zhiyao hesitated.
Lang ge asked again, but Xie Zhiyao shut his mouth and didn’t answer. Although Lang ge was in doubt, everyone was an adult, so he couldn’t ask further.
When they were having breakfast downstairs, Wu Ke was sitting opposite Xie Zhiyao. Xie Zhiyao suddenly had confidence because of Gu Chaocheng’s words, so he looked up and squared his shoulders, without a shred of timidity he had the past few days. Wu Ke gave him a strange look.
At the end of the meal, a stranger suddenly walked up to their table, and the manager got up to meet him, “Mr. Zhou, why are you here?”
Xie Zhiyao later learned that Mr. Zhou was the head of the Lan city branch of Hua Sheng group.
Mr. Zhou simply greeted the manager and then asked, “Who is Xie Zhiyao?”
Xie Zhiyao didn’t know the situation and raised his hand.
Mr. Zhou came over and gave the small bag in his hand to Xie Zhiyao, “Mr. Xie, president Gu asked me to tell you to take medicine on time.”
The eyes of a table of people quickly gathered on Xie Zhiyao, especially Wu Ke. He was the first person to react to “who was president Gu”, because he always remembered that the only sentence Gu Chaocheng said to him was “please help me give this to Xie Zhiyao, thank you”.
Xie Zhiyao got up and took it, thanking him.
After Mr. Zhou left, everyone in the group gathered around and asked all sorts of questions, especially Lang ge, who pressed his shoulder and asked him where he had slept last night. Xie Zhiyao didn’t answer at all, just holding the small bag in his hand and smiling foolishly.
Before going on the program, Wu Ke grabbed him and stared at him gloomily. “Aren’t you the one who hates to associate with those rich second-generation people? Is it interesting to dig them over to your side?”
It was like Xie Zhiyao heard a big joke, “What does he have to do with you? Are you afraid that you’re not dreaming?”
Wu Ke’s eyes widened, it was like a sharp thorn had pierced his heart.
“He isn’t like the rich second generation people in your phone. Besides, he belongs to me, you don’t think about it.”
Chapter 17
After having Gu Chaocheng’s contact information, Xie Zhiyao was as happy as a fairy. He quickly added Gu Chaocheng’s WeChat, and then harassed Gu Chaocheng from time to time.
“Mr Gu, what are you up to?”
“Mr. Gu, I just finished dancing, I feel sore all over.”
“Mr. Gu, my mom was cleaning today and suddenly found a picture of me when I was a child, I’ll show you! Was I cute? When I was in kindergarten, I relied on my face to win little red flowers.”
“Mr Gu, I want to drink milk tea, but our manager won’t let me.”
“Mr Gu, I don’t want to call you Mr Gu.”
Gu Chaocheng replied to this one quickly, “Then what do you want to call me?”
Xie Zhiyao held his phone and replied, “What do you want me to call you?”
Gu Chaocheng’s hands shook and didn’t dare to reply.
“Gege? Gu da-ge? It’s too out of fashion,” Xie Zhiyao quickly denied these tacky titles and asked, “Are we friends now?”
Gu Chaocheng was nervous across the screen, “Yes.”
“I want to call you Gu Chaochao.”
Gu Chaocheng looked at the two superimposed characters behind those three words and didn’t react for a moment.
“Is that okay? It’s more intimate like this.”
Gu Chaocheng didn’t say okay, because his mind was full of the look of Xie Zhiyao holding his arm and softly calling him Gu Chaochao. Whenever Xie Zhiyao talked to him, the last sound was always long and whiny, which was unbearable.
“Do you call others like that?”
Xie Zhiyao sent an emoticon of a villain raising his hand and swearing, his words sincere, “Except my mom and dad, I only call you like this.”
Gu Chaocheng’s heart was filled with the sweetness of a honey-peach scent.
“If you don’t speak, I’ll take it as if you agree! Goodnight, Gu Chaochao.”
Gu Chaocheng felt that every time he was with Xie Zhiyao, he was a few years younger for no reason.
