Lop-Eared Guard - Chap 83
The collapsed outer wall continued to shower gravel downwards. On land, Shangjin was holding onto the deformed steel bars melted by explosives and looking towards the horizon. Blood streaks spread along his arm, dripping from his fingertips to the ground.
He no longer felt any pain and could only see a vast white light before him. An intangible wall separated him from the world, and he could not hear the chaotic gunfire and the sounds of instruments falling due to explosions behind him. He only saw the insulated glass cup in the ward roll down from the head of the bed, which startled him like a thunderclap.
As he captured the faint scent of candy-flavored pheromones in the air and located the opponent’s escape route, he sent a message to his assistant.
The PBB members outside the ward were covering the main force’s retreat. Xia Pingtian held Dr. Zhong in his arms and let him lean on his shoulder. He picked up the alarm communicator with a furious tone and spoke into the monitoring speakers located throughout the corners of the Sophia Hospital:
“Security personnel, attention. I am Xia Pingtian. Close all exits and activate the highest level of protection orders. All medical staff should crouch down in place.”
He repeated the command in English. As soon as the order was issued, the doors of all the examination rooms in the Sophia Hospital were immediately locked, and the firewalls rose at lightning speed. Dozens of well-equipped security personnel wearing bulletproof vests rushed out of the elevators from the underground to the first floor, surrounding the PBB fighters who had not yet escaped.
Shangjin handed the remaining surgical knife in his hand to Dr. Zhong, who had dry and pale lips but still skillfully used the surgical knife to remove the bullet from his abdomen. Xia Pingtian held a magazine and released the calming pheromones to Dr. Zhong.
“I will compensate for the losses to the hospital when I return,” Shangjin said.
“None of this concerns you.” Xia Pingtian lowered his head to look at Dr. Zhong, who was treating his gunshot wound. PBB wasn’t just there to capture Yan Yi, they were after all high-level Omegas, including Dr. Zhong, who possessed the rare M2 Qingfeng vine gland type.
Dr. Zhong’s Qingfeng vine gland M2 ability, “healing art”, was enough to heal his gunshot wound, but Dr. Zhong’s icy hand was also placed on the scratch on Xia Pingtian’s cheek.
As the wound healed, Dr. Zhong placed his hand on Lu Shangjin’s right shoulder, injecting a large amount of gland energy into the wound. Although the residual poison had not been completely cleared, the healing of the wound was only a temporary solution, but at least it wouldn’t cause excessive bleeding.
Lu Shangjin grabbed his wrist to stop him from exerting too much energy. Dr. Zhong reluctantly pulled up the corners of his mouth, pale and lightly smiling, telling him, “You have to go save people.” He had returned to the country after studying and researching abroad for so many years, and this goal had never changed. He wanted to save not only Yan Yi but also the hope of high-level Omegas.
Immediately after, Dr. Zhong was shouted at by Xia Pingtian, but he didn’t hear what he was shouting about. Several doctors helped him into the operating room to stop the bleeding and suture the wound. Xia Pingtian smashed the wall in anger, grabbed his gun, and followed Lu Shangjin to break through the evacuation channel, while also sending a message to Xia Jingtian, asking him to wait for him and not to run around. But he received no reply.
Lu Shangjin relayed the message to Bi Ruijing, and PBB mobilized on a large scale. The situation for any nearby high-level Omegas was extremely dangerous.
”What should we do now?” Xia Pingtian pushed in a new magazine, and crouched down against the wall with a vigilant back, glancing at the emergency evacuation map on the wall. The buildings of the huge Anfia Hospital, covering more than 3,000 acres, were all in view.
He could still sense Yan Yi’s weak pheromone signal, indicating that he had not left towards the Pacific. He may have flown to a PBB branch, with the nearest base located in Huaining City, which was mostly destroyed by a super earthquake and subsequent tsunamis a year ago. It had been hit by high mortality rate infectious diseases and large-scale species invasions, and was ordered to be sealed off and destroyed. The ruined city was still under reconstruction.
“You watch over the hospital’s gland freezer,” Lu Shangjin said, lightly moving his right arm. Although his wound had healed mostly, he could still feel the toxins spreading in his bones. The helicopter with the painted Peregrine Falcon emblem was approaching the rooftop helipad. Assistant Xiao Ning was wearing headphones in the pilot’s seat, and Lu Shangjin grabbed onto the landing gear and climbed up onto the helicopter. The helicopter immediately changed direction and left Anfia Hospital.
His phone kept ringing incessantly, with messages and calls coming in one after another. Lu Shangjin glanced at it, leaned his head against the inner wall, and his hair was blown up by the strong wind.
He reached into his shirt pocket and pulled out the crumpled note that Yan Yi had written to him, promising that he would still love him when he was twenty-seven. Perhaps Yan Yi no longer liked him as much, but that was not important.
If he could bring Yan Yan and the child back safely, he could follow Yan Yi’s wishes and watch their lives from afar in the future, whether Yan Yi wanted to leave or met another alpha he loved. He could endure and accept everything, no longer forcing Yan Yi to stay by his side, treating it as punishment for the way he had hurt him before.
He let go and tossed the promise Yan Yi wrote into the wind, and kissed the wedding ring on his ring finger hard.

The helicopter flew over the ruins of Huaining City and dropped a crate of weapons and ammunition. On the ground, Lushang Jin, dressed in black tactical gear, sat on the crate and landed slowly with his exceptional vision. He estimated that the entrance to the PBB Huaining branch base was located two kilometers away, beneath the cooling tower.
The base’s password-protected gate slowly opened, and staff responsible for identity verification stopped Lushang Jin. They scrutinized the tall and stern alpha, noting that he bore a striking resemblance to a commander. The staff was momentarily unsure how to proceed.
“Excuse me, sir. If you don’t have identification, please stand here and scan your face and fingers.”
A gunshot rang out, and the staff member collapsed onto a chair with a burnt bullet hole in his forehead.
Lu shang Jin stood in place with only an MP433 in his hand. He turned and fired in each direction, destroying all the monitors and eliminating the gatekeepers.
A wanted poster appeared on the computer screen, displaying Lushang Jin’s photo and surrounded by activated digital PBB special agents’ avatars, who were deployed to intercept and eliminate invaders.
He smashed the display with a single shot, retrieved an identification card from one of the corpses, and slowly walked into the main passage of the base.

After passing through the main channel, one must pass through gait and thermal detection. Lu Shangjin injected himself with a chameleon serum left by Ye Wan and had one hour to disable the detectors and monitors.
As soon as he entered the main channel, the bulletproof doors at both ends suddenly closed.
Lu Shangjin paused and his eyes were covered with a translucent blue membrane unique to the peregrine falcon species as he scanned his surroundings and the ceiling.
The eyes of an alpha peregrine falcon could see footprints moving on the steel protective plate above his head, and the footprints stopped at one point.
The emergency door above the main channel opened, and a blonde-haired, blue-eyed alpha fell in front of Lu Shangjin and slowly stood up. His long, blood-red forked tongue licked his silver lip stud, and his narrow, linear pupils stared at Lu Shangjin with a smile as his fingers gently danced.
He was the Golden Python Alpha, an English PBB special agent with a sequence number of 000017 and a level of M2.
The alpha gentleman bowed to Lu Shangjin, “Your wife is safe and sound inside. After the guiding differentiation is complete, she will be sent back to you unharmed.”
The words “guiding differentiation” were like a sharp knife that cut open Lu Shangjin’s old wounds and poured salt on them. Even if he didn’t say anything, he knew that it was a cruel shadow that could never be appeased in Ye Wan’s heart.
His eyes were so dark that no waves could be seen in them. He slightly pursed his lips and in the next moment, his left hand had already turned into a fist and struck the lower abdomen of the Golden Python. Before the opponent could retaliate, he swept his long leg, which brought a gust of wind, and sent the Golden Python flying seven or eight meters away.
The Golden Python was also infuriated. It wiped a trace of blood from the corner of its mouth, swiftly swam along the wall, and wrapped itself around Lu Shangjin’s body like a hunting giant python, tightly coiling around its prey’s neck with its powerful and firm body, until the prey choked and lost the ability to resist, becoming the trophy it handed over.
With his neck bound, Lu Shangjin flipped over the wall and slammed the Golden Python’s spine on the ground. He then fiercely elbowed the python’s chest, aiming at its weak point, known as the seven-inch strike, which was a common weakness for alpha snakes.
The fighting in the main channel awakened the channel clearing system, and the cross-shaped strangle laser quickly swept over. Lu Shangjin released the Golden Python, hooked his hands on the top of the channel, and pressed his body tightly against the ceiling, narrowly dodging the sniper rifle that the laser scraped across his back, shaving off a piece of the rifle’s buttstock.
While the clearing laser had not yet returned, Lu Shangjin kicked the Golden Python Alpha to the starting point of the laser and quickly climbed up the emergency door on the top, catching the snake off guard and locking it in with hydraulic pressure.
He brushed off the dust on his body and crawled into the laboratory inside the main channel through the air vent.
In the main control room, Lu Lin sat in front of the control console, supporting his chin and watching the channel surveillance images covered in burnt and bloody stains. On the special agent dispatch log displayed on the screen, the photo of the Golden Python Alpha turned gray with the word “DEAD” shown below.
He turned his control chair around and saw Yan Yi sitting on the ground in the transparent ball-shaped cage not far away, with soft cushions and a thermostat thoughtfully placed on the ground next to him.

The baby’s cradle was placed outside the prison, a pink cradle that stood out from the cold and terrifying control laboratory.
Yan Yi also saw the dimmed photograph on the agent dispatch record and said lightly, “You should know your own son.”
“He’s excellent, and I’m pleased, but he should listen to me.” Lu Lin washed his hands, leaned over the cradle, and gently touched Xiao Tu Bao’s face. Every move of Lu Lin’s stirred Yan Yi’s heart. Yan Yi’s palms were sweaty, not knowing what terrifying move Lu Lin would make next.
Fortunately, Lu Lin didn’t do anything to the baby, but asked about his grandson’s name.
“Lu Yan, not bad.” He thought about this name quietly, and the meaning seemed good, but Lu Lin could tell that it combined two surnames, which didn’t satisfy him. He didn’t like mixing the parents’ surnames in a child’s name, and a cloned omega’s name wasn’t worthy of letting Xiao Jin do so.
Little Lu Yan in the cradle suddenly cried without warning, making a loud and piercing sound in the empty laboratory.
The little baby cried until his face turned red, coughing as he cried, and the small rabbit ears, covered with a layer of thin fluff, trembled sadly, as if trying to find his lost father in this place.
Yan Yi supported the glass ball-shaped prison with both hands, eager to hold his child. No father could face such a pitiful baby and allow them to suffer.
Lu Lin picked up the child to soothe him, releasing the calming pheromones of tulips, but the child was not comforted and cried even more loudly.
Yan Yi said he was hungry.
Lu Lin raised an eyebrow and sent the child to the edge of the cage for Yan Yi to feed him.
Yan Yi forced himself to stay calm and only managed to stop himself from reacting by tightly squeezing his hands. The potential for the child’s differentiation had not been tested yet, but at least Lu Lin had hope for the child and wouldn’t do anything drastic.
He refused to feed the baby unless Lu Lin immediately withdrew all the agents blocking the way of Lu Shangjin and released him.
Lu Lin sat by the cage, softly cooing to the crying baby, saying that his precious grandson would get sick if he was hungry for too long, and look, he was crying so pitifully.
Wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, Lu Lin looked like a kind and gentle grandfather, constantly trying to soften Yan Yi’s heart. Which omega could bear to let their newborn baby go hungry?
Yan Yi bit his lip and licked the taste of blood to keep himself alert. He turned around, pretending not to see.
Lu Lin’s kindly expression gradually disappeared, allowing several beta guards outside the door to come in.
Yan Yi was forced into the rest area, his shirt ripped open, and his hands and feet pressed against the bed. A beta held little Lu Yan and placed him on Yan Yi’s chest, forcing him to nurse and fill up on today’s lunch.
Yan Yi turned his head in shame and anger, tightly closing his eyes and thrashing his limbs wildly, but it was all in vain. His thin waist trembled, like an exhibit, and all his privacy and dignity were trampled in the mud.
He was frightened, and his emotions were extremely unstable. Despite his swollen chest, he couldn’t suckle any milk, and little Lu Yan was starving, only knowing to suck forcefully. Yan Yi’s voice became hoarse from struggling and screaming for him to stop.
Perhaps seeing the omega being bullied on the bed was pitiful, a few betas let go of their grip and stood aside, watching Yan Yi feed little Lu Yan on his own.
Yan Yi grabbed little Lu Yan’s swaddling clothes and held him tightly in his arms, ignoring his torn and disheveled shirt. He knelt on the bed and kissed little Lu Yan’s face repeatedly, choking with tears, reassuring him that alpha daddy would come to rescue him.
“I’m sorry, baby… Daddy will be okay if he doesn’t ruin his gland. It’s my fault, daddy’s fault…” Yan Yi trembled uncontrollably, hugging little Lu Yan’s hand, afraid and curled up in the corner of the bed, constantly stroking the child’s back and releasing soothing pheromones.
The more he released soothing pheromones, the more anxious he became, and little Lu Yan could feel his anxiety, crying louder, tears streaming down his eyelashes, crying until he choked and coughed, his small face turning red.
“Don’t cry, baby…” Yan Yi held him despairingly, letting him suck on himself. Even if it hurt and he couldn’t produce anything, he had no other choice.
The numb and faint eyes of Ma Mu looked towards the glass window on the door. He saw the little Alpha who brought him food with a small backpack, and also saw him carrying a sniper rifle and rushing through the rain of bullets. Suddenly, he couldn’t remember where he was, but he felt that the person he wanted to see was outside that door.
He flipped over and landed on the ground. The muscle memory from years of high-intensity training was still there, and his instinct as a killing machine had not been eroded even without the support of a high-level gland as energy.
The beta guard who was watching him did not expect that a weak omega would resist. His action was slow for a moment, and in an instant, Yan Yi locked his neck tightly from behind, and the two betas who rushed up were kicked in the chin with the help of his legs.
At the same time, the beta who was locked by Yan Yi had his neck twisted by him.
Yan Yi picked up the baby on the bed and kicked open the door of the rest room to rush out.
The black muzzle was pressed against his forehead.
Lu Lin held the gun and gently tapped his forehead. She smiled gently and said, “I underestimated you. None of the wives of our Lu family are easy to deal with.”
Yan Yi held the child in his arms, gritted his teeth, and looked straight into the Alpha’s eyes. His hoarse voice was almost bloody as he spoke.
“Irrespective of how many Omegas you kill, are you happy? What immoral things did Uncle Wan do to deserve being tortured to death by you? ”
Yan Yi stepped forward with the barrel of Lu Lin’s gun against him, and the little ball of flesh in his arms seemed to emit an energy that made the person holding him brave.
“We are not anyone’s tools, nor are we willing to be your slaves. One day, this world will no longer belong solely to Alphas, and all you livestock that are being raised will die under this. ”
“You rely on your high level of dependence to bully and oppress Omegas. If it weren’t for Uncle Wan’s mark, he wouldn’t have been dragged down by you like this. Uncle Wan hates you, Jin Ge hates you, and I hate you too. How can someone live as failed as you?”
With a loud bang, the bullet grazed Yan Yi’s clavicle, shattering the window of the lounge. A trail of blood flowed down along the mark, causing Little Lu Yan to cry uncontrollably once again until his throat was hoarse.
Lu Lin pressed the hot barrel of the gun against Yan Yi’s neck, backing the Omega up against the wall. This audacious little rabbit would have been destroyed and reproduced for just enticing his son, let alone meddling in his and Ye Wan’s relationship, if it weren’t for his high level of energy and the high-level offspring he had with Little Jin.
Sweat seeped out of the hand that gripped the gun, and the hot barrel almost pierced Yan Yi’s neck, leaving a red mark on his skin. Yan Yi didn’t feel any pain but instinctively held onto the child, becoming even more intimidating.
Lu Lin went crazy and locked Yan Yi in a spherical glass cage, but Yan Yi released all of his glandular energy and pheromones at the last moment. The sweet fragrance of milk candy flowed out of the control room’s exhaust pipe and was precisely captured by Lu Shang.
He looked up and coldly gazed through the surveillance camera in the corner, his eyes full of anger almost piercing through the glass.
After scrutinizing for about ten seconds, he stepped on a severed hand on the ground and silently walked towards the deep passage. The wrist of the severed hand was branded with PBB000014.
Blood stains were faintly visible on his right shoulder, and occasional drops of blood trickled down his fingertips. A trail of blood splatters followed behind him, and dozens of corpses lay upside down along the passage.
Two more photos on the dispatch record on the console turned gray and showed “DEAD” below. At the same time, the security system issued a warning:
“WARNING! THE INVADER IS INVINCIBLE!”
