Lovely Allergen - Chap 21
For two weeks in a row, Le Zhishi’s vehicle was Song Yu’s backseat. His mood was stable. He felt that Song Yu had a motive for bringing him to and from school and asking him to study on the fifth floor, but he was careless and didn’t think too much about it.
The old man at the school gate had repaired the bicycle, but he had been standing there without moving. The excuses and reasons he had prepared in advance were enough to fill up an excel sheet. He was just waiting for Song Yu to chase him away one day, but it had never been put to use.
Winter seemed to have rushed over with the end-of-semester competition, afraid that one of them would surpass the other. Thus, the two came together without warning, catching Le Zhishi off guard.
Exams were coming up, and the school required extra classes on the Saturday morning before the third month break. Third year students had to take extra classes for an extra day. Peiya, who claimed not to take extra classes, was not spared either.
Le Zhishi wanted to stay in school until the afternoon and go home with Song Yu, but the school banned all students from entering during the flu season. Other than the classrooms during classes, all the classrooms were disinfected and not allowed to enter. Le Zhishi had no choice but to go home by himself.
He stood in the corridor and wrote a message to Song Yu to report the situation.
A second after sending the message, he received a reply with a single word.
It had been a long time since he went home with Jiang Yufan. Le Zhishi asked him to go to Aunt Rong’s restaurant for dinner on a whim. Jiang Yufan had heard that his family’s restaurant was extremely difficult to book, so he was more than happy to go. He wanted to call his parents to say hello, but he didn’t have his phone.
Le Zhishi took out his own phone. “Use mine. Luckily, I brought mine today.”
Song Yu walked out of the math teacher’s office and glanced at the corridor on the third floor. Most of the junior high school students had left after school. There were still a few students scattered around, and their chatter was particularly loud in the empty environment.
He glanced at the activity room as he passed by. The staff was disinfecting the food.
Qin Yan ran up the stairs with a takeout box in his hand. He saw him. “Quick, the fried chicken is here. Why is Old Zhang looking for you? ”
“Nothing much. It’s about the competition.”
“That young man just now couldn’t find the connecting point no matter how hard he tried. I waited for so long that I almost froze to death.” Although Peiya was not strict with the school, takeout was not allowed to enter the school. They could only pick up takeout through the fence.
Qin Yan rubbed his hands and took out a box of fried chicken, “I was watching over there and saw the whole process of a couple quarreling. They quarreled so fiercely. Luckily I’m single …” He took another sip of coke, “I also saw a few underworld youths coming together. They took off their school uniforms and handed out cigarettes. It was like a porn movie.”
The windows were closed, and the wind outside sounded like fingernails scratching on a blackboard. Song Yu frowned and put down the chopsticks he had picked up. “Junior high school?”
“How did you know?” Qin Yan stuffed a big mouthful of fried chicken into his mouth. His words were unclear as he gestured and described, “A tall and skinny guy with a crew cut. There was also a fat guy and a skinny guy with dyed brown hair. The rest were all outsiders. I don’t know if they were from another school or underworld. They didn’t look like good people. They didn’t even try to hide. They just smoked near the parking lot. Do you think junior high school students are all so … ”
Before he could finish, Song Yu got up and left.
“Hey, where are you going? You’re not eating? ”
“I have something to do.”
He dialed Le Zhishi’s number twice, but it was still busy. When he ran to the place where the bicycle was parked, Song Yu only glanced at it and knew that Le Zhishi’s bicycle was gone. The bicycle was there every day, so it was particularly obvious when it disappeared. He got on his bike and headed home, riding faster than ever before.
At a fork in the road, Song Yu stopped at a red light. The wireless headset was still busy. He replayed the call.
[Sorry, the number you have dialed is unavailable.]
The north wind at the intersection was irritating. The light in the other direction turned green, and the cyclist beside him went through it. Song Yu looked at the road. It was a road he usually didn’t take.
It was a six-stop bus ride home. Le Zhishi liked to take shortcuts. He could save a lot of time by going through an alley of a residential building that was about to be demolished. Song Yu knew all this, even if he didn’t go back with him often.
The old alley hadn’t been so lively in a long time.
The big green trash can at the entrance of the alley was kicked to the ground. Wang Jie was chewing gum, looking like a gangster. The person next to him threw his cigarette butt on the ground and crushed it with his foot. Seeing the traces of cigarette ash on the ground, Le Zhishi thought of many villains in comics who liked to leave traces behind.
“So what if you have more people?” Jiang Yufan stood in front of Le Zhishi. “So sneaky. If you have the guts, fight one-on-one in school!”
He spat out the gum and it stuck to the ground in front of Le Zhishi.
“One-on-one? Do you think you’re worthy? ” Wang Jie had just finished speaking when the tall man behind him pressed on his shoulder and looked at Le Zhishi. “You’re the one looking for trouble in school for my brothers, right? You have a pretty face. Do you like to be in the limelight?”
Le Zhishi didn’t answer. He looked too calm. In fact, his mind was filled with thoughts of avoiding them this time and not letting them hit his face. He also had to beat Wang Jie up this time. After the last fight, he regretted watching fighting videos the whole night. The more he watched, the more dissatisfied he was with his performance.
His absent-mindedness was a great insult to the big brother. “I’m talking to you!” He stepped forward and pushed Le Zhishi hard in the chest.
Jiang Yufan panicked. “What are you doing?! Don’t hit him! ”
Le Zhishi took off his bag and handed it to Jiang Yufan. He gave him a look and then turned to the tall man. “This has nothing to do with him. Let him go.”
“This little guy is quite loyal.”
“I’m not leaving.” Jiang Yufan also wanted to take off his bag and throw it on the ground, but he was stopped by Le Zhishi. “Carry it. Don’t dirty it.”
Otherwise, how would he explain it to Song Yu?
Wang Jie looked at him. He seemed to want to do it himself, but he was blocked by the guy in black. He couldn’t do it. He shouted, “Le Zhishi, come here. I’ll settle it with you.”
“How? I still have to go home for dinner.” Le Zhishi ignored him and glanced at the people in front of him. A bird flew over his head and a shadow flashed across his eyes. “Are you guys coming together?”
But his words were drowned out by the sound of brakes and bicycles falling to the ground. No one heard this standard pre-battle declaration. However, Le Zhishi was not discouraged because the person who came was Song Yu.
The moment he turned around, the wind messed up his hair, but it was very beautiful. Even the panic on his face was moving. He threw away his bicycle and took off his school uniform jacket and threw it in the corner. He was a clean freak, but at this moment, he did not care if it was dirty or how he would clean it up.
Song Yu strode towards him against the light. This scene was Le Zhishi’s dream of a hero coming out.
He was grabbed by the arm and pulled behind him, just like when he was young.
“Who the f * ck is this?” The tall man glanced at Wang Jie. He seemed to be dissatisfied with the expansion of the battlefield. Wang Jie was also irritated, as if this was not what he wanted.
“I’m his brother.” Song Yu took off the watch on his wrist and handed it to Le Zhishi. “Stand back.”
Song Yu’s voice was low and gentle. Le Zhishi stood in the wind and stared at the watch in his hand. It was almost the same as when he bought it. It was new and clean, and did not look like it had been used for four years. The second hand ticked, increasing his heart rate.
The other party was not as tall as him, but he was not afraid at all. He looked at him provocatively. “What? You want to take a beating for him? ”
Song Yu looked up, the veins at the end of his eyebrows twitching.
“I’ll beat someone for him.”
The last time Song Yu stood in front of Le Zhishi and fought, it was when they were still in elementary school.
That was when Le Zhishi was bullied the most. At that time, because he was greedy, he took a few bites of the biscuits given out by the school. His face was red and swollen, and when the male classmates who had ostracized him saw it, they laughed at him for becoming ugly and even surrounded him to stuff biscuits into his mouth. It had been too long, and Le Zhishi had forgotten how he asked for help. He only remembered how Song Yu came and stood in front of him, like a hero in a comic.
However, the ending was not very cool. One of them was injured in the fight, and the other was disfigured due to allergies. They were punished by Lin Rong to sit in front of Yang and Qi Zhe’s restaurant as mascots.
Compared to Le Zhishi, who had been through a lot, Jiang Yufan was very inexperienced.
“No, that’s not it. Is your brother really that awesome …” He watched as Song Yu single-handedly took down the burly man, and the rest of his lackeys hesitated to even approach.
Le Zhishi held his watch. “He learned Taekwondo.” He then added, “So did I.”
Jiang Yufan’s eyes widened as he stared at the calm Le Zhishi.
No wonder it was one against four in the bathroom.
The so-called “big brother” Wang Jie found was a paper tiger. This was obvious when Song Yu arrived at the alley. He was afraid that the man had hidden knives, so he observed him. There were no pockets in his clothes, and there were no calluses on his hands. Instead of saying that he was strong, it was more accurate to say that he was obese with too much body fat.
To catch bandits, first catch the ringleader. Only idiots would fight without any rules. Song Yu didn’t want to spend too much time fighting. He kicked him in the chest a few times, but he couldn’t be too ruthless. Otherwise, if he wanted to go to the police station, he could only use his skills to take down the boss.
“Brother Zhang!”
Other than Wang Jie, the rest of the men surrounded him. One of the men with dyed red hair jumped up and hugged Song Yu’s neck, trying to restrain him so that the others could take action.
Song Yu frowned. He was a little irritated. He grabbed the man’s arm and threw him over his shoulder, kicking up a cloud of dust.
After a series of violent attacks, no one dared to approach. Brother Zhang, who was lying on the ground, tried to get up, but Song Yu kicked him down a few times. In the end, when Song Yu raised his leg, he reflexively shrank back.
“Again?” Song Yu asked.
“I’m so f * cking unlucky to have believed you.” The man cursed, but he retreated.
Song Yu’s arm was hanging by his side. He turned his wrist, but his face was still expressionless. “Don’t hit him in the future. If I find out, it won’t be as simple as today.”
Le Zhishi watched Brother Zhang shake his fat body and stand up. Like many villains in comics who were not very powerful, he said things like “I’ll be back” and ran away with his men, his face covered in dirt and dirt.
Wang Jie was obviously the angriest. Everything didn’t go as he expected. He looked at Song Yu with resentment, his fists clenched.
“Don’t think about it.” Song Yu didn’t even look at him. He picked up the jacket on the ground.
“I’m not interested in fighting with children.”
