Lovely Allergen - Chap 24
Le Zhishi only had one day of monthly leave, so it was his turn to stay in his room. Song Jin had just returned from a business trip and was baking with Lin Rong. The house was filled with the aroma of butter. Song Yu went downstairs to make coffee. Song Yu was asked about his recent results and the TOEFL test by his father.
“Are you confident?”
Song Yu replied that he was okay and was about to go upstairs. Lin Rong stopped him. “Yu, didn’t you say yesterday that you wanted a carpet? I picked a wool one from your aunt’s shop. It’ll be here soon. We’ll go upstairs and lay it out for you. ”
“Oh.” Song Yu’s throat felt uncomfortable. He coughed and said, “Anytime is fine.”
Lin Rong handed him a plate of freshly baked gluten-free chocolate cookies. “Bring this to your brother. Wait, I’ll get him a cup of warm milk.”
Song Jin suggested, “Yogurt. It’s good for the stomach.”
Song Yu carried the food upstairs and passed by Le Zhishi’s room. He stood outside the door and called his name. He heard Le Zhishi respond and ask him what he wanted.
Song Yu frowned. He felt that something was strange. “Mom asked me to bring you some cookies.”
“Oh! Then … then help me put it at the door. I’ll go get it later. ”
Le Zhishi shouted at the door. A few seconds later, he heard Song Yu say, “Okay.” He waited for a while before opening the door a crack. After confirming that Song Yu was not at the door, he boldly opened the door and picked up the tray on the floor.
“What the hell are you doing in there?”
Le Zhishi was caught red-handed. He stuck his head out and saw Song Yu standing a few steps away in the corridor, looking at him. Le Zhishi’s mind was filled with the image of a cat and a mouse. At that moment, he was Jerry, who had crawled out of a hole and was about to steal Cheese.
Song Yu didn’t say much. He walked directly to Le Zhishi’s room, but Le Zhishi was one step faster than him. He ducked into the room and slammed the door shut.
Song Yu, who was rejected outside the door, experienced a complicated state of mind that he had never experienced in the past eleven years of his life.
He even stood at the door for a while in a daze.
On Monday morning, the two brothers came downstairs after washing up. They saw Lin Rong changing her shoes at the entrance and said anxiously.
“Mom’s good friend suddenly contracted acute appendicitis. I have to go to the hospital to take care of her. I didn’t have time to make breakfast today. The money is on the table. You two go out and eat.”
Le Zhishi saw that her scarf was still on the shelf. He rubbed his eyes and walked over to take the scarf for her. “Drive slowly.”
“Be careful when you eat outside. Don’t be greedy.” Lin Rong hugged him and said goodbye to Song Yu. She opened the door and left.
The cold outside the door drilled into Le Zhishi’s ankles. He shivered and stamped his feet on the spot. He ran upstairs to change into a pair of stockings and rushed out with Song Yu.
Le Zhishi thought about how Song Yu’s wrist was not feeling well and insisted on driving him to school. Of course, he was rejected. They were in a deadlock. The cold wind outside the door blew at them. In the end, the two of them chose to take the car.
The car was very fast. They still had time to reach the school gate. Le Zhishi carried his backpack and walked almost next to Song Yu. Before, he couldn’t go to school with his brother. Now that he could walk side by side openly, he was in a very good mood.
But when they arrived at the breakfast shop, he couldn’t walk anymore.
“I’m so hungry.” Le Zhishi really stood still.
Song Yu didn’t say anything. He chose the cleanest and most spacious shop and went in. He ordered soup dumplings, three delicacies, and a bowl of beef soup noodles.
“Wide and fine powder?” The boss asked.
Le Zhishi looked behind the boss. “Do you have hollow powder?”
“Yes.” The boss put the powder into a colander. “I’ll put more for you.”
“Thank you, boss!” Le Zhishi sat across from Song Yu and looked at the walls of the shop. The walls were full of menus. After a while, he said, “Song Yu gege, I want to drink red bean paste.”
Song Yu looked up at him. He seemed to think that he was very troublesome, but he didn’t say anything. He got up to ask the boss. Unexpectedly, the boss said, “We only have black soy milk. If you want to drink it, there seems to be some next door. ”
Hearing this, Song Yu went directly next door.
Things went according to Le Zhishi’s plan. He craned his neck to look outside. After confirming that his brother had indeed left, he quickly took out a bag from his school bag and ran to the opposite side. He quickly opened Song Yu’s bag and stuffed it in.
After dealing with the crime scene, he pretended that nothing had happened and returned to his seat. He obediently took out two pairs of disposable chopsticks. After a while, Song Yu came back with the red bean paste.
The red bean paste was very warm. Le Zhishi took out one of the two straws that Song Yu had taken along the way. He broke the plastic seal and took a big sip. It was sweet and soft.
The lady boss served the soup dumplings. She gave each of them a small plate filled with vinegar soaked with shredded ginger. Le Zhishi stood up and put Song Yu’s chopsticks on his small plate.
The soup dumplings were filled with shrimp and fresh meat. There were a total of eight dumplings. Pine needles separated the dumplings from the bamboo tray. The skin was very thin. He could almost see the shrimp inside. He picked up a soup dumpling. The skin wrapped in juice shook like a balloon when he was young. It fell into his vinegar plate.
The two of them didn’t discuss. Le Zhishi directly picked up the other straw on the table. He opened it and pointed the sharp end at the soup dumpling. The moment he poked it, he took a sip. “Mm!”
“Aren’t you afraid of being scalded to death?” Song Yu said, but his expression was used to it.
“This soup is so fresh.” After he finished drinking, he used his chopsticks to tear off the skin. He dipped the shrimp and meat inside in vinegar and ate them. In the end, a large piece of skin was left.
“Your noodles and tofu skin.” The lady boss came over with two bowls. When she saw Le Zhishi put the soup dumpling skin into Song Yu’s bowl, she was a little puzzled. “What’s wrong? Is the skin not good?”
“No, no.” Le Zhishi moved the noodles in front of him. “I can’t eat it.”
The lady boss nodded. She told them to add their own coriander and left.
Song Yu naturally ate the soup dumpling skin. He also ate a piece of tofu skin while it was hot. San Xian tofu skin was the most filling breakfast.
Cut into pieces of pork, slices of bamboo shoots, and shiitake mushrooms were mixed into the seasoned glutinous rice. Add in the marinade. The thin skin made of mung beans and rice was the tofu skin. It was placed at the bottom of the pan. Add in the egg and fry it until it was cooked. After flipping, put in the glutinous rice, pressed it evenly, and cut it into cubes while frying. Remove it while it was hot. The glutinous rice was salty and soft, and the tofu skin was golden and crispy.
The best thing was that there were no allergens Le Zhishi was allergic to, and he liked it very much.
All of their breakfast was shared. Le Zhishi ate a piece of tofu skin and began to attack the rice noodles. He picked up a piece of braised beef and gave it to Song Yu. “I wanted to eat pasta before. Eat it like this.” Le Zhishi put his chopsticks into a strand of rice noodles and put it into his mouth. “Does it taste like China’s pasta?”
Song Yu only felt that he was like a morning bird, chirping. But he was not like this usually. Today, he was unusually excited, as if he had done something big.
“Don’t talk so much. Eat quickly.”
Le Zhishi was more obedient. He ate four soup dumplings without skin, half a bowl of rice noodles, and a piece of tofu skin. Song Yu finished the rest. Lin Rong had taught them to respect food since they were young, so they never left anything behind when they went out to eat.
After breakfast, there were many people coming and going at the door. Song Yu carried his bag and left the breakfast shop. Le Zhishi trotted behind him.
The lady boss stared at their soup dumpling steamer in a daze. She was patted by the boss. “Are you still not awake early in the morning?”
“No.” She frowned. She looked as if she could not figure it out. “Those two handsome boys just now were really strange. One only ate the filling, and the other only ate the skin.”
The boss thought it was something else. “Aiya, children these days are so unique.”
The two separated on the third floor. Song Yu went upstairs by himself. He met his classmates and was teased.
“I saw you two together from afar. You two are so close to each other.”
Song Yu did not say anything, nor did he refute.
Not long after, the morning self-study session began. The English teacher came into the classroom with a book. Song Yu opened his bag and was about to take out his English notes when he suddenly found that there was an extra box inside. He felt that it was strange and took it out.
His deskmate was a cowardly but gossipy bespectacled boy. He glanced at the box. Afraid that Song Yu would discover it, he pretended to memorize the words loudly.
The box was white and looked like it was handmade. It was full of drawings. The drawings were mainly of two little people. One had brown curly hair, and the other had black hair. The black-haired one had an injured wrist, but the brown-haired one was crying. There was a big red arrow above their heads, pointing to the opening of the box.
His deskmate glanced at it from the corner of his eye. He saw Song Yu’s disdainful expression and thought that he was going to throw it aside. After all, he often received all kinds of gifts. Even if it was a beautifully wrapped gift, he would not take a second look at it.
But what he didn’t expect was that Song Yu actually opened it. He actually opened such a small handmade box to take a look?
His deskmate was surprised. So Song Yu liked this kind of thing.
He began to be curious about what was in the box.
Song Yu opened the packaging and took out a stack of …
Plasters? His deskmate was so shocked that his glasses slipped. He immediately adjusted them and read as he recited. Song Yu flipped through them one by one. It turned out that there were drawings on the plasters, and each drawing was different. There were even storyboards. It was like a comic book, and the main characters were Little Curly Hair and the black-haired boy.
In the deafening morning self-study classroom, his deskmate accidentally heard Song Yu’s laughter. It sounded like he was amused, but it also sounded like he was helpless. In short, it was very unlike him, but it was also very strange.
However, Song Yu did not look at it for long. He tidied up the plasters and placed them back in the box in the drawer.
This unsolved mystery of the morning self-study room lingered in his deskmate’s heart for a long time.
Song Yu had been going over the papers for the two math classes in the morning. He did not get anything wrong, so he saved time and buried himself in the new questions. His wrist still hurt. He stopped writing and stared at his wrist for a long time. Finally, he took out the box from the drawer.
He recalled what he had said the other day. It was too ugly, so he did not want to stick it.
Ever since he was young, Le Zhishi’s surprises had always been sneaky.
Song Yu picked out a piece of pain-relief plaster that depicted two little people close to each other. Only then did he realize that this drawing was very familiar. It seemed to be the scene when he had won first place in the high jump in his fourth grade. Le Zhishi had happily pounced into his arms, but his little run-up had been too forceful and had pushed him down onto the sports field.
Later, during the award ceremony, the top three winners stood on the small podium. Song Yu had just stood on the highest level when Le Zhishi, who had just started primary school, had run out of nowhere. He had darted behind Song Yu like a wisp of smoke and hugged his leg, disrupting the entire ceremony.
Of course, in the end, he had still been forcefully carried away by the primary school teacher.
Walking out of his memories, Song Yu tore off the plastic wrap on his back and carefully stuck the pain-relief plaster on his wrist. After smoothing it out, he unnaturally tugged at the sleeves of his sweater and school jacket in an attempt to block it. Then, he pretended as if nothing had happened and buried his head in the questions.
After class, the large group of students majestically went downstairs to gather for exercises. Qin Yan’s movements were sluggish. His eyes looked around and accidentally caught a glimpse of Song Yu’s right wrist.
What was that on his hand? Was it a tattoo?
As soon as they were dismissed, he immediately ran in front of Song Yu and pulled his sleeve without saying a word. “What did you do on your wrist? Fire Hitachi, you’re really a gangster. You actually dared to go behind my back … “The moment he grabbed his wrist, Qin Yan’s expression suddenly changed to that of an old man on the subway looking at his phone.” … plaster? ”
Song Yu’s expression changed. He pushed him away and pulled down his sleeve. “What nonsense are you talking about?”
“No, what is this?” Qin Yan laughed as if he had discovered a new world. “Where did you get such a cute plaster? Did a girl give it to you? This is the plaster that a macho man needs! Quick, quick, quick. I hurt my shoulder playing basketball two days ago. Give me a piece of it, too. ”
Song Yu: “… …”
“Why are you so stingy? I’ll buy it.” Qin Yan began to tug at his school uniform. “Damn, it’s so cold. Hurry up! Just one piece! ”
“In your dreams.”
