Lovely Allergen - Chap 29

This sentence came too suddenly.
Le Zhishi didn’t know what was wrong with him. The prawn that he had just picked up with his chopsticks fell back into his bowl.
Lin Rong didn’t quite understand. “What do you mean?”
“I’m not going abroad.” Song Yu was very calm. “I’m going to take the college entrance exam, and I’ve already thought about what I’m going to do in the future.”
Le Zhishi ended the dinner in confusion.
In comparison, his parents’ attitudes seemed more casual. In Song Jin’s heart, hearing that Song Yu had his own plans for the future was more satisfying than hearing that he had chosen one of the options he had given him. Lin Rong had never placed the focus of education on grades and the future. She understood that Song Yu was a mature child, and the best love she could give him was respect.
Only Le Zhishi didn’t understand, so he sat on the sofa in a daze and stroked Ju Zi’s fur. Ju Zi was exceptionally obedient today and didn’t run away from his arms.
Of course, this incomprehension was accompanied by a slightly delayed happiness, because this meant that the distance between them had shrunk from the other side of the ocean to a range that he could accept.
Le Zhishi only came back to his senses when Song Yu stood in front of him and raised his head.
“Come out with me.” Song Yu threw a jacket over and walked to the entrance alone.
Le Zhishi was wearing the jacket that Song Yu gave him. The delayed effects of the medicine seemed to have finally taken effect, and he didn’t feel so uncomfortable. He rode his bike through the dark night. The wind gently blew against his body and wrapped around him. It was like swimming in warm water, rippling under the street lights.
He rode past a large park in the middle of the lake. Many people were taking a stroll in the night. Song Yu parked his bike in front of a brightly lit convenience store and went in to buy something. Le Zhishi obediently waited for him outside, just like when he was young.
When he was young, Le Zhishi was very gluttonous. Every time he entered a convenience store, he would not be able to walk. He wanted to buy everything he saw, but most of the things in the convenience store were things that he could not eat. If they did not let him buy, he would cry uncontrollably, making it difficult for everyone.
Later, Song Yu came up with an idea. He ordered Le Zhishi to stand outside the French windows of the convenience store and not move. After entering the store, Song Yu would buy what he needed as fast as he could, and he would even turn around to check. If Le Zhishi was obedient enough, he would reward him with an ice cream.
It was the same this time. However, because it had been a long time since he was a child, Le Zhishi was no longer the child who needed to be supervised. This kind of unwritten rule had not been implemented for a long time, so when he took the ice cream cone from Song Yu, he still felt a little unfamiliar.
The ice cream cone had the air of a freezer, and Song Yu’s fingertips were also cold.
“Congratulations.” Song Yu led him to a bench and sat down. “The reward for your improvement in the mid-term exam.”
Although there was not much congratulatory tone in his words, and the prize was only an ice cream cone, Le Zhishi’s happiness was obvious. He lowered his head and tore open the packaging. He found that he had not eaten this flavor before.
It was white peach oolong flavor. That was what the packaging said.
“You can only eat one bite.” Song Yu’s tone became a little ruthless. “You can’t eat too much when you have a cold.”
Le Zhishi did not take his words to heart. He found that this ice cream cone was different from other ice cream cones. His first reaction after tearing open the ice cream cone was a little disappointed because there was no fancy chocolate or nut crumbs on the top. Instead, there was a layer of white, translucent jelly. Le Zhishi took a bite, and his teeth were a little cold.
It was a layer of peach-flavored jelly.
He belatedly remembered Song Yu’s words. “I can only eat one bite?” He looked at Song Yu and frowned. “But the top layer isn’t very good. I didn’t even eat the ice cream, so it’s like I didn’t eat it at all. And no one will aggravate their cold because of ice cream. ”
Only when it came to food would Le Zhishi’s thoughts be particularly clear and he would argue with reason.
In the end, Song Yu compromised. He leaned against the bench and looked at the lake not far away.
There was a faint layer of mist on the lake, and a couple kissing under the street lamp. He looked at Le Zhishi again and found that he was eating the ice cream very seriously. He took a bite and looked at the contents with his eyes.
After eating the layer of jelly, Le Zhishi felt that it was very ordinary. He tentatively took a bite of the light pink ice cream.
It was surprisingly delicious.
He turned to look at Song Yu, and his eyes lit up. “It’s milk tea flavored.”
“What?” Song Yu turned to look at him, and his expression was a little confused.
“This ice cream is milk tea flavored. It’s like oolong macchiato.” Le Zhishi’s tone was much higher. “Do you want to try it?” He held up the ice cream and handed it over. He didn’t stuff whatever he wanted into his mouth like when he was young.
But after handing it over, Le Zhishi remembered that Song Yu didn’t like desserts, so he withdrew his desire to share.
The moment he withdrew his hand, Song Yu grabbed his wrist and held it over. He took a bite of the ice cream from his hand and took a sip.
By the lake, a mischievous child threw a stone, and the couple under the street lamp pulled apart. The moon in the middle of the lake spread out in surprise and turned into thousands of shining fragments.
Le Zhishi withdrew his hand, and his wrist turned red.
Song Yu was silent for a few seconds, and then he commented, “It’s not bad.”
The two of them sat quietly. Le Zhishi ate the end of the chocolate cone and leaned back in the chair in satisfaction. “I feel like I’m half recovered.”
Song Yu didn’t laugh at his childishness. He took out a piece of paper from his pocket and handed it over. Le Zhishi was a little confused. He took the crumpled piece of paper and carefully identified it under the street lamp. He realized that it was the study plan he had written before.
“Why is it in your hands?” Le Zhishi was so excited that he almost stuttered. He snatched the paper and wanted to crumple it into a ball again. He even wanted to swallow it and destroy it like in the TV series.
“I memorized it.” Song Yu directly broke his fantasy. “Last time you took my book, I went to your room to get it. You weren’t there, and the table was messy. I looked around and accidentally found this ball of paper.”
“Accidentally?” Le Zhishi raised a very direct question about his wording.
“Yes.” Song Yu’s expression didn’t change. He even gave him a suggestion. “Also, if you don’t want your secret to be discovered, you should destroy it in time.”
He successfully convinced Le Zhishi.
Indeed, he should have torn this abandoned plan to shreds back then.
“Why did you give it up?” “Why didn’t you go abroad?”
The two of them spoke at the same time and snatched it together.
Song Yu didn’t say anything. The two of them waited for a moment. Le Zhishi spoke first. “I originally …”
He thought for a moment and said directly, “You wanted to go abroad. I didn’t want to be separated from you, so I wanted to go too.”
Hearing this, Song Yu’s hand on the bench gripped the edge of the chair. A bird flew by the lake, its wings sweeping across the water, leaving a trail.
Le Zhishi lowered his eyes and continued, “But I didn’t have money. The pocket money I usually saved wasn’t even enough to pay for the English exam, so I wrote a plan to save money for my studies and part-time jobs.”
“But later I realized that I might not be able to save so much money, and I didn’t want to spend Uncle and Auntie’s money. Also … “He thought about what happened at the hospital that day. He paused and changed his excuse.” Aunt Rong might not want me to go out too. She must be very sad to be alone at home like this. ”
The time on the plan started from the day Song Yu and his father chatted at night. According to the schedule, a small tick was put on every day of the plan. The last tick stopped at the day of the hospital.
Song Yu witnessed him hiding in the corner of the kitchen counter, silently eating cinnamon rolls that night.
“So you gave up on going abroad and studied hard to get into high school?”
Le Zhishi noticed that Song Yu’s tone was a little strange. It sounded like a rhetorical question, but it was more awkward than a normal rhetorical question. It seemed like he was a little angry.
“Are you unhappy?” Le Zhishi asked.
His big, innocent eyes stared at Song Yu. Song Yu pursed his lips. “Why would I be unhappy?”
Le Zhishi said, “Oh.” He felt that his intuition might have been wrong. However, he didn’t want to answer Song Yu’s question directly for the time being. He didn’t want to say that he was afraid of being separated from Song Yu, so he practiced in advance. That sounded a little stupid.
So he nodded. “I’m going to study hard anyway. I’m already third in class now. ”
Song Yu didn’t continue asking.
Le Zhishi repeated his previous question. “Brother Song Yu, why didn’t you go abroad?” He thought about the abandoned plan that was picked up and raised the ball of paper. “It can’t be related to this, right?”
He had just said that he didn’t want to be separated. It felt like a kidnapping, so he said, “I did say that I wanted to study abroad with you, but I can’t go. I won’t stop you.”
These words sounded a little too confident, but Le Zhishi was such a child. He had been cared for and doted on since he was young, so he grew up to be a child who could express his emotions directly.
“It’s not entirely because you gave up on studying abroad,” Song Yu answered, avoiding the main point.
Le Zhishi wasn’t too disappointed. If Song Yu had said that it was because of him, he would have thought that he was possessed by a ghost.
“Actually, I didn’t want to study abroad. It was just an option that was placed in front of me.” Song Yu looked at the lake. “Previously, I hadn’t completely thought about what I wanted to do in the future. I thought about it for a long time before I made a decision.”
He took out a neatly folded piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to Le Zhishi.
“What’s this?”
Song Yu glanced at him. “Do you remember the last time I told you about the gift your father gave me? You said that he didn’t give it to you. ”
“Is this a hand-drawn map?” Le Zhishi’s eyes lit up.
Song Yu’s tone became a little helpless. “I drew this. The first time we traveled when we were young, we went to Jiuzhaigou. This is a topographic map of that place. ”
Le Zhishi brought the map closer. “It’s amazing. I still remember the photos we took together. It looked really good there. ”
Song Yu nodded and continued, “I’ll stay for the college entrance exam and study the major I want to study.” He looked up at the sky and was surprised to see a few particularly bright stars.
Le Zhishi liked this feeling very much. He felt especially satisfied that Song Yu was willing to tell him what he didn’t say at the dining table.
“Big Brother Song Yu, can you give this map to me?”
Song Yu looked at the lake. “What’s there to ask for? It’s not like your father drew it.”
He was just joking. He didn’t expect Le Zhishi to grab his arm and be very direct and sincere. “I just want it that you drew.”
Actually, Le Zhishi was nervous. He felt that it was very likely that Song Yu wouldn’t give it to him. After all, this was the first topographic map he drew, and it was also the place where he traveled for the first time. It was very memorable.
But what he didn’t expect was that Song Yu looked at him and casually said, “Okay.”
“Really?” Le Zhishi couldn’t control his excitement. He sat closer until they were almost touching. “Are there any conditions?”
Why would someone be in such a hurry to ask for conditions?
“You reminded me.” Song Yu’s lips curled into a slight smile. “You can exchange your drawing with me.”
What kind of good thing was this? Le Zhishi agreed without hesitation. “Sure, you can choose whatever you want! I … ”
Wait a minute.
Seeing that he suddenly paused, Song Yu deliberately asked him what was wrong.
Le Zhishi blinked. “Which one are you talking about?” He had seen the plan, so the drawing on the table was …
Song Yu became more and more calm. “It’s probably the one you’re thinking about.”
No way. Le Zhishi suddenly stood up. Song Yu thought that he was going to jump into the lake.
The light from the convenience store shone on him, and his ears were red.
He had secretly seen Song Yu feeding the stray cats and drawing a drawing. Didn’t he look like a pervert in a TV series?
Song Yu wanted to tease him again, so he looked up and asked, “You can’t bear to part with it?”
“No.” Le Zhishi explained, “I saw it by accident.” Then he drew it by accident. This reason was very funny, and it didn’t answer the question, so he didn’t say it. He didn’t know why he was so hot-headed and said without thinking, “It’s not the first time I’ve drawn. I’ve drawn a lot of little people before, but you didn’t want them.”
“When did I not want them?” Song Yu looked at him. “You, on the other hand, are sneaky.”
Le Zhishi retorted, “I saw it openly.” He added, “Not only did I see it, but I also wanted to tell Tangerine that you have other cats outside. There’s a big group of them.”
Song Yu was stunned for a moment, and then he laughed. It was a laugh that he hadn’t laughed in a long time.
Seeing him like this, Le Zhishi felt that the energy that he had been holding back for so many days had finally dissipated. However, he felt that he wasn’t like himself recently. He was a little worried about his gains and losses, and he was inexplicably sad and inexplicably happy. He could say that he didn’t want to be separated from Song Yu without any burden, but he couldn’t naturally explain that he had drawn in the middle of the night.
Seeing that Song Yu was still laughing, Le Zhishi was a little embarrassed and asked him to stop laughing. He grabbed his arm and wanted to pull him up.
However, Song Yu grabbed his arm, and the smile on his face disappeared. He calmed down.
“Give it to me. I like it very much,” he said seriously.
