Lovely Allergen - Chap 34
Le Zhishi suspected that someone had prayed for rain when he was praying for the amulet.
In June, the rainfall in Jiangcheng was calculated using Lake Donghu as the unit of measurement. The locals would only say that there were a few more Lake Donghu’s today. Le Zhishi estimated that there were about six raindrops in the college entrance examination in the past two days. Six was a good number. His brother’s college entrance examination must be auspicious.
Song Yu’s examination hall was very low and flooded. The sunken field almost became a lake. Le Zhishi sat in Lin Rong’s car and looked at the time. There were less than five minutes left.
The rain flowed down the car window. Le Zhishi couldn’t see outside clearly, so he secretly rolled down the window. The parents with umbrellas blocked the school gate. The rain poured in through the gaps in the window and wet Le Zhishi’s hair.
Not long after, he saw a tall figure holding an umbrella not far away. The figure walked out from the crowd of parents and walked toward them.
“Brother is out.” Le Zhishi opened the car door and waved at Song Yu. The rain poured into the car. Le Zhishi, who was only wearing a short-sleeved shirt, shivered.
Song Yu’s footsteps were obviously faster. He leaned into the car, closed the door, and locked the rain outside.
Le Zhishi’s revision materials were all on the seat. He hurriedly tidied them up to make room for Song Yu.
“Your father is still in a meeting.” Lin Rong took out a neatly folded dry towel from a big tote bag and handed it to Song Yu. “Meet us at the restaurant later. What do you want to eat?” Although she asked this, she knew that Song Yu would probably say anything.
Song Yu placed the soaked umbrella by his feet. “Crayfish.”
Le Zhishi was happier than anyone else. “I want to eat crayfish too.”
Lin Rong was a little surprised. She didn’t expect him to want to eat crayfish. “Okay, I’ll tell your father.”
They drove to the restaurant. On the way, the rain got heavier and heavier, and there was even thunder. Le Zhishi’s fear of thunder was purely a biological reaction. He couldn’t help but tremble as soon as the thunder passed. This habit was fine when he was young, but it always embarrassed him when he grew up, so he tried his best to control himself and not let himself tremble. Everyone was chatting in the car, but Le Zhishi was too scared, so he automatically changed the topic.
Song Yu sensed it and took out the bag used for the exam. He placed it between them and said in a low voice, “The things you gave me are very useful.”
Le Zhishi’s attention was quickly diverted. He turned to look at Song Yu’s face and asked in a low voice, “Really? Did you do well? ”
Song Yu nodded.
Le Zhishi quickly became happy, but it didn’t last long. A bolt of lightning struck him, and just as he was about to speak, he shuddered again. Even his voice was trembling. “That’s great …”
Song Yu felt that he was a little cute like this. He lowered his eyes and leaned against the back of the seat.
Le Zhishi found a headset that could completely cover his ears and put it on. He played rock music, then picked up the big bag in the corner and placed it on the left side of the seat. Half of his body was turned over, and his whole body was buried in the ground as he rummaged through it.
He first found a small purple lunchbox, turned it around, and placed it on Song Yu’s lap. Then, he quickly turned around, took out a bottle of soda, and handed it to Song Yu.
His hands didn’t stop moving, and he didn’t speak either. He was like a busy mime. Song Yu opened the lid of the lunchbox. Inside were sliced mangoes, strawberries, peeled grapes, and lychees. There was even a little golden syrup on top. It looked shiny and delicious.
Le Zhishi turned around and gave him a fork. His headset was playing very loud music, but he seemed to have forgotten that the other party could hear him, so he only made a gesture of cutting the fruit. Finally, he pointed at himself.
While waiting for the traffic light, Lin Rong happened to see them dividing the fruit. “Le just did that. He was very careful. He even removed the grape seeds.”
Song Yu ate a grape. It was very sweet. Le Zhishi also took a small fork and stuffed a piece of mango into his mouth. Then, he picked up a piece of lychee, leaned forward, and put it next to Lin Rong’s mouth.
The three of them finished dividing the small box of fruit. In the end, Le Zhishi ate the most. When he sat down in the dining room, he began to worry about his appetite. Song Jin arrived when the first cold dish was served. His shirt was a little wet. It was obvious that he had rushed here. Lin Rong considerately took out a silk handkerchief from her bag to wipe him.
When the crayfish was served, Le Zhishi suddenly remembered that after his brother’s middle school exams, they also ate crayfish. This made him feel like it was a ritual, and his mood improved.
He was looking forward to Song Yu peeling the crayfish for him like three years ago. However, because of Lin Rong’s role as a mother, Le Zhishi’s supply of crayfish was no problem at all. He couldn’t wait for Song Yu to peel the crayfish for him.
No one was too worried about Song Yu’s performance. At the dining table, they were in full swing planning for Le Zhishi’s family trip after his exams. Song Jin suggested going to Europe, but Lin Rong wanted to go to Egypt more. The two of them listed the benefits and let Song Yu choose. Song Yu said he wanted to go to Japan.
Le Zhishi stuffed a small plum-stained tomato into his mouth and took a bite. When he heard Song Yu’s suggestion, he also felt the same.
He nodded repeatedly and swallowed the tomato. “I want to go to Japan too. I want to go to Akihabara. ”
The cultural heritage and beautiful scenery couldn’t compare to the wishes of the two children in the Song family. After finalizing the location, Song Jin called his assistant to arrange the trip and book the flight and hotel. The family discussed the trip enthusiastically. Only Song Yu, who had suggested the location, remained silent.
After dinner, they didn’t stay outside for too long. After all, Le Zhishi still had to revise for his exams. When they returned home, Le Zhishi reviewed the wrong questions until midnight. He was a little sleepy, and his phone vibrated twice to wake him up. He rubbed his eyes and saw that Jiang Yufan had sent him a question, asking him how to solve it.
Coincidentally, Le Zhishi had just seen a question similar to this one. He quickly flipped to the page with the wrong questions, took a picture, and sent it to him.
The class group had been very lively before, but Le Zhishi didn’t participate. Now, he clicked in and flipped through the chat history, only to find out that everyone was making a fuss. The reason was that a girl in Class 7 had given her nameplate to a boy in their class. Her classmates saw it and joked about it in the group, saying that the boy was no longer single.
[I heard that you two are childhood sweethearts? Live opposite each other?]
[It’s completely a novel plot.]
[When will it be my turn to fall in love so sweetly …]
Le Zhishi was a little puzzled, so he left to ask Jiang Yufan.
[Le Zhishi: What’s wrong with giving a nameplate?]
When he asked the question, Jiang Yufan didn’t reply immediately, so he thought that he was asleep. He didn’t expect him to be so excited.
[Young Fan: Isn’t your name written on the nameplate? Anyway, in our school, since a long time ago, giving a nameplate to someone when we graduate means that that person is very important, and there will be people who want it. It’s best if you can get it. If the other party refuses to give it to you, it means that they don’t like you at all.]
So, Peiya had such a custom. Le Zhishi stared at the screen for a while and asked a question that Jiang Yufan found strange.
[Can a guy give it to a guy?]
After a while, Jiang Yufan replied: [There’s no rule against it. Why, are you giving it to me? Don’t give me something so precious. A basketball is enough.]
Le Zhishi was amused by him and replied with an emoticon.
He was still a little sleepy and wanted to drink something cold, so he went downstairs alone.
It was too late, and it was dark downstairs. He was too lazy to turn on the lights, so he crept along the wall to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and took out a glass of iced kiwi juice. He drank a glass, and it was sour and so cold that his head was shaking. He poured another glass and carried it upstairs.
Song Yu’s bedroom door was always closed, but this time, it was slightly ajar, and a ray of light leaked out. Le Zhishi couldn’t help but go closer and do something unexpected.
“You’re not asleep yet?”
Hearing the sound, Song Yu looked up at the door and saw Le Zhishi standing at the door, wearing a large milk blue T-shirt and white shorts, holding a glass.
“Why aren’t you asleep?” Song Yu threw the same question at him. “Don’t you have class tomorrow?”
“I just revised. Do you want juice? ”
Hearing no refusal, Le Zhishi came in. Song Yu was lying in bed watching a new documentary. The image looked very old. A foreigner wrapped in thick clothes stood at the foot of a snowy mountain and explained something. It looked very cold, just like the room with the air-conditioner turned on.
Song Yu didn’t drink the juice directly when he passed it to him, but put it on the cabinet beside the bed. The lights in his bedroom were all turned off, and only the cold blue-gray light from the projector fell on Song Yu’s face, making his facial features look even more handsome.
Le Zhishi yawned. Song Yu asked him to go back to sleep, but he sat on his bed and took off his slippers. “I want to watch this for a while.”
“You won’t like it.” Song Yu was very direct and cold.
“I like it.”
If you like it, I like it.
Song Yu’s bed was always neatly folded. The dark gray striped bedding didn’t look very warm, but once it was messed up and the quilt was pushed away, it looked exceptionally soft and comfortable.
Le Zhishi sat on the edge of the bed at first, then put his legs on it. After that, Song Yu didn’t know how he moved to his side and even covered his stomach with a corner of the quilt.
Song Yu wanted to ask him why he was lying on the bed, but Le Zhishi turned his face. The bridge of his nose and eyelashes were shining under the light of the projector. He asked very softly, “Can you give me a pillow to lean on? Brother. ”
When he called his brother, his voice was always softer than usual. Although he was a boy who had gone through puberty, sometimes he would sound like a child.
Song Yu handed him a pillow, but told him that he had to go back to his room to sleep in ten minutes.
Le Zhishi agreed very well, and then began to watch the documentary seriously. He asked which mountain it was, and why they were at the top of the mountain and what they were measuring. With so many questions, Song Yu felt that he was deliberately using this method to make him forget the time.
But he wouldn’t fall for it.
“You have a lot of questions.”
Le Zhishi paused and stared at the screen. He blinked slowly and then shrank into the quilt until only his eyes were exposed.
Song Yu knew that he was starting to act shamelessly. He planned to drag him out, but Le Zhishi rushed to explain before he could scold him. “Your air-conditioning is too low.”
“It won’t be cold when you go back.”
“Why do you always chase me away?” Le Zhishi looked up at him curiously. His eyes were innocent, and he simply wanted to know the answer.
Song Yu paused. “Because I like to be alone.”
Le Zhishi didn’t say anything. He felt that Song Yu was lying. No one liked to be alone. If there was, it was only temporary.
Maybe he just hadn’t found the person he liked to be with. If there was someone, he probably wouldn’t be like this. He would smile, look forward to that person staying, and give her something that he thought was important.
For example, a nameplate.
Le Zhishi thought of Jiang Yufan’s words, and some strange emotions surged in his heart. Recently, this feeling had been happening frequently, and it made him feel uncomfortable. Coincidentally, he just turned his head and saw a metal nameplate on the bedside table. It was shining under the changing light of the projection.
“Brother,” Le Zhishi took the nameplate and put it in the palm of his hand. “Can you give this to me?”
Song Yu frowned. “Why do you want mine?”
“Don’t you have two?” Le Zhishi grabbed it and begged him with his eyes wide open. “Give me one. Just treat it as a souvenir.”
In Song Yu’s eyes, his current behavior was exactly the same as going to the aquarium to ask for a small dolphin pendant, going to McDonald’s to ask for a set of dolphin dolls, or playing games to collect cards. There was no difference.
Song Yu turned his face and raised the temperature of the air conditioner. His eyes were fixed on the documentary screen.
“Up to you.”
How careless. Le Zhishi thought that it was so easy to give away something that everyone thought was precious.
Le Zhishi looked down at the nameplate in his hand and felt that he was very lucky. If he had asked Song Yu for it a little later, this little thing might have been given to someone else when Song Yu returned to school tomorrow. After all, there were a lot of people who liked Song Yu.
Imagining another person holding this nameplate, Le Zhishi was a little grateful for Song Yu’s carelessness.
He didn’t need to beg for too long.
A souvenir was like a sedative. After getting it, the child would be much quieter, whether it was in the ocean, the polar park, or the bedroom bed. If Song Yu gave him the nameplate, he would be able to watch this episode quietly.
When the opening of the next episode was played, he diverted his attention to his side and found that Le Zhishi had fallen asleep. Her head was tilted, her slightly curly hair was messy, and her lips were a little curled. She looked really tired. Her chest was slightly rising and falling, but she was still holding the nameplate in her hand.
Song Yu tried to wake him up and tell him to go back to sleep, but he couldn’t wake him up. It seemed cruel to use louder or force to wake him up, so he gave up and didn’t do anything.
Qin Yan sent a message. His phone vibrated. Le Zhishi didn’t wake up, but he moved slightly. Song Yu quickly picked up his phone and opened his friend’s WeChat for the first time without any delay.
[Qin Yan: You don’t even come to the Internet café. You just finished your college entrance exam and you still don’t come out to have fun. You’re a sociopath, handsome guy. What are you doing at home?]
[Qin Yan: Don’t tell me you’re asleep.]
Continuous vibrations were troublesome. Song Yu first turned on the do not disturb mode and then replied with a word.
[Song Yu: Okay.]
He put his phone aside and leaned down to lie down. However, he kept a distance from Le Zhishi.
There was a faint smell of kiwi fruit in the blanket. It was sour and sweet. Song Yu didn’t drink the juice he brought, but he seemed to have tasted it.
Le Zhishi woke up at dawn. He felt a little strange, but very comfortable. He opened his eyes slightly and found that he had fallen asleep with Song Yu’s back. His arm was around his thin waist, and his cheek was pressed against his back.
They were both lying on their sides, like a bunch of bananas that had been broken until only two were left. They were tightly pressed against each other.
Le Zhishi’s heart suddenly beat faster. He withdrew his hand and even forgot to worry about whether or not he would wake Song Yu up. His movements were not small. Song Yu indeed moved.
He didn’t wake up, but he turned around and hugged Le Zhishi, whose heart was beating too fast, into his arms. It was as simple and natural as hugging a pillow.
Their posture was just right. Le Zhishi’s cheek was pressed against Song Yu’s neck, and their bodies were pressed together. His heart was beating violently, almost as if it wanted to break free from his chest and jump into Song Yu’s chest, which was only a few feet away.
The projector was on all night. It turned out that the documentary was so long.
It was like time was flowing at this moment.
The school informed the third-year students to return to school the day after the college entrance examination. Song Yu’s alarm was set before the college entrance examination, and it rang at six o ‘clock. He opened his eyes with some difficulty and turned it off. The bed was empty. He wanted to continue sleeping for a while, but after thinking about it, he forced himself to get out of bed.
The projector had been turned off, and even the undrunk juice on the bedside table had disappeared, leaving no trace behind.
He bent down to tidy up the quilt. Something fell out and hit the floor with a thud. Song Yu glanced at it. It was his nameplate, so he bent down to pick it up.
When he wanted it, he would say all kinds of nice things, but when he got it, he didn’t care anymore.
The door was suddenly pushed open. Le Zhishi seemed to be very anxious. He looked flustered and gulped. “I … I left something behind.”
Song Yu pretended not to know anything. He turned around and asked, “What?”
Le Zhishi was in a hurry. He rushed up and flipped over the bed that he had just made. Although he made a mess, Song Yu was surprisingly calm. He wasn’t angry at all. In fact, he was even a little happy. When he realized that Le Zhishi was really flustered, he handed it over. “Here.”
Seeing Song Yu’s palm, Le Zhishi was obviously relieved and took it from him.
“You threw it away so quickly. Looks like you didn’t really need it.”
Le Zhishi didn’t want Song Yu to know how embarrassed he was when he sneaked out in the morning, so he calmly accepted Song Yu’s accusation and said obediently, “It won’t happen again.” In order to prove himself, he directly pinned the nameplate on his school uniform, next to his own. Then, he quickly left the school for morning self-study.
Song Yu turned around and stared at the bed that he had messed up again. After a while, he decided not to tidy it up and went downstairs for breakfast.
Lin Rong made some strange juice again. She thought that Song Yu might not like it, so she didn’t pour it for him. She didn’t expect that Song Yu would take the initiative to ask for it and even drank an extra cup.
“It’s pretty good.” For the first time, Song Yu made an evaluation of Lin Rong’s drink. This made Lin Rong feel very good.
The relaxed feeling of returning third-year students infected the security guards at the door. Those who used to make things difficult for the students looked very amiable today. The words “We Graduated” were written on the blackboard in the classroom. When Song Yu walked in, he only glanced at it once. It didn’t feel very real.
The classroom was very lively. The surrounding students were excitedly planning their holidays. The class monitor held the roster and asked everyone to sign their names on the list of participants for the Teacher Appreciation Banquet. In order to reduce the workload of the cleaning staff, the school had long ago emphasized to the third-year students that tearing books was forbidden. In fact, there were only a few students who actually wanted to tear books.
Many people took the books down and sold them as soon as they arrived.
The bags of books that were placed on the scale by the old man were the heavy and young hearts that had been tightly stretched for so many days.
Qin Yan came early. He had already finished packing. He pulled a stool and sat beside Song Yu. “Want me to help you?”
Song Yu shook his head and said that he could do it.
“Why didn’t you ask Auntie to come with you? My dad just left and took all my things. “Qin Yan put his arm around Song Yu’s shoulder.” I’m such a loyal friend. I’ll stay and accompany you. ”
Song Yu was too lazy to joke with him. He silently sorted out his revision materials. There was some noise at the door of the classroom. Qin Yan bumped Song Yu’s shoulder, hinting for him to look up. Song Yu frowned. He looked up and saw a lot of girls. One of them led the way, and the rest walked in together.
“Beauties.”
Song Yu turned his head to look at Qin Yan. “Not at all.”
Qin Yan: “…”
The girl in the middle was very beautiful. She had long black hair that reached her shoulders. She was a little shy. The girls clustered around her almost pushed her into the classroom. Qin Yan whispered that she was the class belle of the second year. Song Yu knew nothing about the second year, let alone the class belle. He only thought that she was probably Qin Yan’s type.
When Song Yu came to school in the morning, he met a girl downstairs who stopped him before he went upstairs. She had a ponytail, and her smile was bright and confident. She said lines similar to those in school dramas. Song Yu stood at a distance and listened to her. He rejected her graduation gift and confession.
The girl did not give up and asked for a reason. Song Yu said that there was no reason and continued to go upstairs.
When he got rid of her and went to the third floor, he stopped at the entrance of the sky corridor and stood silently for a while.
The girls who came in were even more eye-catching than the one in the morning. There were a lot of people in the class who were tidying up, and when they saw this scene, they started to kick up a fuss.
Qin Yan looked nonchalant, but he was actually a very sensible person. He usually made a lot of noise in front of Song Yu and wanted to tease this facial paralysis for no reason, but when it came to times like this, he did not say anything. He only bent down to help Song Yu take the books out of the drawer.
“What’s this? It’s so big.” Qin Yan forcibly pulled out the handmade album that Song Yu had stuffed at the bottom of the drawer and flipped through it. “It’s all white paper.”
Song Yu turned around in confusion. His first reaction when he saw the album was to snatch it back. “You can’t throw this away.”
“I didn’t say I was going to throw it away.” Qin Yan thought it was strange. He was so nervous, as if it was something important. But there was nothing on it, not even a name. It looked like it was brand new.
“Is that a photo album? And it’s leather. It must be very expensive. Is it … ”
“Shut up.”
The prettiest girl in class 9 was pushed all the way to Song Yu’s seat. She was even carrying a very exquisite gift bag with a luxurious brand logo on it. Song Yu seemed to not hear the commotion at all as he concentrated on tidying up.
The prettiest girl in class did not speak, but her friend beside her spoke first. “Song Yu, our Yao Yao has something to say to you.” After she finished speaking, she pushed the prettiest girl named Yao Yao, urging him to speak.
Qin Yan was starting to feel awkward for them.
“Senior Song Yu, I’ve liked you for a long time.” The girl named Yao Yao said shyly and handed over the gift bag in her hand. “This is the gift I’ve been choosing for a long time. I hope you like it. Before … before you were still studying for exams, I didn’t dare to say it because I was afraid of disturbing you. Now that you’re about to graduate from Peiya, it might be too late if I don’t say it now.”
Song Yu did not reach out to take the gift. The surrounding crowd was whispering, which made her friend very dissatisfied.
Yao Yao did not mind too much. She gathered her courage and asked again: “If you’re willing, can we give it a try?”
Song Yu was tidying up halfway when he saw the paper box in the drawer. It was made by Le Zhishi last time and was used to put the hand-painted painkillers. In comparison, this box seemed very childish and not expensive, but Song Yu stared at it for a long time.
Seeing that he was a little distracted, Yao Yao’s friend grabbed the gift bag in her hand and placed it on Song Yu’s desk. “Just put it here. You can give it to him. He can do whatever he wants with it.”
Qin Yan almost rolled his eyes when he heard this sentence. He was afraid that this was not a pig teammate.
However, Song Yu was still expressionless. He just separated the box made by Le Zhishi from the other things and put it in his bag. He did not raise his head, but he finally spoke.
“I suggest that you don’t put it on my desk. It might be taken away by the cleaning lady.”
The other party was evidently choked by his words, and that Yao Yao’s face was more or less a little embarrassed as well. However, just like everyone who confessed to Song Yu, she was fully mentally prepared. Hence, she tried once again. “Senior.” She looked at the cardboard boxes that Song Yu had sorted out. “Do you still want to take these away? If it’s possible, can you give me some notes? Also, your nameplate … ”
“I have a younger brother at home.” Song Yu interrupted her. He picked up a cardboard box from the floor, put it on the desk, and looked at her.
“I want to leave everything to him.”
