Mr. Dior - Chap 107 A day in the life of Guangzong
On Sunday morning, the villa was peaceful as usual.
Guangzong slept outside the master bedroom, his golden fur head pressed against the door, deeply immersed in a good dream. Suddenly, he startled awake, opening his eyes and listening carefully to the sounds inside the room.
The room was filled with the sound of rustling, which should be the sound of humans getting up and lifting the quilt. As a dog with excellent hearing, the Little Golden Retriever got up immediately, wagging its tail, and waited for its owners to open the door.
“Wu, what time is it?” Jiao Qi’s slightly nasal voice came from inside the room, and Guangzong wagged his tail even more vigorously. It was anxious to go out to pee, and usually, it was Jiao Qi who took it out on weekend mornings.
“Seven o’clock.” Zhang Chenfei seemed to be brushing his teeth, speaking a bit unclearly.
Jiao Qi yawned, got up, and went to the bathroom to freshen up.
After carefully listening for a while, Guangzong heard various flushing sounds and anxiously circled at the door. When it needed to pee, the sound of running water made it a bit unable to hold it in.
“Change into sportswears; let’s go for a run first.” Jiao Qi said. There was the sound of fabric rubbing. He must have been taking off his nightgown. Then he suddenly groaned, “Don’t make trouble, haha…”
“It’s not my fault; you didn’t turn around when undressing.” Zhang Chenfei, with something unclear in his mouth, spoke somewhat indistinctly.
“Wu…don’t…”
Guangzong sat down, tilted his head, not understanding what humans were doing in the room, and couldn’t help but ask, “Wang wang?”
However, the two people in the room ignored him. Instead, the big bed made a strange “creak” sound.
“Big Dick Zhang! I need to get up and exercise!”
“This exercise is not at all small; it’s equivalent to running three kilometres.” Zhang Chenfei analysed the calories consumed by the two activities from a scientific perspective.
Guangzong didn’t understand this, but he knew that the two people in the room gave up going out and started making various strange sounds again.
As an anxious dog needing to urinate, Guangzong was quite worried. Judging from its rich dog-life experience, it will take at least an hour if it started with “Mnn Mnn ah ah”. The butler downstairs, preparing breakfast, could wait, but it couldn’t!
Standing up, it pawed at the door, attempting to make the people inside understand the legitimate needs of the Golden Retriever Zhang Guangzong: “Wang wang wang!”
“Shh— ” The butler approached quietly, gently patting Guangzongs head to prevent it from barking. He led the puppy downstairs, “Guangzong ah, are you hungry?”
Down on the first floor, through the wide-open doors of the living room, a lush green lawn in the yard was visible. Guangzong’s eyes lit up as it sprinted to a corner of the yard under the camphor tree, raised one of its dog legs, and enjoyed itself…
It seemed like he forgot that this villa had a yard. He didn’t need a dog toilet or wait for the owner to take him outside.
“Aowu!” A black and white dog head suddenly poked in from the rose-covered fence, staring at Guangzong with curiosity. Guangzong recognized this dog; it was the Husky raised by Uncle Gao, the neighbour, called Gang Leader.
The gang leader’s name was chosen by Zhang Chenfei, who said was quite domineering.
Guangzong was startled and bared its teeth at the silly dog. It seemed like the Husky just said, “Yo-ho, your gang leader suddenly appeared”, which annoyed him to death.
“Gang leader Gao, come out for me!” Gao Shiqing shouted from outside the wall, pulling hard on the dog leash, trying to pull out the Husky stuck in the flower bushes.
The butler heard the noise, walked over to check, and helped Gao Shiqing get the dog’s head out. “Good morning, Mr. Gao.”
“Good morning. Has Da Fei not gotten up yet?” Since getting the Husky, Gao Shiqing hadn’t lost weight, but he had developed quite a bit of muscle in his arms from pulling the dog, more effective than lifting dumbbells.
The butler smiled and shook his head, then brought Guangzong out to play with Gang Leader.
The Golden Retriever seemed a bit unwilling, squatting on the ground and remaining still, letting the overly energetic Husky circle around it. When it was younger, Zhang Chenfei used to say it was the young marshal of the empire, the underworld’s crown prince, the heir to Atlantis……can’t quite remember others, but basically a very powerful dog, not in the same league as Gang Leader Gao.
“Aowu?” What is the underworld’s crown prince?
“Wang.” Even if I say it, you wouldn’t understand.
“Ao ao!” According to your owner, I’m the gang leader of the Qinghong Gang, so we’re quite similar.
“Wang wang.” Who’s similar to you? Your gang delivers takeout.
“Aowuwu, Aowu aowu.” Yesterday, I rode my teddy bear plushie at home, and it didn’t resist. Do you want to come over and give it a try? Good brothers share their wives!
“Wang!” No need.
Guangzong sighed; what a bad morning.
The afternoon sunlight was especially strong, and it was the perfect time for swimming in the early summer season.
There’s a large swimming pool in the backyard of the villa, with parasols and lounge chairs by the poolside. Jiao Qi swam two laps and then nestled into a lounge chair to rest.
Guangzong strolled into the backyard and saw Jiao Qi sleeping under a towel. Happily, it ran over, extending its big nose to sniff. The sweet water vapours smelled good, and it couldn’t resist sticking out its tongue, giving a lick to the hand that was damp with water droplets.
Jiao Qi was tickled by the licking and retracted his hand into the bath towel.
Guangzong, unable to reach the hand, climbed onto the lounge chair, squeezing in with its owner, attempting to lick his face. The Golden Retriever was just over a year old, a big dog now, and the lounge chair quickly became crowded.
“Haha, Guangzong.” Jiao Qi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He rubbed the dog’s head to prevent it from licking.
Very happy to be petted, Guangzong stretched its body, planning to take a nap while squeezed in like this.
Zhang Chenfei, wearing swim trunks, came to the backyard. Without much thought, he picked up the puppy and put it down, then climbed onto the lounge chair, squeezing in with his little wife.
“It’s too hot, go to the side.” Jiao Qi pushed the guy covered in sweat, urging him to sleep on another lounge chair.
“Dogs can sleep, why can’t I sleep?” Zhang Chenfei refused to overlook or spare, and continued to lie on the lounge chair motionlessly.
Guangzong, who was thrown off the lounge chair, wasn’t angry. It rolled on the cool tiles. From the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a dog head flashing past the wall.
Getting up in a hurry, Guangzong perked up its ears to listen to the sounds outside the wall. Suddenly, a Husky appeared again. The backyard wall wasn’t very high, but when a dog stood up, it couldn’t be seen. That fool was obviously jumping around.
“Aowu!” Your gang leader suddenly appeared!
“Wang wang!” Guangzong had had enough of this neighbour.
“Huh? Gang Leader?” Following Guangzong’s gaze, Zhang Chenfei spotted the intermittently appearing dog head. He called for Louis XIII to open the electronic control lock on the backyard gate and let the Gao family’s child in.
Excitedly, Gang Leader Gao rushed in, sticking out his tongue and shaking his ears. As soon as he ran to the front of the swimming pool’s tiles, the soles of his feet started to slip. Guangzong widened its dog eyes, watching the black and white fur cannonball directly running into itself.
The two dogs resembled the white and yellow balls on a pool table. The yellow ball was knocked into the swimming pool, and the white ball, unable to stop his car in time, slid in after it.
“Plop!”
Guangzong flipped over in the clear blue water, looking at the bubbly Husky with a toothy grin. It seemed as if it saw the lost Atlantis, which made the dog inexplicably sad.
What a bad afternoon.
After being tangled up with the Husky all afternoon, Guangzong couldn’t get a good nap. Finally, as evening approached, it was time to return to the apartment in the city centre. The weary Golden Retriever was too powerless to care about being locked out of the bedroom again. It headed downstairs, climbed onto the soft sofa, and prepared to have a good sleep.
“Bang!” Suddenly, a heavy door-slamming sound came from upstairs. Guangzong looked up and saw Zhang Chenfei coming down, holding a pillow, dejectedly.
“Dad is here to sleep with you.” Zhang Chenfei threw the pillow on the sofa and squeezed together with the golden retriever.
Guangzong gave him a sympathetic look and rested its chin on him. It really liked Zhang Chenfei’s chest; it was where it used to lean against when it first came to this home as a puppy. Although it couldn’t fit on it now, placing its head there still felt comfortable.
“Guangzong, you’re still the best.” Zhang Chenfei hugged his dog son.
“Wang…” Just to be clear, while I’m happy to sleep with you, you have to promise not to gnaw on my head. Honestly, I’m not interested in becoming a vampire dog.
Halfway through the night, Guangzong opened its eyes, wanting to drink water. It felt the warmth on its head. The sensation of human teeth and the wet saliva—without needing to look, it knew its dog head was being chewed on again.
He hesitated between freeing itself or not for a moment. Before it could decide, there were light footsteps coming from upstairs.
Barefoot and without slippers, Jiao Qi walked down and, seeing his Lao Gong sleeping sprawled out on the sofa with the dog, bent down to cover him with a blanket. The air conditioning in the room was strong, and sleeping like this would surely lead to catching a cold the next day.
Jiao Qi was about to leave when suddenly his nightgown was grabbed by a big hand. He turned around, only to meet a pair of bright eyes.
“Worried I’ll catch a cold? Then let me go back to the room to sleep.”
“I’m worried about Guangzong catching a cold.” Jiao Qi, caught in the act of secretly being concerned for his Lao Gong, couldn’t help but blush.
“Then I’ll give the blanket to Guangzong.” Zhang Chenfei got up, piled the entire blanket on the Golden Retriever, and stuck to his little wife’s back like a plaster.
“Go rinse your teeth; you just chewed on the dog.”
“Okay, sir, I’ll go upstairs to rinse.”
Guangzong popped its head out from under the blanket, watching the two wobbling upstairs like that. Suddenly, it felt a bit regretful for not accepting Gang Leader Gao’s invitation. This home was not very friendly for a single dog. Silently, it walked to the dog bowl and took a big bite of dog food. What a bad night, wangwu!
