Mr. Dior - Chap 53
“… …”
“Bang!” The bedroom door shut in the Vampire Lord’s face, nearly flattening his nose. He not only failed to drink his slave’s sweet blood, he’d even gotten banished from the bedroom.
“You bold little creature, do you know what you’re doing?” Zhang Chenfei said languidly, leaning against the door frame. “In the thousands of years I’ve been alive, no one has ever dared to be this insolent toward the great Lord Nicholas.”
The golden furball who had also been shut out of the bedroom tilted its head as it looked at the great Lord Nicholas.
“What do you think you’re looking at, you dumb wolf cub? You and I are not in the same position here,” Mr Vampire said, reaching out a long finger and poking the dog’s head.
The great Vampire Lord had been shut out of his bedroom by his own bloodslave, and now even had to sleep with a werewolf cub. This was utterly humiliating! Zhang Chenfei lay down on the sofa and thought hard. Tomorrow, when it was time to suck his slave’s blood, he was certainly going to give that little sacrificial lamb a good lesson. He’d make him cry. Mwahaha.
Guangzong clambered onto the sofa on his short little legs, then crept into Zhang Chenfei’s blankets, snuggling against his warm body. Puppies at this age grew very quickly. It had only been a few weeks, but he was a lot bigger than he had been when Jiao Qi first brought him home. The puppy’s head was nestled below Zhang Chenfei’s chin, and his hind legs rested on his abdomen.
“Werewolf cub, you really have a death wish.” The furry little head was pressed up against Zhang Chenfei’s chin as if it was trying to act cutesy, and the great vampire unfortunately found this cuteness very difficult to resist. The loathsome werewolf cub must have learnt this skill from his sacrificial lamb, pretending to be soft and cuddly so that he wouldn’t have the heart to behave harshly towards it.
“Ruff ruff.” The golden furball made two little noises in its throat. It didn’t know what this human was talking about, but it still replied very politely. It was a mannerly little creature.
“I am a vampire, you know. Vampires specialise in eating werewolves,” Big Cock Zhang said, trying to scare the puppy by opening his fearsome mouth and pretending to bite it.
Guangzong looked up at him and yawned, revealing a mouth full of doggy teeth… his canines were even bigger than a vampire’s fangs.
” …” Mr vampire shut his mouth in embarrassment, then painstakingly explained the ways of the world to the little werewolf cub. “Werewolves are all bad creatures. You should stop being a werewolf. I’ll help you turn into something with a much better blood lineage,” he said.
As a noble vampire dog, the furball could become the great Mr Dior’s son, and inherit his priceless Millenium Castle.
The next day, when Jiao Qi got up and went downstairs, he saw Big Cock Zhang sleeping soundly on the sofa, gnawing absently at the puppy’s head in his dreams. The dog’s head had a great wet patch of Zhang Chenfei’s drool. Guangzong looked over at Jiao Qi without moving, his round black eyes communicating eloquently that he had been very wronged.
Jiao Qi looked on helplessly, then woke Mr Vampire up. “What are you doing today?” he asked.
“Going to work, of course,” Zhang Chenfei said, sitting up and stretching languidly. As a high-ranked vampire, he could walk around in the day without issue, and naturally had a mortal identity as well. The legend of the great Dior Nicholas Zhang had been sung in every corner of the world, but no one knew that he was in fact Shifei Tech’s CEO, Zhang Chenfei.
Whew. At least he still knew he had a job.
Jiao Qi relaxed. He decided he’d send Zhang Chenfei to Shifei Tech’s office first, then head on to Bajiao Inc.
“Last night, you didn’t let me eat anything, and I might go into starvation mode at any time. As such, you must be home on the dot today,” Zhang Chenfei said. He was wearing a crisp suit, and grabbed hold of his sacrificial lamb just outside the door. It felt like he was holding on to some fabulous delicacy. He buried his nose in Jiao Qi’s neck and sucked in a deep breath.
“What happens when you go into starvation mode?’
“When I’m in starvation mode, I won’t be able to stop myself from killing people if I can’t eat you,” Zhang Chenfei murmured, his voice dark and husky.
“… …”
Jiao Qi was alarmed by this development. He felt like the situation might actually get out of hand, and so abandoned the plan to go to Bajiao Inc, deciding to follow Zhang Chenfei to Shifei Tech instead. He now had a desk there anyway, and the employees of both their companies were used to this arrangement.
They headed to the canteen to have breakfast once they got to Shifei Tech. There was no differentiation between management and staff in the Shifei canteen, save that there were a few reserved seats for those in senior management. These seats were on a raised wooden split-level next to the glass windows.
There were two Vice Presidents who were also there eating their breakfast, and when they saw Jiao Qi and Zhang Chenfei come over, they stood up and greeted them politely.
Jiao Qi nodded slightly in acknowledgment and gestured for them to continue eating. He led Zhang Chenfei to sit at a table not too far away from them. Zhang Chenfei took a lot of food for Jiao Qi, and after eating his fill quickly, he sipped elegantly at a glass of watermelon juice as he nagged at his little pampered wife to eat more. “You’re too skinny. This won’t do. If one day, I can’t control myself and eat you up, you won’t be able to bear it,” he said.
Can’t control myself… eat you up…
The two Vice Presidents exchanged awkward looks, then picked up their plates and moved further away. The topic was much too sexplosive for an early morning! This couple really needed to have a bit more empathy for their employees.
“Shut up,” Jiao Qi said, giving him a kick under the table. He’d seen how the two Vice Presidents had reacted, and couldn’t help turning red with embarrassment. He quickly finished his food and pulled Big Cock Zhang out of the canteen.
Just as they left the canteen, they met the Demon King, who was here to get a free meal with his staff card.
“Why are you here?” Jiao Qi asked in surprise. He couldn’t help but be astonished at meeting his own employee here at this hour.
“I heard that the Game Testing Centre just installed a new game called “The Vampire Prince”, and I thought I’d come and try it out. If it’s good, I’ll feature it on my livestream for the next two days,” the Demon King said, his adorable little canine teeth coming into full view as he smiled.
The programmers usually didn’t come to work in the morning, so the Demon King borrowed his Programmer Brother Yuan’s staff card and decided to try Shifei’s breakfast on the way to the Game Testing Centre.
“You really do know how to enjoy yourself…” Jiao Qi said, smiling faintly. Before he finished speaking, Zhang Chenfei suddenly pulled him behind himself.
“Young man, enjoy yourself to the fullest,” Zhang Chenfei said in a voice thick with meaning. He narrowed his eyes at the Demon King.
“Oh-kay!” The Demon King thought that his boss was telling him to have a good breakfast, and he smiled happily as he walked into the canteen.
Zhang Chenfei’s expression became cold, and he dragged his little sacrificial lamb into the CEO’s exclusive lift without another word. They were finally alone. “In future, stay away from that fellow,” he warned in a low voice.
“What’s up with you?” Jiao Qi asked, confused.
“He’s a vampire,” the Vampire King said severely. He was very worried. His little bloodslave had such fresh, sweet blood, and he had let him be seen by another vampire! If he didn’t watch his bloodslave closely, other bats might take advantage of him.
“Huh?!” Jiao Qi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. The last time, Zhang Chenfei said that Wang Mo was an Alpha, and now he said that he was a vampire. How had this poor Demon King offended Zhang Chenfei?
“A little stripling like him only knows how to do things simply and crudely. If you get caught by him, it won’t be as comfortable for you as it is with me,” his Majesty the Vampire King said, doing his best to scare his little bloodslave so that he would behave and wouldn’t run away.
“How do you know he’s a vampire?”
“Didn’t you see those fangs of his?” That vampire was too young and didn’t know how to retract his fangs yet.
