Mr. Dior - Chap 56
“… …” Jiao Qi had no idea whether he could be “sustainably developed”, but he did know that he was feeling warmer and warmer.
The little wife observed the great Vampire Lord gritting his teeth and trying to be zen. Fine, if he didn’t want to do it, they didn’t have to; abstinence wouldn’t kill Zhang Chenfei anyway. His own situation was manageable since he’d already been satisfied once earlier in the day. Big Cock Zhang, on the other hand, might come down with an ulcer or something tomorrow.
As expected, there was a pimple on the Vampire Lord’s scalp the next day. It was hidden in his hair, so it couldn’t be seen, but Zhang Chenfei felt it keenly. It was painful and itchy all at the same time.
“Let me have a look,” Jiao Qi said, tiptoeing to pull his Laogong’s head down. He ran his hands through his husband’s hair, then found a small red protrusion on it. It was plainly obvious that it was caused by being too heaty. Zhang Chenfei had a strong body that was full of male energy, and he had refused to release any of it last night even after eating nourishing food. It was no wonder that he’d gotten a pimple as if he were a teenager in the midst of puberty.
Jiao Qi found some anti-itching cream in their medicine box and applied it to the pimple, then told him to drink some cooling tea. However, Mr Vampire insisted that he had been burned by the sun’s rays.
“I was too careless. Even if I am a powerful vampire, I can’t beat my natural enemy, the sun,” he said. He was worried that he would start balding if the sun continued damaging his scalp, and so put on a bowler hat and opened his massive black umbrella again.
Jiao Qi couldn’t be bothered with him any more and let him do as he pleased. “I’m going to Bajiao Inc. today. I won’t be following you to Shifei,” he said.
Zhang Chenfei frowned. He originally wasn’t going to agree, but he saw that his little wife had pursed his lips in annoyance, and so decided to compromise. “Alright. But I want you to send me a message every hour so that I know you’re safe,” he said.
A message every hour… troublesome, but not impossible. Jiao Qi nodded in agreement. In the past, Big Cock Zhang had also been quite overprotective, and if he didn’t receive any messages from Jiao Qi after a certain period of time, he would get very worried. Subsequently, Jiao Qi had slowly gotten into the habit of telling his Laogong where he’d be before he left, and would also tell him what time he’d be back when he had social activities planned.
Now that his brain wasn’t working as per normal, he’d gotten even worse, and wanted a message every hour.
Jiao Qi set Anne to remind him of this, and dutifully sent a message to Big Cock Zhang every hour. He thought this meant that he could finally apply himself to his work in peace, but after he sent the second message, a head topped with a black bowler hat appeared at his door.
“What’re you doing here? Didn’t I send the message as promised?” Jiao Qi asked. The veins at his temples were throbbing so hard that they threatened to pop out and form a three-way vein. This fellow wasn’t a vampire, he was a stalker poltergeist.
Zhang Chenfei walked in holding a briefcase, then dragged a chair over to sit next to Jiao Qi. “Ah, my little sweetie, I can’t bear to leave you here all by your lonesome self. Just the thought of you being alone frightens me more than being burned to a crisp by the blazing noonday sun. Did you know, on the way here, I discovered that this building has more than one vampire clan!” he said.
“And so?” Jiao Qi asked, folding his arms. Zhang Chenfei pulled out a super-thin laptop and a stack of documents from the briefcase, looking for all the world like an obedient student who was about to hand in his homework.
“Let’s be deskmates today, shall we?” Mr Dior said, winking at Jiao Qi mischievously. “Do you need Big Brother Vampire here to help you with your homework?”
It had to be said that the vampire in front of Jiao Qi was incredibly adorable right now. Jiao Qi’s temper completely disappeared. Whatever. He gave up.
However, troubles were never too far away with this vampire. Big Cock Zhang only did his work for a short while before starting to fuss, wanting to drink tomato juice one moment, then asking for snacks the next. It was as if he had really turned into a preschooler. Thankfully Yu Yuan had a drawer well-stocked with snacks, and he was able to satisfy most of this overbearing vampire’s requests, except…
“I want to drink blood!”
“Smack!” A solid slap landed on the back of Zhang Chenfei’s head. It so happened to hit that pimple on his head, and he yelled in pain. “Be good, now. You’ll get it when you go home.” When the admin assistant walked into Jiao Qi’s office, she saw her boss cajoling the teary-eyed CEO Zhang in a cold, indifferent manner. There wasn’t any warmth in his voice at all, and it somehow looked like the scene of family violence.
“Ahem. CEO Jiao, the new functions of the video platform will be launched tonight. What time will you be staying until? Would you like anything for supper?” she asked. Whenever new functions were added, the CEO would usually take the lead and stay on to make sure nothing went wrong, and everyone else also didn’t dare to leave whilst the CEO himself was doing overtime. If there were problems with the launch, they’d be here until the wee hours of morning.
The functions being launched tonight were not very complex, and they’d already run a number of tests on it. It was very unlikely that they’d encounter any issues. In so asking, the administrative assistant was also trying to see how long their boss intended to stay in the office for this.
Jiao Qi stared blankly at her for a while. He realised that he hadn’t been working overtime for quite some time now, because he had to get off work on time to take care of his sick husband. He had even come in late and left early, in fact. “You don’t have to order any supper for me. If there’re any problems, give me a call,” he said, after thinking for a while.
“Certainly!” the administrative assistant said brightly. When the boss didn’t work overtime, staff who didn’t have any connection to the launch, like her, could leave work on time. The Demon King was doing a livestream on the vampire game today and she really wanted to get home in time to watch it.
“A vampire livestream?” Zhang Chenfei asked, raising his head.
The admin assistant got a shock. It was only then that she realised she had said everything that was on her mind without thinking – she had been too excited. She glanced anxiously at her boss before replying in an embarrassed voice. “Yes, the Demon King is at Shifei Tech’s Game Testing Centre playing ‘The Vampire Prince’. He even agreed to put on a costume for his fans,” she said.
Night fell, and the Demon King appeared on screen in a medieval-looking pleated white shirt. He raised a hand elegantly, bowing formally in an old-fashioned way before raising his head slightly and greeting the audience. “Good evening,” he said.
“OMGOMGOMG!!!!”
“Ahhhhh I’m dedddd”
“Who am I? Where is this?”
The young gaming champion had applied a light-coloured powder on his face, and had attached two long fangs to his small canines. The fangs could be seen when he opened his mouth, and he was surprisingly good-looking in this getup.
The livestream comments bar was exploding. About half of the Demon King’s fans were face cons, and had thought that he would have at best just put on a pair of fake fangs to amuse the audience. They didn’t think that he’d be so serious about dressing up as a vampire. These face cons were completely beside themselves and tossing gifts to him like crazy.
The Demon King scratched his head, slightly embarrassed. “Ah, actually, I didn’t have this makeup done professionally. One of the jiejies in Shifei’s admin department did this for me. Don’t judge it too harshly!” he said.
The admin jiejie actually didn’t do much. She just applied powder to his face, drew his eyebrows, and dabbed some pink powder at the corners of his eyes. He looked very alluring in a pale, sickly sort of way.
There were certainly some fans who didn’t like it. The male fans, in particular, were quite turned off.
“Wasn’t this supposed to be a gaming livestream? How’s this different from the fellows selling meat next door?”
“This sucks balls. He’s a real disgrace to pro gamers! All he knows how to do is please his girly fans!”
“You don’t even have an actual job, and now you’re not even doing what you’re supposed to do. You’re a pro-gamer for f*ck’s sake! Useless trash.”
It looked like the fans were about to start a massive online battle. The Demon King laughed as he licked at his fangs. “I show a bit of this and that in my livestream, and earn some money doing advertisements. Bro, I also need to put food on the table. You could always support me financially instead, I’d play whatever game you ask me to play then,” he said.
As he said this, the admin jiejie’s voice could be heard. “Little Wang, you’re eating supper here, right?”
“Yes!” the Demon King said, raising his hand immediately.
“Alright. Tonight we’re having zhajiang noodles and braised duck leg, ‘kay?.”
“Awesome!” the Demon King said, grinning happily. “I’ve got duck leg tonight!” he said to his fans excitedly.
The fans all expressed sympathy for him; this foolish child was so happy just to hear that he had a duck leg for dinner – was CEO Jiao mistreating him?
Anyway, whatever outfit the Demon King wore was only the icing on the cake; the real meat of the matter in this livestream was still the actual gameplay. He used Shifei’s expensive VR set to play “The Vampire Prince”, and the experience was about ten times better than that using standard equipment. Sensory equipment enabled the player to engage in an immersive hunting experience, pick up the game props, and even touch the vampire prince he cultivated.
Because Shifei had expanded the content greatly after it took over this product, it had added a number of new male MCs to cater to male players. The Demon King’s virtual hands in the game were a pair of male hands, and he used them to secretly caress the vampire prince’s face as the latter was eating the piece of blood he had just handed to him.
“Holy f*ck, I can touch him!” the Demon King exclaimed. He touched the vampire prince’s face again. The sensory gloves gave him the sensation that he was able to touch the prince as if he were solid, and as he moved his hands down the vampire prince’s body, the gloves adjusted to make it seem like he was really touching the prince.
“Please don’t be rude,” the vampire said, frowning and pushing his hand away. The sensory gloves also allowed the player to feel the vampire’s push. It was incredibly exhilarating.
“Wow, it actually has this kind of hidden ability?!”
“OMG, the way rich people play is so different from us commoners!”
Jiao Qi lay prone on the bed watching the livestream. When he saw the Demon King touch the vampire prince enthusiastically, he also turned to touch his own Vampire Lord, pinching Mr Vampire’s face playfully. He then tossed a gift to the Demon King.
The Demon King’s sharp eyes caught sight of his boss’ ID, and immediately read it out: “Boss, thanks for your gift of… 1 RMB.”
“Why are you reading out a gift of 1 RMB?!”
“I just tossed you a gift of 1,000 RMB, but you didn’t pay any notice to me!”
“Ah, no, I’m talking about my real boss. Your Great Young Master,” the Demon King said, showing the audience the screenshot with Jiao Qi’s nickname – CEO Testing Account.
“Ah? That’s the real Young Master?”
“Ooooo, Young Master, is Daddy Chenfei around?”
“Hahaha, the Young Master only gave you 1 RMB!”
Jiao Qi couldn’t help pressing his lips together and smiling when he read the comments feed. Zhang Chenfei, who was lying down and playing a game on his IntelliBrain, turned around and saw his little wife smiling in an unusual manner. He silently got up and scooted over to his side to see what his wife was looking at.
“Boss, some generosity please!” the Demon King said, doing tasks and talking to the screen at the same time. His little vampire fangs could be seen when he spoke.
After much urging from the Demon King and the audience, Jiao Qi tossed in another 1 RMB.
“Once more, I thank the boss for his gift of… 1 RMB again?” the Demon King blinked cutely at the camera, making his female face cons squeal with glee.
Jiao Qi couldn’t help laughing. Meanwhile, Mr Dior’s expression was extremely dark. “Stop watching!” he said. That bloody devil. How dare he publicly seduce a Vampire Lord’s personal bloodslave? He must be tired of living!
“Now I can’t even watch a livestream?” Jiao Qi said, pulling back his IntelliBrain from Zhang Chenfei and shooting him a glare.
“Fabulous, now you’re speaking up for him as well. I have no choice but to sentence him to death,” he said. Lord Nicholas picked up the telephone as he spoke. He was going to teach that insolent young vampire a lesson he wouldn’t forget.
After a while, the admin department went over to give the Demon King his supper whilst he was still livestreaming.
There was a bowl of zhajiang noodles, two duck legs, a cup of lemon tea, and a mysterious little box with unknown contents. The admin jiejie held out the little box to him. “CEO Zhang gave this to you. He said it’s a punishment,” she said.
“Huh? CEO Zhang did?” the Demon King said, confused. Why was he being punished out of the blue?
“Watch. He won’t dare to eat it now that he knows it’s from me,” Zhang Chenfei said, using an arm to hold his little wife in place as they looked at the screen. His bloodslave had to see the death of this handsome young vampire with his own eyes.
The box was opaque, and it held an unspeakable danger. The Demon King reached out and took off the lid slowly. His eyes suddenly widened.
The contents of the box were pale, and it gleamed under the lights. It was a full box of…sweet pickled garlic!
