Mr. Yuan is Always Unhappy - Chap 5
At a later time, Zheng Qiuyang came out of the shower to see Yuan Rui lying on the bed reading. He glanced at it, surprised to find that it wasn’t a Detective Conan book. Yuan Rui was a huge fan of Conan.
Zheng Qiuyang was curious. “What book is that?”
Yuan Rui showed the cover to him, The Basics of Form and Structure in Film Performance.
“……”
Yuan Rui put down the book and gave it two last glances before speaking painfully, “I can’t continue, there are too many words.”
Zheng Qiuyang said, “Don’t read anymore, go to sleep.”
Yuan Rui closed his book then put it beside the stack of Detective Conan books before lying flat on the bed.
Zheng Qiuyang hovered over him to kiss him.
When he was done, Yuan Rui opened his glossy eyes to ask, “Want to do it?”
Zheng Qiuyang smiled, then said, “What do you think?”
Yuan Rui trailed down the path of Zheng Qiuyang’s abdomen. He contemplated for a moment before saying, “Can you not touch my chest today?”
Zheng Qiuyang didn’t understand. “……Why?”
Yuan Rui replied awkwardly, “We have to take off our jackets when we practice our form in class. You could see it through my t-shirt, it’s so weird.”
Zheng Qiuyang found it a little funny, he agreed. “Alright, I won’t, I won’t.”
But just a while later, he couldn’t hold back. Yuan Rui resisted, “Stop!”
Zheng Qiuyang retrieved his hand. In less than half a minute, he touched it again.
Yuan Rui spoke grumpily, “You already agreed. Why are you being like this?”
Zheng Qiuyang had no excuses. “The more I think about not being able to touch it, the harder it makes to control my hands.”
Yuan Rui thought inside, Nonsense, you’re just a chest fanatic.
“Turn around to lie on your stomach, maybe my hands won’t itch if I don’t see them.”
Yuan Rui felt that it made sense, so he turned around to lie on the bed obediently.
The two of them slowly heated up.
Suddenly, Yuan Rui’s tone took a sharp turn as he yelled, “You’re doing it again!”
Zheng Qiuyang quickly put his hands back on his waist.
After repeating that for a few times, Yuan Rui got a bit angry. But it was really out of his control, Zheng Qiuyang proceeded to forget about it as well.
Once it was over, Zheng Qiuyang saw that the situation wasn’t good. He tried to lessen the blame on him by saying, “You can’t blame it on me entirely.”
Yuan Rui didn’t pay him any mind.
“Are you really angry?”
Yuan Rui still didn’t say anything.
Zheng Qiuyang was very shocked. Yuan Rui had a super good temper, he had never been ignored like this before.
He massaged Yuan Rui’s shoulders, trying to please him. “Yuan Xiao Rui?”
Yuan Rui turned his head to look at him. His face was still a bit flushed red, his lips were tightly pressed together. Only after a while did he speak up, “Why didn’t you keep your words?”
Zheng Qiuyang immediately said, “I was wrong.”
Yuan Rui moved around. “Get off me first, you’re numbing my legs.”
Zheng Qiuyang flipped to the other side.
Yuan Rui sat up slowly as he complained pitifully, “Look, it’s swollen again.”
Zheng Qiuyang suppressed his laugh to speak in a serious tone, “Mn, my bad for not being able to hold back.”
Yuan Rui’s eyebrows furrowed. “You clearly said you wouldn’t do it. Don’t agree if you can’t carry it out.”
Zheng Qiuyang couldn’t hold it anymore, he rolled around from laughing so much.
Yuan Rui’s face was red from anger. “You’re still laughing! What am I going to do for my class tomorrow?”
Zheng Qiuyang laughed as he spoke, “Don’t worry, no one would stare at that place.”
“What do you mean no one would? I told you not to do it precisely because someone stared at me in class today.”
Zheng Qiuyang couldn’t laugh anymore. “Who? Who stared?”
“A classmate, I don’t remember his name. He kept turning his head to look at me, I could feel him staring at my chest. He must’ve thought I was very weird.”
Zheng Qiuyang bursted out inside, Your classmate’s the weird one, okay?! He sat up to ask, “Is he handsome?”
Yuan Rui thought for a moment before speaking, “He is pretty handsome, though also a bit feminine.”
“……”
He looked at Yuan Rui’s pecs and abs, then his wheat toned skin. Suddenly, he felt complicated.
Yuan Rui got off the bed to look in the mirror. Once he saw his chest, he reacted madly. “AHHHH IT GOT THIS BIG AGAIN!”
Zheng Qiuyang left after finishing breakfast the next day. Yuan Rui washed the dishes and then started to wipe the table and floors. Before he was even done, Zheng Qiuyang came back.
“You’re skipping work again?” Yuan Rui disapproved. “Even if no one is managing you, you still shouldn’t let yourself off so freely like this.”
But Zheng Qiuyang didn’t come in. “I bought you something, I’ll leave right away.”
Yuan Rui went over to see that Zheng Qiuyang had bought him a box of chest pastes.
Zheng Qiuyang beat around the bush. “It was my fault last night, I won’t casually agree to things I can’t accomplish in the future.”
Yuan Rui looked at him. “Oh.”
Zheng Qiuyang continued, “Remember to put it on before going to class…and remember to distance yourself from that classmate too, that way he won’t stare at you so much.”
“Mn.”
“Then I’ll be going.”
Yuan Rui pulled on his sleeve. “Actually, I wasn’t that angry last night.”
“……”
Yuan Rui felt a bit embarrassed. “I gave you a bad attitude, I regretted it right there.”
Zheng Qiuyang teased him on purpose. “Really? I thought you never wanted to speak to me again.”
“How could I?!”
Zheng Qiuyang looked at him quietly.
Yuan Rui said in a low voice, “I like you so much.”
Zheng Qiuyang’s heart melted into a puddle of water. Having changed from a past straight playboy to what he is today, he has no regrets at all.
There were 12 sessions in the acting crash course. Unknowingly, Yuan Rui had already finished half.
The Mid-Autumn Festival was near. That holiday wasn’t anything special for someone without parents and family like Yuan Rui, but this year was a bit different.
“Mr. Zheng’s birthday is on August 15th?” Zhao Zhengyi smiled. “No wonder he has such a good life.”
“What do you mean by a good life?”
“He’s the son of the king of jewelry, how could you possibly say his life isn’t good? Unlike me, my dad’s a taxi driver, hahaha.”
Yuan Rui furrowed his eyebrows. “You can’t really say that, he actually…sigh, let’s not talk about him. My dad doesn’t have a job and loves to gamble, I’m worse off than you.”
Zhao Zhengyi said nothing.
“But after he and my mom divorced, it’s been over ten years since I’ve seen him. I don’t even know where he went.”
Zhao Zhengyi watched his words carefully. “That’s good, at least he won’t come back to drag down you and your mom.”
Yuan Rui sighed again. “He can’t, my mom’s been dead for almost ten years too.”
Zhao Zhengyi sympathized with him. “I suddenly feel like my life is pretty good…then, how did you get by yourself these years?”
Yuan Rui replied, “My step-dad treats me really well. He paid for my education and even helped me go aboard.”
Zhao Zhengyi was very touched by the love of his reformed family. “The world bears true love…”
Yuan Rui pointed out the car window. “Look, that’s my step-dad.”
Zhao Zhengyi’s eyes followed the direction of his finger. They landed on a China Dream billboard sign, on it was a gentle and affable middle-aged man. He stared for a while before speaking in shock, “Your step-dad is the district chief?!”
“The co-district chief.”
Zhao Zhengyi replied tiredly, “……In the end, my life’s the worst.”
