Mr. Yuan is Always Unhappy - Chap 72
CH72 – YUAN RUI WON THE RAFFLE 233
Yuan Rui was overjoyed at the private message notifying that he had won the raffle. Thank you, Koi King! Thank you, poisoned peach! Thank you, Xiu XianLu’s fingernails and Liu QuanYou’s hand! Thank you, Apostle’s link and Wang SiCong’s dog! Thank you to all of the different fractions. You let me win! You let me win!
Half a minute later, he calmed down. The winner was his ChengV account. How was he supposed to accept the reward like this?
He took a closer look. This blog owner was an artist with over 600k fans. They were studying overseas. Because of the time difference, they drew the raffle bright and early in the morning. Recently, she published a very cute manga strip series, which was very popular. Every single original manga post had thousands and even 10k reblogs. That raffle post had over 200k reblogs, and more than 100k were reblogged secondhandedly from Yuan Rui’s account. The Weibo post announcing the winner was reblogged 20k times within just half an hour.
His own Weibo comment section has already been flooded by messages of “Congratulations from the people of XX”. XX included more than 30 provincial administrative districts and special municipal regions throughout the nation, as well as islands that have not returned to the motherland yet. There were also people studying overseas and countrymen living abroad. There were even congratulatory messages from Japanese, Korean, and Singapore fans who had specifically registered on Weibo for him.
The more he read, the more embarrassed he felt. What should he do? Everyone knew that he won $233 now and were definitely ”233” him. But he couldn’t 233 at all.
He felt like he must be the most tragic raffle winner in the history of Weibo. In the past, he had reblogged countless times without winning even once. Now he finally won, but couldn’t accept it.
Just as he sighed and lamented in front of the phone, Li LingLing called over again: “You won the raffle?”
Yuan Rui hastily said: “I didn’t accept the prize. I didn’t even think about it one bit. Really.”
Li LingLing: “……”
She also knew Yuan Rui’s Weibo account and password. After he forgot to switch accounts and reblogged the raffle, Li LingLing gave him quite the tongue-lashing. Originally she wanted to delete those posts; however, the fans’ reaction towards those reblogs came as somewhat of a surprise. Besides the marketing accounts’ praises towards Yuan Rui’s ‘IQ’, the bystanders seemed to really like seeing celebrities acting so down-to-earth like this. After the company’s online PR group finished their analysis, they believe that Yuan Rui’s image inside the tv program was consistent with his Weibo raffle reblogs. Considering the previous video incident, for the portion of his fans who found it unacceptable, maintaining his persistently foolish yet adorable image was actually a great benefit to his future development. Thus, those raffle reblogs remained.
Not long after she called Yuan Rui , she discovered that Yuan Rui had won a raffle. Big Vlogs with over 10 million fans already had a very high possibility of winning. The company’s PR already thought of this situation in advance and even mentioned a suggestion to Li LingLing.
“You can accept the prize.” Li LingLing said: “After reblogging Liang Xi’s Weibo in a bit, send another post sharing your success to your fans. A lot of people are waiting to see the follow-up.”
Yuan Rui: “Ah?”
Li LingLing instructed seriously and earnestly: “Don’t use your own Alipay to accept the prize. Use Zhao ZhengYi’s.”
Yuan Rui said excitedly: “Really? I can really accept it?”
Extremely disgusted, Li LingLing said: “Then remember to say you’re going to donate it. Just look at you, reblogging a raffle for 200 some yuan. Don’t you feel ashamed?”
“Okay, I’ll donate it!” Yuan Rui didn’t really prize the 200 some yuan anyways. The delight of winning trump everything. He explained happily and excitedly: “I have reblogged larger ones in the past, cellphones, ipads, AiWoChi Television set, and $1000 yuan big prizes., but I couldn’t win any. Feeling that I shouldn’t be too greedy, I started reblogging some small cash prizes and gifts.”
Li LingLing didn’t want to tell him the truth about his big Vlog’s high possibility of winning prizes. If he found out, he’d be reblogging endlessly in the future, what then?
Yuan Rui happily sent Zhao ZhengYi’s Alipay account number in a private DM to the artist running the raffle. Then, he felt like asking for the prize so directly didn’t seem very good. Therefore, he pondered on his word choice and then sent a ‘Hope your artwork will become better and better in the future. I’m rooting for you” to her.
At last, he went to look at Liang Xi’s Weibo, which had already sent the promo for the tv program. Yuan Rui clicked reblog, but then recalled that Li LingLing wanted him to act cute. He thought about it for the longest time, but couldn’t come up with anything, so he sent a message to Li LingLing asking: “What should I say while forwarding Liang Xi’s post? I don’t know how to act cute. Can I not do it?”
Li LingLing was just about to head to a meeting. She replied to him: “Just reply to Liang Xi. Don’t say too much. One or two sentences is enough.”
After she finished her meeting and opened her Weibo to take a look. Yuan Rui’s newest post was a reblog of the announcement of the raffle winner. He sent a string of emojis and said “Thank you, Ms.Blog Owner, and also thank you, 210k fan army. I will transfer the luck that everyone sent me to people in need of assistance.” Last, he posted a screenshot of a 23333 yuan donation via Weibo. She felt pretty satisfied with this. Then, she scrolled down and saw the second post that forwarded the promo of the tv program. Her expression instantly turned 囧囧 in dismay.
Yuan Rui’s reblog of Liang Xi’s promo post for the Chinese version of <> simply and concisely said: “Everything Liang-ge says is right.”
#Yuan Rui won a raffle 233# and #Everything Liang-ge says is right# entered the hot topic list one after the other.
The antis’ sour “still hugging Liang Xi’s big thighs”, “So rich yet only donating 20k” comments were submerged in the vast ocean of people’s 233.
The popular thread on TianYa discussing the worrying IQ of celebrities gained a sister column– <>. Just digging into Yuan Rui’s history reached 3 pages long and it wasn’t even finished.
Yuan Rui read undercover for quite awhile, but couldn’t help following the thread and defending himself. He spoke using data to support himself: “Yuan Rui is actually very ingenious. <> has a total of 10 episodes. He won twice alone and 3 times as part of a team.”
The thread owner replied to him swiftly: “Sorry sis, but bringing up Shiny Friends, I can only recall the episode where he screwed over the movie king. That famous … was indeed very ingenious 233.”
Another TianYa commenter replied saying: “And also his GIFs. The meme of his instantly dumbfounded expression is praised all over the world.”
“How can you forget the critical and historical question of ‘is the table longer or is he longer’!”
“The enamored drooling face while he followed after my Tomas hahaha.”
Yuan Rui’s reply was covered by a comment thread that grew longer and longer. He felt like his face was a bit swollen.
After returning home in the morning to change clothes, Zheng QiuYang went to his mom’s place again. He poured the preserved egg congee that Yuan Rui had him bring into a bowl and carried it to Mama Zheng.
Mama Zheng just finished washing her face and tying a ponytail. She took pretty good care of herself. Without closely examining her face, her figure was still slim and attractive like a young lady. Perhaps because she got enough sleep, today, her complexion looked much better than yesterday.
“This congee is not bad.” Mama Zheng drank half of the bowl and said: “The congee stores selling breakfast nowadays pour tons of salt inside. This one didn’t. The taste is nice. Where did you buy it? Do they do takeout?”
Zheng QiuYang said without batting an eye: “I didn’t buy it. I brought over from home.”
Mama Zheng pushed the bowl away and didn’t speak anymore.
Zheng QiuYang didn’t actively bring up Yuan Rui either and coaxed, saying: “Don’t get angry. Things are already like this. No matter how angry you get, it’s not like you can stuff those two little ones back inside. It’s better to first take good care of your health, then move onto the next step.”
Mama Zheng gave him a look and said: “What’s the next step?”
Zheng QiuYang thought to himself, of course it’s to draw a clear boundary with the scumbag, however he didn’t know how his mom thought about this, so he didn’t dare to say it out loud.
Mama Zheng said: “Are you thinking that this time, I’m definitely going to split with your dad?”
Zheng QiuYang understood her meaning and urged: “Mom, don’t act foolish now.”
Mama Zheng gave a cold scoff.
At noon, Yuan Rui sautéed himself a plate of hot and sour shredded potato. Zheng QiuYang actually returned.
“Is Auntie okay?” Yuan Rui asked him: “Did you eat already?”
Zheng QiuYang said: “She invited someone to a spa. I still haven’t eaten yet. What did you make?”
Yuan Rui, by himself, had originally planned to only eat this plate of diced potatoes with rice. Now he said: “How about I make two more dishes. There’s beef and pork chops. What do you want to eat?”
Zheng QiuYang took off his coat and went to wash his hands, saying: “Don’t bother. Stir fried tomatoes with scrambled eggs is good enough. Right now I’m so hungry, I can eat two big bowls of plain rice by itself.”
Yuan Rui nimbly went to stir fry a huge plate of tomatoes and scrambled eggs. Then he made a salad with small cucumbers. Red, yellow, and green. The three colors compliment each other. The food looked fresh and appetizing. He filled up two bowls with rice and then placed the diced potatoes which contained almost half a plate of peppers in front of himself.
Within a few bites, Zheng QiuYang shoved the entire bowl of rice in his mouth. Yuan Rui filled up another bowl for him. He finally started eating it slowly with the tomatoes and eggs.
Yuan Rui asked: “Auntie was in the mood to go to a spa, does that mean she finall“Got over what?” Zheng QiuYang sighed, saying: “She might have spent too much time on TianYa and now single-mindedly wants to become a Goddess of Vengeance.”
Yuan Rui: “……”
Zheng QiuYang said: “Do you know who she invited to the spa?”
He paused for the suspense before finally saying: “Zheng ShaoYang’s mom.”
Sure enough, Yuan Rui was shocked and said: “What are the two of them planning to do?”
Zheng QiuYang said: “I don’t know the details, but seeing her stance, most likely the two people are now on an united front to make my dad’s life hell.”
Yuan Rui imagined the various dog blooded grudges and dramas experience by the rich and powerful families and said: “What do you and your big brother think about this?”
Zheng QiuYang said exasperatedly: “What kind of thoughts can I have? It’s not like my mom listens to me. Zheng ShaoYang is probably the same. The biggest common ground we share is that we both listen to our moms, but he also found a wife that his mom doesn’t like.”
Yuan Rui felt a bit embarrassed and stressed: “Boyfriend, boyfriend!”
Zheng QiuYang pretended to be deaf and used the clean side of his chopstick to poke Yuan Rui’s face. He said with a smile: “And his wife even really likes my wife.”
y got over it?”
