Never Meeting Again In Our Next Life (Living Life Over) - Volume 1 (127)
Song Yan was sitting in a wheelchair with a laptop on his lap, which contained monitoring images from various angles within the community.
He stared intently at the maximized surveillance screen in the middle, chasing Xia Lin’s back for a moment. He didn’t notice that in a certain corner of the screen, Xia Liang and Zhou Shuo’s figure swept away.
He watched Xia Lin disappear outside the gate of the community and then gradually exhaled.
In front of him, a retro-style wall clock hung, shaking the pendulum regularly. Song Yan raised his head and watched the turning hands on the clock, quietly waiting for the disaster to come.
At 2:10 in the afternoon, Ke Mei called: “It’s almost time, how are your preparations there?”
“I’m ready.” Song Yan whispered.
Huaixin has already begun to deploy.
Before the other party’s voice fell, Song Yan felt the ground under the wheelchair tremble slightly, as if some invisible force spread from a distance.
Although he could not see it with the naked eye, he could feel a condensed and murderous breath from all directions sweep by. The sudden drop in air pressure forced him to breathe quickly, almost asphyxiated.
Song Yan pursed his lips and didn’t move. The voice of Ke Mei on the phone became intermittent because of the signal interference.
“Song Yan, the collision is about to… you follow me… countdown… four… two…”
Song Yan silently counted to one and then pressed the button on the remote control forcefully.
After taking a deep breath, a huge silver cone slowly rose on the patio on the third floor. The tower body rotated counterclockwise from slow to fast, making a “buzzing” sound.
Almost at the same time, countless silver sub-towers rose under the surface of all the green belts in the community. The towers moved in the same direction and speed.
Rotating at high speed, it resonates with the mother tower in the courtyard at Song Yan’s house. The buzzing sound is endless.
Not long after Xia Liang and Zhou Shuo entered the community, they were shocked by the sudden emergence of the silver cone towers.
They saw countless small drones rushing out of the tower in groups. They are arranged in an orderly manner while spreading hexagonal wings, densely and seamlessly connected together to form one side. A huge and strong metal shield is placed over the residential area, enclosing the entire residential area tightly.
“What is this?” Xia Liang looked up and muttered to himself.
Zhou Shuo quickly leaned over, stood behind him in a guarding posture, and said: “It looks like some kind of military defensive device.”
“How can militarized things appear in ordinary communities?”
“I’m not sure.” Before Zhou Shuo finished speaking, he heard a muffled sound above his head.
The two of them walked around, only to see a large part of the metal shield sag downward. There seems to be an invisible behemoth rolling towards the ground little by little
A new aircraft immediately opened its wings and quickly spliced and repaired the gap. However, this did not stop the pressing force from advancing, and soon, more parts of the shield surface were dented, broken, or even turned into metal powder during the squeezing.
At the same time, an infrasound wave from outside gradually penetrated in and resonated with the human body.
Xia Liang didn’t know what it was but he felt dizzy and almost deaf. He subconsciously covered his ears and wanted to say something but he couldn’t hear his voice at all.
“Master, let’s go!”
Although Zhou Shuo still couldn’t understand what happened, he had realized that it was very unsafe here and that he had to run towards the gate of the community with Xia Liang.
However, they didn’t go far when Xia Liang staggered and almost fell to the ground.
Zhou Shuo looked back and found that Xia Liang’s face was pale. His face was sweating, his pupils were out of focus, and his consciousness was on the verge of collapse.
At this time, he no longer cared about the distinction between master and servant and embraced Xia Liang in his arms.
Xia Liang felt Zhou Shuo’s chest vibrating as if Zhou Shuo was saying something loudly to him, but he could not hear anything, only a “buzzing” roar remained in his ears.
After turning, he fell on his back and laid down on Zhou Shuo’s arms. He was stupefied to see Zhou Shuo’s eyes in a daze and blood was constantly oozing out of his seven orifices. It looks terrible.
But Zhou Shuo didn’t seem to notice anything. He just desperately covered Xia Liang’s ears with both hands, trying to shield him from the deafening sound as much as possible.
After an unknown period of time, the infrasound gradually disappeared and was replaced by silence.
When Xia Liang opened his eyes, he found that the metal shield in the sky had disappeared somehow. The afternoon that was originally a blue sky turned into a starry night. There are many tall buildings around and there is a constant flow of people.
He and Zhou Shuo stood side by side in the crowd but they don’t have much sense of reality.
From time to time, strangely dressed men, women, and children pass by and cast weird glances at them. Some even point at them unceremoniously but they couldn’t hear any sound.
“Zhou Shuo,” Xia Liang tried, “Can you hear me?”
He couldn’t hear his own voice and Zhou Shuo didn’t even notice his question.
The fear in Xia Liang’s heart spread endlessly. He thought that he must have fallen into a dream, a real and weird nightmare.
(OMG! They have been assimilated to Du Lanze’s plane! Does this mean that their body’s dynamic would change? So excited to read about them in Volume 2)
