Never Meeting Again In Our Next Life (Living Life Over) - Volume 1 (13)
Chapter 13 A Twist of Fate
When he opened his eyes again, the ripples in Xia Lin’s heart had gradually subsided, until the water was clear.
Song Yan thought he hadn’t heard him and bumped him with his arm: “I’m asking you, what were you whispering to Zhou Shuo outside?”
Xia Lin looked at him lightly, “I need to report to you if I talk to my bodyguard?”
Song Yan choked hard.
Then he angrily threw his clothes on the bed, “Xia Lin, are you 𝓯𝓾𝓬𝓴𝓲𝓷𝓰 having gunpowder or something? You clearly weren’t like this before. Are you happy disliking me every now and then for fun?”
Xia Lin was silent, not intending to appease him any further.
Song Yan added, “My dad bought me two tickets for the ET concert. I originally wanted to ask you to go with me, but with your attitude, I’ll have to think about it.”
ET was a rock band that Song Yan liked a lot, and Xia Lin used to stay with Song Yan every day, so he naturally listened to a lot of their songs like that.
Song Yan thought that Xia Lin was also a fan of the band like himself, but in fact, Xia Lin didn’t like listening to rock too much. He even felt some headaches when the drums were dense.
And now Song Yan was holding ET concert tickets against him, which was just a bit funny.
“The concert is the night after tomorrow, I think,” Xia Lin said, “I have to attend tuition classes here during the day, so I can’t go back to B City at night. You can invite other classmates to go! I won’t be going.”
“You ah—” Song Yan didn’t expect Xia Lin to refuse so quickly and was so angry that he couldn’t even say anything.
Xia Lin did not want to argue with him unnecessarily and said, “Song Yan, I don’t want to fight with you, but I really don’t have much time lef. My current academic performance is still a long way short of the medical school admission mark, so I have to fight for time.”
Song Yan looked at him for a long time and then suddenly asked, “Xia Lin, are you determined to take the path of a school bully?”
Xia Lin didn’t answer, he felt that Song Yan had missed the point. He didn’t want to be a school bully so he could go to medical school, but Song Yan just didn’t understand.
But soon Song Yan nodded to himself, “Okay, you want to be a school bully, I support you. As I said, we are buddies, of course I should support your decision. And when you think about it, having a school bully buddy feels pretty awesome too, haha.”
Xia Lin was really impressed by how strange his brain worked.
Although he said he supported the idea, Song Yan was still tossing and turning in bed that night, unable to sleep. Every time he tossed and turned, he made a lot of noise.
Xia Lin, who was always a light sleeper, could not sleep at all because of his noise, so he could not help but yell in a low voice, “Song Yan, can you stop tossing and turning?”
“But I can’t sleep.” Song Yan’s voice sounded a bit aggrieved in the darkness, “I feel empty inside. I’ve been looking forward to ET’s concert for a long time. I planned to go with you a long time ago, because you’re the only person I know who likes ET as much as I do. If you don’t go, who else can I find? I can’t go alone, it’s so boring.”
Xia Lin was silent for a long time and said in a low voice, “You won’t feel lonely after you go.”
“What did you say?” Song Yan didn’t hear.
“Nothing.” Xia Lin flipped over and closed his eyes.
In his last life, it was at an ET concert that Xia Lin and Song Yan had met Yu Luotong, who was sitting in the next seat. From then on, the three of them had been entangled for years.
In this life, he could not stop the fateful encounter between those two, but at least he could change the course of his own life.
Not interfering, not getting involved, was his basic attitude towards this love affair between Song Yan and Yu Luotong in this life.
And he knew that after this concert, Song Yan would not cling to him as much as he did now, because his place in Song Yan’s heart would be taken over by Yu Luotong.
