Never Meeting Again In Our Next Life (Living Life Over) - Volume 1 (18)
Chapter 18: Skipping class
Xia Lin was standing far away and couldn’t hear what they were talking about, but he was able to guess that Yu Luotong had asked for leave from his evening study in order to go to the bar to work.
Naturally, he would not tell the class teacher the truth honestly, so the class teacher just treated his leave as an ordinary student being lazy.
In his previous life, Xia Lin played table tennis with Song Yan for half an hour during this activity session, so he did not see Yu Luotong asking the class teacher for leave and did not know about his part-time job.
Later on, Yu Luotong skipped the evening study and went to work in a bar as a waiter, and was brutally beaten up by a customer because he refused to be molested in the bar.
Song Yan was furious and went to see the man to argue with him, but the two sides got into a disagreement and got into a fight, and Song Yan was so aggressive that he beat him up so much that the other party was hospitalized.
The incident later reached the Principal and the school gave Song Yan a probationary punishment.
The incident was widely discussed at the time and caused quite a stir. It also left a very disgraceful mark on Song Yan’s resume and even affected his university entrance, and it was only after the Song family used their connections that his file was amended.
But since then, the Song family has had a hard time with Yu Luotong, and they have strongly opposed their relationship. The old head of the family had to intervene personally and force Yu Luotong to leave the country after a combination of hard and soft tactics.
But all this was in a previous life.
Now reality has changed because of Xia Lin’s thought, which has affected Song Yan’s and Yu Luotong’s lives.
When Song Yan heard Yu Luotong say he was going to work in a bar, he felt a bit uncomfortable.
He didn’t understand exactly why he was uncomfortable, he just thought that he couldn’t let Yu Luotong work alone in a place like that.
“You’re still underage, aren’t you,” Song Yan gave Yu Luotong a look, “is it okay to work in a place like a bar?”
“What does it matter,” Yu Luotong said, “My mother used to be an alcoholic companion, I followed her in and out of bars since I was young, I know the rules better than anyone.”
Song Yan was a little surprised, but at the same time sympathetic to Yu Luotong, from his words he could guess that his whole upbringing was much more complicated than that of his peers. But the full concern Yu Luotong showed made him afraid to show his sympathy too obviously for fear of hurting his self-esteem.
Xia Lin, on the other hand, was thinking about something else. He knew that Yu Luotong’s words were exaggerated. If he really understood these things as well as he said he did, he would not have been bullied in his last life.
And he knew that if Yu Luotong went to the bar tonight, history would definitely repeat itself and Song Yan would once again be disciplined by the school because of Yu Luotong.
As much as he wanted to be completely separate from Song Yan, it was hard for him to stand by and do nothing when he knew what kind of bad luck would befall him.
Just this once, he said to himself, as long as he helped this once and let Song Yan graduate without any problems, then he and Song Yan would never be involved again.
Song Yan looked at Yu Luotong’s back as he sneaked out of the school and muttered, “Xia Lin, I always feel a little uneasy…”
“Uneasy, then let’s follow and check it out.”
“Huh?” Song Yan turned his head to look at him unexpectedly, unable to believe that these words were coming out of Xia Lin’s mouth.
After spending this day together, no matter how nervous Song Yan was, he could see that Xia Lin was very cold towards Yu Luotong. He thought that Xia Lin couldn’t be bothered to look at Yu Luotong’s origins, but he didn’t expect him to say what he thought so easily.
“It’s true that we both still have the same heart!” Song Yan happily slapped Xia Lin on the back, “I was thinking the same thing!”
That night, Song Yan and Xia Lin skipped their evening study together, including, of course, their little follower Zhou Shuo.
Only after the three of them had slipped out of school did Song Yan suddenly remember that he didn’t know which bar Yu Luotong was working in.
He was about to call and ask, but Xia Lin stopped him, “Don’t ask, he may not want to tell you. I know where it is.”
“You know?” Song Yan felt incredulous, “How do you know?”
“Guess.” Xia Lin had a wooden face and was lying with his eyes open.
“Gues…” Song Yan had an I don’t know how to throw up at you look on his face.
“Trust me and follow me.” Xia Lin said, walking to the side of the road to stop a taxi.
Song Yan looked at Xia Lin’s back and then at Zhou Shuo and whispered, “Zhou Shuo, do you have any sense that your master has become a bit handsome lately.
That your master is a bit handsome lately?”
Zhou Shuo shot a glance at Song Yan and said seriously, “I’ve always felt…”
“Hmm.”
“The Second Young Master is more handsome than you.”
“Crap…” Song Yan was not happy, “What kind of aesthetics do you have, not that I’m blowing it, with a head like mine and these looks, where does he compare to me?”
Zhou Shuo looked at him with slight contempt, “You’re second to him.”
Song Yan was instantly annoyed, “He’s your second young master, can anybody be better than him?”
Zhou Shuo stopped talking and just silently glared back at his strong words with a blank stare.
Song Yan pinched his face with hatred, “Recently Xia Lin has been treating me with indifference, even you little brat are starting to disregard me now, right?
By now Xia Lin had already stopped a taxi in the distance and turned around to shout at them, “What are you two doing there, why don’t you come over quickly?”
“Song Yan, you don’t keep bullying him!”
“Hey hey, here it comes.” Song Yan hurriedly let go of his hand and ran over with a doggy face, “How dare I bully him, I’m just messing around with him!”
