Never Meeting Again In Our Next Life (Living Life Over) - Volume 1 (2)
Chapter 2 : White Moonlight
When Song Yan returned home, it was already the next afternoon.
He said he would give Xia Lin a day to pack up and get out, so he waited the full twenty-four hours before returning home.
Unlike before he left, the house was now clean and spotless. Even the shoes he had kicked around earlier had all been put away in the shoe rack, neatly arranged, one pair after another.
–It was just like the feeling he had every time he came home.
Song Yan’s first thought was, Has Xia Lin not left yet? Now that it was over, did he still want to shamelessly stay here?
He rushed into the bedroom to grab him, but there was no sign of Xia Lin.
He went to a few other rooms, but still there were none.
The two bedroom, one living room house in an ordinary residential area was not very large and it was easy to see if anyone was hiding in the house.
He went into the dressing room again and found the wardrobe half empty, all of Xia Lin’s clothes had disappeared.
Only then was he convinced that Xia Lin had really left.
He sighed silently and habitually lit a cigarette . He sat down with a cigarette in his hand and leaned against the locker door in the dressing room, his emotions too complicated to describe.
Before this, he had been holding a fire in his heart, so angry that he was on the verge of losing his mind. Because of Xia Lin’s deception, he had not been able to get Yu Luotong back in time. Those few years he had spent with Luotong had completely stripped them from each other’s world.
Therefore, he rightfully vented all his anger on Xia Lin, and he wanted Xia Lin to pay the price for this.
But having lived with Xia Lin for so many years, it would be a lie to say that he had no feelings at all.
When that slap came down, his heart throbbed with it.
But soon reason reminded him that he could never be soft, compromise or forgive in this matter.
He knew that Xia Lin loved him to the core and would give everything for him, so the greatest punishment for him would be to make him disappear from his life and never see him again.
And so he did. Xia Lin meekly left the house, taking all his clothes and belongings with him, leaving him(SY) with a sense of desolation.
In fact, in all honesty, as a long-term life partner, Xia Lin was perfectly qualified. He was able to take care of him in every way, he knew how to make love. He also took a great deal of pleasure, so much so that for years, Song Yan had almost no desire to go out for wild food. It was because this man at home had taken care of him in every way.
If it wasn’t for this incident, he might have just lived with Xia Lin for the rest of his life.
But it was in this matter that he could not forgive Xia Lin, because Yu Luotong was his bottom line. No one could cheat and play with him like that, not even Xia Lin.
He knew that Xia Lin’s departure would definitely make him a little uncomfortable, but it didn’t matter. Habits could be changed, and he could change getting used to Xia Lin’s presence to getting used to being without him.
He finished his cigarette in silence, then stood up and went to get mineral water from the fridge.
To his surprise, almost everything in the fridge was labelled, with shelf life and precautions for consumption written on the label.
For Xia Lin, who was so methodical and meticulous in his OCD, Song Yan was not surprised that he had made the fridge look like this.
If it were before, he would have laughed it off. But now, this kind of labeling and annotation of everything seems to him to be tantamount to self-imposed presence.
“Trying to get your feelings back by doing that? How dare you.” Song Yan sneered, tore off all the labels and threw them into the waste paper basket.
That night, Song Yan, who couldn’t cook, couldn’t have a decent dinner and had to go to the app to order takeaway.
Halfway through the takeaway, a message suddenly came in on WeChat: “Brother Yan, I’ve arrived in B City, are you free tonight, come out for a drink?”
The sender was Yu Luotong, who had just added him as a friend.
Song Yan’s eyes lit up and he couldn’t help but reply immediately: “Okay, where are you, send me your location.
He then grabbed his car keys and went out after he had eaten half of his takeaway and couldn’t be bothered to clean it up.
The location that Yu Luotong had sent him was a gay bar in the city centre, called [Midnight Flight].
The bar was basically known to the local community, and Song Yan and Xia Lin had been there several times before, so they knew their way around.
The bar owner was a gentleman, and the whole environment was very relaxed, quiet and peaceful.
As soon as Song Yan entered, he saw Yu Luotong sitting opposite the door, raising an arm and greeting him with a smile, “Brother Yan, here.”
He smiled and walked up quickly.
But before he could take a few steps, the smile on his face froze.
At Yu Luotong’s left hand, there was a tall, thin man of his age sitting in a very intimate position. The man was holding one of Yu Luotong’s hands in his palm, fondling it unconsciously and playing with it.
—This was not the kind of action that ordinary friends would do, could it be that this man was Luo Tong’s…
Song Yan shifted his gaze to that person’s face, and the other person also raised his eyes to meet his.
The moment their eyes touched, they both picked up the hostility from each other.
