Volume 2·Chapter 1 Illusion
When Xia Liang opened her eyes, she found herself in the bedroom of the Xia family’s old house. The door was closed and the floor-to-ceiling curtains were tightly covered.
Under the dim light, he saw himself sitting naked on the bed, half-covered by the thin quilt, messy clothes scattered on the floor, and the sluggish aura after a night of clouds and rain still lingered on the tip of his nose.
A tall man was kneeling in front of the bed with his head down. His face was not clearly visible, but it gave Xia Liang a very familiar feeling.
He was about to open his mouth to order the man to look up, when suddenly the scene in front of him flickered, and everyone and everything was instantly sucked into endless darkness.
The familiar cell phone ringtone rang in her ears. Xia Liang struggled to sit up, feeling light-headed and weak all over.
The ringing continued, and he instinctively searched for it for a moment before finding his cell phone on the sofa. It turned out to be an alarm, and the time showed 1:30 p.m.
Only then did he suddenly remember that he had just taken a nap in the office as usual. It only took half an hour from falling asleep to waking up.
The dark and messy scene just now seemed to be nothing more than an illusion he had while half asleep.
He didn’t pay too much attention to this matter, rubbed his sore temples, stood up and made himself a cup of freshly ground coffee, then returned to his desk and continued to deal with busy affairs.
At around four o’clock in the afternoon, when Zhou Shuo opened the door of the CEO’s office, he saw Xia Liang standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window making a phone call. His voice came intermittently: “…Box 207…See you tonight.” After that, he hung up the phone. .
Zhou Shuo has been Xia Liang’s assistant for three years. Xia Liang is not a person who shows his emotions casually, but Zhou Shuo can still roughly guess from the subtle changes in his tone based on his understanding of him in the past few years. Show the relationship between the other party and Xia Liang.
If Xia Liang’s social circle is divided according to the degree of closeness, it can be roughly divided into nine categories from close to close: strangers, competitors, potential customers, customers, major customers, business partners, relatives and friends, close friends, and family members.
As for the person on the other end of the phone, Zhou Shuo speculated that he should be more than a friend and not a family member.
Xia Liang put down her phone and turned around to see Zhou Shuo coming in. He sat down on the chair next to the desk and asked, “What’s the matter?”
Zhou Shuo was very tall. Even if Xia Liang stood up straight, he had to raise his head slightly to look at him. This made him feel a little uncomfortable, so he simply sat down and leaned on the back of the chair to look at him.
However, Zhou Shuo was a little distracted. Ever since he walked into this office, he could smell a faint sweet scent. It was very light at first, so light that he thought it was his illusion, but when Xia Liang took a step closer, The smell was very rich, with a hint of seductive and evil nature.
His heart beat a few times unconsciously, as if there was an invisible hand carelessly teasing the desire that had been restrained for many years.
His Adam’s apple rolled up and down, and then he took a step back with self-control.
”What?” Xia Liang noticed something was wrong with Zhou Shuo and frowned as he looked at him.
”It’s nothing.” Zhou Shuo immediately retracted his thoughts, forced himself to calm down, and opened WeChat on his mobile phone: “Just now, the secretary of Yinghe Group sent a photo of the daughter of the Sun family. Do you want to take a look?”
”That’s the one grandma mentioned on the phone last time?”
”Yes.”
Xia Liang glanced at it, noncommittal. After a while, he said: “It’s still the same as before. You go to the appointment first and mention my idea tactfully. If she doesn’t accept it, forget it. If she is willing to accept it, I will make another appointment with her.”
Zhou Shuo had already guessed that he would react like this, so he nodded and said, “Okay.”
Just as he turned to leave, Xia Liang stopped him again: “Try to come back before get off work in the afternoon, and drive me somewhere in the evening.”
Xia Liang didn’t always ask Zhou Shuo to follow him wherever he went. Sometimes even if he asked Zhou Shuo to follow him, he was used to driving by himself. If he asked Zhou Shuo to drive, it was because he was having a social event and wanted to drink.
Zhou Shuo looked at the time, nodded in agreement, and then left.
The author has something to say-
I originally planned to open a new book about the story of Zhou Shuo and Xia Liang, but because the plot lines of the two couples are too closely intertwined, it would not be very friendly to new readers if I open it alone. After much thought, I decided to continue writing it. My friends who were misled by me before to go to the new book are very sorry. I’m sorry for making your trip in vain.
PS: I will be very busy at work in the second half of the year. I originally wanted to save some manuscripts and publish them later. Now that I think about it, I will update them immediately. I may not update them as diligently as I did in the first volume, but I will try my best to update them when I have time.
