Ni Jiu (Intoxicated) - Chap 12

Shen Tingwei still has a fever, so he has no strength after taking a shower. Lian Jue didn’t have the leisure to carry him upstairs, so he simply threw him on the big bed in the guest room on the first floor.
Shen Tingwei’s eyelids were heavy, his head fell into the pillow and soon fell asleep.

Lian Jue pulled the quilt out from under him, his skin rubbed against the quilt surface twice and his thin back turned red.

A warm palm touched his forehead. The man straightened up, left a glass of lukewarm water. “Go to sleep”, turned and left without looking at him.
The slight sound of the door closing caused the whole body to fall into darkness and silence again. Before Shen Tingwei’s thoughts could disperse, his eyelids closed and his breathing became even and gentle after a while.
He then woke up again when a knock abruptly resounded on the door.
Shen Tingwei first felt the pale sky light penetrating his thin eyelids. He slowly opened his eyes and looked at the luxurious crystal lamp above his head for a moment in a trance.
The thick dark green linen curtains opened a slit. The warm morning light climbed over the window sill and sprinkled on the corner of the bed. Three knocks on the door has resounded again

“Mr. Shen, get up for breakfast.” The female voice outside the door answered politely.

After Lian Jue’s morning meeting, the driver’s missed call lay on his phone. He called back to ask about the situation.
