Ni Jiu (Intoxicated) - Chap 2
The indicator light across the zebra crossing turned green and the side of the girl’s umbrella bone brushed the man’s back.
Lian Jue stretched out his hand to bring the person under his umbrella, a strong drunken scent came to his nose, he invisibly pursed his lower lip, frowning and looking at the unsightly man in front of him.
“Uncomfortable?”
The man nodded slightly, then shook his head quickly.
The cuffs of Lian Jue’s coat were wrinkled by the man’s hand. He drew it back but the other party did not loosen it.
“Do you need to be taken to the hospital?”
The man still shook his head. He raised his eyes and looked at him. His mouth opened a little bit hard, his voice was thin and weak: “…Can you take me home?”
There was a long traffic on the road beside him and the sound of the whistle overwhelmed the man’s faint volume. Lian Jue could only vaguely hear him say ‘Go home’.
Suddenly, he asked, “Where is your home?”
The man shook his head again, his expression a little embarrassed: “No, it’s not my home.”
He wrinkled his eyebrows and frowned. He looked very uncomfortable. He closed his eyes and slowly pursed his lips. He said in difficulty: “Or the hotel, can you use your ID? It seems that there is a problem with my ID. They refused to open a room for me…”
Lian Jue raised his eyes and glanced at the express hotel across the road. He nodded and confirmed in a deep voice: “Don’t you really need to go to the hospital?”
“Not… the hospital.”
The man seemed to prove that he was not going to the hospital. He released Lian Jue’s arm and shook his body slightly before he stood firm in front of Lian Jue and repeated: “I don’t need to go to the hospital.”
He lowered his head only reaching Lian Jue’s chin. From the angle of Lian Jue’s eyes, he could just see his hot red back neck and thin shoulders. The white shirt on the man was soaked in rain, thin and transparent. Clearly depicts his slightly trembling butterfly bones.
He was shaking.
“I’m just a little dizzy…” The man lowered his eyes and rubbed his forehead lightly, his hoarse voice was a little annoying, “I seem to be drunk.”
Lian Jue wanted to send this person to the nearby express hotel but because the registering information did not match the occupant he was politely refused to check in by the hotel front desk.
The man curled up in the corner of the sofa by the window in the hotel lobby. He is drowsy with his side forehead against the cold glass window.
Lian Jue walked over and called him.
The man’s face was steamed red, his eyes were flushed and then he resounded “um”, which was the last response before he passed out.
The rain was heavy outside and the rainwater clashed on the glass windows with a dull sound. The rainwater flowing on the windows converged into alternate flowing chiffon. The neon lights outside the hotel reflected a warm yellow light and shadow in front of the window coating a soft light edge for the man’s sleepy face.
Lian Jue raised his eyes and scanned the wall clock on the wall. It was half past nine.
He turned his gaze back and glanced at the sleeping person on the sofa only to realize how much trouble he had just picked up for himself.
The driver arrived half an hour later. Lian Jue stood on the side of the road with his umbrella. The man beside him half leaning in his arms. It must be that the cold and clammy clothes don’t feel good when sticking to the body. The weather is cold at night and the person subconsciously closes to the chest of the person next to him delusionally drawing the temperature from the other person.
The driver pushed the door and got out of the car with an umbrella. He noticed that Lian Jue was holding a person in his arms. He was taken aback for a moment. He quickly nodded respectfully to Lian Jue: “Mr. Lian.”
Lian Jue sullen his face and pulled away the drunk who had been pumping into his arms and threw the man to the driver: “Send him to a hotel.”
The driver subconsciously took the person and was taken aback when he heard the words: “Which hotel?”
Lian Jue opened his sleeves and glanced at his watch: “Just find a five-star hotel and give him a room with my name. I have something else to deal with.”
As soon as he finished speaking, someone grabbed his wrist.
The man who was just drunk and delirious struggled to get up from the driver’s arms his slender eyes narrowed slightly and were misty. He was about to cry, “Don’t go, help. I……”
The driver stood aside in embarrassment and whispered: “Here, sir…”
Lian Jue narrowed his eyes slightly and looked at the man in front of him, trying to find the slightest trace of drunkenness from his face but he failed.
The phone in his pocket vibrated again. Lian Jue briefly closed his eyes, and pulled his wrist back from the one grabbing it, indifferently.
Lian Jue glanced at him lightly and handed the umbrella in his hand to the driver. He took out his mobile phone and answered the call: “What’s wrong?”
“Sir, are you coming back tonight?” Auntie said hesitantly on the other end of the phone, “Tongtong hasn’t slept yet and said he wants to wait for you to come back.”
Lian Jue frowned: “I still need to do something. Let him go to sleep.”
“He got a good grade in his exam today and I have been thinking of you coming back to praise him.” The aunt sighed helplessly, “As a result, I just made you angry again, now I am blaming myself.”
“I’m not angry.” Lian Jue said.
“Then do you have time now? I’ll ask Tongtong to come over and talk to you since I think he can hardly sleep tonight.”
Lian Jue glanced at the side. The man stood aside with his head drooped and helpless. His thin body trembling in the night wind with rain.
He responded with a low voice to the other end of the phone took the umbrella from the driver who was waiting next to him in the gap. Patiently waiting for his answer. He raised his jaw: “Send him away.”
The driver opened the door and said to the man politely: “Please.”
Lian Jue didn’t look at him again and walked a few steps aside with the umbrella.
The phone stopped for a while and there was a patter of footsteps. Then, soon someone answered the phone with an unsteady gasp in his voice: “Uncle Lian, Auntie said you are not angry.”
Lian Jue gave a faint “um” and corrected: “You will call me ‘Dad’ from now on.”
The opposite seemed to be embarrassed but he called out quickly: “Dad.”
This sound made Lian Jue’s tone slightly slower: “Why don’t you go to sleep?”
There was a moment of silence. The child gasped and asked cautiously: “…Aren’t you coming back?”
“I’ll be back later. If you are sleepy, go to bed first.”
The other side said “Okay” obediently, but his tone was reluctant. Lian Jue just pretended not to hear it and asked, “Is there anything else?”
“There is none left.”
“Well, then go to bed.”
Lian Jue was about to hang up but he was suddenly stopped.
“…Wait a minute, Dad, there’s one more thing.”
“What?”
“The papers issued today. The teacher said that the parents will sign a
their name and they will take it back to school tomorrow…”
“Sign it to Auntie.”
“……Oh.”
“Okay, I’m hanging up.” Lian Jue said, “You go to sleep.”
When Lian Jue hung up the phone, the driver behind him whispered, “Mr. Lian?”
He turned his head and saw that the two of them were still stuck in place, and asked in a deep voice, “Why are you still not leaving?”
The driver looked at the man next to him who was still hanging his head in embarrassment.
The man bit his pale lips, his nose was red with cold and his face was moist, not knowing whether it was tears or the rain blowing in the wind.
Lian Jue felt a little impatient. Heput his mobile phone away, and said to the man, “He will send you there.”
The man is still motionless.
After a moment of silence, Lian Jue looked away from him and asked the driver: “Which five-star hotel is the closest here?”
“Hilton, sir.” The driver replied quickly, “Your stuck in the car.”
“Yeah.” Lian Jue pulled him from driver away, forced the man into the car, closed the door, took out the car key from his pocket and handed it to the driver.
The driver was startled.
“My car is parked across the road. You drive my car back.”
The door of the room opened with a beep. Lian Jue led the person in and turned on the light. There is a warm yellow light on the head of the bed.
He stepped on the thick and soft carpet and walked in. He threw the person with little weight in his arms on to the bed.
The man fell into the big bed with two loose buttons. The shirt attached to his body was wrinkled slightly because of the fall on to mattress and the raised hem revealed a small white thin waist. He snorted uncomfortably his wet hair scattered all over the pillow and soon a small pool of dark water marks appeared on the surface of the pillow. His thick eyelashes trembled as his brows tightened and his slender legs wrapped in slacks were rubbing against each other. He is muttering something lowly.
Lian Jue stood blankly beside the bed his face was no longer gentle and his voice cooled down.
“Go ahead. What do you want to do?”
The man seemed to be frozen by his sudden chilling voice, shaking slightly and slowly propped himself up from the bed.
Lian Jue’s eyes were slightly narrowed his jaw line stretched sharply and he watched his movements condescendingly.
The man wanted to get out of bed but his legs became weak and he staggered down on the side of the bed as soon as he stepped on the ground. His cold white hands stubbornly dig into the mattress and his thin shoulder blades are slightly braced like a pair of beautiful and fragile butterflies.
He raised his head and looked at Lian Jue with wet eyes showing almost naked desire-thoughts but it was not longing. It somehow made Lian Jue read a bit of desperation from it.
Before Lian Jue understood the meaning of his expression. The man raised his waist rubbing his weak knees against the wet carpet under him crawling to reach Lian Jue’s feet.
He climbed on Lian Jue’s legs struggling to stand up. His cold hands stretched out to Lian Jue’s trousers and waist trembling to untie his belt.
“Gentleman……”
The man learned to call him just now, his voice couldn’t keep steady. He was out of control his husky and trembling voice contained pain.
“Give me……”
“Give me your pheromones.”
