Ni Jiu (Intoxicated) - Chap 43
The car stopped at the gate of the villa where Shen Tingwei lived. The driver was about to tell Lian Jue, but was stopped by Lin Chen in the co-pilot seat.
Lin Chen turned his head and looked at Shen Tingwei, who was still leaning on Lian Jue’s shoulder, and said softly, “Mr. Lian, will I come and pick you up later?”
Lian Jue turned his face slightly, glanced at Shen Tingwei, and said, “Leave later.”
Lin Chen understood what he meant. Lian Jue has been detained for nearly a month, and there are a lot of things to be dealt with. Although he has helped to deal with it recently, there are too many things, and it is inevitable that he will not be able to do it.
So he gave the driver a look, and the two got out of the car first.
After all, the two got married not long ago. As Lian Jue’s assistant, he naturally wouldn’t lose sight of him at this time, so he deliberately set aside time for Lian Jue and Shen Tingwei to “talk their hearts out to each other”.
After the door was closed, only Lian Jue and Shen Tingwei were left in the car.
There was no sound in the car, or just the sound of two people breathing.
Shen Tingwei was still leaning on Lian Jue’s shoulder and fell asleep, and his body was closer than before. When fast forwarding into the city, he even rubbed against Lian Jue’s body for a while, as if he was looking for a more comfortable position. Didn’t move.
Lian Jue took out his mobile phone and checked the time. It had been an hour and twenty-three minutes since Shen Tingwei came over. He turned his head and said to Shen Tingwei, “Wake up.”
He didn’t use the volume too high, realizing that it would not wake up Shen Tingwei, raised his voice, and called his name again: “Shen Tingwei.”
Shen Tingwei’s head moved slightly on his shoulder, and his lips seemed to move.
Since he was pregnant now, Lian Jue had a rare patience to wait for him to wake up. But he didn’t move for a long time. Lian Jue had to look at him again, wondering how he could sleep so soundly in the car.
Shen Tingwei’s mouth was slightly open, and he was sleepy. Lian Jue originally considered whether to reach out and push him, but for no reason noticed a small white spot on his drooping eyelashes. Lian Jue’s eyesight is not very good, he squinted his eyes and looked at it, and it felt like some cotton wool from the fabric, which may have fallen on when he was wearing clothes.
Lian Jue looked at him for a while, unexpectedly not thinking of derogatory words such as ‘unshaven’, only thought that Shen Tingwei was really a bit stupid.
He almost subconsciously raised his hand, trying to help him get rid of the lint, but Shen Tingwei opened his eyes at this moment.
Lian Jue and his drowsiness did not fade, and they looked at each other for a few seconds with slightly hazy eyes, raised half of their hands and retracted them.
Before Shen Ting opened his eyes, he bumped into Lian Jue’s squinted, focused eyes. He was stunned for a moment, and then he realized that he was leaning on Lian Jue’s shoulders. His eyes became clearer and he hurriedly sat up straight.
Before he could think of something to say, Lian Jue had already pushed open the car door and got out of the car.
Shen Ting didn’t raise his hand to rub his side face, which was warmed by Lian Jue’s body temperature, and let out a light breath before quickly getting out of the car and following him.
When he got to the house, Shen Tingwei said to him, “I’m sorry, Mr. Lian, I fell asleep.”
Lian Jue made a “hmm” sound, without stopping to talk to him, and went straight up to the second floor.
Shen Tingwei stood downstairs, a little annoyed at how he was able to sleep like this, and annoyed that he fell asleep when he fell asleep, and slept against others as a pillow all the way.
He looked at the back of Lian Jue who went upstairs without turning his head, wondering if Lian Jue was angry.
As soon as Lian Jue went up to the second floor, he smelled the faint fragrance in the air.
Knowing that he doesn’t like the smell of messes, the auntie who usually cleans at home rarely gets some scented fresheners at home. He didn’t know Shen Tingwei’s living habits, and in fact, he couldn’t be disgusted with the smell. He just thought that the smell might contain chemical ingredients, and he was going to tell Shen Tingwei not to use it later.
The more he walked towards the bedroom, the more obvious this smell became. When Lian Jue walked to the door of the room, he paused and picked up a not very conspicuous celadon vase from the cabinet beside his bedroom door.
There were a few dry jasmines in the vase, the petals were crumpled and curled together, and a few yellowed leaves were also wilted, but when they got close, the refreshing fragrance emanated from the stamens.
Although the flower failed, it added a vigorous and lively atmosphere to this empty house.
Lian Jue put the vase back in its place, and noticed the white table rug on the cabinet. The hand-woven pattern was very detailed and neat, with fluffy tassels hanging down from the side. It’s not the style that he or Lin Chen and others would choose.
He suddenly felt that Shen Tingwei was not as stupid as he thought, and more like someone who was very good at taking care of his life.
He went back to his room, took a shower, changed into clean clothes, and went downstairs after finishing himself.
The TV in the living room was on, and a very old romance movie was playing. When Lian Jue went to Chen’s house, he saw Yu Man sitting on the sofa with the puppy several times watching this show.
Shen Tingwei had already started to prepare lunch, and moved briskly in front of the dining table, humming the episode of the movie and TV drama that was playing on the TV in a low voice.
Several brightly colored plates were neatly placed on the kitchen table, the processed ingredients were lined up, the soup was stewed on the fire, and the rich fragrance wafted out of the whole space.
Shen Ting went downstairs without noticing Lian Jue, turned on the gas stove on the other side with his back to him, put a spoonful of olive oil in the frying pan, turned around to get the diced carrots while the oil was hot, and then noticed that he was standing Lianjue at the entrance of the stairs.
Lian Jue changed into less formal clothes, and her hair was briefly groomed, but it was not combed as usual. The well-fitting black shirt set off his tall and straight figure, and the buttons were not tied to the neckline, which reduced the innate coldness of his body a bit.
Shen Tingwei rarely saw Lian Jue dressed up like this, and when he was stunned, he realized that Lian Jue was also looking at him.
The lighting in the kitchen area is really good. At noon, the abundant sunlight spreads in evenly from the entire glass wall, and Shen Ting’s unsmooth hair is dyed into a warm-looking golden color.
The house is very big, the air-conditioning is not very low, and the temperature is at a temperature that makes people not feel too cold and just feels the sun.
The oil on the fire is slowly heating up, making a low sizzling sound. The TV drama shows the scene where the hero and heroine reunite after a long absence. The lines of you and me are bluntly integrated into the scene in front of you, but it is just right. All sorts of things come together to create a firework atmosphere that Lian Jue has almost never experienced.
Shen Tingwei still remembered what made Lian Jue angry, and tried to make up for it with the method he just thought of.
He blinked and looked at Lian Jue.
Shen Tingwei had never invited Lian Jue to share a meal, so Shen Tingwei slightly bent his eyes in order to suppress his nervousness, and asked him with a smile, “I’m making lunch, do you want to stay and eat together?”
Lian Jue didn’t say a word, looking at Shen Tingwei’s glowing eyes that seemed to be filled with anticipation across the partition made by the bar between the living room and the dining and kitchen area.
Probably because he didn’t answer for too long, Shen Tingwei had to call him again.
He just woke up like a dream, followed by an indescribable emotion.
He started to feel bad. From the picture in front of him to the smell in the air, he resisted everything in front of him like a conditioned reflex, and every second he stood here made him feel tormented and uncomfortable.
Lian Jue’s face became visibly ugly. Shen Ting didn’t think that he was still dissatisfied with the previous things, and felt at a loss. He turned off the fire, looked at Lian Jue crampedly, and explained, “…Mr. Lian, I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to.”
Lian Jue didn’t understand why he suddenly apologized, but at this moment, a strong thought came into his heart that he had never had before. He just wanted to leave quickly—even to “escape” a scene that didn’t belong to him.
Shen Ting didn’t see his dark face, he left in a hurry, and stood there for a long time at a loss for what to do.
Just leaning on his shoulder…does he really hate me that much?
