One Useless Rebirth - Chap 162
Chap 162
: The One And Only (4)
“He had a fight with others?” Di Qiuhe didn’t expect that, “how can it happen?” Di Xiasong always pretended to be a good boy and hardly get his own hands dirty. Now he actually came to blows?
Wang Boyi nodded and explained, “Yes, he did. It’s said that Liu Cefei cursed Di Chunhua and Qin Yunyu, daughter of Qin Rong, saying she would certainly cuckold her future husband like her aunt Qin Li. He also said that fortunately both his father and his brother formed no matrimonial ties with Qin family, otherwise Liu family will be done for.”
No wonder Di Xiasong couldn’t bear to hit him. Di Qiuhe narrowed his eyes and nodded, asking, “What’s the reaction of Di Bian?”
“He made no response at all.” answered Wang Boyi confused. Judging from Di Bian’s disposition, how could he had totally no reaction when he heard his son had a fight with his peer of similar birth? It’s quite strange.
“I guess so.” Di Qiuhe recalled the recently frequent contact between vice director Liu and Da Ze and responded with a sneer. Seeing Wang Boyi completely bewildered, he made a simple explanation, “Because his mind is all on restoring his relationship with Da Ze. When he got this done, Di Xiasong will definitely suffer.”
Wang Boyi suddenly saw the light and somehow felt sympathy for Di Xiasong. With a father who bent solely on profit and a mother totally unreliable, the poor boy involved himself in Huangdu and Qin family deeply and was destined to a problematic future.
They arrived at the hospital and picked Fan Da up to his house. The pair of grandpa and grandson who eventually identified each other sat in the same room. after a long silence, Fan Da opened his mouth, “are you certain that Lianxiu’s death have something to do with Di Bian?”
Di Qiuhe poured him a cup of tea, his eyes dropping, and kept touching the lucky beads on his wrist, answering, “No, it’s just my guess, but intuition told me that Mom’s death wasn’t as it looks, in which Di Bian and Qin Li both have a hand.”
Staring at his countenance, which closely resembled Lianxiu, Fan Da moved his fingers, paused for a while to have his mood boosted before he continued, “What did Lianxiu… die from?”
“Illness,” Di Qiuhe rubbed several shoe-shaped gold ingots under the beads, his voice a little lower, “After a trip with Di Bian, her heath began to fail for no reason… I was too young then to form memories. As for what happened specifically, Uncle Hu, you must know better than I.”
Fan Da clenched his fist and gestured for Hu Zhao who was ready to tell the story once again to stop, “Don’t repeat it. My mental condition is better now, and I don’t want to hear it for a second time.”
Hu Zhao muted and made an apology, “Uncle Fan, I’m really sorry for not taking care of Lianxiu.”
“It’s not your fault. It’s mine… mine.” Fan Da fell into silence after saying it.
Di Qiuhe looked up at him, wondering why he asked the question since he already learned about it, but he stopped when seeing his aged face. Again, he bowed and caressed the lucky beads, lost in a myriad of thoughts.
Ways of furniture arrangements here were based on Fan Da’s habits and preferences, which he in fact didn’t like. He wanted to go back, back to his and Little Puppy’s home. Still a lot of things were needed there, but Little Puppy kept busy, so he must help him with it before he had a job.
“Qiuhe.”
Di Qiuhe paused. He hid all the feelings and turned his eyes to the old man who called him.
“I’ll help deal with those things.” Fan Da stared at him with a loving but guilty look. Certainly, there’s some deep-hidden feelings inside. “All you need to do is to be happy and do whatever you like. As for other things, I’ll handle it.”
Di Qiuhe looked into his eyes and suddenly felt relieved.
Did Fan Da love his daughter? Sure. But things always happened against people’s wish.
Did Fan Da love his grandson? The answer was definitely yes, about which Di Qiuhe never doubted. But he was really stupid, stupid enough so that he had no idea how to show his love in a right way.
Compared with Fan Da, Little Puppy was really a cute and thoughtful one.
“I don’t need that.” Di Qiuhe shook his head while touching the beads on his wrist and smiled, “Grandpa, you can share responsibility for me, but have no need to take on everything. I’m a grown-up now and have someone to take care of. What I want is growing to maturity instead of being spoiled and overprotected.” Besides, Di Qiuhe hoped to be spoiled by Little Puppy only.
Stunned by his calling ‘Grandpa’, Fan Da went into a trance, and when he cleared his mind, he looked less tired and looked at Di Qiuhe, asking gently, “You fell in love with someone? Who is she? Is she a nice person?”
“It’s a very nice person whom you’ve met.” Speaking of He Bai, Di Qiuhe wore a gentler look and added, “You also asked me to bring him home for dinner.”
Fan Da was puzzled, while Hu Zhao greatly shocked, looking at him in amazement.
“I like He Bai, who I introduced to you. He once saved my life.” Di Qiuhe’s tone of voice was full of affection and pride. He didn’t mince words and looked directly into Fan Da’s eyes, saying, “Grandpa, he’ll be my only spouse in this life, so I hope you can like him, for he is really a nice person. Of course, it’s okay if you don’t understand us. I can return all the things you gave me before and keep away from you as far as possible.”
Fan Da was a little apprehensive about those seemingly threating words. Staring at the grandson he never looked after, Fan Da had no choice but to heave a sigh, his shoulders slowly drooping and his voice much lower, “As I said, I only want you to be happy… but I’m curious about why you would love him? Are you aware for a long time? ”
“No, it is him made me aware.” Di Qiuhe stroked the lucky beads on his wrist and smiled softly and proudly, “Plus he’s my life saver. Shouldn’t I give my heart to him in return for his kindness?”
Fan Da was shocked by his answer, and gradually changed into a gentle look when Lianxiu’s bright face before her wedding flashed through his mind. After a long while, he sighed, “Since you like him so much, how about taking him to me and having a meal together?”
Di Qiuhe loosened his lucky beads, smiled and nodded, “Great.”
