Shao Qun threw his coat on the table and then roughly pushed Li Chengxiu onto the narrow bed.
Scared, Li Chengxiu struggled against Shao Qun with both his hands and feet: “Shao Qun, what are you doing…”
Shao Qun pinched his cheek and said viciously: “When did you hook up with him? It wasn’t easy, since I destroyed your phone. So you had to go find him at some point. When? Huh? When?!”

Li Chengxiu felt that he might have died at that very moment.

He knew that something bad was about to happen on the other end of the phone when the call was hung up. However, he didn’t expect to see such a horrible scene when he arrived together with Adrian.
Li Shuo’s temperament had always been peaceful. He hadn’t experienced major emotional ups and downs in a long time, and he wasn’t one for great joys or great sorrows. But at that moment, he really had the urge to kill Shao Qun, that brute.
At the same time, his sympathy and pity for Li Chengxiu increased dramatically.
The moment Li Chengxiu saw Li Shuo, he covered his eyes with the back of his hand.
He could already imagine how he got to the hospital, even though he fainted right after Shao Qun left. How could he face anybody now?
Li Shuo stretched out his hand and stroked Li Chengxiu’s head. With his other hand he gently removed Li Chengxiu’s palm from his eyes. He gently leaned down, tenderly kissed his tears away and said softly: “It’s alright. I’m here, it’s alright.” Li Shuo was also about to cry. Seeing Li Chengxiu like this was painful.
Li Chengxiu held back the hoarse cries in his throat, but his tears kept running down his face. He grabbed Li Shuo’s hand with great strength, just like a drowning person would grab the only available driftwood. Only like this could he find some energy to live.
Li Shuo pressed his head into his arms and coaxed him softly: “Cry if you want to cry. Don’t hold back, Chengxiu. I will protect you, and I won’t let anyone hurt you ever again.”
Li Chengxiu whimpered in a low voice, and then cried for a long, long time in Li Shuo’s arms.
Adrian brought him fragrant porridge and some side dishes in the evening.
The three of them tacitly kept silent about Shao Qun and the reason why Li Chengxiu was in the hospital.
Li Shuo put his work at the accounting company on the backburner for a while, in order to take care of Li Chengxiu. He was gentle and considerate, and all the doctors and nurses in the hospital, old and young, were completely enamored.
Adrian also came to see him every day, often making self-deprecating jokes, but nothing could make Li Chengxiu smile.
Li Chengxiu became more and more silent.
He didn’t like to talk in the first place, and now he wouldn’t even open his mouth more than several times a day.
Adrian also brought Teacup to the hospital. Originally, the hospital didn’t allow any pet visitors. After being discovered, Adrian tried to trick the nurse. She was the motherly type, so she couldn’t resist seeing such a cute boy putting up a spoiled child act, and ended up turning a blind eye.

He stayed in the hospital for a week in total.

Li Shuo also helped him quit his job.

These days, Li Chengxiu’s life was suddenly very idle. All he did all day was watch TV in a daze while holding Teacup in his arms.
Li Shuo saw him like this and was worried and heartbroken.
