Special Effects Pheromone - Chap 22
After hanging up the phone, Yu Zhao sent Qu Jing his location. Gao Bohua, who had been watching Yu Zhao finish the call, approached with a charming smile, “Sister-in-law, who were you talking to?”
Yu Zhao replied, “It’s none of your business.”
With that, Yu Zhao sat down on a bench by the roadside. Gao Bohua also took a seat, adjusted the diamonds on his sleeves, and said, “The weather is really nice. It’s breezy and refreshing, perfect for a stroll.”
Yu Zhao found it strange, “Mr. Gao, may I ask what you want by following me?”
Gao Bohua smiled, “Family members should stay in touch.”
“Do you really want to stay in touch?” Yu Zhao asked.
Gao Bohua nodded, “Of course! Of course!”
Yu Zhao said, “Then when are you going to sign the contract?”
Gao Bohua laughed and said, “You’re straightforward!”
Then, Gao Bohua continued, “But, feelings are feelings, and business is business. Business should not be mixed with personal feelings…” Gao Bohua revealed a shrewd businessperson’s demeanor, “As for the price, we still need to discuss it further.”
Yu Zhao said, “Then we have nothing to stay in touch about.”
Gao Bohua smiled and said, “Let’s discuss it slowly! We will definitely sign a contract with you. But, as a family, you could give me a discount, right?”
The two of them were engaged in a heated discussion about the price. Despite the appearance of Yu Zhao, who seemed noble and aloof, holding the price line tightly, not giving an inch, and the sophisticated-looking Gao Bohua, who pursued Yu Zhao calling him sister-in-law, in reality, both were very shrewd when it came to controlling costs. The two of them were pulling and tugging at the topic, but it didn’t reach a resolution.
As they were talking, a black car pulled up in front, and the lights were turned on. The diamonds on Gao Bohua’s shirt sparkled under the car lights.
When the car door opened, Qu Jing walked out.
Gao Bohua stood up, smiling, “You are here too?”
Qu Jing gave him a half-smile, “Mr. Gao, hello?”
Yu Zhao also stood up from the bench, saying, “Mr. Qu, good evening.”
Qu Jing nodded at him and then pulled him over, “I’ll take you home.”
Gao Bohua smiled, “I thought Mr. Zhao, as an OMEGA, might feel uneasy here. I was planning to give him a ride. Now that you are here, that’s even better. Please take him.”
Qu Jing smiled and said, “ You are considerate.” With that, Qu Jing took Yu Zhao and got into the car.
After Yu Zhao got into the car, he rested his chin on his hand and said, “How did you get here so quickly? Were you nearby?”
Qu Jing smiled, “I sped here. Do you believe that?”
Yu Zhao touched his chin, non-committal.
Qu Jing also touched Yu Zhao’s chin and kissed him.
Yu Zhao gently pushed Qu Jing away, saying, “Stop it; my back is still sore.”
Qu Jing laughed and said, “I’m just kissing you, not insisting on doing that.”
Yu Zhao thought, “I don’t believe you.”
Qu Jing said, “Shall I take you home?”
Yu Zhao nodded, “Thank you, Mr. Qu.”
“Call me ‘husband.’”
“Husband.” Yu Zhao complied obediently.
Qu Jing smiled slyly.
Qu Jing continued, “Just now, Mr. Gao was right. Why would an OMEGA like you go to such a place alone? It’s not safe.”
“I was not alone,” Yu Zhao replied. “I was with Hua Yao.”
Qu Jing said, “That’s not one OMEGA; it’s two OMEGAs. It still doesn’t sound safe.”
Yu Zhao smiled and said, “The security here is okay.”
Qu Jing said lightly, “It’s not about security. I don’t like you going to such places.”
Yu Zhao was stunned; it was the first time he heard Qu Jing speak in such a tone.
After a while, Yu Zhao said, “Okay, I won’t go there anymore.”
The words sounded very stiff.
Yu Zhao made the commitment reluctantly as part of “satisfying customer needs.”
Qu Jing could sense that Yu Zhao was not very happy and squeezed his hand, saying, “I won’t go either.”
Feeling the warmth in Qu Jing’s palm, Yu Zhao wondered, “Why?”
“Married people need to be more restrained,” Qu Jing said. “As I mentioned, I’m not a casual person.”
You Zhao thought for a moment and said, “Neither am I.”
Qu Jing released Yu Zhao’s hand and continued driving.
Yu Zhao felt a sense of emptiness in his palm. Thinking about his father’s marriage and the marriages of some relatives in the family, they never prohibited extramarital affairs, let alone going to bars. As long as it didn’t involve property disputes, everyone was affectionate and harmonious—this was the type of marriage relationships Yu Zhao was familiar with: open in emotions, rigid in property.
Looking blankly at the road ahead through the car window, Yu Zhao couldn’t help but wonder: What kind of couple will Qu Jing and I become?
He vaguely felt that his marriage with Qu Jing might be different from those of the people he knew.
