Special Effects Pheromone - Chap 3
Yu Zhao had always been single, with no intention of marriage or having children. Many people in the company, including Xiao Qi, believed Yu Zhao was an advocate of being unmarried.
In reality, many financially capable OMEGAs were also advocates of being unmarried. Oftentimes, those who had struggled to reach the top of society were generally more ambitious than the average person and were unwilling to succumb to the traditional roles of an ALPHA, being roped into marriage and serving as a breeder, which was not a role they appreciated.
Therefore, Yu Zhao’s single status didn’t surprise anyone.
Furthermore, Yu Zhao always seemed indifferent, appearing aloof.
However, contrary to what people thought, Yu Zhao was not averse to marriage. He had been attentive to the idea of blind dates and had entrusted a highly qualified matchmaking agency to assist. Over the years, it wasn’t that he wasn’t willing; it was that he couldn’t find a suitable match.
His pheromones were quite unique, making it very difficult to find a match.
Moreover, he had a “reasonable” and “strict” additional condition — the match needed to be compatible in terms of social status.
Hua Yao had already parked the car by the roadside. He was dressed in a floral shirt, slim pants, and leather shoes adorned with gold chains, standing next to a red sports car. When he saw Yu Zhao, Hua Yao took off his aviator sunglasses and whistled.
Seeing Hua Yao’s gaudy appearance, Yu Zhao frowned slightly, hesitating for a few seconds if he should take another cab.
“Yu Zhao, come on!” Hua Yao shouted at him.
Yu Zhao walked over and got into the car.
Hua Yao took the driver’s seat and asked Yu Zhao, who was in the passenger’s seat, “Why didn’t you dress up for the blind date today?”
Yu Zhao smiled, “You look like you’re going on one.”
“Haha! Am I out of my mind to go on a blind date?” Hua Yao shook his head, “I haven’t had my fill of fun yet!”
Yu Zhao retorted, “Then, it seems I’m the one who’s out of my mind.”
Hua Yao chuckled, “Marriage suits someone as strict as you.”
“Does it?” Yu Zhao looked out of the window. He didn’t think he was that strict. But he never argued with people outside of work, so he chose not to say anything.
Hua Yao asked again, “Have you seen pictures of the person you’re meeting?”
“No,” Yu Zhao replied.
“You’re going even without seeing?” Hua Yao was astonished. “Isn’t it a waste of time if you don’t like the look?”
“The pheromones are matched.” Yu Zhao responded, “It’s impossible not to like.”
Hua Yao clicked his tongue, “Not necessarily!”
“Believe in science,” Yu Zhao said.
Annoyed, Hua Yao nodded twice, tapped the steering wheel, and said, “But even if the pheromones are matched, it only proves that you can get along, not that you’ll like each other.”
“Yes, but that’s not important,” Yu Zhao said indifferently. “The person is the founder of the Jingmen Group, the president and chairman of the board, and that’s enough.”
Helpless, Hua Yao said, “So, are you in a rush to get married for that reason?”
“OMEGAs get married for this reason, right?” Yu Zhao calmly and peacefully responded. “Is it enjoyable to become aroused, lose control, and become pregnant and give birth?”
Hua Yao thought for a while and then nodded, “Actually, I understand. Yu Yong has always relied on his OMEGA father’s background to bully you. If you find a wealthy family to support you, you won’t have to give in all the time… It’s a good idea.”
Hearing this, Yu Zhao felt surprisingly weary.
The car soon arrived at the appointed location.
The blind date was arranged in a luxurious hotel suite. Just like a regular blind date, the idea was for the two people to have a meal together and get to know each other.
Yu Zhao and Hua Yao stood in the elevator.
Hua Yao asked, “What’s the name of the ALPHA you’re having a blind date with?”
“Qu Jing,” Yu Zhao answered. “The founder of the Jingmen Group, president, and chairman of the board.”
Hua Yao, feeling irked, said, “You don’t need to emphasize his identity so many times.”
“Of course, I do,” Yu Zhao replied, “That’s the key.”
Even if Qu Jing wasn’t the founder of the Jingmen Group, the president, and chairman of the board, Yu Zhao wouldn’t have given him a second glance even if their pheromones were 100% compatible, let alone come to have a meal with him and make a commitment to have children in the future.
In this regard, Yu Zhao was an absolute utilitarian businessman.
“Ding” — the elevator door opened.
A man in a suit approached them gracefully, “Are you Mr. Zhao?”
This was Qu Jing.
However, when Qu Jing and Yu Zhao made eye contact, their hands froze in mid-air, prepared to shake each other’s.
Hua Yao was also shocked, “This… this…isn’t this…”
Qu Jing and Yu Zhao quickly recovered and shook hands with each other in a friendly manner.
“Mr. Qu,” Yu Zhao smiled faintly, “I’ve heard of you for a long time.”
“Mr. Zhao,” Qu Jing also smiled nonchalantly, “Your reputation precedes you, and it’s an honor to meet you for the first time.”
“Yes, our first meeting… It’s indeed a pleasure,” Yu Zhao emphasized once more.
The two understood each other tacitly as they walked into the private room, while Hua Yao was following behind, dazed, thinking, “Do they have amnesia? Have they forgotten?”
Qu Jing seated Yu Zhao, and there was nothing particularly unusual about the two. After some casual conversation, they parted ways.
After the meal, Hua Yao drove Yu Zhao back home. In the car, Yuu Zhao looked downcast in the passenger seat. Hua Yao, with a puzzled expression, asked, “Is it the ALPHA from yesterday?”
“It’s him,” Yu Zhao confirmed.
“Did he say anything?” Hua Yao asked, puzzled.
“Yes,” Yu Zhao closed his eyes, “He probably stood me up.”
“What?” Hua Yao didn’t understand, “Stood you up for what?”
Yu Zhao explained, “If you found out your blind date was in heat and tied up on a toilet the day before, what would you do?”
Hua Yao thought for a moment and answered, “I would think he was playing a big game and then happily invite him to a room?”
Yu Zhao said with a tinge of annoyance, “But he didn’t invite me to a room. Obviously, he only thought of the first half of what you said.”
