Strawberry Pop Pop Pop - Chap 104
Chap 104
Liang Fenying’s delicate face turned ice cold after hearing Liang Xie’s words. Her brow
furrowed with coldness.
Liang Xie’s heart was racing, and he calmly continued, “Do you know about the Lu family?
Lu Ran, is the only son of the CEO of the largest gaming company in country C. Lu Ran has
just taken over the family business, and he recently acquired the biggest project from our
company. If you target us, you’re targeting the Lu family.”
Liang Fenying knew about the Lu family, and if this were true, she couldn’t afford to harm
Liang Xie’s company.
Liang Xie added, “The contract we signed yesterday is already in effect.”
While the Lu family wasn’t as influential as the Liang family, they still had considerable
standing in the business world of country C. Moreover, Lu Ran’s alpha, Lin Zelin, was
someone not to be trifled with.
Of course, Liang Xie’s ability to connect with the Lu family was partly due to the quality of
his company’s projects and also thanks to Liang Caicai’s assistance.
Liang Caicai had established a good relationship with the CEO of Gu’s Group, Gu Yuanchen,
through his connection with Han Yang. Gu Yuanchen, in turn, was a relative of Lin Zelin.
Thus, they undoubtedly had some connection with the Lu family.
The complex network of relationships became surprisingly straightforward with Liang
Caicai’s efforts.
The two brothers had known about the recent changes in the Liang family for almost a year
through Xu Lin’s revelations. After learning of Liang Xie’s intentions, Liang Caicai had
prepared in advance for both their departure from the Liang family.
With everything in place, Liang Xie had nothing to fear.
He said, “I believe you should be aware that this is Lu Ran’s first project after taking over
the family business. Its success or failure carries significant meaning for him. If you want to
antagonize the Lu family, embarrassing the Gu family that introduced us, you can start by
targeting me.”
Liang Fenying’s lips twitched as she suppressed her anger.
“You are well-prepared,” she gritted her teeth, deeply disappointed in her usually reserved
son. Then, she sneered, “I underestimated you.”
She had lost this battle and didn’t intend to stay long.
In their verbal confrontation, she remained arrogant as ever. Between Liang Xie and her,
there was barely any of the mutual affection seen between a mother and son in ordinary
families.
“Like father, like son. You’re defying me for such a low-quality omega. One day, you’ll regret
it.” Her gaze fell on Liang Xie’s crippled legs, and with a cruel expression, she said
something she had never said before, “You’re just a waste who can only rely on others.”
Liang Xie had expected this much from Liang Fenying.
But what he didn’t expect was that Su Li, who had remained silent, couldn’t take it anymore
after hearing those words. Even though Liang Xie’s biological mother was treating him this
way, Su Li wouldn’t stand for it.
Because Liang Xie was someone Su Li held close to his heart. He treated Liang Xie with
great care and now, seeing him assaulted with a cup of tea and a single “waste” from Liang
Fenying had the same effect as two bombs exploding in Su Li’s ears.
He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Things had taken a turn for the worse.
Su Li was furious.
He turned to see Liang Xie in a disheveled state after the tea was thrown at him, and it tore
at his heart.
He had known Liang Xie for so long, and he had never seen him so embarrassed.
As Liang Fenying and her secretary were walking to the entrance of the apartment, Su Li
suddenly called out to her. It was the first time he had used such language in front of Liang
Xie, “Are you out of your mind?”
In an instant, the entire apartment fell silent, and you could have heard a pin drop.
Liang Fenying: “?”
Liang Xie: “?”
Including the secretary, they all thought they had misheard. Su Li, who seemed so meek
and agreeable, unexpectedly uttered a shocking statement.
“Have you ever seen a mother like you? Have you ever heard someone talk like that to their
own child nonetheless? Even a dog knows how to protect its young. You just threw a cup of
hot tea at him, what if it had burned him? Do you have several pounds of concrete in your
head? Can’t you exercise some restraint?”
Su Li was furious, and he angrily took off his coat and shoes. He even threw his backpack
into the mix.
Liang Fenying’s secretary quickly shielded her. Su Li loudly continued, “You’re upset that
I’ve been spending Liang Xie’s money, right? Let me tell you, even without these things,
we’d still have a great relationship! Even if he were reduced to poverty, I would still
support him! Stop thinking about Liang Xie; you should leave now.”
Su Li was on the verge of telling Liang Fenying to “get lost,” but he couldn’t bring himself to
do it because he suddenly realized that this apartment was under Liang Fenying’s name.
If she had ordered them to leave her apartment immediately, it would have been a disaster.
Fortunately, Liang Fenying didn’t do that.
Fifteen minutes later, the apartment was eerily silent, and the high heels at the entrance
had disappeared.
Liang Xie changed into clean clothes in the master bedroom on the first floor.
Su Li efficiently tossed the tea-soaked clothes into a laundry basket and then brought a
basin of hot water. He wrung out a warm towel and handed it to Liang Xie.
Liang Xie said, “Thank you,” but before he could wipe himself, he looked up and saw tears
welling up in Su Li’s eyes. The same Su Li who had been so fierce earlier now seemed
deflated.
“What’s wrong?” Liang Xie asked, reaching for Su Li’s hand, squeezing it in his palm, and
rubbing it to provide warmth. His comforting tone was especially soothing, causing shivers
down Su Li’s spine.
Unable to contain himself, Su Li shed a tear.
Liang Xie started to panic, holding onto Su Li’s hand and bending over. “Why are you
crying? Su Li, don’t scare me.”
Su Li knelt on the floor, embracing Liang Xie, resting his head against Liang Xie’s chest. Su
Li didn’t say a word, but his shoulders quivered slightly. Liang Xie seemed to understand
something. He gently patted Su Li’s back and spoke warmly, saying, “Don’t be afraid; she
can’t hurt you while I’m around.”
Su Li shook his head, sobbing quietly.
His crying wasn’t loud; it was a choked sound. Clutching Liang Xie’s clothes, he choked out
an explanation, “I’m not afraid of her; it’s just the way she talked about you. I’m angry…”
He was angry, and he was upset.
Liang Xie listened and gently lifted Su Li’s face. He used his thumb to wipe away the tears
from his eyes. Finally, Liang Xie pursed his lips, lowered his head, and kissed Su Li’s wet
cheek, saying, “I understand, but it’s already fine. Besides, didn’t you scold her for me just
now? We’re not angry anymore, okay?”
Su Li hugged him tightly and said, “When you were a child, she probably scolded you all the
time.” The more he thought about it, the more his heart ached. “Your temper is just too
good.”
“A good temper is a good thing. We won’t fight in the future,” Liang Xie’s words
undoubtedly meant he had accepted Su Li.
Su Li was always quick on the uptake in such matters, and he immediately understood
Liang Xie’s meaning. His ears turned slightly red as he said, “I won’t ever fight with you. You
know, I…” He chuckled, almost blowing a bubble from his nose. “I like you the most. I’ll
never fight with you for the rest of my life, okay?”
Liang Xie tightened his embrace, and for the first time in his life, he felt completely relaxed.
Su Li rarely experienced Liang Xie’s proactive embrace, and he sniffled and buried his head
in Liang Xie’s arms, nuzzling against his cotton candy scent.
