Strawberry Pop Pop Pop - Chap 53
Chap 53
Gu Nuan, who had been hiding in the background, couldn’t wait any longer. He had
managed to endure until the two crew members left. He quickly got up and rushed back to
the set to observe the interaction between Han Yang and He Yunchu.
He intended to observe them carefully to determine whether their relationship was based
on love or friendship!
Gu Nuan walked for a while and then started running.
However, luck wasn’t on his side as he accidentally bumped into someone. The person was
carrying two large bags of takeout, which were knocked to the ground by Gu Nuan.
Fortunately, the bags were securely sealed, and none of the food spilled, or it would have
been ruined.
Gu Nuan was dazed by the collision, and before even seeing the person’s face, he began
apologizing and even offered to pay for the damage.
“Gu Nuan?!” The other person suddenly exclaimed excitedly.
Gu Nuan raised his head, frowned, and hastily took two steps back. “Senior?!”
It turned out that Yu Yi, the senior who had pursued him relentlessly in the past, was now
dressed as a food delivery rider, wearing a motorcycle helmet and grinning with
excitement. “What a coincidence to run into you here!”
They say fate is destined, but Yu Yi felt that his fate with Gu Nuan might not be over.
“Senior, what are you doing here?” Gu Nuan remembered that outsiders weren’t allowed in
this area.
“I’m working nearby, delivering food regularly. There’s a big celebrity here who loves our
grilled chicken rice. Since I come here so often, the celebrity’s manager said I could come in
directly.” Yu Yi, the typical cheerful guy, had a radiant smile that almost blinded Gu Nuan.
After checking the two bags of takeout to ensure they were intact, Yu Yi continued, “I made
a mistake today and took the wrong path. I was about to turn back when I bumped into
you.” He blushed slightly and lowered his head. “I’m quite happy to see you again, Gu Nuan.
It’s been a while.”
It felt strangely nostalgic.
Gu Nuan wondered, “It really has been a while.”
Yu Yi blushed even more at this misunderstanding. Gu Nuan had misinterpreted
previously; Yu Yi hadn’t given up on pursuing him entirely. It was just that he had been too
intense in his pursuit, spending all his savings and had to pick up more part-time jobs.
Yu Yi came from a financially difficult background, and since high school, he had been
working part-time during holidays to cover his tuition and living expenses.
However, he was confident that pursuing someone wasn’t a financial issue, and he could
simply work more part-time jobs. During his absence, he had put in extra effort to work
multiple jobs.
Just like Gu Nuan’s relentless pursuit of Han Yang, Yu Yi was equally persistent in pursuing
Gu Nuan.
In a way, they were similar, and if they ever communicated properly, they might even share
experiences.
…
Meanwhile, at the filming location.
Han Yang had finally successfully completed this scene, and it had turned out very well.
Both He Yunchu and the director were perfectionists, and working with them meant that
even supporting actors had to go through some hardships. Sometimes, there were
newcomers forcefully placed in the crew, as they were being promoted by the investors.
However, due to poor acting or arrogant attitudes, they often received He Yunchu’s harsh
criticism.
However, He Yunchu’s strict demands had surprisingly turned out to be the best guidance
for Han Yang. As time went on, his attitude toward He Yunchu began to change, and the two
of them became good friends.
He Yunchu had a special admiration for Han Yang and told his manager privately, “This guy
isn’t suitable for dating me. He might be a big star one day, and I won’t be able to keep up.”
The manager was speechless. “Come on, he’s just not interested in you at all!”
He Yunchu wanted to sew his manager’s mouth shut.
He took a look at Han Yang, who was sitting on a resting chair, touching up his makeup. He
thought Han Yang, the handsome Alpha, always looked charming. He was about to call out
to Han Yang for a chat when Han Yang’s phone suddenly rang urgently.
Han Yang glanced at the caller ID and his expression turned serious. He quickly walked
away from the crowd.
Since there was a beautiful man to look at, He Yunchu idly sipped his coffee and propped up
his chin. “What’s for lunch today?”
The manager replied, “Braised spare ribs set meal.”
He Yunchu complained, “Why do we eat spare ribs every day on this set? Aren’t we tired of
it? Order a grilled chicken rice for me, and also order for a few newcomers and crew
members.” He emphasized, “Make sure to choose from that delivery service with the
handsome riders.”
“It’s already been ordered; they should be arriving soon.”
“You’re becoming more considerate.” He Yunchu sat back comfortably, looking forward to
it. “Why hasn’t the cute delivery guy arrived yet? He’s an Alpha, you know.”
“..Are you trying to flirt with the delivery guy too?”
“What’s wrong with admiring handsome guys?”
On the other side, Han Yang answered the phone call.
It was a call from Village Chief Li, who spoke in a local dialect, “Wawa, your dad climbed
over the wall again last night and hurt his leg. His leg wasn’t good to begin with, and now
it’s worse…”
Han Yang calmly asked, “Is he able to walk?”
“He can still walk, but he’s limping even more now.”
Han Yang felt very disappointed, but he also realized he shouldn’t be too impatient. “I
understand. I’ll transfer the medical expenses to your account.”
“No need, no need. It didn’t cost much. He’s just lying in bed moaning and refusing to eat,
saying he wants to see you. He says if he can’t see you, he’d rather starve himself. I was
thinking, if you’re not too busy… should you come back and check on him?” Village Chief Li
was also concerned about the fact that Han Yang was wearing himself out, “I don’t think he
was doing well these past few years in prison.”
In harsh words, he was telling Han Yang that his father’s health was deteriorating, and he
might not have many years left.
Village Chief Li wanted them to have a father-son reunion at least once.
But Han Yang couldn’t wait for his father to die sooner.
He replied emotionlessly, “He’s afraid of death and terrified of it. You can just leave the food
at his bedside, and he’ll eat when he gets hungry. His leg is an old issue that can’t be
treated. You don’t need to worry too much.” Han Yang glanced at the sky; it was almost
noon. “I won’t be coming back; I’m busy with work.”
Han Yang’s words were subtle, and outsiders wouldn’t be able to discern their meaning.
But Village Chief Li understood. After several phone calls, he had completely understood
that Han Yang wanted him to stop interfering.
He had deliberately placed Han Yang’s father in this remote location, hoping that Han Yang
would let his father ruin himself. They say that those who do too many bad things in their
youth will face consequences when they grow old. Unexpectedly, Han Yang’s father’s
consequences had come in the form of Han Yang himself, the child he had forced Li Li to
give birth to all those years ago.
Village Chief Li shook his head; there was nothing more he could do. “Alright then.”
“If the money isn’t enough, I’ll find a way to add more.”
Village Chief Li hurriedly said, “You gave a lot of money last time; it even provided jobs for
several kids in the village. Wawa, you’re working hard to earn money outside, so try to save
some for yourself.”
Han Yang nodded. “Thank you.”
Village Chief Li was afraid of disturbing Han Yang’s work, so he urged and hung up the
phone.
Han Yang lowered his hand holding the phone and let out a sigh of relief. He rubbed his
temples, looking exhausted.
These past few days, he had been getting up before three in the morning to do makeup and
shoot scenes. He was always busy until noon before he could even have a sip of water or a
bite to eat.
Today was no different; he hadn’t had a drop of water yet.
Han Yang felt dizzy and his head was pounding, so he wanted to go to the restroom and
wash his face. But as he walked there, he realized he was still wearing makeup and couldn’t
wash his face as the scenes weren’t over.
Out of habit, he checked his phone but still didn’t see any messages from Gu Nuan.
However, there were a few messages from Ji Mu, mostly asking how he was doing lately,
whether he had been eating on time, and whether he had been getting enough sleep.
Just like an ordinary parent, Ji Mu was asking very common questions.
Whenever he had time, Han Yang would reply to each of them seriously.
Naturally, there was also the message Ji Mu had sent earlier today: “[Don’t put too much
pressure on yourself. If there’s anything, remember to come home and discuss it with me
and Uncle Gu. We’re not short on money at home, so if anyone over there is causing you
trouble, you must let us know.]”
Ji Mu rarely sent messages like this.
Han Yang knew that Ji Mu was sensitive, and after the incident with Han Yongnian, the Gu
family wouldn’t overlook Han Yongnian’s release from prison. Han Yang thought that Ji Mu
must know what he was up to.
At the moment, he was handling Han Yongnian’s situation discreetly, without causing the
Gu family any worry. But he also had no intention of continuing to keep it a secret from Ji
Mu and Gu Yuanchen.
So, Han Yang replied to Ji Mu: “[After I finish filming my scenes, I’ll come home for a visit.
There’s something I need to tell you and Uncle Gu.]” After sending the message, Han Yang’s
fingertip hovered over the chat box named “[Gu Nuan].”
He stood there for a while, then put away his phone, turned around, and headed back.
After taking only a couple of steps, he unexpectedly heard Gu Nuan’s voice not far away.
His body stiffened for a moment, thinking it might be his longing causing him to have
auditory hallucinations. However, the voice was getting closer and didn’t sound fake.
Han Yang followed the sound and indeed saw Gu Nuan.
Not only that, he also saw Yu Yi by Gu Nuan’s side. His memory was good, and he hadn’t
forgotten who Yu Yi was. He remembered that Gu Nuan had once gone to great lengths to
avoid this Alpha, to the point where he couldn’t even enter the dormitory building.
But now, these two people were walking together, chatting and laughing.
