Strawberry Pop Pop Pop - Chap 67
Chap 67
In the living room, Gu Nuan, who had stayed for dinner, was chatting with Su Li’s mother,
Su Ling.
Su Ling held Gu Nuan’s hand and kept praising him, saying how handsome Gu Nuan was.
She even claimed that he and Han Yang were a perfect match, born for each other, and she
showered him with compliments.
Su Li’s father, in the kitchen preparing dinner, couldn’t bear to listen any longer. He said,
“Why don’t you come and help me with the vegetables? Don’t annoy our Xiao Nuan!”
Su Ling replied, “Don’t worry, Xiao Nuan has a good temper. He’s nothing like you and your
son, who disappear without saying much. Anyway, I wanted to ask, Xiao Nuan, if you
happen to know any eligible Alpha around you, please introduce them to our Su Li. He’s
always playing games, not good for his eyes. If he’s in a relationship, he’ll go out more…”
As she continued talking, Su Li interrupted her bluntly, “Mom, do you think Gu Nuan is a
matchmaker?” He then pulled Gu Nuan away to his room and closed the door behind them.
A loud “bang” came from the door as Su Li accidentally slammed it shut.
Outside the door, Su Ling expressed her frustration, “This child’s temper is getting worse!”
Su Li shouted, “Sorry…”
He regretfully said, “This door…”
Gu Nuan was puzzled; it was only now that he realized Su Li hadn’t even informed his
parents about his relationship.
Understanding what Gu Nuan was thinking, Su Li looked at him with a helpless expression,
“Do you think my family is as open-minded as yours? My parents are quite conservative
and overprotective. Right now, I can’t even meet Liang Xie in person. How am I supposed to
tell my parents? They’ll definitely think online relationships are unreliable and scold me if I
tell them…”
And online relationships were indeed often unreliable. In case he encountered a scammer,
Su Li would be in big trouble.
Gu Nuan harbored doubts about Liang Xie’s intentions and worried that Su Li might be
deceived. “What’s his deal? Why does he keep avoiding meeting you?”
Su Li lay down on his bed, looking distressed as he said, “I invited him to watch a movie
together just now, but he said he’s busy again. Just wait, tomorrow, he’ll definitely send me
some gift. But I’m not dating him for his gifts…”
In Su Li’s room, there were various expensive game figurines, all gifts from Liang Xie.
Every time Liang Xie declined Su Li’s invitation, he would send Su Li a gift. It used to be
figurines, but now it was luxury watches or other valuable items.
Su Li had grown up in an ordinary family with limited pocket money, so he had always been
frugal. Suddenly, he was in a relationship with someone who seemed like an ATM. He was
finding it hard to adapt. Initially, he had been extremely happy to receive these gifts, as he
had never received any gifts from a boyfriend before.
However, over time, he began to resent receiving gifts because each gift represented Liang
Xie’s rejection.
Seeing Su Li so upset, Gu Nuan couldn’t bring himself to say anything harsh. Instead, he
comforted him, “Maybe Liang Xie is really busy tomorrow. Try again next time. But when
you meet, make sure to send me your location and a message every 20 minutes.”
Su Li replied with frustration, “I won’t even get the chance to send messages. Whenever I
ask him to meet, he’s always busy.”
He was becoming increasingly dissatisfied with just video calls and online chats; he wanted
to meet Liang Xie in person. This desire had grown stronger after seeing Gu Nuan
immersed in his sweet relationship with Han Yang.
Su Li didn’t know what to do. He sighed, “I’m not asking for much, I just want to see him. If
he finds it inconvenient, I can even just watch him from a distance. If this continues, I’ll
start to doubt whether he even wants to have a real relationship with me.”
He was frustrated, “Where have you heard of a long-distance relationship that hasn’t seen
each other in person for this long?”
Gu Nuan tried to calm him down, “Actually, there might be a way for you to see him. We just
don’t know if it will work.”
Su Li asked eagerly, “What way?”
“I think he’s been avoiding meeting you for a reason,” Gu Nuan suggested. “So, tell him that
you have to attend a debate competition in another province the day after tomorrow, and
you can’t miss it.”
Su Li didn’t understand the purpose but followed Gu Nuan’s advice.
Then, Gu Nuan asked Su Li to send Liang Xie a message with a particularly plaintive tone,
“Can we make plans to watch a movie together this month? Have you been busy the entire
month again? You’ve rejected me many times…”
After sending the message, Gu Nuan couldn’t guarantee if it would work, but he had a
feeling. “If he says he’s only free the day after tomorrow, it’s probably not because he’s
actually busy.”
Sure enough, Liang Xie replied apologetically, “I’m only free the day after tomorrow this
month. I’m sorry.”
Su Li felt a pang of disappointment and helplessness. “Forget it, don’t bother. He doesn’t
want to see me anyway!”
However, Gu Nuan disagreed, “No, this is too strange. You’re in a relationship, why should
he avoid you and keep dragging it out?”
Gu Nuan then suggested a plan. He lowered his head to fiddle with his phone and then sent
Su Li two QR codes for movie tickets. “Give him one of the ticket codes and say it’s a movie
ticket you bought for him. Express the hope that he can watch this movie to make it easier
for both of you to discuss your thoughts afterward. Didn’t you say he really likes movies
directed by Xia Zhou Yu? Since he’s free the day after tomorrow, he should be able to make
it.”
Su Li quickly understood Gu Nuan’s idea, “Gu Nuan, how did you come up with this idea?”
“My brother came home last month, and when I helped him with his lines, there was a
similar plot.” Gu Nuan held Su Li’s hand and said, “Follow my instructions for now. If you
get to see Liang Xie, I’ll tell you all about how talented my brother is and how absorbed I
was when helping him with his lines!”
Su Li swallowed hard and said, “Fine, if I really get to see Liang Xie, I’ll pester you for more
lovey-dovey stories!”
Gu Nuan was delighted, he said, “I’ve booked almost the entire theater, except for the two
front-row seats designated for disabled people. It’s probably just the two of you in the
whole theater.”
“Gu Nuan…”
Su Li was deeply moved, as Gu Nuan was willing to spend so much money for him, “You’re
spending too much on me.”
“It’s okay, my grandpa gave me a hundred thousand yuan in pocket money last month
when he returned to the country. He told me to book a few theaters as I wished.”
Su Li was momentarily speechless.
While Su Li sent the ticket code to Liang Xie, in a luxury apartment in the city center of City
C, a handsome and cold-looking Alpha sat in a dimly lit room and slowly opened the QR
code on his phone.
Shortly after, he received a message from “Su Li.”
Su Li: [I’ve already bought the ticket!]
Then, he added a message with a tone of disappointment, [If you don’t have time to go,
please let me know. I’ll give the ticket to someone else; otherwise, it would be a waste.]
Liang Xie furrowed his brows and deleted the rejection he had just typed. He couldn’t make
up his mind on how to respond.
Outside the room, the housekeeper, Ms. Zhang, politely said, “Mr. Liang, Mr. Liang is here to
see you.”
After receiving his approval, Ms. Zhang opened the door and turned on the lights. She
approached him and grabbed the handles of the wheelchair he was sitting in. “I’ll push you
to the living room.”
Liang Xie held his phone in his hand and nodded in silence.
In the living room, the so-called Mr. Liang, who was actually the CEO of the company Han
Yang worked for—Mr. Liang, looked at Liang Xie and raised an eyebrow. In a domineering
tone, he said, “Brother, I’ve taken time out of my busy schedule to visit you, and you’re
giving me a cold shoulder?”
Liang Xie heard this and called out Lao Liang’s real name, “Liang Caicai, do you have
something to talk to me about?”
