Strawberry Pop Pop Pop - Chap 89
Chap 89
Before Su Li had a chance to react, Su Ling had already packed his luggage and cheerfully
sent him off in the Gu family driver’s car. “Xiao Nuan is really concerned about you, even on
a trip.”
“What’s that? It’s obvious that he wants to go and find…”
Su Li had only said half of what he wanted when Gu Nuan covered his mouth with his hand.
“Aunt Su, Su Li and I have been good friends since childhood. I’ll always think of him in the
future!”
Su Li was silently screaming in his heart, wondering what good thing chasing Han Yang
could be for him!
“Alright then,” Su Ling couldn’t stop smiling, completely taken with Gu Nuan. She instructed
Su Li, “It’s a good thing you had your passport done earlier, and now it’s coming in handy.
When you get to H country, you must take good care of Xiao Nuan.”
“I’ll be fine even if it’s my first time there. He’s the one who should be taking care of me,” Su
Li couldn’t be bothered and started messaging Liang Xie.
Su Ling was displeased. “You, kid…” She thought to herself, “Gu’s family is paying for your
overseas trip, and you can’t even say a few polite words!”
She took a quick look at Su Li’s phone but couldn’t see what he was chatting about. “You’re
always on your phone. Are you in a relationship?”
“…”
Su Ling thought something was off; Su Li would normally be jumping up and down,
shouting that he’s not dating anyone. But today, he was strangely silent, and Su Ling sensed
that something was wrong. She wanted to ask more but it was Gu Nuan who spoke up first.
“Aunt Su, we need to get to the airport quickly! Goodbye!”
Gu Nuan told the driver, “let’s go, uncle Zhang.”
Uncle Zhang immediately rolled up the car windows.
When the car had gone quite far, Gu Nuan asked Su Li, “Do you plan to keep hiding it from
Aunt Su?”
Su Li hesitated in replying to a message and said, “If she finds out, Liang Xie will have a
hard time. I’ll tell her when I become financially independent.”
Because of Liang Xie’s situation, Gu Nuan decided not to ask further questions, so Su Li was
spared from thinking too much.
The drive to the airport wasn’t long, and the uncle Zhang, quickly dropped them off. “Young
Master, when you’re over there, please take good care of yourself. After you arrive in H
country, Mr. Han’s people will be at the airport to pick you up.”
The “Mr. Han” uncle Zhang was referring to was Gu Nuan’s grandfather, Han Sen. Su Li only
realized then that Gu Nuan’s grandfather was from H country and had a different last name
from Ji Mu.
“Got it. I’ve already contacted my grandfather,” Gu Nuan replied.
After uncle Zhang left, Su Li couldn’t help but ask, “Gu Nuan, your dad is from H country?”
“No, my dad grew up there from a young age, but he’s not actually from there. But my
grandfather is indeed from H country. He’s like a father to my dad, even though they’re not
related by blood.”
Gu Nuan didn’t have much knowledge about the previous generation, but he remembered
that when he was a child, he often visited his grandfather, Han Sen, in H country with Ji Mu
and Gu Yuanchen.
Due to various personal reasons, Gu Nuan hadn’t been to H country for a long time.
Occasionally, Han Sen would come to visit him in C country, and every time he brought him
expensive gifts.
“My grandfather is a very kind person. Every time I see him, he’s always smiling. Su Li,
don’t worry, staying at his place will be much more comfortable than a hotel.”
From a young age, Gu Nuan had a great fondness for his grandfather, who doted on him
excessively.
In his description, Han Sen immediately formed a picture of a kind and friendly old man in
Su Li’s mind.
Su Li nodded and said, “I’m fine with staying anywhere.”
Before getting on the plane, Su Li received a call from Liang Xie.
Liang Xie’s words were few, just asking about Su Li’s flight and reminding him to be safe.
Fidgeting, Su Li said, “You repeated the same thing several times yesterday.”
Liang Xie touched his phone, hesitating for a moment before lowering his voice, “I put a
card in your bag yesterday with your birthday as the password. Buy whatever you like
when you’re traveling; don’t skimp on anything. When you get back let me know; I’ll miss
you.”
“…”
“Su Li?”
“I got it! I… I’ll miss you too,” Su Li replied, unable to hide a small smile, before hanging up
the phone. While Gu Nuan was in the restroom, Su Li dug out the card from his bag. After a
careful examination, he stored it in a separate compartment, not planning to use it.
Closing the compartment’s zipper, Su Li muttered to himself, “Why is he always giving me
money? I don’t want his money.”
He said, “It would be better if he were more proactive in other ways.”
Unlike Gu Nuan’s sweet and harmonious relationship, Su Li’s love life always seemed to
lack something. He and Liang Xie were pure in their affection, often just holding hands and
occasionally giving a chaste kiss on the cheek. Their interactions were almost always
initiated by Su Li himself, and he couldn’t help but feel that Liang Xie was unwilling to be
close to him.
But Su Li was also smart, and he quickly understood that Liang Xie’s condition was a
significant factor. Every time Su Li initiated contact, it was with Liang Xie’s best interests in
mind.
In today’s case, he decided to accompany Gu Nuan to H country for a week, mainly to give
himself a break from the current frustration. Liang Xie remained unaware of these thoughts
but could sense that Su Li had something on his mind.
Gu Nuan knew Su Li longer and more deeply than Liang Xie did. Whenever Su Li seemed
reserved or less talkative, it usually meant he had something on his mind. Gu Nuan guessed
that it had to do with Liang Xie and probed Su Li with questions about their relationship.
Su Li was initially annoyed by the questions but eventually gave in, pouring out his
frustrations to Gu Nuan.
Gu Nuan’s reply left Su Li completely baffled. “Su Li, you forgot one thing,” Gu Nuan said,
and when Su Li closed his mouth, unable to understand, Gu Nuan continued, “Although it
might not sound good, haven’t you forgotten that Liang Xie’s leg isn’t convenient? How do
you expect him to be more proactive? Should he chase you down or carry you around? You
should be the one to take the initiative.”
“What?”
“If he doesn’t kiss you, you kiss him; you can kiss him however you want. There’s no way
Liang Xie can run away, and if he tries, you can hold onto his wheelchair to stop him. See
how he runs then.”
This straightforward advice was like a sudden awakening for Su Li. He was now
considering making the plane turn back to C country. However, Gu Nuan had put a lot of
effort into arranging this trip to H country to support Han Yang, so it wasn’t so easy to
leave.
Around 4 p.m., the plane arrived in H country.
There were two people there to greet them, both slightly older male alphas, who wore
black suits and looked serious. They bowed slightly to Gu Nuan, saying, “Young Master!”
Gu Nuan greeted them with a hug. “Yan-ge, Xu-ge, it’s been a while. Have you missed me?”
Zhang Yan had a deadpan expression. “Missed you!”
Zhang Xu also looked solemn. “Missed you very much!”
Su Li asked, “What’s with these people from your grandfather? They look so strange.”
“Really?” Gu Nuan was used to it.
Gu Nuan assured Su Li, “They are students my grandfather sponsored in the past, and they
started working for my grandfather afterward. We used to play together when we were
kids. They’re really nice, don’t worry.”
“Alright.”
However, when Su Li arrived at Han Sen’s villa, he realized what it meant to “walk into the
lion’s den.” The grand doors of the villa opened, and a row of black-clad servants and maids
bowed and shouted loudly, “Welcome back, Young Master!”
The grandeur of it all opened Su Li’s eyes, and he quickly retreated behind Gu Nuan,
peeking out to observe the scene.
When Gu Nuan’s grandfather, Han Sen, appeared, waiting in the villa’s front yard half an
hour ahead of their arrival, Su Li felt his heart pounding. This was because there was a deep
scar on Han Sen’s face, and he had an unsmiling expression, making it hard for people to
approach him.
Su Li, who was quite clever, immediately figured out what kind of activities Han Sen had
been involved in.
Quick-witted as he was, Su Li immediately guessed that Han Sen had some involvement in
less-than-legal activities.
With a dry throat, Su Li asked quietly, “…You have to tell me, is your grandfather involved
in some shady business?”
“It seems like it.”
“?”
Su Li: “Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
Gu Nuan was puzzled, “It doesn’t matter, we’re just staying here. It’s not like we’re going
into business with him.”
