Stringy Wind in the Ear - Chap 17
Xiangxing Hotel was much larger than Li Xun had imagined. Fortunately, subtitles were scrolling on the advertising screen at the entrance of the hotel. Li Xun followed the instructions and came to the banquet hall on the third floor. He wanted to pick up his father and Chu Zhi as soon as possible to avoid causing trouble for others by drinking too much.
As soon as he pushed the door open, countless pairs of eyes turned to look at him. A guest asked the person next to him in a low voice: “Who is this?”
“have no idea.”
“He’s quite tall.”
“Hey! Xiaoxun is here!” Ms. Li Huiying’s sharp eyes were the first to spot him. She waved and shouted, “Over here, over here!”
Song Yang also stood up and waved.
It was obvious that the little girl put a lot of thought into her dressing up today. She had a Korean-style 3:7 split hair style, with her bangs layered to reveal a little bit of her forehead.
His look was very mature, but his smile gave him away. He looked particularly excited, and his cheeks were flushed, probably because he drank too much. I don’t know who put a big, bright red flower on the chest of his white shirt, making him look like he was getting married.
Li Xun walked over under everyone’s gaze, stepping on the red carpet, like a belated groom.
“I thought you really weren’t coming,” Song Yang pulled out a chair and invited him in, “Luckily I saved a seat for you in advance.”
Li Xun greeted several elders and took a seat.
The chopsticks and wet wipes at this position have not been opened from their plastic packaging, the wine glasses are also clean, but the bowls and plates are already filled with food.
From cold dishes to hot dishes, they were all his favorite foods. The plates of many dishes had been taken away, and these were left behind on purpose, just like when his elders took care of him when he was a child. For any meat, the best parts were kept.
Li Xun looked at them and felt a warmth in his chest.
“Who left these for me?” he asked.
Li Guotao said: “Xiao Yang was afraid that you might not be used to the food on the high-speed train, so he left some for you and picked out the food you like.”
Li Xun turned to look at Song Yang: “What if I don’t come?”
“Then don’t come. It doesn’t matter.” Song Yang shrugged, looking nonchalant. “Pack what you can pack, and forget what you can’t.”
Li Xun was a little curious. If it wasn’t him who came tonight, would Song Yang also give 100% sincerity and leave these things behind?
Is it his natural character or is he just special?
He was somewhat glad that he did not miss this sincerity.
The food in this hotel was very much to his liking. He had been travelling on an empty stomach all night and was very hungry. He finished all the seafood and meat in the bowl in no time.
He picked up the last piece of sweet and sour pork ribs on the plate and bit the crispy bones until they made a crunching sound.
Song Yang gently nudged his arm and almost whispered in his ear, “Master.”
Li Xun was still chewing a bone in his mouth. He uttered a “hmm” and said vaguely, “What’s wrong?”
Song Yang rested his arms on his knees, sitting very obediently: “Do you think there is anything different about me today?”
Li Xun curled his lips: “What’s different?”
Song Yang said “tsk”, straightened his back and said, “Don’t just focus on eating, take a closer look.”
Li Xun pretended to look him over. Under Song Yang’s earnest gaze, he shook his head against his will: “I can’t tell.”
“Uncle, you are so stupid! You can’t even see this, but I can see it!” Li Chuzhi pointed at Song Yang’s head proudly, “Brother has changed his hairstyle!”
“Oh——” Li Xun suppressed his laughter and used his best acting skills, “You changed your hairstyle.”
Li Huiying smiled and said, “How is it? Pretty good-looking, right? He ran out early in the morning and squatted in front of the barber shop. The boss hadn’t even gotten up yet, but he called the owner to wake him up and spent the whole morning.”
No wonder he is so handsome.
Li Xun spat out the bone and praised it frankly: “It looks good.”
Song Yang sighed at the side: “What’s so beautiful about it? You can’t even see it.”
Li Xun used eating like crazy to cover up the corners of his mouth that were about to curl up uncontrollably.
Li Chuzhi grabbed Song Yang’s arm and said flatteringly: “Brother, I saw it! I noticed it the first time I saw you today!”
Song Yang scratched her nose and said, “You are still the smartest.”
Li Chuzhi rubbed his arms and laughed: “You look super handsome today, no one here is as handsome as you.”
Song Yang pinched her baby fat, held her and sat her on his lap, thinking that the gap between men and women was quite big.
For some people, eyes are just like nothing. They are useless except aiming at the center of the bull’s eye.
Li Xun was peeling crab shells when he came over and asked with interest, “Do you include me in this list of everyone?”
Li Chuzhi didn’t expect his uncle to ask a question. He looked at the two of them uncertainly, wondering how to respond.
Judging from appearance alone, she felt that her uncle and brother were not of the same type, and each was handsome in their own way, but she liked her brother’s appearance more, he was very gentle and always smiling. The most important thing was that Song Yang had a very good temper, he never got angry, and he would not restrict her freedom to eat snacks.
But if I tell the truth, my uncle might be unhappy.
Finally, she raised her head and met their gazes confidently: “Whoever buys me StellaLou will be the most handsome!”
“What’s the Star Road?” Song Yang didn’t understand. “What is the Star Continent?”
“StellaLou.” Li Xun said with a smile, “A bunny from Disney.”
Just as Song Yang clicked into Taobao, Li Xun grabbed his wrist and stopped him, saying, “Are you really going to buy it for her? Her bed is full of them. It’s so troublesome to change her sheets every time.”
Song Yang has already found the little rabbit, and the price is within his affordability.
To be honest, he understood Li Chuzhi’s desire for something but couldn’t get it. When he was a child, his mother wouldn’t buy him any toys he liked. So he hoped that Li Chuzhi’s childhood would have fewer regrets, so he said, “It doesn’t matter if he has one more. This one doesn’t seem to be very big, and it’s very cute.”
Li Chuzhi hugged him excitedly, but Li Xun said coldly, “You are not allowed to buy it.”
The leader gave orders, and Song Yang dared not disobey. With an “Ah or Oh” sound, Li Chuzhi puffed up her face and glared at Li Xun fiercely. However, Li Xun ignored her, so she had to squeeze over, humphed in his ear, and solemnly announced: “I don’t like you anymore.”
Li Xun peeled the crab indifferently: “Since you don’t like it, why don’t you go home with your favorite brother tonight, live in his house from now on, and let him buy you things.”
Li Chuzhi’s eyes rolled around.
Although going to Song Yang’s house was something to be happy about, she was more dependent on Li Xun. In the end, she just walked over and said as if nothing had happened, “Then can you buy me a Stella Lou on my birthday?”
Song Yang saw Li Xun wiping his hands and said slowly, “It depends on your performance,” as if he knew all of Chu Zhi’s reactions.
Li Xun had a big appetite. He quietly finished two bowls of rice and ate a mango snow meringue.
Song Yang felt a little regretful. He should have left one extra for Li Xun when serving the dessert. He seemed to like this little dessert very much and finished it in just two bites.
After the banquet, many guests came to the main table to give Song Yang gifts and blessings, and also asked who the little girl next to him was from. It was very cute.
Li Xun saw Li Huiying introducing her “new daughter” to everyone with great joy, and he didn’t worry too much about the issue of seniority. After all, he wouldn’t suffer any loss since Song Yang called him uncle.
Song Jingshan was in a good mood today and drank too much, so he fell asleep on the table. Song Yang and his mother helped him walk out, but the drunk man was too heavy, and his mother complained of back pain before they even reached the door.
“Hurry, hurry, take a rest on the side for a while.” said Li Huiying.
Li Xun walked over, took Song Jingshan’s arm and put it around his shoulder, then bent down and carried him on his back: “Where is the car parked?”
His movements were too swift, and before Li Huiying could recover from her surprise, Song Yangxian said, “It’s in the underground garage. Let’s take the elevator down.”
After Li Xun sent his father and Chu Zhi home, he called Song Yang. Song Yang was washing up at the time and called back twenty minutes later.
“What happened? Did something fall?”
“No,” Li Xun asked, “Are you going to sleep?”
Li Xun rarely took the initiative to call, and Song Yang had a good feeling, so he stood up from the bed and said, “Not yet, I go to bed very late.”
“Then come out for a while. I’ll wait for you in the park in the community.”
