Subordinate Doting - Chap 130
So Ji Tingyu never knew until his death that He Zhuo rushed back home that night just to bring him his favorite wine.
Kitten Whisky stopped production the year after he left Neville. He Zhuo went to the old site of a foreign distillery and searched for a long time before he found a retired winemaker and got the last bottle of Kitten from his collection.
Similarly, He Zhuo didn’t know that the reason why Ji Tingyu waited in front of the flower bed until late at night was because he was trying to ask him for help with his last breath.
Fate plays tricks on us. Regrets are like the pores on tangerine peel, dry, cracked, sour and bitter.
When He Zhuo thought about those past events again, it felt like a century had passed.
“How come I didn’t know I liked this?”
Ji Tingyu asked him drunkenly.
He Zhuo said nothing, took off his coat and wrapped it around him, lifted up his long hair that was messed up by the sea breeze, and used his tie clip to pin it behind his ears.
”I once visited the Clynelicke distillery where Kitten is produced. It is like an isolated pasture, and uses the Sutherland coat of arms – a wild Scottish Highland cat – as its wine label.”
”The hard-working long-haired folded-eared dogs,” Ji Tingyu recalled a relative of his who was young but determined to be a security guard. “If I remember correctly, they are very good at helping humans guard warehouses.”
”Not really.” He Zhuo’s eyes showed a teasing look, “In order to prevent rats, the winery raised a lot of Highland cats, but there were still rats. They often became drunk because of stealing berries for winemaking.”
Ji Tingyu: “Pfft.”
”The kitten doesn’t want to go to work either.”
”Yeah, there are drunk berry cats everywhere in the winery, lying on the ground with their arms and legs spread out, their bellies bulging, their mouths dyed pink, and snoring like tractors.” He Zhuo glanced at him and said, “They look exactly like you when you were bullied.
”I don’t snore.”
Ji Tingyu swore that he was a good sleeper.
”Honest? You’ll only be honest when you sleep in my arms.”
”Once you were put into the sleeping bag and laid there holding the little felt wolf before going to sleep, your head and feet would be mixed up when you woke up the next day. You would bite the little wolf into your mouth and get caught on the barbs on its tongue and couldn’t get it off.”
If one were to list all the bad habits in Ji Tingyu’s life, He Zhuo could easily list a basketful of them.
Picky about food, lazy in bed, vain, unaware of how to sit or sleep, and also have the oral stage that only children have.
”If you hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t know I have so many problems. How about… I change?” Ji Tingyu tested him insincerely.
He Zhuo frowned immediately and said, “Why are you changing your mind? No matter how many bad habits you have, they are not caused by me.”
Ji Tingyu burst out laughing.
If He Zhuo lived in ancient times, he would definitely be a tyrant.
”Come on, Mr. He, let me light a cigarette for you.”
He crouched down to serve, but before he could touch the cigarette box, his wrist was grabbed. He Zhuo pinched his index finger and put a ring on it.
Ji Tingyu almost thought that he was going to propose to her like this, and subconsciously held her breath. But when she looked closely, she realized that it was not a ring, but it looked very similar to a ring.
A golden plain circle with two sharp horns like snail tentacles sticking out from it. On one horn is a kitten made of white chalcedony, only as big as a grain of rice, with its eyes narrowed and smiling, looking naive and cute.
”What is this?”
Ji Tingyu liked it very much, but didn’t know what it was used for.
He Zhuo took out a cigarette and sandwiched it between the two white jade kittens. The kittens opened their claws and hugged the cigarette, fitting it tightly.
”It’s a little thing for you to smoke with, so that the smell of cigarettes won’t get on your hands and bother you.”
Ji Tingyu is not addicted to smoking. He only smokes two cigarettes when he wants to relieve fatigue and refresh himself. After smoking, he dislikes the smell on his hands and has to rub them under the faucet seven or eight times before he stops smoking.
Sometimes when he was really annoyed, he didn’t even bother holding the cigarette with his hands. He would just pick up two branches and use them to hold the cigarette. If he was even lazier, he wouldn’t even pick up branches. He would just clamp the cigarette directly on the spring sheet of the pistol. Every time he raised the pistol to smoke, it was like he was firing a cannon at himself.
He Zhuo watched it once and laughed for a long time.
I asked someone to make this cigarette holder for me overnight.
The plain ring had been made a long time ago, but good quality white chalcedony was hard to come by, and he didn’t want to give Ji Tingyu inferior goods, so he waited until now.
”Just for… to give me cigarettes? Did you sharpen this cat yourself?”
”Did you notice? The mouth of the left one was worn a little crooked. I wanted to redo it, but it looks a lot like you when you’re angry, so I kept it.”
”Why bother with all this? Just pick up two branches for me.”
”I can’t bear to see you suffer this kind of injustice.”
”Oh… so this is called being wronged.”
Ji Tingyu’s voice sounded a little bit grumbling, and He Zhuo carefully held his face: “What’s wrong? Don’t you like it?”
The cat shook its head and stroked the pair of white jade kittens that seemed to still feel the warmth of He Zhuo’s fingers. It felt as if its heart had turned into a bottle filled with sea water, and the emotions in its heart were about to burst through its throat and pour out.
”You really spoil me…”
Even such trivial matters are taken into consideration.
He Zhuo laughed and gently touched his forehead.
”You are my only child. If I don’t spoil you, who else will I spoil?”
Ji Tingyu felt a lump in her nose and she leaned her forehead on his shoulder, half drunk and half awake. Her tail came out of the opening of her skirt and made a fluffy heart shape to him.
After making the gesture of tiptoeing, a heart was photographed in front of He Zhuo.
”It’s a return gift. It’s a reward for you.” The kitten’s tone was so arrogant.
He Zhuo grabbed the heart of love from a distance and put it carefully into his chest.
”Where did you learn these tricks to deceive people?”
”It’s not like I don’t know anything…”
”You only coaxed me?”
Otherwise, who would dare to let me coax them?
”I’ve only ever liked you, who else should I coax if not you?”
He Zhuo’s heart was moved by the sweetness of this mouthful of honey. He picked him up and spun around like a silly boy who had just fallen in love: “Xiao Mi, I like you.”
Ji Tingyu felt a great sense of accomplishment.
