The Disabled Tyrant’s Pet Palm Fish [Transmigration] - Chap 27
Chap 27
To Li Yu, Jing-wang wanting to put the little carp into a crystal bottle to be carried around at all
times was a good thing and a bad thing.
The tyrant master was worried about fish’s safety. This was a display of how much he pampered
and loved the fish. Li Yu felt extremely touched. However, to be carried around at all times and
being confined to a bottle that only had one cover made it impossible for Li Yu to find a moment
to change back into a human.
When Li Yu realized this fact, he had already been carried around by Jing-wang for a large
portion of the day. The outside world was too enticing. Li Yu actually never imagined that one
day, he’d be able to wander around as a fish; so he only remembered to open his fish eyes wide
and swim around inside the bottle while looking around all over.
When the servants of the Prince’s Estate saw him, they all bowed respectfully. The little carp’s
tiny little feeling of vanity was satisfied– alright, actually they were bowing respectfully towards
Jing-wang who was carrying him. Occasionally experiencing the feeling of using powerful
connections to intimidate people was not bad.
Jing-wang also enjoyed carrying fish around like this because it was convenient. The fish tank
was too heavy in the end. It needed several people to lift it. The teacup and bowl were too
shallow. He could accidentally drop the fish. The crystal bottle was completely worriless. He
could bring it even when entering the imperial palace.
Jing-wang tasted the benefits so he desired, even more so, to keep the fish inside the crystal
bottle at all times.
At first, Li Yu found it pretty fun. When he discovered that Jing-wang didn’t seem to plan to put
him back into the fish tank and that, in actuality, he was being trapped inside the bottle, he
became somewhat unhappy.
Although the bottle allowed him to stay together with his master at all times, he couldn’t do tasks
in it. He also couldn’t change back into a human. He could only watch wide-eyed as many good
opportunities swept by; what a terrible feeling.
The life of a fish being confined in a bottle was lonely like snow.
He needed to let Jing-wang understand, although the bottle was convenient, for the sake of the
fish’s mental and physical health, it’s best to not let fish stay inside the bottle for too long.
Originally, he planned to give a fierce reminder by flipping onto his stomach to scare Jing-wang
a bit in order to express his dissatisfaction. However, he saw Jing-wang order Wang Xi to place a
chain around the handle of the crystal bottle and then wrapped this chain around his own hand
several times to avoid losing grip and accidentally dropping the crystal bottle. Li Yu lost the
desire to scare Jing-wang.
Jing-wang’s palm was red from the tightly wrapped chains. The little carp felt his heart full and
aching. Although it felt uncomfortable being closed inside a bottle, seeing Jing-wang like this
because of him made Li Yu feel even more distressed.
Jing-wang has never raised a pet before. He didn’t really know what a fish wanted. Placing Li
Yu inside a bottle was also an act of kindness. Li Yu only wanted to make Jing-wang aware that
he didn’t want to stay inside the bottle, not flop belly up to worry Jing-wang deliberately; it’s not
like Jing-wang was his enemy.
Li Yu forcibly suppressed his feeling of novelty and curiosity towards the outside world and
quietly sank to the bottom of the bottle.
The little carp was usually lively and active. As soon as it quieted down, it became very
apparent.
Jing-wang gave the fish a glance, very puzzled. The fish was just looking at everything loftily a
second ago. How come it suddenly withered?
Concerned that the air holes on the cover of the bottle were blocked, Jing-wang specifically
examined it for a while. The crystal bottle was completely fine.
The fish was still listless, not getting any better at all. Jing-wang ordered the servants who knew
how to raise fish to come over, afraid that Xiao Yu was sick again.
Every time the servants came over before to ‘examine the fish for illness,’ they ended up with
false alarms. This time, they held up the crystal bottle and turned it around all over in
examination, but still couldn’t figure out what’s wrong with the fish.
Jing-wang’s fish was fine.
However, the servants raised plenty of pets before and knew that most pets didn’t like being
confined. Therefore, they gathered their courage to tactfully tell Jing-wang: perhaps Master Fish
wasn’t very used to being always sealed inside a bottle. After all, the crystal fish tank used to
raise the fish before was extremely big. After changing into such a narrow small area, the fish’s
ability to swim around was limited. Over time, it’d end up not liking to move.
After saying all of this, the servants felt somewhat regretful. Jing-wang was the one who wanted
to place the fish inside the crystal bottle in the first place. Now, Jing-wang wanted them to speak
the truth; the servants felt pretty awkward.
So it’s like this. Jing-wang nodded, understanding what the servants were trying to say
The crystal bottle was convenient to carry fish, but ultimately, he couldn’t let the fish stay in
there forever. The fish would get depressed. He needed to consider it from a fish’s perspective as
well.
However, he also couldn’t let the fish stay inside his room by itself, being coveted by the
thief……
Jing-wang thought of a compromise not long afterwards. Fish tanks, as well as large sized
teacups, were placed in areas where he often went to. The fish still followed him, but when he
reached these places, he’d immediately take the fish out of the crystal bottle and place it into a
nearby fish tank or teacup. All should be settled like this.
Li Yu only withered for two hours to reach his objective. He discovered that he could
occasionally return to the fish tank again.
Jing-wang opened the cover of the bottle and placed the bottle inside the fish tank. The little carp
was finally no longer head lowered and droopy-eared. Like an arrow leaving the bow, it shot out
of the crystal bottle.
……sure enough, it was more fitting for fish to stay inside a fish tank.
As Li Yu swam comfortably inside the tank, he let out deep sighs of regret.
He turned his head to look at the bottle that remained sunken to the bottom of the fish tank. It’s
not like he didn’t want to stay together with Jing-wang at all times. This was an act of kindness
from his master after all.
In order to express his gratitude towards his master, the little carp specifically circled the crystal
bottle and danced the hula dance, doing his best to transmit his intentions towards Jing-wang.
The bottle was very good. He was also happy to follow Jing-wang all over. Just don’t keep him
shut inside the bottle the entire time.
Jing-wang really did sense the fish’s favorable intentions, his lips curving as he squeezed the
fish’s slippery back. The fish and the human finally reached an agreement.
Li Yu, who celebrated for a good while, then discovered that staying inside the fish tank still
meant staying together with Jing-wang at all times: !!!
What to do? He still couldn’t find a chance to shapeshift like this. Was his ability to change into
a human once per day now halted indefinitely!
Li Yu had a headache. Should he let Jing-wang know that the thief Jing-wang guarded against in
order to protect fish, was actually fish himself?
However, in comparison to not being able to shapeshift, the plan to save Ye QingHuan was
clearly more important at the moment.
Li Yu already implemented his plan to save Ye-shizi. When he was inside the crystal bottle the
last few days, he once heard Wang Xi report to Jing-wang: ChengEn Palace Estate started to
watch the 2nd Prince and the 6th Prince’s activities.
This was what Ye QingHuan had promised.
Li Yu sent the letter just to make the ChengEn Palace Estate increase their vigilance. Actually,
even he didn’t know very well; now that Jing-wang and the little pampered wife’s romantic
plotline was gone, would Ye-shizi still be ordered to marry the JinJue Princess. Li Yu did his
best to write down some of events that occurred in the novel in a simple manner. Even if it didn’t
happen in the end, and this letter was taken for a dud, it’s fine. At least ChengEn Estate Palace
wouldn’t be easily tricked by the 2nd Prince and 6th Prince like what happened in the original
book.
Although he was almost caught by Jing-wang again and his cover was almost on the verge of
collapsing, this rescue operation ultimately counted as rather successful. Nevertheless, the branch
mission “Impenetrable Fortress” which was related to Ye-shizi, still didn’t give the completion
notification yet.
Without the notification, it meant that this task wasn’t completed yet. Because the main purpose
this time was to rescue a person, keeping the person alive was the most important, receiving the
reward was secondary. Thinking it from another perspective, did this signify that sending a letter
to raise ChengEn Palace Estate’s vigilance wasn’t enough; that Ye-shizi still might experience
the same tragic ending in the original book?
Since Li Yu decided to start this rescue mission, he shouldn’t give up halfway. If writing a letter
wasn’t enough, what else can he do?
Li Yu remembered that in the original book, Ye QingHuan was framed inside the Imperial
Palace. The time was set a few days after the Dragon Boat Festival. Although Li Yu mentioned
all of this in the letter, who knows how Ye QingHuan would respond. Li Yu felt the most
straightforward plan was to stop Ye-shizi from entering the Imperial Palace around this time and
leave the location of the trap as far away as possible.
However, stopping Ye-shizi from entering the Imperial Palace was even harder than writing and
sending a letter to him.
If he wanted to stop Jing-wang, he might have a better chance. However, Ye QingHuan was
from ChengEn Palace Estate. His fish’s fins are too short. He couldn’t reach that far.
Li Yu worried until his fish head hurted. He didn’t know if fish would lose scales if they used
their head too much as well, but he vaguely felt like all of the scales on his body were falling off.
Luckily Jing-wang had the same thought as him. Wang Xi only said that ChengEn Palace Estate
made plans, but Jing-wang didn’t know exactly what Ye QingHuan planned to do. Therefore, he
ordered people to grab Ye-shizi and drag him over. On behalf of Jing-wang, Wang Xi
reprimanded him severely and haughtily.
Ye QingHuan, who thought he was finally receiving concern from Jing-wang: “……”
What Jing-wang wanted to say was also that it’s best for Ye QingHuan to keep away around that
time. Listening to this inside the fish tank, Li Yu thought excitedly and uncontrollably: as
expected of his master. Their hearts were connected and beat as one. Ye-shizi should listen to
Jing-wang’s advice right?
However, Ye QingHuan shook his head and declined.
“TianChi, I can’t just not enter the Imperial Palace because of some words in a letter.” Ye
QingHuan understood that Jing-wang was saying this for his own good. However, he was very
clear that he usually wouldn’t enter the palace without reason anyways. Most of the time, it’s
because of imperial commands. It’s fine to become more vigilant, but if he had to defy an
imperial order or deceive the Emperor because of some impossible to confirm words, the
ChengEn Palace Estate, as well as his mother and father, definitely wouldn’t let him off.
Ye QingHuan smiled confidently: “I’ll act how I should act and see how these people plan to
harm me.”
Really…… an impossibly stupid person.
Although Jing-wang disdained Ye QingHuan for his recklessness, after mumbling to himself for
a while, he still gave Wang Xi a look.
Wang Xi was so moved that tears rolled out of his eyes: “My lord, don’t worry. His highness
decided to enter the Imperial Palace together with you! With his highness watching from the
side, you will definitely be fine!”
“TianChi, many thanks!”
Jing-wang usually treated people apathetically. For a second, Ye QingHuan felt so touched, he
wanted to step forth to pat his cousin on the shoulder; but he was smacked away furiously by
Jing-wang.
Li Yu always felt that Ye-shizi’s little bright-eye expression, his failed attempts to jump Jing-
wang, and his continued desire to jump Jing-wang still, looked somewhat familiar.
Carefully thinking about it, Li Yu thought: Wasn’t this just like Gale? Gale often wanted to use
his nose to poke the fish, scaring Li Yu to hide away yelling. Even separated by the crystal wall,
Gale still kept poking.
Looking at Ye-shizi again, Li Yu thought the other seemed to have grown a long dog tail behind
him, which was currently wagging cheerfully.
Li Yu: Pfft. A dog really does take after its master.
In the original novel, Jing-wang didn’t accompany Ye QingHuan into the Imperial Palace. Now
that Jing-wang was going, the two could look after each other. Li Yu felt much more comforted
inside.
According to Jing-wang’s recent habit of bringing Li Yu wherever he went, he was definitely
entering the palace as well. Then he could go watch out for Ye-shizi personally!
After ten days, the Dragon Boat Festival was approaching. The ruler of the nation of JinJue–
King of JinJue came to the Imperial City to have an audience with the Emperor. The Emperor let
the Minister of Rites make the arrangements to hold a banquet in the Hall of Supreme Harmony
for the King of JinJue.
Since it was a national banquet, Jing-wang and Ye QingHuan had their spots. When they saw the
beautiful and lovely, 16 year old girl next to the King of JinJue step forth to pay respect to the
Emperor, the two people gave each other a tactful look.
So this was the Princess of JinJue…..the person mentioned in the letter, someone who originally
had no connections to them at all, was now right before them!
Jing-wang and Ye QingHuan both mutually tensed up.
The Emperor recently received letters from the King of JinJue. The King of JinJue wanted to ally
politically through marriage and marry his little Princess into this nation. Considering the
diplomatic relationship between the two nations, the Emperor cheerfully agreed.
As for who to marry the little princess to, the Emperor went through a list of age-appropriate
men in his heart.
The people with the most respectable status were naturally his sons. However, the Princess of
JinJue was a foreigner after all so it was not suitable for her to become the main wife of a Prince.
Yet the King of JinJue mentioned in his letters already, the little princess didn’t want to be a
concubine.
The Emperor remembered Jing-wang hadn’t married yet. Although he couldn’t inherit the
throne, it was still possible for him to marry the Princess of JinJue.
However, the Emperor immediately rejected this idea. Jing-wang was a mute. The Princess of
JinJue might not like him in the end. Also, as long as the Emperor did not announce a crown
prince, Jing-wang was still the main son who had the most respectable position. If he let Jing-
wang marry a foreigner, who was he supposed to arrange as the other Princes’ main wives?
The Emperor decided not to choose any of his sons, but instead, looked towards other sons of
nobility to marry the Princess of JinJue.
Very quickly, the heir of ChengEn Palace entered his line of sight……
In the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Emperor said with a smile: “Ye-shizi, You will be in
charge of the safety of the King and Princess of JinJue during their stay inside the Imperial
Palace.”
Ye QingHuan felt the blood inside his entire body turn cold. Grinding his teeth, he knelt and
accepted the imperial edict.
……
At the banquet, Jing-wang took his seat and then pulled out the crystal bottle from inside his
sleeve. There were many complicated etiquettes that needed to be followed for the national
banquet. Who knows if Xiao Yu has been stifled terribly this entire time.
When he entered the Imperial Palace today, originally he didn’t plan to bring the fish. However,
Xiao Yu jumped into the crystal bottle and refused to come out, its black jade-like eyes looking
at him nonstop.
Smiling, Jing-wang can only stuff the crystal bottle and fish both into his sleeve.
Now that he took out the crystal bottle, everyone in the vicinity all gaped at this scene.
Jing-wang was actually carrying a fish with him?
Plenty of these people have seen Jing-wang move the huge crystal tank back home before; yet
for a moment, even they didn’t know what to say.
The 2nd Prince was sitting amongst the Princes, conversing cheerfully and joyously, acting like
an ideal crown prince. Upon seeing this fish, his face color instantly paled.
2nd Prince, we meet again!
Li Yu leisurely waved his tail at Mu TianZhao(2). He was here to wreck havoc on the 2nd
Prince’s fine plans once more!
