When two waiters came over with their dishes, Luo ZhouZhou tucked a napkin around his chest and began to concentrate on his meal.
The table behind him also stopped talking and began to eat.
“The chef at this restaurant is quite famous, try it.” Chen WenZhou had calmed down. He decided to just finish the meal first, after all, he was General Luo’s son, and even if there was no follow-up, he couldn’t just leave the person behind. When he first met Luo ZhouZhou, he was pleasantly surprised, but after the earlier conversation, he was now completely disinterested in him.
The two of them ate quietly, only the occasional sound of knives and forks touching their plates sounded.
Chen WenZhou accidentally raised his eyes and saw Luo ZhouZhou’s long, lowered eyelashes, bright red lips, and slightly bulging cheeks, and his heart began to come alive again.
He hesitantly thought, Should I say something and get to know each other better?
As soon as he made up his mind to open his mouth, he felt a cool sensation on the back of his neck, and felt the air breeze against his skin.
Chen WenZhou’s heart tightened, Oh no, this is bad. My gland patch is loose.
He sat up straight and looked around, trying to summon the waiter to come over and help him put on a new patch.
At that moment, Luo ZhouZhou suddenly put down his knife and fork, and twitched his nose around, sniffing. He frowned and asked Chen WenZhou, “Do you smell that? There’s some strange smell.”
An Omega could smell Alpha pheromones, and when the gland patch was loose, the smell wafted out. But the question was too personal, involving the sex gland, and Chen WenZhou could not explain it to Luo ZhouZhou. He could only raise his right hand awkwardly, hoping that the distant waiter would see him soon.
Luo ZhouZhou was still sniffing around until he got a whiff of Chen WenZhou’s direction, then stopped moving.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know.” He reacted abruptly and sat down to apologize.
Chen WenZhou didn’t want to say anything now, and sat there awkwardly frozen.
Luo ZhouZhou stopped sniffing around, but also couldn’t eat anymore, so he only took the water in front of him and drank it slowly.
He thought to himself, So this is Chen WenZhou’s body odor, although it is a bit unpleasant, I can’t show it on my face. However… this body odor is like a werewolf’s. Chen WenZhou, is he a werewolf? I haven’t found a second vampire since I came to this world, but there are werewolves here?
A waiter saw Chen WenZhou’s raised right hand and came over to ask in a low voice.
“Please help me with my gland patch.” Chen WenZhou whispered.
The waiter quickly glanced at the back of his neck and said, “Please follow me, sir.”
Chen WenZhou stood up and said to Luo ZhouZhou, “Excuse me, I need to go to the restroom.”
Luo ZhouZhou nodded and watched as he hurried away behind the waiter, picked up his knife and fork again, and prepared to eat some more.
But the smell was really bad, and it was still lingering.
Luo ZhouZhou put down his knife and fork again.
Chen WenZhou might be a werewolf, the antithesis of the vampire race. His body odor was so pungent and foul that it made his chest and abdomen tight. Luo ZhouZhou sighed deeply. It seemed that he could not let Chen WenZhou be his servant and bodyguard.
Racial confrontation aside, he never took it to heart. But surrounded by this smell all day long, he will sooner or later become a vampire who will be burned alive.
Before Chen WenZhou returned, Luo ZhouZhou resisted the urge to dry heave and waved to another waiter.
The young waiter quickly came over, bent down and asked, “What can I do for you, sir?”
“Do you have any air cleaner? Spray some here,” said Luo ZhouZhou, pointing to his surroundings.
The waiter was slightly startled, then sniffed and said, “Sir, but the air here is very clean.”
Luo ZhouZhou looked at him and said, “Can’t you smell such a pungent smell?”
The waiter tried sniffing again, and then replied, “I don’t smell anything, but if you want, I’ll spray some air cleaner.”
Luo ZhouZhou wanted to say that he needed it, badly, but when he saw Chen WenZhou’s figure in the lobby, he said, “Forget it.”
The waiter left in response.
After Chen WenZhou took his seat, he said, “I’m really sorry.” Luo ZhouZhou shook his head and said, “It’s okay.”
After replacing his gland patch, Chen WenZhou was much more relaxed, so he picked up the knife and fork and said, “Let’s continue our dinner.” He then took a big bite and ate.
Luo ZhouZhou held the glass of water in his hand and looked at him with a complicated expression.
After a moment’s hesitation, he finally asked in a low voice, “Chen WenZhou, are you a werewolf?”
Luo ZhouZhou heard a low, short, but clearly amused chuckle from behind him as soon as the words left his mouth.
“What did you say?” Chen WenZhou thought he didn’t hear the question correctly and asked.
Luo ZhouZhou turned to look, saw the table behind him talking softly, so he leaned forward, lowered his voice again and asked, “Are you a werewolf?”
Chen Wenzhou heard clearly this time, put down his knife and fork and asked blankly, “Werewolf?”
“Shh.” Luo ZhouZhou made a whispered gesture and watched his face, trying to catch subtle mood changes in his expressions.
“You’re asking if I’m a werewolf?” Chen WenZhou repeated the same thing incredulously, his facial muscles twitching slightly.
Luo ZhouZhou now knew the answer very well, and stopped saying anything, and only drank the water he was holding with his head lowered.
Chen WenZhou’s breathing became ragged and his face began to turn red, “Luo ZhouZhou, it was General Luo Pei who asked for my opinion, and I have come with considerable sincerity.” He rose to his feet, grabbed his coat and leather bag from the coat rack next to him, and said, “If Mr. Luo didn’t want to go on a blind date with me, you could have made it clear from the beginning, so there’s no need to pretend to be crazy like this.”
“Blind date?” Luo ZhouZhou, whose head was hanging, caught the word and asked in surprise, “Didn’t he say he was looking for a personal servant for me?”
After Luo ZhouZhou finished his question, the customer, who was only a row of greenery away from him and back to back, let out another soft chuckle.
But neither of them, each in shock, noticed.
Chen WenZhouhad nothing else to say, he picked up his bag, put his jacket on his arm, and left in a huff.
Luo ZhouZhou was startled for a moment, opened the terminal on his wrist, and looked up Chen WenZhou in his address book.
Luo Pei had entered it for him before he left for work, just in case he couldn’t find anyone at the restaurant.
[Mr. Chen, this is Luo ZhouZhou. There has been a misunderstanding, and I sincerely apologize,] he wrote. Luo ZhouZhou finished writing and clicked send.
There was a beep, and the message failed, indicating that he had been blacklisted.
Luo ZhouZhou had to put the terminal away, sit down again, and prepared to go home.
As soon as he got up and walked to the front door, a waiter’s voice came from behind him, “Sir, your table hasn’t been paid for yet,” the waiter said politely and courteously.
“Oh.” Luo ZhouZhou felt around his body and remembered that Linda had prepared a wallet for him, but had forgotten to take it out.
Fortunately, there was a terminal. He lifted his wrist and connected it with the terminal on the waiter’s wrist.
“Sorry, your balance is insufficient.” A cold, mechanical female voice came from the terminal.
Luo ZhouZhou relentlessly put his wrist up twice more.
“Sorry, your balance is insufficient.”
“Sorry, your balance is insufficient.”
Ah, Luo Pei had taken the terminal away and frozen his account after being caught running away earlier.
Under the waiter’s increasingly complicated gaze, Luo ZhouZhou asked, “Can I owe you the balance?”
“I’m sorry sir, we don’t allow debts here.” The waiter answered.
He should use his terminal to call Assistant Qin to pay the bill for him. Luo ZhouZhou could only come up with this solution.
The terminal call sounded, and it only connected after a while. A soft female voice sounded, “Hello.”
Luo ZhouZhou looked at the dial-up interface in confusion, and it showed that it was Assistant Qin’s number.
“Hello.” The other side repeated. “Assistant Qin is in a meeting, and none of the conference participants’ terminals are allowed to be brought into the conference room. Please call back in an hour, thank you.”
Before Luo ZhouZhou had a chance to speak, he heard a series of busy tone beeps , and the conversation was cut off.
So what should he do?
Luo ZhouZhou and the waiter looked at each other.
After all, the people who visited this restaurant were rich and famous, and the young waiter had never encountered such a situation before.
“I’ll pay for him.” A careless voice rang out from his side.
Luo ZhouZhou turned around and saw the customer who had just sat back-to-back with him walk out. He was tall and dressed in a military uniform, his hands in his pockets, and under his low military cap, he had deep eye sockets and a high nose.
“Methuselah Luo ZhouZhou, we meet again.” Chu Feng lifted his lips and smiled.
Night was falling and the lights were beginning to turn on. Chu Feng stood on the steps of the restaurant’s entrance, waiting for the porter to bring his car.
Luo ZhouZhou followed a short distance behind him, quiet as a chicken.
A black military SUV drove over from the direction of the parking lot and parked slowly at the bottom of the steps. Chu Feng sauntered over, opened the driver’s door and got in.
Luo ZhouZhou stood quietly, ready to return home after Chu Feng left. He had already checked the route with the terminal, it was more than a dozen miles from here to home, and he had no money on him, so he could only walk back slowly.
He didn’t move, and the car didn’t move either.
A moment later, the passenger’s window lowered, and Chu Feng looked down from inside and ordered Luo ZhouZhou, “Get in the car.”
Luo ZhouZhou hesitated, but finally slowly descended the steps and opened the passenger door to get into the car.
“Where to? General Luo’s residence?” Chu Feng started the car.
Luo ZhouZhou didn’t want to go back now, he was finally free and wanted to go to the Bayard Police Station to look for Chen SiHan, but he didn’t know if Chu Feng would give him a ride.
Chu Feng waited for a while without waiting for an answer, turned to him and said, “I don’t take kids home for the night.”
“I’d like to go to the Bayard Police Station, is that okay?” Luo ZhouZhou asked, then added with a straight face, “I’m not a kid, and I’m not going to sleep over at your house.”
“Oh? What are you going there for? To familiarize yourself with the confinement room environment?” Chu Feng still didn’t drive, his long fingers gently tapping the steering wheel.
Luo ZhouZhou thought about it and said, “I want to visit a friend.”
To be clear, Chen SiHan didn’t know him yet, so he wasn’t really a friend, but he would be soon.
So Luo ZhouZhou didn’t feel guilty at all when he said, “You can’t take me there?”
“Do you want me to take you through the checkpoint, even without sticking a beard on you?” Chu Feng narrowed his eyes.
Luo ZhouZhou was quick to show him the white bracelet on his wrist, “I can pass, General Luo Pei gave me back my terminal.”
Chu Feng glanced at the bracelet, didn’t ask any more questions, and put his foot on the gas pedal. Like a swimming fish, the military off-road vehicle merged into the sea of headlights.
In the silence, Luo ZhouZhou looked out and said, “I’ll pay you back tomorrow, thanks for today.”
Chu Feng was driving and did not reply.
He looked behind him in the rearview mirror, took off his right hand from the steering wheel, half clenched it into a fist, and stretched it out in front of Luo ZhouZhou. The hand was well-defined, the skin a healthy light brown, and Luo ZhouZhou did not understand what he was suddenly reaching for.
But he reacted instantly and made a fist with his right hand as well, bumping the hand and whispering, “Yeah!”
After the car turned onto the road, Chu Feng turned his head and looked at him with a not-really smiling expression.
It seems that was not what he meant.
Luo ZhouZhou thought to himself, and suddenly, struck by a realization, took his hand in his and shook it up and down.
“Don’t you want to return my money? I’m just asking you to add my terminal.” Chu Feng’s gaze fell on his right hand being held. Then he turned to look ahead and continued to drive with one hand, right hand extended.
“Oh.” Luo ZhouZhou released his hand and aligned his wrist with Chu Feng’s.
Two transparent three-dimensional displays popped out from their overlapping wrists, and Chu Feng said, “Pass.”
The displays retracted after a beep sound.
