The two Omegas went up the stairs together, moving steadily and stiffly inside. The security guards at the guard post had averted their eyes, but couldn’t help looking at them again.
There was no one in the lobby, except for a hospital employee sitting in the reception room, playing a game on his terminal. When he heard their footsteps, he didn’t lift his eyelids.
Lin Fan turned his back, opened the terminal on his wrist, and brought up the pre-saved map.
“Remember, when you enter the lobby, turn left, and prepare to follow the escape passage up to the fifth floor.” He then whispered to Luo ZhouZhou, “The map shows that the blood bank is on the fifth floor.”
“Understood.” Luo ZhouZhou replied in a low voice.
The two of them followed the left path through the lobby.
Lin Fan was probably too nervous and started talking non-stop.
“I actually prepared two more pairs of sunglasses, but I thought they were too conspicuous, so I put them in my bag and didn’t take them out. Zhou Zhou, my heart is beating so fast, I think I’m going to have a heart attack.”
Luo ZhouZhou was side by side with him and felt his heart pounding just like Lin Fan’s. It wasn’t that he was nervous and scared, rather, he was excited. He could finally drink blood.
In the corridor to the escape passage, they encountered several people on the way, including a speeding doctor. They held their breath and acted as if nothing had happened until they passed them by, then sighed a breath of relief and quickly dashed into the next security door.
“Finally got through the first hurdle.” Lin Fan stroked his chest.
After resting for a few minutes, they went up to the fifth floor silently and quickly. Luo ZhouZhou gently pushed open the security door and peeked out to see a corridor with no one in sight.
He waved his hand behind him and ducked into the hallway.
On the fifth floor was the Functional Section, an examination room with various instruments. Because there were no wards set up, and because it was late at night, everyone was off duty and the lights were off in all the rooms. After searching along the pheromone testing room, the AO disorder assessment room, and the cardiac function testing room, he finally found the blood bank at the end of the corridor.
Stopping in front of the blood bank, Luo ZhouZhou reached out and pushed the closed door, stating, “It’s locked.”
Lin Fan took off his backpack, rustled around in search for something, fished out a small metal card, and swiped it against the identification lock next to the door.
A soft click sounded and the lock opened. Lin Fan turned back, waved the card, and said proudly, “I stole this from my dad, it’s used by the military and no matter the lock, it can open it.”
They entered the darkened blood bank and both turned on the illuminators on their terminal. Under the beam of light, they could see that the blood bank was quite large, with all kinds of cabinets and boxes for preserving blood, neatly arranged in various sizes.
Luo ZhouZhou began to check the words on the boxes.
Cryogenic box for blood storage, platelet shock storage box…
“Do you want platelets? If you do, you have to carry this kind of shock box with you.” Lin Fan asked, pointing to a small cabinet.
Luo ZhouZhou shook his head and said, “Only the plasma.”
As the illuminator drew around the corner, Lin Fan pointed again and asked, “Do we need to use those special plasma thawing boxes?”
Luo ZhouZhou looked at the size and rejected the idea, “No, just use the microwave.”
Lin Fan opened his mouth in a bit of surprise, “That also works?”
Luo ZhouZhou opened the plasma cryostat and began to take blood from it. He held three bags in his arms, hesitated, then put one bag back. He turned to Lin Fan and explained, “There’s no need to take a lot, what if someone needs blood transfusion and there’s not enough?”
Lin Fan looked at his actions and asked, “You are not too particular, huh?”
Luo ZhouZhou shot back, “I’m not picky about food.”
“I meant the blood type, why don’t you choose only one?” Lin Fan rolled his eyes.
Luo ZhouZhou was indifferent, “All the same.”
Lin Fan, “…Okay.”
Luo ZhouZhou hugged the two bags of plasma, pulling his wallet from his pocket, and took out a thousand Alliance dollars, putting them on the cryogenic box.
“Let’s go, we’re done here.” He said.
Lin Fan nodded.
As they turned around, they heard a beep at the door, and the lock was swiped open.
“Not good!” As soon as Lin Fan said these words, the door was slammed open and a bright light shone in, hitting them directly in the face and blinding them.
“Don’t move! Hands up!” A stern voice exploded at the door.
At the same time, an alarm sounded in the corridor, echoing throughout the hospital. The sound of chaotic footsteps and shouting could also be heard from all directions.
The two men stood still and slowly raised their hands. The two bags of plasma in Luo ZhouZhou’s arms fell to the floor with a plop .
Aleisha Police Station – custody cell.
Luo ZhouZhou and Lin Fan were crouching in the corner, hugging their legs and hanging their heads without making a sound. Across from them, a row of people were squatting, staring at them with unblinking eyes.
“Hey, how did you two get in here? It looks fine and expensive to wear. Cheated money?” A big, tattooed, bald man asked rudely.
The skinny man next to him chuckled, “Arrested for that business, right?”
“Bullshit, can’t you see that neither of them have been marked yet?” A woman with heavy makeup pushed him roughly.
“Get away from me,” The thin man seemed to be afraid of her, and even moved a few steps to the side before crouching down.
“Little brother, your sister is here, don’t be afraid of them, I’ll protect you.” The woman turned to Luo ZhouZhou amiably, “Come and squat beside your sister.”
When Luo ZhouZhou heard her talking to him, he raised his head and heard the bald man laughing, “Don’t believe her, she’s the sluttiest Alpha in our area, who can’t control her crotch when seeing a beautiful little O.”
The woman turned around and punched him with a muffled thud .
Lin Fan shuddered.
“Little brother, tell your sister, why did they put you in here?” She turned her head again and asked them both in a gentle tone.
When Luo ZhouZhou saw that she was smiling with no malice, he whispered, “Sneaky shopping.”
“Sneaky shopping?” Several people across the room looked at each other.
“Secretly buying what? Drugs? E54? Or something else?” The woman asked.
Luo ZhouZhou shook his head, but didn’t want to talk about his trip to the blood bank, so he said, “Just… bought some… food in the hospital privately.”
Lin Fan hung his head and reached out his hand to tug on him quietly. Luo ZhouZhou quickly buried his head again and continued hugging his legs with Lin Fan in silence, not talking anymore.
At that moment, footsteps sounded outside the bars, and a police officer came over.
He looked inside, pointed at Luo ZhouZhou and Lin Fan, and loudly ordered, “You, and you. You two, come out.”
They looked at each other, hesitantly got up, and walked out of the custody cell. As they followed the police away, the bald man walked to the bars and stayed there for a moment. Then he kicked the metal with a heavy kick, making a loud bang .
He yelled out, “I’m going back to Bayard after I get arrested for buying food at the hospital!”
Aleisha Police Station – lobby.
Luo ZhouZhou and Lin Fan were sitting at two separate tables, being questioned by the police. The security guard from Alliance Hospital also came and was excitedly recounting what had happened, while the police took their statement.
“I thought they were trying to steal the anesthetic, but followed them to the blood bank…”
“Name.”
“Luo ZhouZhou.”
“Age.”
“Nineteen.”
…
Luo ZhouZhou was quite familiar with this kind of conversation.
Lin Fan, on the other hand, was obviously the first to encounter such a scene, trembling all over and crying when the police asked him.
“I really don’t know what the blood is for. Maybe his father put it on his mouth when he was scolding him and pretended that he vomited blood…”
On Luo ZhouZhou’s side, when the use of blood was mentioned, he was also tight-lipped and wouldn’t say anything.
One police officer threw his pen on the table and asked another irritably, “What should we do?”
The police officer sighed as Lin Fan cried out, and said, “It’s just two overly curious Omegas who stole either anesthetics or blood plasma. Everyone’s quite busy, even I have a few more cases piled on my hands,” he said. “Let’s just tell them to notify their families to come and collect them.”
Lin Fan sobbed and looked at Luo ZhouZhou and asked in a mouthful, “What should we do?”
He didn’t want his father to come to the police station to pick him up, and it wouldn’t just be a matter of deducting pocket money. Luo ZhouZhou’s heart was also in panic, and he remembered how Luo Pei would feel if he knew he had been arrested again at the police station, and he couldn’t help but feel his scalp going numb.
But he calmly mouthed to Lin Fan and reassured him, “I’ll think of something.”
The police officer took out a terminal, tossed it to Luo ZhouZhou, and said, “Call your parents and tell them to hurry up and come get you two.”
Luo ZhouZhou slowly picked up the terminal and thought, I’ll call Butler Li.
Ah, Butler Li won’t do, he’ll tell Luo Pei sooner or later.
Thinking it over, Luo ZhouZhou concluded that there was only one person who could save him now.
At the urging of the police, he stopped hesitating and entered Chu Feng’s number. He had only ever been in contact with Chu Feng, so he treasured the number and remembered it well.
After a few long dial tones, a deep male voice came out of the terminal, “Hello?”
When Luo ZhouZhou heard the familiar voice, he suddenly panicked and began to regret having dialed the call. Just as he wanted to hang up, he saw the police officer staring at him from across the room.
“Sir, may I ask if you need to apply for insurance? Our company has launched a new type of insurance, are you interested in hearing about it?”
At the police officer’s astonished gaze, he held his throat and repeated the sales call he had received before, ready to be hung up on.
Unexpectedly, the other side paused only for a second before saying, “Okay, let’s hear what you have to say.”
Luo ZhouZhou froze with the terminal in his hand. The police officer raised his finger and pointed it at him, so he gave him a pleading expression.
Looking into those eyes, the police officer finally said nothing, only nodded with his finger in the air.
“What? Aren’t you going to introduce me to your insurance?” Chu Feng faintly urged.
Luo ZhouZhou had no choice but to keep on talking, squeezing his throat.
After stammering for a few sentences, he said, “I’ll tell you more about it next time,” and was ready to hang up.
Chu Feng, who had listened to his entire sales pitch in silence, suddenly laughed softly on the other end of the terminal and said, “Zhou Zhou, are you working part-time?”
Luo ZhouZhou instantly stiffened, and it took several seconds before he said, “…Umm.”
“Not bad,” Chu Feng praised, “The police station is crowded, it’s a good place to sell. Zhou Zhou is really smart.”
Luo ZhouZhou panicked and blurted out, “How did you know I was in the police station?”
Chu Feng said in a calm voice, “Caller ID.”
Luo ZhouZhou was silent.
“That’s it then, you keep busy.” Chu Feng paused, as if he was about to hang up.
“Wait a second.” Luo ZhouZhou hurriedly spoke up.
Chu Feng asked gently, “Is there anything else, Zhou Zhou?”
Luo ZhouZhou stopped talking once again.
“If there’s nothing, I’ll hang up.”
“…There’s something.”
“Hmm?” Chu Feng’s final voice trailed off a bit, languidly.
Luo ZhouZhou suspected that he actually knew everything, and finally admitted dejectedly, “I’m at the police station again, and I need a parent to come and get me.”
