The Legendary Master’s Wife - Chap 21
Chapter 21: Life Story and the Winged Bird
It was not just him going down the mountain this time. It was unclear how many Tian Xin Sect disciples went down the mountain each month. You XiaoMo didn’t know how many disciples there would be from the other peaks, but there were four others from Capital Peak going down with him. Among the five, other than the two who were fulfilling the orders from their shifus to buy supplies, the other two were going home to visit their families after being away for a year.
As for “You XiaoMo”‘s family, he had asked the other disciples that entered together with him. He found out that he was raised in a single-parent home. His mother who raised him passed away from overwork when he was seven years old. After that, he was entrusted to his mother’s sister’s family. His aunt’s family lived in Peach Blossom village. It was a small place, but very famous for its peach blossoms. When he reached seventeen years of age, his aunt’s family was looking for a reason to drive him out of the house. It just so happened that the elders from the Tian Xin Sect came looking for disciples. A simple life story. You XiaoMo could almost guess how his aunt’s whole family must not like ‘him’.
He heaved a sigh of relief knowing that ‘You XiaoMo’ didn’t have a close relationship with his aunt’s family. A bad relationship meant his aunt’s family would not welcome his return. Not needing to return meant he wouldn’t have to face the danger of being discovered that the soul was no longer the same. Furthermore, he didn’t know how he would handle his aunt’s family. But most importantly, he didn’t know where Peach Blossom village was. He also didn’t know what anyone in his aunt’s family looked like. If he were to return and run into his aunt’s family without recognizing them, that would be extremely dangerous!
Since there were only five disciples from Capital Peak going down the mountain, Kong-shifu was worried that they would run into danger. So, he asked Heaven Peak’s Mo Gu-shishu to help look after them.
Mo Gu-shishu was leading some disciples to purchase necessities. He was the most senior disciple on this t rip, so it was only natural to entrust the disciples to him. They were, after all , the Tian Xin Sect disciples.
Other than disciples from the Mage Division, You XiaoMo also heard that disciples from the Warrior Division would also be accompanying them this time. Although disciples from the Mage Division were skilled in refining magic pills, their military ability was generally not strong. That was why disciples from the Military Division would accompany the group every time a high level mage went down the mountain. Especially since the high level mage going down this time was Mo Gu-shishu.
You XiaoMo followed the other disciples and waited at the foot of Capital Peak mountain for an hour before Mo Gu-shishu and the others showed up. Everyone could hear their rowdy voices from afar, but none of them dared to make any complaints. Compared to the five moody disciples, that group of people could be described as raucous. Each and every one chatting and laughing, as if they were going on a pleasure trip. But the one attracting the most attention was not Mo Gu-shishu. It was a girl surrounded and fawned on by a few young male disciples. One look at her and You XiaoMo couldn’t help but sigh at the hand of fate.
That girl was the Shimei he saw twice in the library. At that time he had guessed that she was a Heaven Peak disciple. It seemed like that was true . However, that Da Shixiong was nowhere in sight. After meeting up, Mo Gu-shishu didn’t say anything, not mentioning the issue of being late. Just like this, they grandly headed down the mountain.
The Tian Xin Sect was located in the middle of lush green mountain peaks. It was said that this place was opened up by the founder of the Tian Xin Sect to serve as a sanctuary. Later when the Tian Xin Sect became the largest sect on the Long Xiang Continent, the sanctuary also expanded a great deal. With the lush green mountain peaks as the center, Tian Xin Sect’s domain covered everything within a hundred mile radius.
Today their destination was the town on the outskirts of this hundred mile radius. It was also the closest town to the Tian Xin Sect, where the Tian Xin Sect bought their supplies each month. Since the distance was quite far , after they descended the mountain, they got on winged birds to reach their destination.
The Tian Xin Sect had about a hundred winged birds which were specially raised for transportation. They were about five to ten meters tall. They were mainly used by the Mage Division, because unlike the Mage Division, practitioners from the Warrior Division were able to fly on their own once they reached a certain level. Some winged birds could hold five people, so You XiaoMo and his Xiongs went ahead and took one of those. Their quiet, moody atmosphere contrasted sharply with the others ahead of them.
The winged birds were very fast. The hundred mile distance was covered in the time it took to brew half a cup of tea. When the three winged birds landed in a clearing, You XiaoMo looked around. It was like a public square surrounded by a few short buildings. There were also a few thatched pens holding more winged birds. Needless to say, this place must have been set up as a the Tian Xin Sect’s outpost.
You XiaoMo jumped down from the back of the winged bird and just as he was about to follow the group, a familiar face walked up to them. Someone that made him feel guilty when he saw him. He was none other than the one whose private conversation he had overheard two days ago. The Da Shixiong ‘Xiao-shixiong’. He later found out that it was not the xiao character from yunxiao ( 云霄-Sky) . Rather it was the xiao character from xiaoxiang( 肖像- portrait) . His full name was Lin Xiao, the most talented disciple of the Warrior Division. He was also the Eldest disciple of the Grand Master.
