The Legendary Master’s Wife - Chap 5
Chapter 5: Accepting a Shifu at the Hall of Mages
When he reached his room, the sun was just about to set behind the mountain. You XiaoMo glanced at the room next door, supposedly the room of the young man that came to see him earlier today, Jiang Liu. But the room was all quiet, looked like he had already moved out. With this type of good luck, of course You XiaoMo was envious. After all, the original You XiaoMo’s talent had already been completely determined, a guaranteed soul with a green aura.
However, that was before he was transported over. After the change in souls, it must have changed. You XiaoMo had no intention of getting re-appraised. If it turned out the two appraisals were different, he would most likely be subjected to suspicion. Afterall, he wouldn’t want to die once again after just being here for a few days. Therefore, even though he really wanted to know his talent, he had no interest in getting re-appraised.
Back in his room, he put the four books on the table. It had to be said that the things he superficially looked at in the East Pavilion were very profound. Perhaps others would be able to understand, but for an outsider like him, with absolutely no understanding of mages, for him to come to a sudden understanding, it really was somewhat difficult. However, despite the difficulty, he still had to digest these four books before the next day, because he had to go the the Hall of Mages tomorrow, where it would be decided if he could find a good Shifu to learn from.
In order to become a mage, other than one’s own efforts, an outstanding Shifu is also a critical factor.
You XiaoMo didn’t know if he would be chosen, but he still couldn’t afford to go there without knowing anything. Who knew if the selection process would entail some sort of assessment, if h e was clueless to any questions , he could realistically picture how no one would be willing to accept him. Therefore, You XiaoMo intended to supplement his knowledge, but four books in a night was no easy feat. After taking a huge breath, You XiaoMo resolutely burned the midnight oil.
As a result, the next day, You XiaoMo had an extra pair of bags beneath his eyes. His worries were by no means superfluous. Early the next morning, someone from the Hall of Mages came over to lead the way. The person they sent over was a young man in his twenties, with an indifferent expression.
He gave them fifteen minutes to get ready, not saying anything else the whole time, as if he couldn’t really be bothered. You XiaoMo saw a few bitter smiled from the others, because they were all considered ‘leftovers’. The reality was the ones with great potential, for example those with blue or purple auras had already been chosen long ago, leaving only those with inferior talent, just like You XiaoMo. He was the worst among the five, as the others had green auras. But You XiaoMo didn’t feel inadequate, after all, as Edison once said, genius is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration.
Fifteen minutes later, they arrived at the Hall of Mages. The grandeur of the Hall of Mages was in no way inferior to the library. It was unclear if they were the last ones to arrive as a crowd of other people were already assembled inside. However, the others looked pretty much like them, dressed in simple green robes with ordinary hairpins in their hair. All of them probably entered the Tian Xin Sect at about the same time. You XiaoMo had thought that there were only the few of them, never expecting that there would be so many. No wonder the Tian Xin Sect was able to develop into the number one major sect in the Long Xiang Continent, with the importance they attached to the quality of their disciples.
Since the elders had not arrived, the anxious crowd started to exchange words. It was just that the topics were all of the same kind: ‘What is the color of your aura?’, ‘I wonder who would pick me?’ ‘It would be great if I was spotted by so and so elder.’ Everything consisted of that kind of worthless talk. You XiaoMo let out a huge yawn. After staying up the whole night, he found it a little difficult to hold on. Just when he was about to find a corner to take a nap, a piercing voice made him jump.
” Silence , everyone .”
